There are certain jobs, like Black Magic, that are illegal. That doesn't mean you can't be a black mage. That said, Thaumaturgy is totally legal. All of the base classes are legal and free to walk around in any city they want. The Grumpy Garlean up there is right though. Your RP should be what you want it to be. Don't worry too much about what your actual class can and can't do.

Welcome to the RPC. I've found the easiest way to get into random rp with people is to head to one of the many organized rp events on Balmung. Throw your character in there and just start talking. Don't be afraid to make the first move. That said, it's much harder to engage in RP if the character is an ornery loner. That works well with an established group, but not really for random pick up rp. And if you see Tadir West hanging around, feel free to be surly at him because of the changing world.

I don't think there has been any official lore released to support it, but I see no reason that this character background couldn't work. Unless the area is fervently anti-miqo'te, I'd think you could make a go of it. From what I've seen, it isn't. Non-humans definitely weren't well thought of during the War of the Lions, but we also didn't see any that weren't monsters. In 12, Dalmasca seems to be an extremely diverse and accepting area. In FFXIV we've seen Hyur, Bangaa, Seeqs, Viera and Moogles. It would seem strange for Miqo'te to be ostracized. So I say go for it.

Welcome! And there is nothing wrong with playing a bartender. I'd consider using crafting classes, but it's not necessary. If you DO level up to 30, which is pretty easy, you can have a chocobo that will protect you as you go about your business.

I'm on the West Coast, but mainly play after midnight, so I find it hard to find a group to regularly play with. Family and work tend to get in the way of normal playtime hours. If you're on Balmung at all, Tadir West is always looking for drinking buddies or people to go exploring with.

Totally forgot all my characters have at least two Fantasias laying around. I used one last night on a Balmung alt to get Tadir's look back. I'll be name changing him to the correct name tonight. Tadir West is back on Balmung. Now to find people to play with. ^__^

Hey everyone. It's been a long time, but I'm finally back on FFXIV. I'm not sure if anyone I knew from the founding of RPC is still around, but if so, I hope to see you all here. Tadir has been moved over to leviathan to play with rl friends, but I'm trying to create a new character on one of the RP servers. What server are most people playing on these days, and is it possible to create characters on that server? Once I find a server, I'm looking for a decent rp guild. I've been involved with this game since beta and have been rping the whole time. Any suggestions on servers/guilds I should be keeping my eye on? Tadir West

I was involved with the creation of it, and still have the drafts of the very first paper published in my files. I'm extremely proud of all of you. Keep up the fantastic work.
