  1. One last T9 picture because as one might have noticed, we're missing someone! As we can't have the picture without our dragoon I have seamlessly edited him into the previous photo.
  2. Also T9 spoiler! Was asked to upload the 4k one. Edit: Totally just reposted Yangh's pic! Put the right one in the spoiler now.
  3. "What an enticing feast." says Yhash. "What the hell are you two doing in my house?" Says Popoko. I don't know where I was going with this.
  4. Beautiful. Zona joining the gang! I'll get them all eventually.
  5. Tried to get Nandi to join. He can't get the handwaving part down right. I swear thats mandervilling. Someone pulled before I could get a better one
  6. I'm sorry, I've been unable to upload for a bit. Exantraux helping fight the good cause. N'taeyl just crafting. Lazy. Though it does make my head shiny.
  7. I'm genuinely disappointed only one option has a kiss in it. I'm not gonna even consider the other two when it means missing the one opportunity to ever have me and my partner's characters kiss in the entire game.
  8. I'm having one of these in 1 week! Excited about getting the slot!
  9. Congrats to the winners! Thanks for holding the giveaway , and to Kage for the extra contribution to it!
  10. Note the use of "race" in the description - males are rare in both Seeker and Keeper clans of the Miqo'te race. In that regard, my personal interpretation of why the mating ways of miqo'te in general ended up the way they did in regards to mating with several partners is that rather than being programmed to some degree in their DNA to be interested in multiple partners, its the natural instinct to want to maintain the existence of their species. Seekers -> There are few males, finding the one with the best traits to sire the children will give the best chance of survival. Keepers -> There are few males, being open about it and having as many children as possible will give the best chance of survival. Simply two different reactions to the lack of males in the species. Now I will be the first one to admit thats an extremely short sighted summarized version of the view, just so thats said, but I didn't want to go into too much detail about it here. In addition both tribes have been described to have subset tribes where the rules can vary drastically, especially in the Keeper societies where there are smaller isolated tribes, traditions have very little overlap for some. Oh and err... sorry, thread derailing. This turned into more of a post for the miqo'te mating thread. I will be on topic now! Appreciate the thread on the subject, while I don't particularly like RPing it myself, I do have real life experience with it.
  11. If memory serves male keepers are significantly less common than female ones. Its implied they have multiple females with one male, simply because of a neccessity to keep the tribe going, due to small tribes with a heavily unbalanced gender distribution. One part that refers to this is: "Rarely do even the largest Keeper of the Moon families have more than two or three sons. This is not by choice. Nature merely sees to it that more females are born to this race." From the miqo'te naming conventions. This doesn't really refer to love, but its likely what sourced the belief that multiple females would have children with the same male in Keeper society. As others said as well, sorry if I misunderstood the question.
  12. .... brb going to make placeholder character. Nevermind it was cleared out. It's mine now, though. He shall be my transvestite male Au Ra.
  13. I'm terrible at titles! So after having some thoughts I figured out I really wanted a thread to do some more speculation on Au Ra, so might as well make it! The intent of this thread is to do speculation on lore, biology, origins and similar specifically about Au Ra! Anything you wonder about goes, bring it up! This thread has nothing whatsoever to do with wether you like the race or not as we've seen it, so please take that to the other thread specifically for that purpose. For example! How do they hear? Lizard-like holes in the side of the head, probably, with hair covering it because it wouldn't fit the aesthetic they go for, but if you have other theories I'd love to hear them! If they really are a hyur or elezen / dravanian hybrid race, how much do you think the minority could lean towards either, not talking in game model here, just storywise! Could there be a group leaning much more towards lizard like people, having more scaley skin, slit eyes, thin tongue, et cetera? Heck, maybe we'd even get them in game as a subset of an enemy faction in the expansion then! If they're a draconic hybrid what are their agespans like! Dragons have been confirmed to live tens of times longer than Elezen by the Ishgardians, after all! And why the heck would Ishgard let you in on the main storyline if you have even a little bit to do with dragons! What I want to go more in depth on right off the bat, however, is the theory that I've seen some mention before but not gone in depth on, handwaving it off, namely: What if the Au Ra are more demonic in nature rather than draconic? Now, I know the obvious point here: They are most likely draconic as the expansion ties heavily into Ishgard and their conflict with the dragons! But as I thought about it more, I noticed some points, and realised that this might hold more credence than we might think at first glance. First of all, as far as we are aware, dragons are not mammals, smaller similar creatures lay eggs, and they are unlikely to be physically compatible for cross breeding as a direct result (not that mammals being able to crossbreed is particularly likely, but its much easier to swallow than if they're not). Second: The "heretics" have already proven that they can turn into dragons. They have magic to do it. We see this repeatedly in Stone Vigil and Snowcloak, and as far as we can tell its a permanent change. Why would they have any desire to breed into hybrids in the first place? Those being the two main points about why its unlikely for them to be draconic hybrids in my eyes. It seems to be a few things that draw similarities to voidsent in the previews we saw as well! The horns! Now, it suddenly struck me: The horn styles for Au Ra are very similar to those of voidsent! For example: Male: Sorry about the quality of the second picture, I will update the thread after I take another one, but I think it serves the purpose of displaying similarity to some degree. In addition, the way their scale patches frames their face, strikes me as similar to the facial structure of those voidsent as well. Now for the female! Now, while admittedly much larger, I think its pretty clear that the succubi horns are very similar to the displayed Au Ra female horns in shape. Now aside from the horns visually, I also don't personally have a hard time believing a voidsent hybrid to be plausible in the universe of the game. A lot of voidsent seem to be largely aether based, or our knowledge of how they reproduce is just dubious at best. We know they can forsake their physical body to possess our current races in order to bestow upon them power, and take absolute control over them (Ref: Thaumaturge storyline). Could a union between a possessed individual like that and an un-possessed, or two possessed even, result in some sort of voidsent-like mutations in the offspring due to corruption or aether or some such? Maybe even a village or larger area on a different continent could have been corrupted in order to result in a large amount of such children appearing. This would also give Yugiri another reason to hide her appearance in a land she knows little about, since voidsent are almost universally looked down upon, and she might be afraid of being labeled a monster or heretic just for minor traits of them! Thats my initial thoughts on that theory, anyhow! Obviously feel free to give opinions, tear mine apart for lore fallacies since I will assume I made some, or just generally call me an idiot! Actually please don't do that last one, even if you think so I'd like this to be a friendly topic. If you read through this, as its certainly the longest post I've ever written on here, thank you very much, I appreciate it greatly!
  14. After thinking about it for a bit, I had a series of ideas pop into my head that I think make some degree of sense, and decided that it would probably be better to make a dedicated thread for lore / biology speculation, so I'm gonna go do that, rather than bring it up in this thread which is more to discuss opinion on the race.
  15. .... brb going to make placeholder character. Tried that back when we first saw Yugiri's tail, its taken. Completely unrelated to anything so far in this thread, but that might be a good thing at this stage! How do they hear? My theory right now is tiny holes at the side of the head like a lizard, that will no doubt be hidden by hairstyles much like where hyur ears would be on miqo'te. But tiny side holes are also not very aesthetically pleasing for the look they go for! Except on the wedding hairstyle, I could see the forbidden zone. It was horrifying I tell you. Really I just want to question other details like that if people can think of any! Do you think they have long lizardlike tongues? Probably not! But they might sneak it in on one clan much like they snuck fangs in on keepers of the moon!
  16. No! Get back here you, I worked hard making that! *runs off to get candy back*
  17. Happy holidays! *noms holiday candy* Still not sharing.
  18. Thats a really obvious point that entirely slipped my mind during the last post (a good one as well, mind you). I know the timelines are kind of muddled with class / job vs main story (Hi nins where they're already here at level 30 for new characters!), but it would be pretty strange for them to leave timeline messed up like that without it even being outside of the main story quest.
  19. I know the pain; my Au Ra would actually be the 5th character who goes through the main story for me, but I'm willing to endure that, haha. I've been thinking... the main story doesn't really make sense from an Au Ra perspective. Do you think there's a possibility that Au Ra might have their own story? If that were the case, perhaps using Fantasia wouldn't be possible with them (?). It's just a thought. Well isn't the basis of the story from the first cutscene: You're a traveler from *Undefined* Who may or may not even have ever been to your starter city of choice before? That can be slapped onto pretty much anything. Granted its been a while since I watched it, so feel free to correct me if my memory is off. I'd expect at most a handwave, and maybe some altered dialogue to let them know they're a-okay with the au ra, then move on as usual. A full on new storyline for them right from level 1 is probably too much work, but there will likely be acknowledgement of their existence in 2.5 at earliest, and most certainly some degree of discussion in the 50-60 storyline. Not to mention that from a business standpoint, they really want as many people as possible to fantasia to the new race, preferably also fantasia back when the new-race dazzle wears off! Edit: Also I just remembered why I came to this thread again. They're really growing on me as time passes, so I've already transitioned to "I am definitely making one no doubt" now. I want their run cycle and walk cycles. A second edit: Not to mention its especially unlikely for them to make a new race not be fantasia-capable in a game thats as alt unfriendly as this one. Lets be honest, aside from RP there's little to no incentive to make multiple characters.
  20. ...chocobo size bug? I need to look into this. I went to a wedding! I met this dapper fellow who I have not spoken a word to but made sure to sit next to every opportunity I got because I knew nobody there. The bridesmaids cannot resist my fabulous whiskers! I also took a group shot. It came out pretty bad since I was on the end, someone else that was there probably got a better one. And at the end we got this cute little fellow! THE TRUTH The whole thing was over in less than an hour, and we extended every bit as long as possible. I am not sure why the time slots are 2 hours each. Also no actual ceremony pictures since thats for the couple to post if they so desire (not that I think they frequent on here anyway)!
  21. I'm curious about this myself. Whichever is a more convenient a flag to fly at the time. I wanted to talk about Au Ra male stomachs but noooo I can talk about Au Ra male stomachs. I love that outfit, it looks great. I will admit to having an appreciation of bare midriffs on both genders if executed properly, and here it is executed properly. They have toned abs but not too toned, so they still look comfortable to cuddle against. They also hide the fact that they have no nipples that still weirds me out am I the only one.
  22. Now appreciating their looks is fine and all but there's something important I think we're all missing. Ignis' (the guy with the glasses!) voice. I've only seen the trailer and I think I'm in love with him from his voice alone.
  23. Complaining would be misunderstanding the setting. If you look at the trailer its clear that this is the ancient tale of young sexy people vs old angry people. Note: Looking at the video again, I feel the need to clarify that the old people, while angry, also are quite attractive for their age. Most of them, anyway.
  24. AHHH I did not notice that, that is fantastic! Yes I've wanted goggles with /visor for so long!
