Idk.. I think I'm still having the bulk of the fun here..

Problem is, we all dress like women. *Pirouettes away* I mean, my main RP outfit right now is spandex tights. LOOK I LIKE THEM OKAY. Yea, it's hard to make a cool looking MALE caster when the only difference between their gear and a female gear is a flatter chest(which really has nothing to do with the gear itself). Yes, occasionally there are some breeches instead of tights, but when you look next to you and see a lady caster using the exact same gear(especially when the boots make them look more like Capri's occasionally) it's had to feel like your playing a male character.I understand Robes are very unisex to start with, but come on do a little something to make variety. While I agree with the need to spice up the robes later on in levels, it's not just the robes that are unisex. It's everything. (And I wouldn't have it any other way ♥) I personally like the dude-robes and tights. I think they look very fitting for a caster. (Quite comfy!)

This one. I like this one.

I'm fond of Aedan Mathis, myself. :3 It's nice to say.

See, the issue I'm having is that aether is described as being energy, AND matter, AND all living things are entirely made out of the stuff. Energy and matter, eh it's a stretch, but it could be perceived as fuel (it wouldn't BE energy, it would just contain it), and living things need fuel to survive, so that's cool too. But, the fact that all living things, and only living things, are made, 100%, out of the stuff, I just can't get past. That would mean that the only supplements you'd need are aetheric supplements. Why would blood be red if it has no iron? Would we still salt our food if we didn't need sodium? Could we even get drunk? Do we even need to drink (water)? If I take an ether potion, am I drinking, without a doubt, someone's (or many people's) decomposed body? Hell, how does one make leather gear when there are no chemicals to react to the tanning process? I don't see how the cultures in the game can be so similar to ours with such drastically different laws of nature. >.< Honesly, I don't see why it couldn't be both. It's all a matter of perception. People once thought menstruation was a (rather negative) spiritual event too. (And that's why I'm trying to look at all plausible options for the mechanics of aether, 'cause spiritual views of the universe can overshadow information on the actual mechanics of the universe, especially in a region as religious as Eorzea.)

Personally, I'd like to see it not be echo-related, due to a lot of RPers choosing not to have the echo ICly. (Also I find the mad-science alchemy accident a bit cliche. What's wrong with good ol' Mr. Virus?)

Large-scale, long-term, community-building, RP events? How could anyone say no?! (Also, this could be more than an event for JUST the RPers. Infection meta-games are quite popular, and I think we could get the entire server in on it if we wanted to try. Hell, with the duty finder, we could probably have this spread to other servers as well!)

(Sorry, this is my first FF game, so I'm not familiar with this "life stream" you speak of) Hm, I was pretty sure that in the story line it mentioned that all things were of aether. I would jump in game and look again, but...maintenance. I would imagine in order to travel the aether stream, you would need to be comprised of entirely aether, other than the soul. When you die, your soul is not reunited (obviously) therefore that is where the revive ability is where I am unsure if it would be able to return the soul to the physical form of the body if you were able to do it right away. (There is a part in your story line that mentions someone dying and everyone was rather upset. I don't know if they were unable to revive him for one reason or another or didn't try or if once you are gone it is 'dead is dead'. However, they also included talking about reviving someone in the personal story line as well -- so it must be possible to do on a lore level, not just a game mechanic.)Though, for the purposes of healing alone: I would imagine reconstruction of the body would be possible via aether binding. But it is also important to note: With that, I would imagine having new aether fused to your body to reconstruct/heal would also require resting time specially because it is not your 'normal' or 'typical' aether you are used to having as a part of your body. So.. If I understand this, aether is less energy, but more some kind of data format that the universe uses, and there's some property to living things (possibly the ownership of a soul) that allows it to resonate with the aetherytes and other functions of aether?

I think it has to do more with the fact that the Japanese language requires less characters to convey a message than ours. Just bad localization is all.

A comprehensive look at the Seventh Umbral Era story arc [1.0]

Well, in an out of game perspective (and ignoring this whole E/A fiasco) wasn't he doing just that with him bringing us ARR and stuff? -

As someone who woke up at 5am, played until 7, moved into my dorm, then continued to play, I welcome this coma opportunity.

I had the opposite thing happen to me, luckily I got to put in my first code again and got the correct code by putting it in the correct region's preorder place. I got an incorrect email, but a correct code from the website. Try going back to the preorder website and pay attention to the address bar, changing the little region bit as needed.

I can't draw. D: I can write (except when I can't), but my drawing is limited to stick figures and smiley faces! That's good enough! Just enough to convey what you can't find the words for!
-
Whenever I can't think of how to put what I see into words, I usually try to put what I see in pictures. Draw. I draw when I can't write. Maybe it might help you to draw too. (Or take screenshots, but we can't really do that right now.)

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who reads it like this. They seem to be adorable robots made out out of magic and dreams. Summoning them either creates them completely, or binds a consciousness to our plane of existence.

Does the reference to gemstones have to be in writing? Because.. I think the actual summoning spells are the only ones that require fancy tools, everything else should be simple enough to perform with only the grimoire. (Conjuring up a fully functioning life-form is complex, yo!) (Of course the grimoire wouldn't just be simple paper and ink. The way I visualize their spells working is that the covers hold the brunt of the magic power, but you need a catalyst to actually release that magic stuff. The paper, ink, and a smidge of your own magic juice are what does that job. The paper gradually and evenly absorbs the cover's magic at a safe rate (a limiter, if you will). The ink forces the magic stuff from that page to take the shape that is drawn (I assume magic units work kind of like atoms in molecules, in that they like to bond to each other in a certain way depending on how they're provoked.) Depending on the spell, you can just fling the newly made magic structure (and a bit of your own magic juice, to get it going) out of the book and have it attach to your target, or, for the more complex stuff, you will have to run a particularly strong magic conductor (like the hand!) across it to make the magic leave the page. In the case of summoning, you would need something quite strong to rip the spell from its page, due to the fact that you're materializing a flippin' complex living being that can make decisions and shit! And since crystals in this game are kind of supercharged magic doohikeys, it would make sense that you would have to use some kind of varient of them for that particular type of spell. Of course, this is just how I interpret it.)

You are a wonderful human being.

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY TIME??!

I have one prepared, but I am not yet prepared. I've got so much to do before I start posting on it. x_x (Like learning how to neatly write in the Eorzean alphabet...) (I can't even do that in the phonetic one..)
