balmung Aspiring "Knight" seeks Mentor or Cause to serve!
C'io Behkt replied to Ivanius's topic in Chronicled Connections
While I come here not as a Mentor character by any stretch, I'd like to ask if I can bring C'io over to share this journey with Z'tehra -- to whatever mentor she decides on (so this is a plea to the mentors in here as well) and beyond! C'io is character of strong and high ideals always struggling to reconcile her beliefs with the realities of Eorzea. She can speak in Library, which I'm sure will help, and while on the magician spectrum now, grew up as a hunter and sword-fighter, skills she is at present seeking to return to and polish. Having another character along on that journey would make it much more special for me, definitely. Additionally, as a researcher, C'io's studies are into public attitudes and policies on "Taboo Magics" and whether such beliefs are deserved or mistaken -- she is someone who may eventually be turned to should Z'tehra's heirloom weapon turn problematic. C'io also has her own causes, which she believes in fervently, so any interaction between the two could eventually lead to your second ask -- a cause to serve. Feel free to PM me or poke at me here! I look forward to hearing from you and to seeing your story and concept develop! -
Ah haha, oh no -- I'm too late! I think it is fantastic that you've gone out and offered to do this for others; I know many people whose stories would be greatly augmented by the appearance of a family member like this, myself included. I wish for the best in your collaborative family tale, Mana! If you ever have space in your journeys for our characters to meet, particularly because C'io was once that sprightly young desert bumpkin of a miqo'te, I'd love to work together and make that happen, . All the best!

balmung LF Connection(s) for GMT+10 timezone
C'io Behkt replied to Orison451's topic in Chronicled Connections
I just want to throw in that Rhaya'li is super fantastic both as a player and as a character. He has strong ideas on the storylines he wishes to pursue and works hard to actualise them both in networking with others and in facilitating adventures related to his character's goals. Don't let Rhaya'li's IC prickliness fool you; here is roleplay of the highest calibre, sadly sequestered to an abominable (for our purposes) timezone. Also, I'd be more than happy to add myself (as GMT+8) to busybody in on any additional connection Rhaya'li manages to snag here! -
Care to take part in a trial?
C'io Behkt replied to Lady Whiteraven's topic in Chronicled Connections
C'io would loathe to label herself as an expert, but given what I know of the circumstances surrounding the killings, she could be called upon for an expert testimony on the magical aspects of the case -- or driven to help in any investigations that the barristers need to conduct. Her logic and expression are also strong enough that she could possibly be a barrister, but without a license and without a formal knowledge of law, particularly Ishgardian law, she might make a poor advocate. Her hat's pretty cool, though. Possible spoilers: A note on the Judges of the Tribunal. Given the alterations to Ishgard's government, would it not be, at this point, mixed with at least one non-noble judge appointed by the House of Commons? One noble, one clergy, one common, or a mix of the above? -
Haha, and just to exhibit Sounssey's philosophy on that, C'io's Coeurl tribe is totally different from the one C'kayah linked, and that's all perfectly okay, . A fun place to look for tribe/sect personality is the Xaela tribe list. When it first came out, I tried to see what people's fun headcanons were for their own Seeker tribes here -- -- Seeker Tribes with Fan-Made Xaela-Style Lore Have fun with your Vulture. Maybe, like the comprehensive Coeurl page, you'll find others wanting to use your interpretation in future. And even if they don't, being an outlier can be fun too!

Our initial interviews will be because we need extra hands. The Guiding Light is only officially, in-character, at around 4 members, and it needs more to complete the following task to help us pay the bills: DOCUMENTING THE SILENT KING Thursday, March 16 @ 9pm EST The Thaumaturge Guild normally catalogues annual changes to Belah'diah ruins, but this year they are fed up with the ruins popularly coined "The Silent King" because of anomalies on-site; the thaumaturges would rather be conducting "more important research" for some upcoming bragging meeting, so they put in a request with us to complete documentation on the site. Apparently, the situation at the Silent King is that the data keeps changing: inscriptions have now altered to no longer match the years worth of archives, and markings and weathering that are present and noted down one hour are gone by the next. "Figure out what's mummer's farce is going on and we'll throw in a bonus, but if you can't just leave that Twelvesdamn place be. We can go back to it after our conference of we have to.” We also have an additional in-house request from Syhrwyb: “Cast some lines down by Crescent Cove, will ya, and bring back what you catch, even if it is just boots.”
-
Hurray! Ok, so despite a week's delay from sickness (me, >_>), The Guiding Light is now officially open! Our story together starts here, which of course means we have to be together, so to facilitate that, here are the in-character interview/induction times (open by appointment) for new recruits! INTERVIEW TIMES (All times in EST) Sundays 9pm - 2am Mondays 8pm - 12mn Tuesdays 8pm - 12mn Thursdays 9pm - 12mn VENUE The Hooded Lantern, Goblet Ward 1, 23. or elsewhere by request

Hi Koen! I'd also like to sign up my character C'io to learn from Koen's long years of experience. Are you setting this up as a class/squad training or individualized instruction? C'io's martial experience is mainly in monster hunting as a pack, so she's good at guerilla fighting and the pile-up of many vs one, but not at regimented warfare or multiple foes. She's also becoming too reliant on her magic to deal with scenarios of conflict outside of what she is accustomed to, and her weapon arm is growing soft. I think she'd benefit greatly from learning a career soldier's perspective and fighting techniques. Her preferred melee weapon is the sword, but she would be willing to learn using what Koen feels most appropriate to teaching good soldiery. Looking forward to your reply, and will keep an eye out for you in the game too!

Hi! Welcome to Balmung, Maeve! Sorry I missed this earlier; EST Fridays are big workdays for me, so I always get scarce. I saw your post on the The Guiding Light's page, and I see Kasi mentioned us here (thanks Kasi, ) ). I totally don't mind helping you get comfortable with this beautiful game! As a bonus, I was also a long-time roleplayer in WoW, though I stopped just after Wrath of the Lich King, so we have that in common, . However, I do need to correct that, as of yet, my FC does not have much of a presence that corresponds with normal EU times. Some of our NA players come on early enough, but for those of us in Asia, I think your prime times are our sleepy times. (If this were a game of rock paper scissors, EU would beat JST, JST - NA, NA - EU.) That said, we can still try make something work, and I'm still very open to talking this out with you to see if we can't find a common time-ground!

I am excited about this post because the concept sounds like amazing potential fun -- and also because I am a fellow social studies teacher, hello! Welcome to the profession! It is less time consuming than being a researcher was, but the kids find ways to fill your schedule up all the same, haha. This is a quick reply as I have to hurry and set up the classroom for the day, but what I can offer on a personal and FC level is the specialist angle! My FC, The Guiding Light, has its headquarters in Ul'dah and is focused on the use of knowledge to serve the Eorzean people. If we don't have the skill or expertise you are looking for, we are willing (I am willing) to go out into the RP world and find someone with it! Then drag them over to you. Personally, C'io herself was once a tracker for the Flames, and now conducts her own research into various ancient magics and the social and otherwise reasons for why some of those magics are cast as "forbidden." For antagonist coordination and criminal informants, while they are Shroud-quartered, I highly suggest talking to The Mischief's Coven, an FC that is built to help connect and OOC coordinate the criminal element to those in the community looking to use it in their stories!

Hi! Welcome to the site and to the roleplaying side of the game! I play C'io, who is now assistant director of The Guiding Light. Sorry about the dearth of information on TGL on the RPC; while I have made the page for it recently (it's in my signature), I can't seem to figure out how to make the RPC actually display it on the Free Companies listings. I'll let you go read the link yourself, but the short of it is is that The Guiding Light is a nascent Free Company dedicated to knowledge and how its study and dissemination can benefit the realm, particularly against the Garlean Empire which is a superpower whose strength lies in aggressive archeology and research. It is to our detriment to become slack in that department. Of course, we're not that grand yet. Not close. Right now we're still finishing construction, still getting the group together, and just beginning our first project into Eorzean Attitudes on Refugees, which should be a fun piece to work on together. Let me know what you think once you go through it! If not the FC, we can at least discuss ways for Albus and C'io to become contacts, . I see on the Welcome Desk that reaching out and forming contacts is something you're working on, which is true for me also, but I'm building my network steadily! We can build ours steadily together, haha. (I have discovered why Azeyma's Oath is apparently on site and The Guiding Light appears to not be (though it is): there is a second page(!) to this FC listing where all the T's hang out! Long mystery solved )

I am here because of the words Miqo'te Summoner, >_>. But I am guilty of being the opposite of what you are asking for, although perhaps with a little dash of salt. Hear me out! Before C'io fulfilled the requirements to even being aware of her capacity for Summoning, she was a tribal monster hunter-type miqo'te who had traveled to Ul'dah chasing stories of the valiant Warriors of Light and was instead faced with some of the worst facets of a city whose primary obsession is coin. She worked jobs of heavy labour to avoid more compromising employment, and still performs all manner of simple tasks because she understands the value of small gestures -- especially after working and living among Ala Mhigans, whom she tried to help but ultimately could not beyond day-to-day subsistence. She had to learn that the problems between Ul'dah and its refugees were too far beyond one person to alleviate, and re-calibrated to simply touch what lives she could. Sometimes, that feeling still drowns her in helplessness, though not as often as it used to. These are experiences C'io can use to help Tali'ra figure the balance between his own ideals and capabilities. Plus I'm pretty interested in having her interact with another summoner, if you're up for that, .

balmung Bunch of crazy characters looking for action!
C'io Behkt replied to Ysolda Merwin's topic in Chronicled Connections
Ahhh! Oh no, I didn't quite mean that so strongly as to say they wouldn't match up so well. Of course, if you are alright giving a really, really new and tiny start-up a chance, I would be totally open to it; I just worry about how pulling you over when I don't know if I can really guarantee something yet. It'd be a fixer-upper, to be sure, but you'd also get a pretty good stake RP-wise on how we proceed through inception and our early days. (See the How to Join Disclaimer in my Guiding Light post, haha.) Which characters in particular did you have in mind? We could try brave the Timezone Adventure together, see if it works for us. Regardless of your choices, though, I'd like to try find those intersections between your time and mine! Hahaha, the interaction with Ysolda would be interesting! I'm not sure if C'io would describe magic in quite the same way as other scholars given that she's a jock turned to magician. She actually quite resists the nerd stereotype, even if she has adapted far too well to its diction-abusing ways! Could you give me an idea as to what hours you are on? Leave the timezone math to me, . -
Okay, I was hanging back a little to let the shier people who haven't been able to dig out some good roleplay in the game yet take the stage, but the mention of world RP and fluid, adapting walk-up RP caught my attention. I want to work with you on that, on bringing it back. I'll admit that I don't know how it works now that roleplay has become more paragraph-y and less quick bursts of dialogue and action (anecdotal, so may not describe the whole population), but I'm willing to learn insofar as it brings us back to the open world!

balmung Bunch of crazy characters looking for action!
C'io Behkt replied to Ysolda Merwin's topic in Chronicled Connections
Hi! Welcome back! So many of us are returning, and it is lovely. As someone on Asia time, I know how tough it can be to be on an alternate timezone; that knowledge that I would not be able to consistently interact with persons of other timezones to build a long continuity held me to my shyness for such a long time, particularly since it is someone else's time you are asking for, but you meet so many people here with similar pains and it works out, . While I'd like to slide in here and also shill my own post-graduate nerd FC, The Guiding Light (see signature), is in a nascent state and may demand more than I can comfortably impose upon your timezone for. That said, I will echo the support of the Azeyma's Oath here by also pointing out that next door to them is the Mischief's Coven tavern, and that the Mischief's Coven group is active both during NA and EU times! You benefit from proximity to two active and fun roleplaying FCs! And that the Oath has wonderful people like Kazukata is also a strong testament to it as a good FC to choose! Ah, now I know this thread is about finding an FC, but whichever of the many new nerd FCs you choose, I'd also love to make more connections on my own character, C'io -- a well-traveled adventuring researcher of old Eorzean magic who began her journey long ago also by coming into conflict with her demagogue of a father (Nuhn) and leaving the tribe behind. She's worked hard to be who she is right now, but she hasn't forgotten the difficulty of being both inexperienced with the world and without the support of one's family. She'd likely get along with Ysolda, and perhaps with Q'rhin once she overcomes her initial wariness of newly met Seeker males. Ah, but overall though, good luck in your quest! We should RP and follow through, definitely, timezones permitting! -
[Balmung] Looking to Dive into this wonderful game.
C'io Behkt replied to Phobias53's topic in Chronicled Connections
Hi Percey! First of all, you are at an exciting part of life and I like that you are mixing your real life love with your character concept here -- that always makes for fun and interesting roleplay. Secondly, welcome to the game! You won't be disappointed with FFXIV. Take it slow and enjoy the love letter to the entire series this game is! Feel free to add me in game and ask me anything on your journey! Percey's story of coming to Ul'dah is one that I always have a soft spot for as that was how I began the journey of my own character, C'io. Ul'dah is not a kind place to newcomers, as you will find out more as you play through the story of the game. It is still a beautiful place, one with the potential to affect so much hope to those who need it most. While she is not a practitioner of medicine or even of conjury, I can offer you C'io as a sort-of mentor in regards to surviving the Ul'dah with your ideals still intact. She came to the city without much to her name, and avoided some of its more terrible pitfalls by taking on the most difficult and physically punishing jobs before getting lucky and landing her most stable employment as a mail courier and later as a full fledged adventurer. She is a little awkward to start with social situations as she is used to life on the road alone most, but she's trying to reach out and be friendly to more people. She even has a friend now with whom she reminisces the difficulty of those first days in the city, and believes in helping refugees and newcomers when she can. She is starting up a new Free Company to do with the research, application, and teaching of knowledge at something of a post-graduate level, but it is really small and very start up at the moment. It may be possible that Percey also looks there for mentorship or just a place to do his studies safely. If that is interesting to you, even if you are already in another FC, you are most certainly welcome! (See The Guiding Light in my signature; it's super new.) It also sounds like, to get the most out of your Ul'dah experience, that you'll want Percey to encounter its lows. For that I definitely recommend touching base with Mischief's Coven through Kasi and Liliro! They can really help coordinate with you run ins and plot lines to do with the criminal element and other FCs. Plus they're really cool people to boot! I recommend having a lot of OOC mentors, haha. Other than that, look at the other posts in this subforum. There was a drug addict who posted recently who is also situated in Ul'dah -- a possible link for you? Anyway, that's already off topic. Again, welcome to the game! I look forward to seeing you in Ul'dah and helping you enjoy FFXIV as I can, barring timezone shenanigans! -
Welcome to Balmung, Kaz! It looks like everyone else hit the points and made the recommendations I wanted to, but I still wish to welcome you and provide the open offer for our characters, as residents of Ul'dah, to run into each other if you'd like. Beyond that, anything OOC you need, even if it is just company, as you transition over, I'm more than happy to offer, . May your transfer be a smooth one! You're in good hands, it looks like, :Db.

balmung Friendly Miqo looking for LS/anyone!
C'io Behkt replied to omnoriaaa's topic in Chronicled Connections
Hi Ra'ahxus! I am really sorry, but I am offering you another Miqo'te. But first, some questions of curiousity! What totem animal does Ahxus' "Ra" carry, or is that part of his identity that he is unaware of having lived instead with the cat-gang? Was your cat-gang an Ul'dahn one or did they frequent the areas surrounding a different city-state? As for possible connections to have our characters meet, I'll present a few options so you can choose what works best for you, . C'io is a fellow Seeker who has been based in Ul'dah a long time, but who has also traveled extensively across Eorzea as an adventurer and odd-jobs woman. She is sometimes awkward in social situations because of how long she's lived alone on the road, and she doesn't quite trust miqo'males, particularly Seeker ones, but she's a good person with a good heart, and someone who understands magic and studies the social stigma behind forbidden arts. She's also someone who, like Ra'axhus, is learning how to open up and make friends again. While typically her chosen tasks have to do with hard labour and delivering mail, it may be that they once ran into one another as fellow contractors during one of his 'magician' gigs. It is also quite possible that she had run-ins with your gang in the past as they sought to liberate from her parcels of mail she was in charge of delivering; C'io knows the natural paths, after all, and has often been alone in the wilds. The latter one might work for you because it will also mean Ra'ahxus will have some evidence that C'io is not a member of his cat-gang. Another option is to have Ra'axhus visit C'io's new FC instead. As a group that is openly interested in understanding the history and historical techniques and technologies that litter Eorzea, The Guiding Light might have attracted Ra'axhus' attention as a place he could open up about his use of War of Magi era magics and, temporarily, stop denying the black magus inside of him. In any event, I'm open to whatever best suits your character! Let's both put ourselves out there and meet some good people IC! -
The Guiding Light "What is it, do you believe, that lies at the core of Garlean military supremacy?" Her accent a mix of Ul'dah and further south, the miqo'te seated at one of the carbuncle-motif tables is obviously an adventurer, but laid on the table before her is an assortment of books, opened letters, and empty ceramic and tin cups. Academic, with a little tea and brandy. The quill in her hand and the tail behind her move in an almost synchronous sway as she continues. "Why do we not simply evict them from their castrums? Why it is that even our Grand Companies look to Baelsar's Wall with trepidation, if not outright dread? "The Garleans know more about our past than we do, and that is their power. They hunt Allaghan relics with the confidence that anything they unearth can not just be studied, but also understood and replicated on an imperial scale. Their researchers are united. Ours are not." Smiling broadly, she offers with a gesture an empty chair at her table. "Or… at least, they are not yet. I have ideas; will you hear me out?" Welcome to the recruitment page of The Guiding Light! The Guiding Light is a newly-minted Free Company with the mission of networking Eorzean researchers with one another regardless of affiliation or citizenship. Of course, adventurers also, the members of the company take to the field to collect relics, funding, and relevant data! Whether for a hunt or a survey, The Guiding Light will be out there (or in the study), learning more about Eorzea's past and present so as to inform, together with all possible research partners, the realm's future as one free and independent of Garlean rule. With stars in our eyes and lightning in our hearts, The Guiding Light is a gathering of persons fueled by strong ideals and a deep love for the pursuit of knowledge in all its forms! Our interests are varied, and we'd like our roster to be also -- whether your character chases the secrets of magic, the self-mastery of martial arts, the wisdom of the fishing pole, or the nuances of social phenomenon, so long as you have passion for the pursuit of knowledge and for teaching that knowledge to others, we’d love to have you! While in-house research and story progression is important to us, to live up to our name, our goal is to bring our studies, findings, and roleplay out into the general community. Think courses on lalafellian spear-fighting, lectures on Old Allag, symposiums and debates on magic, and field trips to Nymian ruins. Of course, a small group like us isn't the sole source of knowledge on Balmung or Eorzea by far, so achieving this aim means members of The Guiding Light also work as coordinators, both in-character and out-of-character, learning about the in-game passions and research of other individuals and Free Companies and finding ways to connect them to other researchers and to the wider public. Beyond roleplay, we also have PvE goals we'd like to achieve, so expect fundraising schemes like Aquapolis runs and Diadem, perhaps some gathering/crafting parties, and the usual content chasing to expand our understanding of the nuances of in-game lore! How to Join Up! [current as of Feb 25, 2017] So… full disclosure: We're small, really small, so joining means becoming part of the start-up and establishment of who we are. This also means, however, that you can really integrate yourself and your stories into our emerging story as a group. Additionally, since we're building our central identity, we aren't currently accepting alts into the free company, and would prefer active players and characters so as to build a consistent roleplaying center to grow from. If you're okay with that, and want to help us build our culture and achieve our goals, here's some possible in-character hooks-- Did you see one of our fliers at the adventurers’ guild? They’re very humble in appearance and go a little something like this: “To all and sundry! Seeking the altruistic and brilliant minds of Eorzea to gather in an enterprise poised to resist Garlean Empire in matters of intelligence, history, and technology! Inquire (always inquire!) at levedesk for more details!“ Are you someone who feels strongly about open access to information? Do you also view the Garleans’ main advantage as one of data consolidation? You could have run into one of our founders in the past and expressed these views, which means we’d be seeking you out now, asking if you want to join. Do you have a love for teaching and sharing your skills? Or maybe you are someone looking for mentoring instead? Perhaps you have come to inquiry at our newly renovated office to see what we could offer – and chose to stay. Are you a researcher? To get your message out into the realm, maybe you’re looking for backers, peer reviewers, or just anyone with access to a printing press (we have one!). Could we have met you at some ruin? You could be an independent or between-hires relic hunter, archeologist, or geologist seeking new employ, company, or protection for those dangerous nights afield. Being cursed by a relic is, of course, optional. As for out-of-character requirements: there isn't an application you need to complete or a website you need to join (though we do have Discord) to be part of TGL – we’re not of size enough to warrant paperwork. Just come visit us, roleplay and dungeon with us, and see if you'd like to stay. We'll talk OOC, of course, to set expectations – what you want to do and what we want to do – and to get to know you as a person. After all, we’ll be partners in scholasticism, both OOC and IC, after this! Have questions? Would you like to arrange a meeting to discuss the finer points of popoto farming? You can contact us via PM here on the RPC, posting here, or sending an in-game whisper to any of these characters below: C'io Behkt (Japan/NA timezone) Mikhai'a Rohnav (NA timezone) Some of our Rules! (Just setting expectations so we’re on the same page.) Do work with the lore. We love the established game lore, otherwise we wouldn't be doing this, and neither would you. But we also love Summoners, Black Mages, White Mages, and all the other highly "restrictive" (It's all just the old-timey magic, isn't it?) job titles out there. Is it possible to reconcile these two loves without contradicting lore? We certainly think so. If you're in doubt about a concept, or you just want help making it plausible, we'll help! We'll use our Encyclopedia Eorzea, comb through in-game text, and scour interviews with Koji Fox to find suggestions to help you play as the classes you love. Do participate, interact, make noise! A new group like ours needs the activity to be strong – greet one another, talk to each other, and be a part of the community. Don’t isolate yourself away from everyone else; more than just a study group, we want to be a family group that plays the game together as well. Do respect your fellow players and their characters. This should go without saying; if someone is roleplaying, avoid being disruptive if you’re OOC in the same area. Try not to immediately tell others what they can or cannot be – seek to work with them to make what they want possible, whether it is conflict of interest or a contradiction in the lore that’s the issue. This can be a fine balance, we know, particularly since we live in a world that is simultaneously MSQ and Hildibrand, but it is important to avoid powergaming, metagaming, and godmoding to gain advantages over others. We’re a free company that wishes to work with persons and groups outside of our own, so being responsible for how we treat others ourselves is critical to having our own concepts readily accepted by others. Do keep to “realistic” character development, skill, and passage of time. This one is pretty hard to nail down exactly as the game itself speeds through milestone events after 1577, supposedly mashing it all into a single year, but regardless of what measure of in-game time you follow, the basic idea is to keep development, skill and the story-wise passage of time for progression reasonable for a character in the world of Eorzea. What is "reasonable"? We'll decide that together through discussion, not never dictation.

balmung New Wandering Adventurer Seeking Connections
C'io Behkt replied to Kazukata's topic in Chronicled Connections
While these are not the only hours I can make happen, they are the most stable. I'll present them first in my timezone, GMT+8, and then translate them into EST/CST. Monday-Wed, starting at 8am to about 1pm. (Sunday-Tues CST/EST evening) Monday, Tuesday, Friday evenings. (Monday, Tuesday, Friday mornings) Saturday evening, every other week. (Saturday morning) Today, when I slept at 4am and woke up at noon (Nooooo) is an anomaly, though may sometimes happen, haha. (but typically on Thursday and Friday, which is why it is unlisted) -

C'io Behkt replied to Kazukata's topic in Chronicled Connections
I just saw this! But you already know that I am interested. The new information here seems to be your availability, which I have translated into my strange timezone and considered. Good news! I can make those hours work as well, . Other note is that I should talk to Kasi about that link shell. Hmm. I'll figure out where to go from here, how to add you in the game, and everything else in the morning. Time to (very late) sleep! -
I just read through your wiki page too, Kazukata, and I agree, C'io and Kazukata do sound like they would get along! (You all have such impressive wiki pages.) Furthermore, the perspective of an aged (he's not that old) veteran who not only survived two failed uprisings but also had to abandon his home to seek refuge on a whole other continent would be valuable to a C'io who hero worships the fallen soldiers of Cartenau but who has also never marched into the pitched battle of a full-scale war herself. We should play together! C'io needs friends she can be comfortable around. I realise now that I have spent so long focusing on employers that this is a very neglected aspect of her character that we can now address together, over time, .
-
Welcome to the forums and to Balmung! I hope your time here (and on Balmung) has been fruitful thus far! I, too, am a returning player looking for new contacts. Like S'hatsuho, C'io left her tribe several years ago, though not without lingering resentiment. She believed her father, the acting Nunh, had subverted the tribal order for his own selfish ambitions, and though she remained at first for her mother's peace of mind, she finally followed her own convictions and left to experience the world. You can sift through the basic details here on her the wiki: https://wiki.ffxiv-roleplayers.com/pages/C'io_Behkt What I find most compelling in your many hooks is the opportunity for C'io to see another Miqo'te undergo the transition from a tribal understanding of the world to the more cosmopolitan one demanded by the Eorzean city-state alliance. Hatsu would remind C'io of her former circumstances, but also to what happens when one maintains a mostly-healthy relationship with home. The differences in culture, geography, and circumstance could create an interesting interchange between them, as might the small similarities in ethics and in how each view Nunhs with caution. (Hey Val, .) C'io is no stranger to La Noscea, so travel to where Hatsu is currently comfortable for roleplay is not a problem. And later, when your character is ready to expand outward, C'io will happily help her avoid the many pitfalls of Ul'dah's kind of exploitative society, as well as show her the beauty of the desert. My own circumstance is that I live in a funny timezone (GMT+8), but can easily (and will be more regularly) appear during EST evenings, though my main time to do content (PVE, PVP, everything) is EST morning (my evening). Still, despite timezone and the problems it brings, I would very much like to pursue this friendship, if you'll have me.
