Those are amazing! I can't wait to see them colored!
-
I think that counts! And you are welcome to use Runa's boys as your contacts if you want!
-
I'm really not sure! Maybe an OOC LS would be good - a way for us to network together. What do you guys think? I know there are several individual FCs and LSs available, but I'm thinking of one specifically for networking plots on the criminal side of Ul'dah, so it would include everyone together. Is this something you guys would join if it was available?

Can I ask you for a Magitek history lesson when you have the time? *bats eyelashes*

Dominance Challenges: Seeker Cultural Conflict Explored
lady2beetle replied to Myxie Tryxle's topic in RP Discussion
One thing that I keep thinking of is the Amazon duels in Son of Neptune. The queen of the amazons was being challenged in a duel to the death, but her opponent was an ally of Gaia and so was coming back every day from the underworld to challenge her again. Every night she had to duel her with the knowledge that she'd eventually lose. Along those same lines, I imagine there would be a limit to how often a nunh can be challenged at when. If the nunh is challenged every night, then he's not going to be able to do his job. So it might be that once you challenge a nunh, you can't challenge him again for 1 month or something. Likewise, there may be a hold on challenges during times of war, because the nunh needs to be protecting his tribe. Of course, to keep a nunh from staying "at war" indeffinitely, you could just say that mating is also not allowed whiel at war, for the same reason. This is all wild conjecture, mind you. I have no evidence at all. -
FTR, I have a friend who I am trying to talk into tplaying FFXIV. He's pretty bitter and jaded about the modern MMO system, but I directed him to this page and he watched them all and now he's excited about joining us and can't get enough information about Eorzea. So, WTG guys! You are amazing.

I guess I was thinking from release onward. So we could make connections and explore them in the future. It would be ackward, for example, to find 3 different people were claiming the same storefront as their gang territory. Inevitable, probably, but if we connect here, we can get our stories straight and maybe even get a gang war or two going! *cough*Klarimel*cough*

In developing some character connections, and considering some character development options, I've become very interested in the underbelly of Ul'dah. So far, I know three of us who will be involved in the street gangs and the less legal side of the Platinum Mirage: myself, Klarimel and Zarek. Is anyone else interested or planning on that part of their character? If so, we should totally network! Personally, Runa returned to the streets after her time with the pugilists to get revenge on the bullies that beat the crap out of her. After returning their attentions in kind, she kicked them out of their territory, then discovered the dirty truth of street gangs - that for every greedy bullish gangster, there are 10 orphans and streetrats just trying to survive. Runa filled the power vaccuum of that particular territory and turned her new gang into the most organized, structured and efficient gang Ul'dah has every seen (due to the education and military training that she doesn't even remember having). So! That's Runa - pugilist, goldsmith, miner and small-time gangster. Who else plans on having a hand in the darker corners of Ul'dah! Come on, don't be shy!

How did I get here? Questions from a non-legacy newbie
lady2beetle replied to Amiabelle's topic in RP Discussion
Nuh-uh. Only those at the Battle of Carteneau (specifically, with or near the adventurers) were time-skipped. Those who weren't there weren't. There's actually a difference between the two cutscenes; in the non-legacy intro cutscene, your character wakes up on a cart that you've been riding on and a merchant comments that you're experiencing Aether sickness. You didn't just pop into that cart; you've presumably been riding in it with the merchant and some twins for a while. In the legacy intro cutscene, you literally pop into existence and walk into your starting city. Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding has been that as RPers, we have a little bit of flexibility in which camp our character is in. For example, I'm looking at playing Khaze'to's older sister, who would have been a warrior of light who got timeskipped. I'll create her normally and she will appear in the cart as if she were a normal hero, but I'll just adjust her story in my head. And on the flip side, there are legacy players that have decided that their characters have actually been around all this time. So, form a roleplay perspect, the community is letting each person chose the path for their character, right? -

You made my day a little brighter. Thank you. I WAS going to play Skyrim. But *some* people urged me to try the STEP mods and now it won't open. So I am spending my nights uninstalling it. Reinstalling it. Uninstalling again. Deleting forlders. Reinstalling again. I'm ready to put my fist through... something. Because you know when I finally get Skyrim working, p4 will open. *facedesk* -
So sad. *starts brainstorming ways to break her in* *scribbles notes* "Okay, we'll start slow. Mumble. You need to get on mumble when she is around. Let her hear the smexy brits and angry german talking. Yes. Good start." *nodnod*

Not to slip a tangent in here, but there's another angle to consider in the "why archer?" question. As a bard, you wouldn't want to wear heavy armor. You need the freedom to sing and, if necesary, dance. Also, the connection to conjury makes sense because you need to be able to add a touch of magic to your songs which support your allies. It follows that you aren't too far removed from a battle medic in some extreme cases. Again, you need the freedom of movement. So, you are singer with support abilities meant for battle. And when you sing, you might as well be waving a read flag, "Hey, look! I'm the idiot with the harp! Come kill me!" Wouldn't you want to be able to defend yourself? But hand-to-hand combat is a bad idea. You don't have any armor, remember? And your primary talent in magic is that of conjury and healing. I'd personally want to be able to defend myself from far away. Much easier to sing that way, then when someone is up in my face, putting his fist in my gut.

I love that man. It's like he's writing an e-mail to a friend, not a professional letter to a million potential customers.

Is it too late to inquire about joining you guys? I don't have a miqo'te yet, but I would like one at some point. -
Adriel stepped back to let the young woman choose as she glanced over her shoulder at the Miqo'te. "What's your pleasure, stranger?"
