  1. 3 (Reppu is a sucker for redemption stories.) 1 (Smokey the Bear is pissed!) 2 (These nerds can wait.)
  2. Event 3! Someone has to care about those sprites...!
  3. Hi Aya! I just got tea from you! Ahem, The Rogue's Code, Good Sir, from the Opening Rogue's Quest (At least the three major MUST FOLLOW POINTS): 1) Do not steal from fellow Lominsans. This is probably in regards to Lominsan Merchants/Civilians/Etc. You don't ruin the people you're sworn to protect and serve from the shadows. Unless they break the Code, obviously. 2) Don't screw anyone out of their hard-earned reward. If they earned it, it's theirs. Period. Whoever did the work, gets the prize. You don't steal it out from under them. Unless they break the Code. 3) Absolutely. No. Slavetrade. Slavers are Kill on Sight. No exceptions, no explanations, no mercy. Any and all slavers of any and all types are dead to you. In the end, a big part of it is making sure goods go, or return, to whomever rightfully owns them. And, in the end, the 'bigger picture' of the Rogue's Code is... bigger. But those are the three absolute tenants. Follow those or get out, basically. These are the three you absolutely do not break, and absolutely must uphold.
  4. Not all problems should be 'worked around'. At that point, why be a Primal then? You'd be a Primal in name only... which would be what some would say is a 'cry for attention'. Until lore proves otherwise, the flaws have to be noted. And that big one is 'you are killing the planet by merely existing'. Even inhabiting a soulless husk (which comes across more as a voidsent, but we have plenty of those in RP as it is and will only see more 'succubi' with the Au Ra) likely will not negate this, as noted. As people pointed out, Shiva required crystals to be made manifest. This suggests she does what every other Primal does. Anyway, point is, you should not throw away the defining Primal threat; the slow course to insanity by feeding off aether. Your character having a doomsday clock can be a fun bit of RP, too. Eventually she has to be slaughtered, reborn again, and amass her power all over again. ... I will note one other thing; The Garlean Empire does not really do the whole 'enslaving' thing, aside from making VIPs prisoners. From everything we have seen, they tend to conquer and never raze or otherwise make individuals miserable, unless they try to do a coup (IE: Doma was fine under Garlean rule, then the succession wars had them coup, and they got razed to the ground for it). I guess the question is, what did these lalafell -do- to piss the Garlean Empire off enough to not kill them, but also do what they characteristically do not do; ie imprison/enslave. TL;DR "Kneel to us or piss off" more than "SHACKLES AND SLAVES" ... And in the end, "Why a Primal?". I guess it would be one hell of an antagonist!
  5. I will note one more thing! If she is being summoned by Lalafells under blight by Garleans... she would appear nearby them, no? And if so, would she not handle the problem there? Basically, how do you excuse her wandering about/being in the Quicksand/etc etc? Primals are summoned where they are prayed for.
  6. I have just oooonnnneeee question. What happens when she is killed? Because, you know, she will be killed. Anyone with any knowledge of the adverse effects Primals cause to Hydaelyn is going to kill her, be it merciful or not. Are your Lalafellin slaves going to immediately re-summon her, despite knowing the whole genocidal traits and 'om nom nom Hydaelyn'? Honestly, you would not be the first, and will not be the last, Primal RPer. And I think, for the most part, none of them have ever answered what they will 'do' when they are hunted down. I think, actually, a lot of them avoided combat as much as possible with varying reasons as to why they would never be attacked. In the end, Primals are antagonists. Even if they were summoned for benign reasons (read: quite often), they are still a threat to the planet. Even if you remove their ability to enslave individuals (Shiva might have not had this capacity, or her host just refused to utilize it), that does not mean you can remove the 'I actively devour the planet'. That is a key primal trait, after all. Maybe if you go the Shiva route (although your backstory does not allow this, plus taking the unique trait of a Main Storyline character is kind of 'Ehhhhh'), but that is largely 'unknown territory'. So, basically, what do you do when a band of adventurers is looming over you with weapons? Keep in mind, they are not in the wrong. You're definitely categorizing yourself as a villain, due to your nature, both conscious and subconsciously. The aetherial signatures of a primal are not hard to catch. I mean, Enkidu was nothing special and he was pinpointed almost immediately on summon. He would definitely have been a 'primal' on the same scale of your lalafell. So, you cannot rationally go undetected, either. So... yeah. What do you do?
  7. Oh hey, it's one of my neighbors AND the person who did Jariana's artwork! I totally want a slot! Let's work this out! Full Lineart + Full Color! 400k! All that jazz! Let me know when to contact, which method, so on!
  8. Oh wow! Would you? I'd love one! Let me know when you want to get all that sorted, then!
  9. Oh wow, that came out amazing! Now I want one for my RPC Wiki page...
  10. Hi, Faye! Looking forward to seeing what you do for Enju! Keep up the good work!
  11. I'm not surprised they aren't. And really, if you need to blame someone? Blame Akiri~ Anyway, this thread is 'closed' on my end. No further responses. Have a fantastic... evening? Morning? What have you.
  12. ( If you do not like this, do not RP with it! But, do not give others any hassle about it. As far as I am concerned, -all- of XI:7 are allies of piracy against Limsa Lominsa. Will I ever RP this out? No. Because quite honestly, your Company leader metagamed the entire thing out from under me, and so did everyone else who was present. DESPITE Akiri requesting I play along with her plot. This entire situation is silly, and I wanted to see if it could be salvaged. But, considering the attitudes still present? You may as well consider it dropped. No one likes consequence in roleplay these days. But, to those claiming people in XI:7 with 'equal' rank to Reppu in the Maelstrom could 'revoke' the order? No. Evidence proves XI:7 aided a known pirate against the Admiralty. That is treason. Their rank would be revoked until evidence is proven they are not supportive of this, which could have easily been RP'd out. But the stance is 'Don't tell us how to RP' is pretty much what was constantly shoved. The end result is; There were witnesses. They testified that XI:7 members, admitting who they were, aided in the escape and refused to agree to questioning by a Maelstrom officer. This entire debacle could have been resolved with simple 'Did you know?' 'No.' "Alright then.' Instead, the members present blew Reppu off, threatened her, and walked off with the 'last word' demanded. Your FC leader took it a step further OOC. That is the situation. As stated earlier, consider the whole thing dropped. This just seems, to me, a case of no one wanting to either 1) Roleplay consequence, or 2) Be reasonable in any matter. My initial post even stressed ANY members of XI:7 could clarify what happened, why it happened, and the entire situation would be dropped. No one took it seriously, so I took it as a call of escalation, then THESE posts happen. It's a lame way to go about it, but it's your call. But, like it or not? Next time your FC leader openly threatens a Maelstrom officer, and walks off strutting his stuff after aiding a known pirate against the Admiralty escape being brought in for questioning? Don't blame the messenger saying your leader represents you. Because they do. )
  13. (I'd like to see someone try to arrest her around the Grindstone. D:< ( Well, the whole 'aiding in resisting arrest' thing is why this post was created in the first place. The mentality of 'LAW ENFORCEMENT IS EVIL' is kind of amusing in that regard. None of this would have happened if things just played out in a more... I guess I'll try the term, 'realistic' manner. I'd strongly suggest just, well, NOT getting in the way. She'd get her name cleared instead of having legitimate charges! )
  14. ( Keen! Although seeing how no one from XI:7 bothered to step up to this challenge, I would still issue all members are currently considered to be enemies of Limsa Lominsa, and arrested on sight. Or, well, they can continue to shrug this off. Their call! )
  15. (( Belated response, but yes. This would be public in Limsa Lominsa for all with XI:7's refusal to cooperate. Enjoy! They're all 'wanted' now. ))
  16. Attention to all Maelstrom officers, be on the look out for wanted criminal 'Akiri Cloudsong', guilty of crimes of piracy against Limsa Lominsa and La Noscea. Suspected to be related to one 'Captain Cloudsong', captain of the active, but currently missing, piracy ship "The Sunset". As you know, pirates who are not within active and constant conscription in The Maelstrom are to be treated as enemies of Limsa Lominsa. On top of her recorded actions, 'Akiri Cloudsong' is also guilty of further charges of resisting arrest, and fleeing from an officer. Additionally, members of the Free Company, "XI:7", are confirmed to be housing her, and aided in her defense when an arrest was attempted. They are now to be considered to be harboring and aiding a known pirate, and may also be harboring 'Captain Cloudsong' and 'The Sunset'. This is not confirmed at this time. As well, members of "XI:7" drew arms against Lominsan officers attempting the arrest. Members of "XI:7" are to be brought to Maelstrom Command and questioned for their involvement in active piracy, and harboring of wanted criminals of Limsa Lominsa. They are considered to be armed and dangerous, but force should only be exercised in self-defense, on chance their involvement may be accidental, and not intentional. 'Akiri Cloudsong' is to be apprehended, with force as necessary, as soon as possible. Should any members of "XI:7" come to her defense with this information presented, they are considered to be traitors of Limsa Lominsa, and may be dealt with accordingly. Ensure to remind them at least that 'Akiri Cloudsong' is, in fact, a wanted criminal. An up-to-date picture and criminal log of 'Akiri Cloudsong' is available, and all officers should have their records updated as soon as possible. A list of signed members of the Free Company, "XI:7", is being gathered, and will be given to active Maelstrom officers as soon as possible. Grand Company support of "XI:7" will be suspended on confirmation in their involvement with active piracy, thus consider this mission of standard priority. Any members of "XI:7" wishing to explain the actions of the Free Company, are welcome to come, unarmed, to Maelstrom Command to do so. Remember, pirates not conscripted in the Maelstrom, are enemies of Limsa Lominsa. Let "XI:7" nor any others, fool you otherwise. Those not sworn to our Admiral Merlwyb Bloefhiswyn, are seeking our destruction. Till Sea Swallows All. - Report documented and delivered by Maelstrom Second Lieutenant, Reppu Hijiri. Confirmed by Maelstrom Command. ( I could not find 'The Assembly' post described in the rules to see if this was legal, so do feel free to nuke this as needed. It's just a bit of Balmung Open RP shenanigans. This is not a strictly 'closed' event, but is mostly for XI:7 to either clear their name, or totally bork themselves. And also to further amuse Akiri. All information presented was granted by Akiri, to be used if I desired to see this through. The charges against XI:7 are due to their direct invention during the RP event took place September 17th. Members of XI:7, for the sake of actually 'explaining themselves', may post here, or simply opt to get in contact with me in-game. Finally, although it should not need to be said, avoid drama and take this seriously, folks! Well, as seriously as RP can go. This has been posted on the RPC for any Maelstrom officer roleplayers to do as they wish. This scenario has presented in a manner to easily clear XI:7's name if they so desire, with out any 'permanent' repercussions. Keep in mind, permission was granted by Akiri to go along this storyline, and is only in an attempt to further her character. She was also alerted to the potential of this post being created, as well as XI:7 leader Garryson being informed as well. )
  17. Give it a few days, before being overly worried/complaining. You haven't even seen it in practice yet!
  18. In my opinion; healing magic can only heal what is understood. In terms of the psychological damage, one cannot so simply say they understand the roots of the injury, and simply wipe them away. The more limited application of healing potions and the like, while not needing to 'understand' the injury, are also not able to just be freely consumed with little wait between. The healing properties are likely easily overdosed and deadly. Much like actual medication can be. Thus why Esuna and Leeches could not so easily wipe out a plague; it is yet understood. The art of the Conjurer/White Mage and the art of the Scholar put a lot of emphasis on understanding, and the balance of the arts you wield. There is no doubt healing magic is potent, and it should be treated as such. If you wish to 'get around it' to make 'injuries have more merit', then you need to make such things grievous, or ill understood. In the end, though, just play responsibly, and work things to your own needs. TL;DR - Healing magic can heal what is understood by the wielder.
  19. ... Final Fantasy XI? One of the most successful MMOs? Unless you compare 'success' to 'WoW' then, well.
  20. Honestly? This thread title is stupid. MMO launches tend to be nothing short of 'disastrous'. In truth, FFXIV's, while bad? Isn't remotely as bad as many other MMOs. EVE boot.inl anyone? WoW 2 WEEK stability drama PLUS the Sliding Corpse Bug? Pretty sure WoW's got, what, 7 Million Plus players still despite having one of the longest, horrendous launches in MMOs? Quit. Complaining. If you're unhappy, cancel your pre-orders. Otherwise, deal with it.
  21. No. How is this remotely his fault? This isn't even his division. I do not think Yoshida needs to apologize to -that- extent for anyone. An apology? Sure. Except we've gotten those. But -that- kind of thing? You're asking for a lot for something he has no control over.
  22. Not really, no. But as far as I know, there is no third Roleplaying Server. Nor do I feel the RPC should really embrace another and splinter further. Just my opinion, though.
  23. To clarify, I'm not planning on making it exclusive to RPC. It's not for IC runs or anything like that, it's simply for players on Balmung who would like to run dungeons with other players from Balmung when possible. This is the clarification I wanted, thanks!
