No, Gilgamesh is not shrinking. Don't speak for a server you don't actually play on, please. Gilgamesh and Balmung are the most populated NA servers so there are character creation restrictions on both, unfortunately. Not entirely sure when Balmung opens (don't think I've seen it open since Heavensward was released), but Gilgamesh opens up very early in the morning, though it can be difficult to get on that server too.

Oh wow hey there Mikasu! I remember seeing you around again ingame but didn't realize you had asked for an invite here. When I catch you online again, I'll be sure to add you to the linkshell.

If the RPers on Siren are willing to put in the effort needed to form a thriving community, then it's an excellent idea. Just be aware that things aren't going to happen overnight and you're likely not going to see taverns filled with RPers 24/7 any time soon. Not even Gilgamesh is anywhere close to the size of Balmung, yet a lot of people don't do their research and comes to the server expecting the same amount of activity for some reason. :cactuar: Whatever the case, good luck on forming a new RP community on Siren. Might be a little difficult but if the RPers continue to put themselves out there, the community will definitely grow. Try not to get dissuaded by anyone telling you otherwise.

Hey there, welcome to Gilgamesh! If you're looking for an active LS to perhaps dip your toes in before joining a full FC, I would suggest taking a look at the Adventurer's Guild LS or The Crossroads LS. Both are fairly active, though the Adventurer's Guild LS tends to get filled up pretty quickly. I would also suggest taking a look at our server-specific community site at gilgamesh-rp.com. It's where a lot of Gilgamesh folks communicate outside of the game (aside from the RPC). I'll be keeping an eye out for your name ingame as well. Still a bit busy with the Heavensward expansion but I'm usually open to RPing with new folks so feel free to say hi.

Gilgamesh has been surprisingly stable so far. At least on my end. There are queues but nothing in the thousands. No server-side lag or dc's either, though I did dc once due to my internet farting. I've heard a few others were having issues logging in though so I'm probably just lucky.

From what I've been told, Balmung is doing well and there's lots of RP around, particularly around the Quicksand. I'm not sure what sort of elitist/stand-offish posts you were seeing but I doubt it makes up their entire community. As for Gilgamesh, there's definitely a community here as well, though much of the activity goes on around the housing districts (Goblet Ward 3 is where a lot of the RP houses are located) and sporadically in other parts of the game world. We don't have a particular RP hub in the cities but there are many friendly and welcoming folks who communicate both ICly and OOCly across different free companies and linkshells. Quite a few RP events goes on every week that are open to any RPers who wish to stop by. Though, things have been kind slow the past week or so, as everyone is currently getting caught up in the Heavensward content. So if you plan on sticking around a bit on Gilgamesh, don't be afraid to seek us out! We've got a server-specific community site as well, if you're interested in that. Welcome! As everyone else mentioned, Balmung and Gilgamesh are the two more populated RP servers but I do hear of several servers with RP FCs and linkshells around. Feel free to check the linkshell listings here. The "Other" tab shows listings from other servers as well.

Now we just need Half Life 3 and all will be good in the world.

Ok so I'm just going to post in here once to clear some things up, since I don't want to hijack someone's welcome thread. The website was NOT created out of any dislike of Balmung or of the RPC. It was created purely as a place where the RPers on Gilgamesh could actually discuss things with each other without our topics getting drowned out by Balmung posts. Although I will say there are some flaws with how the forums are set up on the RPC (though I probably shouldn't go into too much detail here), the main reason is simply to keep our community together and not leave everyone separated and unable to find RP. Gilgamesh has always been the smaller community so it was natural that the RPC would mainly consist of people from Balmung, which is fine. People will go where they want to go to have fun. I'm just making sure people on our own server gets to have fun too. So with that said, welcome back Ignacius! I actually recall seeing your name from a while ago, but I don't think I've ever met you ingame yet. Feel free to toss a PM to Adolar Stone if you need help with anything or would like to RP.

Even though I was thinking of making an Au Ra alt, it wasn't really my biggest interest in the Heavensward expansion, to be honest. This does look interesting though and you can bet I'll be wasting hours in the character creation benchmark when it comes out. Not sure how I feel about the screens but the males do have some sort of anime thing going on, which is kind of funny to look at for some reason. Anywho, I'll leave you all back to your genital talk. :cactuar:

Perhaps you'll find more responses there, and always good to get more folks from the community there.

On Gilgamesh, much of the RP happens within the housing districts. There's a few active RP FCs over in the Goblet, Ward 3 that I see RPing in and around their houses quite frequently, my own FC included (The Black Sails). Folks have also been working on setting up an open RP hub in Ul'dah, specifically the Quicksand so don't be discouraged about visiting there as well! Also, I would highly recommend checking out gilgamesh-rp.com, as it is where much of the Gilgamesh community visits, rather than the RPC. It should hopefully help you with seeking more RP connections. Good luck!

Much of the active users have moved over to www.gilgamesh-rp.com There's several FCs and LSs you could browse there and maybe find other people to connect with. Perfect Storm is a linkshell meant for those who are a part of the Maelstrom, as well as folks who are affiliated with its ranks. It's a means of communication and will be used to coordinate missions, IC dungeon runs, events, and just general open RP in Limsa Lominsa and La Noscea. We accept all characters who are either a part of the Maelstrom or has ties to the Maelstrom, whether they're the Yellow Jackets or whoever else. However, we mainly invite ICly so I would suggest seeking out any of the linkpearl holders through walk-ups if you're interested in joining. We're also seeking more characters who are willing to hand out pearls ICly! Preferably a high ranking officer or someone well-respected by the Grand Company, but it's not an absolute requirement.
