Beta was essentially the final product though, all they really had to do was remove the Exp block and tweak bugs. I thought they were adding something like higher-resolution / less-compressed graphics? Apologies I don't know the technical terms. That is coming in the "DirectX 11" patch later down line, not at launch. This patch is pretty much removal of exp block and bug fixing entirely. I reckon they've added something, I mean the removal of the experience block is probably a server side modification which shouldn't affect the client. As for bug fixes? That's code, maybe a few tweaks to graphical assets, but I'd be really surprised if it all added up to 1gig of data. In most cases if you're downloading a gig, you're downloading a decent amount of graphical assets, the bulk of it being textures and models. I guess maybe they might have had to update and replace some zone maps?

I'll probably be doing a hybrid at first, since I want to level up lancer. Although to be perfectly honest, I really do enjoy just strolling about between quests instead of running, it's really quite relaxing :moogle:

I can't say I've had much experience of these things, but surely it helps us all being here on the RPC forums when it comes to defining ourselves IC and OOC, regarding conflicts and stuff? Funnily enough, IRL I kinda have this problem, I have a pretty dry sense of humour and there's been a lot of times someone has taken me completely serious when I really wasn't. I find it easier communicating on the internet simply because a quick emote can clear up any confusion. You can sign me up. I actually dislike raiding and such with strangers, it just makes me anxious and I have a far more enjoyable time doing group content with people I know or am at least familiar with. I'm not the best gamer ever, but I try my best and I take my role seriously, I read up on guides and develop an understanding of the game mechanics so I'm an asset, not a burden. I do this to help myself and so I can help others if needed, because we all love FFXIV and we should all have a chance to enjoy every facet it has to offer, no matter your skill and experience. What I'm trying to say is, something Myxie Tryxle more eloquently put:

I think a lot of us in Europa are in EU as well, myself included, so I highly recommend that for not only EU players but also those who plan on playing during EU peak times. Ahh I had no idea there was an EU FC, but I fully intended to grab a pearl from Europa. Obviously it makes sense for us all to stick together, although I hadn't intended to join a FC just yet, from the discussions linked above by Taeh Marchand, I think EU could be a good fit for me. It is usually hidden under armour. It is also worthless.

You could host it in a dropbox and then anyone who wanted it could DL it. I would be interested in downloading it for sure.

I love what some of the NPCs have come out with, I mean of course you have your "shite" and "arse" but I still can't get over "colder than a dead whore's crotch", I mean in a game as lovely as XIV, you don't expect to hear such things. Or maybe it's only if you start out in Limsa Lominsa? They definitely got the cussing like a sailor part for atmosphere. I think in this instance the NPCs could be more foul mouthed than us. So personally I think you can easily make lore friendly versions of well known light cussing, for example, changing God to Gods (BSG did this quite well), so you have your "oh my Gods", "Gods almighty" and "Godsdamnit". I also think "feck" would fit perfectly well considering "arse" and "shite" are already spoken by a lot of NPCs, also "bastard" and "piss" too if I recall correctly? So of course now I just imagine Limsa Lominsa in an Irish accent. By the way does anyone know what the Hydaelyn version of hell is in Eorzea? For the "go to ...!", "what in ... was that!?" and "what the ...!?", although for the "what in ... was that!?" you could easily do "what in the Twelve was that!?" or "what on Hydaelyn was that!?". You could certainly take a lot of inspiration from other games, books, films and tv shows set in ye olde times and just add a bit of XIV flavour to it. Or maybe even research into real old world profanity that's either a bit obscure or silly by today's standards, although a lot of our current swear words are actually quite old. You're right, I didn't really phrase it properly. I guess when I used my beta account to login to redeem my code, it forced me to make the social account as an addon? All I know is that I logged in with my beta service account and now I have a social account under the same login, with XIV registered to it from putting in all of these codes :lol: So basically, I have no idea what's going on, but at least there's something that says I own XIV :cactuar:
