Doc listened intently to all that was around him, cocking his head occasionally at the more interesting peices of information. "Mercenaries, scholars, and businessmen... and women" he said outloud, probably originally intending it to be an internal thought, he spoke it anyway as had become habit over the years. "The people here -are- interesting, I mean I had expected more tales of sword and sorcery, great deeds that bards across the land would sing of. But no matter, at very least there isnt a lawyer... that is of some solace to me." he chuckled, amused with himself. Doc sipped from his glass, sat for a moment then slapped his forehead. "Stupid, stupid, I totally forgot... Im getting old, old and stupid." As interesting as these conversations may have been to him, the main reason he was here had actually slipped his mind completely. He sat up straight, patted down his suit and spoke in an even tone which anyone nearby could have heard. "Sorry to interupt... could any of you fine fellows... or fellas? Is there a feminine term for the word fellows or is it just..." Doc shook his head seemingly to push this tangent out of his mind. "Anyway, yes could any of you fine people tell me what this city is called?" Doc rubbed the back of his head, "I am a little... new to the area." he smiled slightly unconvincingly, like he had recieved a gift from a distant aunt that was horrible but you had to smile and say it was lovely anyway so as not to hurt any feelings.

The door of the Drowning Wench burst open with some force and Isha "Doc" Daifu stood in the doorway with a suprised expression on his face. He looked quizzically at the doorframe. "Hmm..." he said to noone in particular. "Perhaps that was a bit too much force to make a subtle entrance." Doc was speaking to himself outloud and was completely oblivious to the stares that the patrons were now giving him. "Perhaps... no... yes, try again..." Doc nodded, again to noone and left closing the door behind him. A moment later the door slowly opened. Doc grinned triumphantly, "There... better." and he entered the establishment and looked around. "Hmmm, an inn, or tavern of some kind, this place certainly is interesting, I wish I had visited sooner. Then again I don't know if I would have liked it before, but now... people..." He smiled, "Yes people, wonderful fascinating people. This is a good place to be." One of the staff, who obviously was very brave, inquisitive or just hadnt been paying attention, approached him. "Welcome sir, can I get you anything?" Doc looked the woman up and down and smiled in the way a person would smile after just completing a difficult puzzle. "No... oh wait! Yes... some ummm..." he looked around at what other people were having, most of it being alchohol based he dismissed the thought, "Well ill have some water. Could you bring it to my table please, ill be sitting..." He pointed to a place at random which happened to be quite near where whiskyjack and the others were now chatting. "There... seems good, yes, noisy, not much room, perfect. Over there please." The woman smiled and left while Doc pulled up a chair at the small table that was free. He then decided to sit and listen for a while, there was no better way to get the lay of the land than to listen to idle chatter and gossip.

I was thinking of either reactivating FFXI myself or playing some WAR but Im still unsure, I might wait till The Old Republic comes out before picking up another MMO, assuming that is out before FFXIV of course, may not be.

What are you playing at the moment to ease the wait until FFXIV graces us with its presence? At the moment I'm trying to slowly get through Red Dead Redemption, excellent game but its taking me a while to get through it for various reasons. Anyway to the masses, what are you doing to keep yourself occupied?

Limsa-Lominsa most definitely, my main character will have ties to the seafaring side of things. However, I am going to create at least 3 characters so I may have one that starts in each city. We shall see.

I think we can probably cover a few interesting topics for a podcast now really. Once the game goes live of course we could do it more frequently but as it stands now I think we could get a decent discussion going.

Ive gone with option 1, but I agree they are both valid examples so I think merging the two might be the way to go.

As a general rule I get tired of some games but RP is something that allows the game to far outlive its shelf life. I have stayed with a game I didnt enjoy playing anymore just for the people and the rolplaying stories. Its all about making friends with people and having fun RP Preferences: --Are you willing to RP a fight scene in game? Im going to buck the trend here and say for the most part no. The only fighting I would be happy to do really would involve scripted outcome. I dont mind RPing the fight details on the fly but it would have to be worked out before hand what is going to happen in the end. --What is your preferred method of combat? (/randoming, skill based, etc) Well seeing as I would prefer the outcome predecided the combat would involve a discussion on who will win lol. --Are you willing to take major injuries in game? (ie limb loss) Only really if its something I have in mind for my character. --Are you willing to let your character die permanately? Not in the forseeable future no. --Are you willing to RP romance in game? (ie Level of romance willing to go) Nope --Views on chat functions (IC vs OOC)? I like /s to be IC as is normally the case but I also prefer guild chat to be IC also, worked out pretty well in FFXI so thats how id like it to be again. I just feel it gives more of a chance for the whole group to RP together instead of just the odd meeting/event. --Are you looking for Cross-guild Rp? I have to say, although I barely played around with it, from what I could tell the summoner job was a tad... underwhelming, sure the avatars looked cool but you never really got that summoner feeling from the job. Im just wondering if anyone has any ideas how they would implement a summoner job into the game. Would it be a pet job? A one hit uber spell for each summon instead? OR something else?
