This seems like it has A LOT of potential for exploring "forgotten" lore and the potential there in. Veeeery interesting stuff.

Hehe I knew you as Alanth and, of course, Elyle as well. Yes, I remember you! Sasori says hello as well.

Both of my characters ICly only have access to chocobos. Jajara only recently came to properly own hers, having only recently actually stepped up to get a little more involved with the Immortal Flames and thus earn the right to purchase one proper. Someday she might earn a drake but, having no means to properly house or care for one, it probably won't be an IC thing. She still pays a sum of money each moon to have her precious Dinner cared for. I loooove, love love LOVE the magitech mount and I thought about letting my Garlean sympathizer use it IC... buuuut I've shied away from it. I don't think I can justify it to my satisfaction. She's not a Garlean proper, generally technologically inept, and operating much less owning such a thing might just draw unwanted attention to her. So she makes do with her big ol' chocobo just like 'normal' people do. I still bring it out OOC because there is something just lovely about stomping around in it.

I'll stick with one that's in this game. So my FC and I were doing this DMed RP event with rolls and such. Essentially, GOLEMS! Big bad golems were trying to gun us down. Our group got split up so it was one team trying to get back with the other team and, well, the team that had Jajara on it was basically carrying dead weight cause all she did was basically stand around and panic. Then on one turn she decided that SHE HAD HAD ENOUGH. BOOYEAH. And so rumors of Jajara Jara's proficiency with knocking the heck out of things with a hammer were born.

How Does Your Character React To Physical Touch?
cuideag replied to Dat Oni's topic in Character Workshop
Jajara generally does not like to be touched. She's gotten much, much better about it - at first, even the slightest brush would make her flinch - but she is still generally averse to it. There are a few people she will tolerate pokes, prods, and even hugs from but for the most part she finds unsolicited physical contact barely tolerable if not inappropriate. Delial, on the other hand, doesn't mind it at all. She is not normally the affectionate type but if it helps her get to what she wants or needs then so be it. The right kind of touch can be as much of a weapon as any spell or word. -
Days before. "A wise man hears the words spoken through silence," he had said once. "Never forget that." At the time, Hroch was still young and impatient and eager to question his roughly aging father. There was a severity to the elder Greyarm that had only hardened as he seemingly greyed three years to every one of Hroch's. It was said among those who knew that he had been a strapping young man once with a proud brow and an easy smile. Hroch Greyarm knew he would never quite understand what had changed him but he would catch glimpses of it now and then, hear it in the quiet that often spanned between father and son. They had spoken little since the caravan left for Thanalan with the two of them taking up escort duty. With him in dusty linens and Aylard in his creaky mail they had seemed just uninspiring enough to be little more than mercenaries a sun's breadth away from starvation. There were nights when it wasn't very far from the truth at all; for even if the country as a whole was in the iron grip of the Empire there were still those who refused to kneel and for that they suffered. "We walk as ghosts," his father told him once. "Strangers in our home, unseen. Never forget that. We are ghosts." Hroch had been spared the turmoil of their motherland's fall but never did they escape its echoes. Though his father was a kindly man there was no doubt that he mourned his country, burned his heart for the shackles that bound he and his countrymen under Imperial rule. It was not until his seventh name day that he understood the nature of the lives his parents led. "We honor her in remembering, that the spirit shall never die," his father told him once. The lines were deep on his face that night, the first night he had taken his young and hot-blooded son to meet with his colleagues, the men and women who mourned his mother in the secret places they gathered. "Never forget that." Camp Tranquil had been hours past and though the sun still hung high as they breached into the open wasteland of Thanalan, a call for rest did not murmur its way down the length of the caravan. Hroch watched his father as they walked, mindful not to stare for very long for even in his age he was still sharp as the sword he kept at his side. More and more had he been favoring his knees, scowling when he thought no one was looking. He'll regret it later, he thought, And maybe this time he'll learn his lesson.... Or he'll just take it out on me. Aylard seemed to catch note of the grin that cracked his son's lips. His own expression softened even if the steel in his eyes did not. "Something funny, boy?" "Oh, I dunno, da." Hroch swung his arms as he walked, a habit his mother once teased him for so many years ago and one which he stubbornly clung to ever since her death. "Did'ya see that sandy-haired lass up a wagon? With eyes as big as the moon?" "Aye, I did," Aylard said in that measured way of his. "Though I think it's her father you should be looking out for." "He'd like me," said Hroch and he nodded with nothing short of utter conviction. "Like you on that sword he's nursing," Aylard deadpanned. "A father's wrath is a terrible thing, m'boy." He paused to sigh and squint ahead along the line. The scrublands stretched out in every direction, pocked and broken here and there by the wind-cut faces of earth and stone. While they were still far from Ul'dah and the Sagolii beyond, they were not lacking for sun nor heat. His voice dropped low enough to be barely heard over the rumble of the wagon train. "Best keep your focus about you. One mistake..." The younger Greyarm knit his hands behind his head and sighed at his father. "I know, I know, da. Just she's mighty pretty is all. A man can dream, can't he?" To his surprise, Aylard allowed himself a chuckle. A heavy gauntleted hand clapped down on Hroch's shoulder and gave a firm squeeze. "Aye. So you have been listening. Good, good... A man can always dream." The two of them stared ahead to the rest of the caravan and the cloudless blue skies. Somewhere out there, Aylard's contacts were waiting and despite the confidence with which he spoke of their plan, Hroch could not help but feel an unease deep in his gut. Yet seeing even the brief crack in his father's increasingly solemn demeanor eased his worry, even if only just a little. "A man can always dream, and some of those dreams may even be worth bleeding for," intoned Hroch Greyarm, who did his best to be a good and dutiful son. "Never forget that."

What kind of stories has your character gotten into? Jajara's personal story hasn't seen much growth but she has gotten involved in several points of her free company's story and, on occasion, acted as support in plots for other people. With her company she went from being sort of the earnest and awkward "intern" almost to an actual leader figure, however brief that was. They've gone on investigations involving what was thought to have been a rival company distributing poisoned food and supplies to people, infiltrated what was thought to have been a Garlean outpost from whence said poisoned junk was coming from, and helped wreck the heck out of some sort of magiteck? golem thing that was hell bent on killing her company mates. For the most part, though, she's not one to step out into the forefront and OOC I prefer the smaller moments more so than the over-arcing plots. Of those, Jajara has had plenty: epiphanies and confessions, tears and private jokes. That's what I love the most out of RP! What has been your favorite RP moment so far? Truth or dare at a company mate's birthday party. A fellow lady lalafell picked dare and, well, she was made to give poor sweet Jajara a smooch right in front of everybody! That or possibly a wonderful tag team beat-em-up moment with Swyrbhrat. They were attempting to infiltrate the above mentioned outpost when she and Swyrbhrat snuck around the backside of a building to distract a second patrol that was heading towards the main group. Turns out, Roegadyn make wonderful spring boards and lalafell pugilists to the face can hurt pretty bad! What was the most shocking RP moment this year? Jajara, as a rule, does not cry. Not ever! But she went through a very rough patch between losing her very best friend, being utterly confused and overwhelmed with feelings towards a certain someone, and thoughts of uselessness and failure towards the company she worked for and a very dear friend finally managed to get her to break down. What was the most surprising thing you found out about your character? That for all that cheer and enthusiasm and affability she puts out, her sense of self confidence and self worth are actually very fragile. Of course some of this plays out of her personal history and the conditions in which she was raised, but she never really got over those insecurities even now as an adult. What relationships did your character build? Despite the severe culture shock of going from practically isolated in the middle of the Sagolii to out in the world with all sorts of people, Jajara has done very well to make all manner of friends! From fellow lalafell to hulking Roegadyn, Jajara considers herself quite blessed to have been able to meet and befriend a surprisingly number of friends and allies. Fellow merchants, mercenaries, even fugitives of rather questionable nature. Most surprising to her, though, is that she's fallen in love and had that love reciprocated. What are you looking most forward to seeing in the future with your characters growth and story? She has a lot of hang-ups from her life in the desert and someday she intends to confront and ultimately sever her ties so she might move forward with a clear conscience. A recent conversation with Gharen has motivated her to take up her training again and so she's pledged to herself to never be content with sitting on the sidelines ("playing merchant" as she put it) while her friends and loved ones are out getting into all sorts of trouble.
