Steel Wolf Posted December 19, 2014 Share #3 Posted December 19, 2014 Working in the industry I do, where I book everyone else's holiday vacations, this entire time of year is just a reminder that I don't get holidays, I get key business days. Love it. Link to comment

Unnamed Mercenary Posted December 19, 2014 Share #10 Posted December 19, 2014 Oh please. Anything but the Christmas music. Used to work in a place that'd play them just minutes after Thanksgivign ended until mid-January. Christmas music has become unbearable in extended durations. edit: Saw Verad's post There is a one-week period each year in which Christmas music is acceptable. Everything prior to the 18th is not that week. SO MUCH THIS 1 Link to comment

Then I, and the bombs, get stored back away for more training, devoid of phones and music save for the sweet cries of our suffering. Also Ragnar, you are in for one crazy trip once you get yourself here. Its unlike anything else. Edit: I like the name Natalie. Think I have a new tradition now. Lol Link to comment
Maril Posted December 19, 2014 Share #22 Posted December 19, 2014 - Social expectations (It's the required norm to attend several xmas parties here before xmas, such as with your workplace, family, friends.. Last year I had 5 during december) - Peer pressure to eat more than you can. - Pretending everything is fine (and usually failing) - People pretending to like your gifts (and usually failing) - People saying "Oh you don't have to get me anything" .. Like.. So I'm supposed to show up empty handed when you're getting me something. As if you wouldn't get disappointed. - People not saying what they want / being very unspecific, like "Oh, clothes" (especially if you don't know their tastes) - Routines get broken due to vacation days - Fireworks way too early. You don't expect the boom. Makes me jump out of my chair every time. - Rain. - Re-broadcasting that christmas tv calendar show for kids from 199x for the 6th time, reruns so often you can't avoid it + media talking about how good it is by slightly rewording old articles. But oddly enough I don't mind the xmas music. ... Xmas is not my absolute favorite time of year. Link to comment
Nebbs Posted December 19, 2014 Share #23 Posted December 19, 2014 People at work just won't stop trying to squeeze things in before the break.. it's not like anyone will take any notice of them until we all get back! People being otherwise engaged over the period.. I get some free time and they go and spend it enjoying themselves.. how selfish! Being introverted is perfectly fine.. leave me alone for new year, why do I have to be subject to forced socialisation with people who care so much about each other they don't even say hello in the street? 1 Link to comment
