First of all, +1'ing this. Roughly fifteen reputation boosts for the original post, a handful of very appreciative PMs, three friends requests, and eight pages of generally constructive discussion indicate that this thread was useful and informative to quite a few people. Are you really attacking me for giving a rep point to someone who disagrees with you? I'll ignore that blatant hostility toward a differing opinion for a second... It may just be me but I don't see how that was hostile in any way, merely stating that only a rare few actually feel the way that you do, while many found it to actually be a rather interesting take on things. If you're this easily offended, I kinda wish I'd gone ahead with my Lalafell Scholar that travels Eorzea collecting interracial "fiction". Not for anything pervy so much as that I like pushing peoples' buttons at times. Yours seem particularly easy to push.

As a Miqo'te roleplayer I'm inclined to agree. Why is this there such a huge focus on this? It's bordering creepy, in my most humble of opinions. Yeah, 'creepy' sums it up rather nicely. I'm not going to point fingers but it's no coincidence that some of the folk getting really into this discussion are the same role-players trying to mate with any and every female miqo'te comes their way. One of my close friends has already given up trying to role-play a miqo'te because not one, but three different 'nunh' characters sent her messages asking if she wanted to bed them. Perhaps it's unfair of me to stereotype but I'm beginning to think the majority of 'nunh' role-players are simply embracing the role purely to get their rocks off. Like it or not, this is the sort of thing that needs to be addressed early on before it festers and ends up driving a wedge between various groups within the community. There's a time and a place for ERP and that is between two consenting and mature partners in private chat channels, not hanging around Costa del Sol whispering passing players asking if they want to be impregnated. This is commonplace in just about every single game with a degree of an RP community. ERPers are the black sheep of our large, diverse family, but as with most families, we can't really get rid of them. They come to our family reunions and eat our food, even when we make it clear that we really don't like them too much. If there is a single angle for them to, as you say, get their rocks off, they will. In this game, it just so happens to be the Nunh aspect. In CoH, if you went into Pocket D in leather and fishnets, you'd get a dozen tells from S&M types. They were rampant there. In WoW, it was half-naked Night Elves on inn room tables. And so on and so forth. But I don't really get where this is relevant to the discussion. This is no different than wanting to know the intricacies of a race's backstory. These details are worth thinking about on the off-chance that you may need to know these things for your own character.

I only played ACN to 10 for my THM, so I don't have much of an opinion on this, but you do realize that ACN is relatively new. If they find that ACN is out-classing CNJ in what is considered to be the latter's forte, they may nerf it or change the mechanics of it once the server woes are out of the way. The bazillions of people playing ACN at the moment are probably giving them plenty of data to determine it too.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I've been able to bait RP just by using custom emotes whenever I'm stationary for any length of time. It works wonders. If someone's seated at an adventurer's guild/inn/tavern-y place, more than likely they're aiming to RP. Casuals don't really do that.

It's safe to assume that aether persists in the body at least a short time after death, as there's a story quest in the THM line where a certain incident occurs where bodies are found "drained of all aether". That doesn't say whether or not the aether sticks around until you're buried and then leeches out to return to the planet or what though.

So... is that saying the expansion's only happening in Japan's data centers? Because, if so, that's kinda annoying.

Yeah, even worse when you finally get into queue for a few seconds and then it pops up a window over that with the 1017. It gives you that shred of hope and then snatches it away from you with a gleefully malicious cackle. I'm torn between rage and sadness.

I think it was on the early days of CoH that the devs had the friends list say that, before they changed it to "your friends list is empty", simply because they said it sounded mean the other way.

Anyone having an issue with it not properly scrolling while you're chatting/RPing, as new stuff gets added to it? The scroll bar's as far down as it'll go.

Somewhat absurdly high prices on things makes me fear the inevitable arrival of gold, er, gil farmers unfortunately. But I'm still really, really looking forward to it, and what deMontalia manages to do with one, having went nuts -- creatively nuts -- on the housing interiors in EQ2. FreelanceWizard wasn't a bad architect either in our base on CoH. *rubs paws together* Mwahaha. It shall be glorious.

It's a US number, so 1 is the region code, which you've got on there already. So, Singapore's exit code which is 001 or 008 and then just the number you have.

Did they completely switch over the site and all? I can't seem to find the old login site where you had to put in your security key and all, just the newer one with a simple username/password login. The other had all the payment options and list of games, while the newer one has little to no info at all.

Mine's more stubborn than that. I've got to actually throw it off guard by doing something else, like playing a time-waster game -- Burnout Paradise or something. Next thing I know, I'll be having ideas filtering through the cracks, then it's just a matter of not finishing that one quest or that one race before I jot it down lest I forget what it was. *nod*

Yeah, that separate account thing is doing my head in. On the old square enix account site, I've got the original FFXIV registered and all, and all my credentials are right. Then this new one doesn't have any of my credentials but ARR is registered.

I know a lot of people that get tats to cover big surgical scars or even integrate them into the design. I'd shop around, talk to some tattoo artists, and let them give you some suggestions. If they have something you like, feel free to suggest changes to the designs. Most I've met are pretty easygoing but if you run into the rare one that's anal about their designs, just walk.

I'm a grump though. While I'll accept a "grats" for stuff like gaining a level, don't expect me to toss you one back. I don't like feeling like I'm obligated to give people a pat on the head or something.
