I had an evil alt. She got her head cut off a few weeks ago. I miss her. Armi isn't evil AT ALL. Not even a little. Loki is neutral so I can talk about her. Loki's current morally grey area's is that she uses her contacts to keep the Night Blades from getting into too much trouble with the Grand Companies and other law enforcement. Bribes is not uncommon, neither is sleeping with a hire up in order to guarantee he turn a blind eye. Problem is, my whole free company is Morally Grey. That's kind of the whole point

I use it as a pause break, since Armi talks rather uniquely and it's hard to convey in text. Normal: I don't think I know what that is, can you tell me? Armi: Ah... I don't think I know what... that really is... but... if you want to tell me, I mean...I'd like to know or... I've tried dashes, but I don't think they have a long enough kind of start/stop Armi has in her speech.

Armi was taught by the Priesthood. It was pretty much necessary when she was priestess. She took to it slowly, since she started at 12, and wasn't very good at it till 17.

Armi doesn't flirt. At all. She doesn't even understand the concept. Armi makes tea and tells people the stories of her very mean plants and how DOMINATION JOE doesn't like anyone and she's pretty sure JOE the plant has tried to kill her twice. And poor Heloise... she's new and not adjusting well. Armi keeps trying to water her, but she still cries in the corner about how no one likes her. She then asks many questions because people are full of interesting stories! and then names inanimate objects because important things should have names. ... 5 people have confessed their love to her, I guess it's working?

Most of my FC don't go to the Quicksand for a multitude of reasons. Despite it being a hub, it can be very clique-y. We love new people if you want a solid group to interact with, regardless of level, give me a buzz and I can let you into our ooc shell.

Can I ask HOW you're so abrasive? I'm like super blunt and honest myself, but I generally don't have a problem with meeting new people, so I'm wondering what you mean by it? I'm really really opinionated and very outspoken and not really afraid of speaking my mind, but I don't think I'm mean and am generally approachable. What, specifically is your issue?

The slutshaming post was great. I've had more than one person judge Loki oocly for "being a whore." Hell, I've had people say it about Armi since she's had a few boyfriends (And Armi is definitely no where near a "slut"). I have to roll my eyes at people who think "You're character is a slut" and look down their noses at you.

^ That's why I'm not rping mine in game at all. Ours is all forum based so it's an easy retcon if something we say doesn't work. I have Langli already, I'm considering getting her original Miqote self to 50 before Heavensward (Since she would be a monk anyway)

It does suck but Balmung is really an effing fantastic server that's worth the wait.

Since I'm planning on maining Machinist once Heavensward hits, I just decided not to do my relic for my Bard. I am considering doing it for my Warrior since it will always be my alt class, but I haven't really decided yet. I mean... I don't have a lot more to spend my soldiery on... I have most of my WAR stuff and recently picked up a bunch of gear for my soon-to-be level 50 SCH. Ugh, I keep waffling back and forth.

Me, my fiance, and a friend of mine are all playing our Au Ra in forum RP in order to just get their personalities right and have an excuse for them to join the Night Blades once they are actually released. Our backstories are basic enough for any race (We're all playing a family unit - 2 brothers and one sister), but we'll be adding in details as lore is released. Since we have one of our players traveling to Othard and the story is from his point of view, it's easy enough to leave details out because a Keeper Miqote wouldn't no the nuances of the Au Ra anyway Langli was a Miqote in 1.0. She was young - 16 - and an underground prize fighter in Ul'dah. Her personality was over-the-top exuberance. She was eager and loud and hyper and somewhat annoying, but she was a loyal girl with big dreams. I shelved her in 2.0 - I thought she was cute and she was fun to play, but I'm not really much of a Miqote person in general. Most of that personality and back story is staying. I'm aging her to 18 but she's going to want to become a big star on the Golden Saucer circuit somehow (If there's fighting, then that way, Triple Triad would also work) and will be one of her main motivations for wanting to move. We are kinda basing our three characters off of Samurai Champloo. Rin = Jin, Arato = Mugen, and Langli = Fuu. It'll be hella fun.

My friend also rolled her Miqote in 1.0 and just had her grow up in Ul'dah. She was quick to say that her's family had lived in Ul'dah for generations and, while her great grandparents may have more traditional Keepers, that has since been replaced with a more city lifestyle. She actually got the idea from me. I'm a 3rd generation American on my dad's side. My grandmothers parents were Basque and my Grandfathers parents were Romanian and both sides immigrated to the states in the late 1910's/early 1920's. My great grandparents aren't that far removed from me really, but I know nothing of either culture and don't even know the language either side spoke. My grandmother says my great grandma could speak 4 languages - French, Spanish, Basque, and English, but she knew only one of them - English. It's super easy and quick to just do as the Romans do once you are ingrained in it and it totally makes sense to me many miqote moved to the cities and just... learned that culture. My friend has actually been harassed over the decision, that she went the "lazy" route. I have to disagree, I don't think it's lazy at all to go that route and I really don't believe she is playing a Hyur with cat ears. Her character is a Miqote, it wouldn't be right if she played a Hyur, shes just.. a different one. To me, it makes sense there's a lot of Miqote to immigrated. Why wouldn't there be? People in the real world immigrate all the time. (As an aside, we should probably make a Miqote thread or revive an old one cuz...)

Polyamory is somewhat common in the rp community but it's like SUPER common in FFXIV (I'm guessing because of how many players play Miqote and the Miqote backstory in general). Armi was even in a polyamorous relationship for a very short while (Though she had no idea that's what it was, she just did what her Miqote partner was comfortable with) but currently she is in a very happy monogamous relationship with a Hyur and was in a monogamous relationship with a Miqote for a few months before that. It exists!

It's definitely an issue. I think it would actually be a valid thing for Lili to put in her guide - concerns and such. People who only want to erp are everywhere in roleplay and if that isn't your goal it can be hard to know who is and who isn't.

It's true, people DO do that, but it's actually pretty easy to sort them out by using tricks for anyone who tries to just get with your character (Trying to get into a relationship too fast, falling in love with your character in one meeting, pressuring you for erp, etc etc). As someone who is completely open to the idea of polyamory irl, I'm even concerned about the people who only use it in roleplay to get their rocks off, but it's like that with anything sexual and you just need to be wary of the red flags

It's not. This is all just conjecture. I can SEE Keepers being more into polyamory. But if you can't, that's fine. Lore can be interpreted in many ways.

Eh, they can say a lot of things to justify it, doesn't make it true HOWEVER Zyrus is right, it's good to see some non-het pandering for once. If we're talking about the fact it was romantic love between two women on a kids show, great strides were made that that even got in. If we're talking about it PURELY from a story front, it felt phony to me

I'm really big into more LGBT representation in media and go to protest rallies for equality and all that jazz. I have to make sure people know this because when I say I felt like the Korra ending was legit pandering people call me a homophobe. To me the whole thing was jarring and felt like they were trying to earn cool points.
