Tell me about your future Au Ra!

Lore permitting, these are my two basic ideas:

 

1)

Male Au Ra Dark Knight, he sides with the Dravanians, and hunts down Dragoons to kill the threat to the dragons.

 

2)

Female Au Ra Astrologian (OOC class), a gambler, triple triad enthusiast and chocobo jockey. She lives and works at the Manderville Gold Saucer and seems to act like there's nothing out of that world of fun and entertainment!

Friend and I are thinking about making Au Ra siblings but I have a feeling we won't be planning much until some lore and naming conventions come up. I've already drafted my character to be a gentle giant who cowers at the slightest hint of hostility. I'd really like to try keeping a background of having been treated really badly by the Garleans but we'll see if that sticks.

I'm actually going to just be using the Au Ra as a frame for a goofy character idea I have. Mostly because of the horns, which I'm hoping will be shown on helmet models and stuff. Because, you see, I want to make a FFTA Judge.

 

Wait, come back, I'm serious.

 

I like the idea of a sort of... settler of disputes. If people want to deal with their problems with honorable combat, he'd be on hand to oversee those duels and ensure they're being done cleanly and fairly. Considering how dangerous and underhanded some people can be, it seems like it'd be an interesting job to try and play.

 

Plus, when I'm in a goofier mood, I could always have him shout random rules at people.

I'm kinda tempted to start with a Highlander to get him going... but Judges use big two-handed Judgeswords - and that means DRK. So having both in one seems like the way to go, but I'd probably want to at least ensure any prerequisites were outta the way - in case it's like ROG and you need to have a combat class at a certain level first before being able to access DRK.

 

... Plus, it'd probably help to already have a character ready to Fantasia rather than trying to squeeze in a new guy with the flood of players that will likely be trying to do the same come Heavensward.

I really want to be Au Ra both IC and OOC. 

 

My big problem is I just moved servers to Balmung and have never RP before. SO part of me does not even want to start till I do change to Au Ra, don't want to have to find a way for people to work around/deal with my race change. 

 

But if and when I do start to RP. I want him to be a Astro IC and always have fits of seeing into the future "That's so Raven" style lol. I also want him to be some kind of outcast because of it. Him having to change his name (mostly because I love the name I have ), but doing his best to follow Au Ra ways if the lore is not horrible.

[align=left]The idea I've been kicking around is a refugee Au Ra who went into hiding, glamoured as a highlander in Ala Mhigo and scraped by via skullduggery/mercenary work. Then, of course, he's displaced yet again by the Garleans, begins working as an adventurer/"security specialist" in the city states until the re-emergence of the Au Ra.

Struggling with highlander and Au Ra identity, trying to get away from dishonest work, aspires to be a valiant, renowned knight.

 

Obviously, this is all nearly completely made up and dependent on how the lore actually shakes out.

These are the things I tinker with in my mind about my character I haven't actually RP'd with yet while I'm wallowing in my queues on this new server.

All of this is even more dependent on whether or not I actually like how they look.[/align]

Dunno if I'll make one. Aside from not knowing the lore yet, I like being rare and Au Ra sure won't be that. Besides that, I prefer playing my own gender and the girls are generic looking.

The girl will likely be an astrologian IC, but if lore is weird/unforgiving, she'll be a thaumaturge and/or arcanist. She will look precious, but have a blunt personality with a dark sense of humor. She'll be part of a duo with a friend's character. We're waiting on lore and blahblahblah... But the general concept is that my friend's Au Ra is essentially going to be a bodyguard to mine. Sort of a "I am honor-bound to watch over you" type of situation. Like a protective big sister no one asked for!

 

Don't have much of an idea for the dude, yet. Maybe he'll be hyper pro-Au Ra ideals... whatever those happen to be? He'll be a lot less thought-out since I won't play him as often.

V'lanya (or rather the voidsent inhabiting her body) is dying, and she needs a new host! What better than a pretty little Au Ra Dark Knight that's on the brink of death? I'm excited to get some backstory fleshed out for the previous inhabitant, and original name. SE can't hurry enough.

My Au'Ra (currently a miqo'te!) I've kinda kept her off the radar RP wise. I had the thought to have her be traveling Eorzea using a glamour like the Heretics in Coerthas used to pass among the Inquisitors unnoticed - however I hit a snag with this plan.

 

I saw quite a few others had the same idea which was pretty cool, considering the magicks are out there and part of the game already - but, for people who claimed to be trying to hide their appearance, I saw quite a few of these scenes;

Waiting for more lore, but if they are indeed dragon offspring, I will be an au ra raised by his mother to be an instrument of her hatred against both races. Completely blinded and going down the 'wrong' path. I rarely give my character happy times, and this one will be no exception.

 

That said, I'm really just waiting out to hear more lore before finalising the concept of him. But think most people are doing that in any case.

Ah, you beat me to it! Doesn't bother me if others have similar lines of thinking to mine. I wanna RP what I enjoy. If anything, maybe it just means great minds think alike.

 

That and this is all still in the early conceptual stages. Buddy and I still talking through different possibilities and patiently waiting on dat lore drop, of course.

If lore permits, I have to do way more reading, but I plan on my current RP character being an Au Ra all along instead of making a new character (yay fantasia). We've seen imps do whole body glamours, so my kitty has been a glamoured au ra all along~ There's a lot more details in the back story and such, but I won't go into much detail until I read all the pretty lore, that probably will be very vague lol, and make edits to fit.

 

EDIT: Reading here, noticed some others had the same idea Lol I don't feel creative anymore! But I still plan on sticking with it, my irl boyfriend and I came up with it and were all excited about how our characters will interact and such.

 

More about the character: Happy, hyper, normal. Any character you'd forget easily lol She only reveals herself as an Au Ra once more Au Ra show up in her new home ;c Which explains why no one knew she wasn't a kitty!

I'm kind of sad about female Au ras, with the huge difference in height. I wanted more tall ladies! So when I do make one, it will probably be max height. And it will also be the clan with greyish-blue-ish skin, cause those skin types are my favourite. It will also have one of the more intricate hairstyles, because while I don't have a hashed out personality, I want her to be meticulous about her appearance unlike my other toons (who have varying degrees of care but all are squarely on the casual side)

 

She'll probably be a dark knight/ paladin combo or a dragoon.

Like I mentioned before, I wanna make an Au Ra gunslinger; Probably going to be like, guard for hire or some such. I want to hear a bit more about them before I go super in-depth to their background. If I can't find a good lore name for her, I may give her a nickname that she goes by with most people, and change it later.
