I like ooc'ly like talking about directions.. ^^ but the issue is most people i have met up with ic only meet one so it's kinda hard to ooc'ly plan further The few that go stay in touch seem to kip so many details on things I might as well not bother doing the rp .w. Like the other day I had agreed to teach someone how to use mrd skills ic'ly though this in my mind meant may a series of small mini rp sessions to get the training over with. To the other person this translated to one session and skipping the rest.

I think any time I've personally been walking anywhere I have gotten maybe one tell from another rp'er. Most of the time I get tells of people asking questions because as a rp'er it is assumed I am to be nice (though I am so of course I answer things when I know the answer xP). Never have I see where people who are walking actually are rp'ers myself though maybe I have poor timing and luck seems to be the daily song I sing for myself. My strange irregular times as my husband adjusts to his new job and training. Heck I'm in a rp free company and even when we had everyone logging in regularly there was their own little clicks. I think the only characters I've managed to meet up with more then once were always leadership characters in the FC's I was in >_> not sure that exactly counts as both times I was helping lead or attempting to. *really trying to think of any character besides two that I have met with more then once ic'ly* nope drawing a blank xP Tons of oh yeah hit me up or I'll message you and that never follows through ^^; I think one of the best rp sessions I had was some random one some time near the start of the games launch before I was even in a FC and had just a random group of travelers in the shroud that happened to agree to get along till they got to Ul'dah at least. Past that I have found most rp'ers I have encountered are very lazy and don't want to rp out plots or minor details, they'd rather work out things in ooc and just say ok this happened. xP great and all... but it kinda kills the mood for me .. maybe its just me and I expect too much detail or its silly to expect something to turn into multiple rp sessions when someone can just ooc mod it to say this happened over x amount of time. ~sorry rant done >_<; its early for me and i couldn't sleep... Goes and hides now~

Personally when my character has nothing better to do or no other tasks he's probably dealing with his craft or gathering skills. ^^ So I like this idea of some grand scale even though I'm not really one to set this sort of thing up either to be honest heh.

I sorta play a semi quiet rp character so i know what you mean by they can have a hard time. On the same note depending on the situation at hand and who he's talking/dealing with my character can be pretty social. Just not when having orders shoved down his throat. As far as plots not sticking and such I know how that is from years of rp'ing experience. I haven't really made any plots so to say or real plans outside of my own character's story. Though I tend to only really be able to get rp's going with those in my FC anyway. Outside of FC I've had little to no luck in finding people who are willing to take the time. Loads of rpc or just random rp people on my friends list, most either don't seem to be in the mood for a rp or just seem busy (or never log in cause half the rp people i have met seem to have like 304 characters). Lotta good a list does when no one takes a few moments even though they are normally like here let me friend you so we can rp later! xP As far as what you listed on the front.. I love ic dungeon runs :3 I try to get them in my fc though as of late we've been having a lack of members logging in so I can't exactly do that.. *sighs* My character needs little reason to really go on such runs normally I toss it up to something to do with the main plot of the FC im in (hunting for artifacts and relics). Also on the note of female verse male characters... I actually have mainly seen female rp characters ^^; least with the people i've come across heh. Either way im not changing the gender of the character I enjoy just for the sake of trying to find more rp's.

As a fyi you might want to remove SkyGuard from the list as the company is no longer. As a heads up.

saying the word hunt kinda scares me a bit already have enough people who try to track down my character not sure he needs more though my times are EST I tend to be on in the mornings around 9 or 10am (on and off as I have a wee one >w<) Around 3 till 5 or 6 pm is when I normally stay on, little ones nap time and all if my free time and it's when the husband is working ^^; Also on from 9pm till 12am est (after 12 being when my husband is off and he wants to run dungeons so I have to switch characters off ) ~though these times i may have to update soon for least a week due to his times changing from some training his work is getting ready to put my husband through xP when he's off work I tend to be on another character as he's not a fan of rps~ reading over that no wonder i commonly miss people heh

>w< I keep missing when the ones I've seen post that they can invite seem to be on. Ill timing on my half it seems ^^;

I'd offer help on your idea Lecard but I'd be one of the worse to help ^^; Considering it's a bit of a ongoing joke in my FC that my character was dropped on his head at birth from the way he acts compared to whats expected at times... Though on that same note I need to track someone down to even get in this LS still >w< if it's not one thing it's another in my life heh.

I know a few people from my FC are noble's or brought into the families. One was adopted into one of the four houses in coerthas, another is a sultan born. I don't play noble myself though as far as my character goes he has a bit of a history. Family wise his folk worked for one of the four houses up in coerthas and later he was a assistant carpenter as he worked for a wealthy merchant family in the Ul'dah region. I could track down both the house member and the merchant's daughter if you wanted to try and connect this idea of yours more ^^ I can't offer much as far as a family name or status as my characters a commoner to say the least

I keep missing on seeking out the open events that you have posted for the Grindstone as such is life >w< Though I love the ideas listed thus far and the ones Lost added. I think it could be fun to get some of the FC/LS's together and have a small competition of sorts (I say this is a good idea now till my leader barks at me that my character is one of the ones going.. >_> I hope that's not the case heh). Sadly though I don't have any other suggestions to add at the time and my headache probably isn't helping things. Either way best of luck with the new events and planning ^^

*never used addons for RP in other games though my experience with RP in other games is limited* >_< I don't see why you would need a add-on to help with rp or track it down (would assume that is what it is for if there was one?) I can almost walk anywhere on the server I'm on and find a rp going on >_>; Most are pretty open as well, only a few groups have I noticed seem to be against outsiders joining them.

can you copy and paste from the search information? I never bothered to check. o-o; (would make it a bit easier if you could). Guess I better get off my butt and finish that wiki page sometime here soon .. >_>

I wouldn't say boring if someone enjoys playing these types of characters. I've had my fair share of hero types on other rp communities. As far as FFXIV goes for a character I wouldn't call the one I play now a hero type. Though he still is generally good. But this could also depend on who is looking at the situation at hand. As far as the hero type of character is concerned there isn't really a right or wrong way to play it and even if you are doing what is a good deep or a good act someone may still view it as being a act of evil. I have come across this in my rp'ing experience where even though the character is almost to the point of doing everything in his/her power to be good that there is certain situations where the correct thing to do is questionable. I never did find playing the good guy boring though... I actually find playing the evil side of things a bit boring at times. I built my character to be pretty much .. normal as people have called him. He's not go risk life and limb to get the kitten out of the tree good but he has his morals and thoughts and will stick to them till the end. I like to consider him good because as a character I don't see him willingly going out and killing innocents without some damned good cause (there are some situations where there is good cause for this.. extreme as they may be). Also in my experiences if someone goes all out to play the hero they can be very fun o rp with ^^ though maybe I just enjoy the long drawn out speeches of right and wrong that some characters tend to give

Resistant captain: Salvius Dunois Salvius came from a family that aided the dragon wars, not being of noble blood any thoughts of acknowledgment were distinct fantasies. Even so the shadow his elder brother cast was a great one as his expectations were to follow or succeed his elder sibling. This led the over zealous young Elezen into leaving home and following a path that quickly derailed that ambition he had. Over the years he ran back into a familiar face, that being of Llaine Tetheros. The so called lost spark found something to cling to once more, a purpose. Salvius can be a bit standoffish upon first meeting but that fades in due time. Though somewhat reluctant to fight he has his reasons for this, the same reasons that would give him no pause to assist his fellows even if all odds were stacked against them. Though he doesn't like combat and tries to avoid it if possible doesn't mean he's not quick on his feet. Having plenty of prior experiences to joining Llaine on her quest to rebuild the fallen order.

I should rephrase i probably won't be on my rp character this evening ^^; husband is off work thus i'm on my character i keep with his. Though on the note of elezen rp'res .. i've seen one personally? Ina LS with elezen's but no ones really taking the step forward to get together (plus theres never more then like 3-4 on at a time).

Well seeing as things have calmed down for the stuff I was dealing with... I can finally focus on some rp'ing~! I can admit I'd love to try though I hope it doesn't spin off into rivals.. I think my character has enough things against him he doesn't need more rivals ...

Has your character changed from beta/release? Not really, I had it planned out during the beta. Appearance changed slightly. Have your expectations out of the RP community changed? Didn't have any expectations in mind to be honest. Never tried really playing on a RP server so I wasn't 100% sure what I was getting into. ^^;

Hrm.. never thought about most of the large events being on the weekends or not. Granted the FC I'm in is having a planned event this Saturday.. but we seem to have small events throughout the week now that we have a steady player base (hard to get everyone in the events but we try or at least hold small ones later to include those who were left out in something). Also doesn't help to plan things when people don't tell me their times when they can be on *glares at certain people in my company* you know who you are...

I'm pretty open to all forms of writing, I know some are not as talented as others (I group myself into this even if I'm told at times I am a good writer). I let some personal thoughts slid as knowing them as the player behind the RP character it can help describe the mood that might be on the other characters face or expression or tone of voice. now if they did this constantly and nothing but I might question them in a tell if they want any tips or if they really do want me to read into those personal thoughts... I try to be pretty flexible as I do work with a lot of players who are new to rp as well as ones that put my writing to shame easily. I know personally I use some ic personal thoughts when I have no action or emote for something. But it will be in combination with some sort of action that can probably easily be read with whatever the current mood of the conversation is or that my character has.

Pretty much past all of the possible spoiler bits in the story ^^; Just was curious if there was any other information that might be useful for someone with a character from that area or what not. Plus the lore behind that area thus far has been pretty entertaining. Also I've looked through that thread, guess I missed that little bit there ^^ thanks for pointing it out.

So I was curious if there was more information on the Ishgard area and the houses somewhere that I may have missed? Sure I have the information that I've gathered from the current game and what the different wiki's say but I was curious if there was anything else to go off of. After having someone show up in my Free Company with one of the main houses last names it sparked my curiosity a bit. Before I had just gathered enough information to form a back story to a character but after looking a bit I can't seem to find much on the city or the houses. Maybe I'm just not good at searching for this information ^^;

I still need to seek this group out, been so busy with things though >_

The limsa one seems to be more or less along the lines of sailor talk from what I've noticed (not sure the correct term for this.. so i'm sorry in advanced). Skipping over a few of the letters and such or leaving off g's Though some of the NPC's do seem to talk similar to the ones you find in Ul'dah as well. Could vary depending on background I suppose? ~just my five cents im no language or speech master that is for sure~ As far as a character with a accent I know I have a flair of the Limsa one in mine after he ended up living there nearly ten years as a young teen. I also know the captain of the FC I'm in has a heavy accept as far as that goes. I can't think of any other characters I've noticed with a accent yet or I'd point them your way so you can get more feedback. edit for examples or slight research i did during the beta to get my own characters accent correct with the region. As I said.. not perfect but it's what I gathered from the npc's anyway so I'd assume it is lore correct to the region ^^;

Once I get that potion (in 9 or so days..) and I can properly change my other character's race I might have to hunt you down in game. ^^ I think Rin would very much enjoy a history lesson even if it is mostly military. That is her sort of cup of tea.

Not really my intention to rile things further... let alone stood to that level. My original post on both parts was asking questions. I was more or less looking to see what the communities thoughts were. If was were really riled by these events I doubt I would have taken the time to post. Odds are I would have just switched servers and said to hell with RP shit heh. I was just looking for feedback really. Also I would like to point out I haven't said anything really nasty about either one of the three who seem to dislike or hate me. I mentioned the word of brat but that is hardly a bad word, let alone I did no name dropping in here as to prevent anyone else of thinking poorly of these players. As I said, simply wanting to see people's thoughts as things like this interest me.
