  1. Time for me to say exactly what everyone else is saying..! Early mornings PST seem like the best times. I've had luck between 8am and 10am EST, so if you can get up early, or stay up late, you're probably doubling your chances of getting into Balmung. Good luck! Oh, and hello! :moogle:
  2. Oh, this looks amazing! <3 I'm all jelly. :cactuar:
  3. Thank you so much! This is so cool to know, now I'm going to ponder over which type of chocobo Eudalie has... oh the possibilities.. :3c
  4. Don't worry about switching FC's! I'm not even in one and I still have plenty of friends who RP, and am in a few linkshells full of people who do too. If you ever see me in game, please feel free to poke me! I'm usually in character and up for roleplay! So welcome to the wonderful world of Pokemon! Uhm, I meant roleplay! <3
  5. Awe, my maid of honor. I mean... If she married! Rivienne may marry Thaarus, but she will always be Yvel's waifu. <3 My, my.. Rivi's so popular! <3
  6. ... *picturing Eudalie in wedding dress* One day, maybe.. Or at least a flower girl dress for Rivi's weddning. > w <
  7. Yay for blue mage! Shall we celebrate with a feast? :3
  8. This reminded me of Coyote Ugly for some reason...
  9. Miss Eudalie would like to help you!
  10. Hello there and welcome back! :3 I'd love it for my character to meet both of your's, actually. As a naive healer herself, I think Eudalie may enjoy speaking with Oria, and as a Keeper clueless about tribal origins, I think she'd enjoy learning more from Bancroft. Or just feeding him. She likes doing that too. Please feel free to poke me in game if you ever spy me! Or I'll poke you. :moogle:
  11. Do you have any idea how many times I pop into this thread and just try to THINK about this? A lot. ;;
  12. Uhm... Aesthetically speaking? I'd most likely roll hyur - miq'ote. And with the observation that the child would take on more traits of the mother, I'd say hyur mother. This is a thing that has to do somewhat with the models of the game. I like the tribe mechanics of the mi'qote and how they can play with characters who are vaguely related. However, there's something genuine about hyur that I like, and I don't really need the feline ears or tail. I'm more attached to the mi'qote female model faces. I prefer them over the other races as a personal preference, so if I were able to play a hyur with the same face as my mi'qote, I most likely would've taken that. ...That was probably a weird answer. ^ ^;
  13. Generally, if someone is kind or particularly stood out communication-wise, in the sense that they aren't being rude or mean, they'll usually get my commendation. Otherwise, as a healer, I'm biased toward giving my commendation to the tank. Especially if they were very good at their job. However, cranky tanks don't get much from me. Neither will a lot of complaints. If a DPS stands out to me, in that they do their job really well, I'll give it to them. Again, it's the personality that wins my commendation most of the time, not skill. I dislike the silent parties and the whiners, and the unsolicited advice very much. It feels very rude to me. ;;
  14. Gonna chime in and say I agree. I think healers DPSing is being bull-poopy, at least for WHM's. DPS isn't our job--hence us being healers, not DPS. One of few exceptions is when you're a level 50 running lowbie dungeons--then you have plenty of breathing room to DPS. Otherwise, you should focus on mana management and keeping the party topped off. You never know when someone might fail to dodge an AOE and nearly be one-shot. You have to be ready to heal any time, so you shouldn't get yourself stuck casting DPS spells in Cleric Stance or run out of OoM. The damage you do as a healer is so minimal that your efforts are usually better spent healing. If the DPS in your party aren't undergeared or just bad, they should be killing mobs at a decent speed regardless and you shouldn't be required to help them do their own job. I never DPS as WHM and I have to say I've gotten my fair share of compliments and commendations. On the other hand, when I've leveled tank and DPS alts, I've been in parties where people have died or we've even wiped because the healer decided they were more interested in DPSing than healing and forgot to pay attention to HP bars or wasted all their mana. For the love of all that is good, if you're a WHM please don't DPS unless you know what you're doing and you have absolutely nothing else to do. Let people complain that you aren't DPSing (though I've never seen that happen in a dungeon, at least not on just trash mobs). DPSing isn't your job. (Exceptions being stuff like Titan's Heart, Garuda's plumes, the bombs in Brayflox HM, etc. Anything that needs to be killed in a certain time limit or it will wipe the party, you can certainly assist with attacking.) It's so good to see you guys say this. I'm nearing lvl 50 on my first job, which just happens to be WHM, and I've only been with the game about two months now. As one of those WHM who's learning a lot about how to play and the schemes of each dungeon, I DO focus on healing. I'd like to think I'm doing a decent job as a healer, but it's a bit nerve-wracking to get in a PUG group and have people complaining about the WHM not DPSing. So thank you! And on that note, as a WHM... I always choose good tank. I've seen one or two amazing tanks, and they have made me starstruck.
  15. I loved reading everyone's views on this. ^ o ^ I'd have to say Eudalie's views of the genders are equal; she's very naive and soft-spoken, so I think she tends to come off as young and proper, but she knows that both men and women have the potential to be strong, confident, etc. She also has a tendency to fret for both genders equally. As in, someone going to battle is going to be in danger, no matter the gender. That worries her greatly. Someone starving is someone who needs food, regardless of gender. As far as flirting and dating and such, Eudalie is nervous and unaccustomed to most conducts of such, and is very naive about some implications. However, when she does recognize flirting, she reacts the same to either gender -- nervous and flustered. Uhm.. I guess I could've just stopped at "equal." ;;
  16. Well, I can't speak for Free Companies, but I can tell you that Balmung and its roleplayers are very welcoming to fresh blood. I started up in Balmung a little over a month ago, and I made friends very quickly. There are a lot of roleplayers who are open to just about anyone coming in! So please don't worry about not getting roleplay. There's plenty of it, and a lot of it is open. I've instigated RP right on the street, and many have done the same with me. All in all, I'd like to say welcome to Balmung! :moogle:
  17. Eudalie wandered about the academy for some time, attempting to keep a low profile with her head ducked down and her ears flat. She assumed information about the class would be somewhere around here, and if she could only find it, she wouldn't need to be a bother to anyone. After some very deliberate reading through flyers and notices, she spotted a familiar name. Garrett. Her face lit up as she neared the notice and folded her hands in front of her in false prayer. The show of manners met none but an empty corridor, but she did not waver until she finished scanning the information. Eudalie took a step back and released a great breath. Relevant skills? What could she possibly have to offer in the class's excavation? She tilted her head and twisted her mouth into a crooked purse while debating her quandary. After a short bout of pacing, her ears perked and she leaned onto the bulletin board, prepared to answer. "Let's see," she mumbled to herself. A chuckle ensued as the quill scratched at the paper. In loopy print, there was written: Eudalie N'aal - Healer, prepared to react to accidents & mend wounds; Able & willing to supply meals to dig members. - I hope to learn more of our history and get my hands dirty! Eudalie peels away from the board and smiles at her ink-worn signature. She stifles a giggle behind one palm and turns on her heel, wondering if anyone will find her pun funny while she strolls.
