Wow, quite the introduction! Sadly I'm at work and a tad pressed for time, but welcome to the community and we're glad to see a duo coming in. It always makes for the most interesting RP when two people are basically in the same thought realm from the get-go! As for FC, I'm sure that one exists that is perfect for the two of you! The list is at the top in a tab called LINKSHELLS (Don't ask) and you can even sort the server by Balmung with the click of that one button marked as such. Most of the FC are monitored by the staff here to ensure that old entries are removed, so rest assured if you find one to your liking, it is most likely available in the game. Minus Aeon, which is going to an invitation-only model soon.

Even though you did take a long arc, by having a Miqo'te name and changing to Au Ra like so many others, you will sadly be judged with the masses who don't even have good reasoning. Keep a stiff upper lip and once the commotion has died down I'm sure things will settle. You could keep the RP to those who were involved in that arc, which would do a lot towards minimizing the trauma for a while.

While certainly not a perfect resource, I know that Nebbs has taken to posting up-coming RP events on occasion within the jam-packed Hugs&Cake LS. You might want to see about reaching out to her, since the diversity of members in that particular Linkshell is vast and you have surely heard the metaphors about ripples in a pond...

I could toss suggestions, but really to find the best fits I would definitely look into making a post over in the Making Connections board located here describing your character and what sorts of connections you are looking to get him set up with. Hopefully people will read this and those who find themselves akin to your wishes may reach out and contact you or post in the thread themselves. And the cookies are gone. Well lets see here if I can clear anything up for you... Involved: I would say quite extensively, seeing as how we literally keep our own wiki entries and events are constantly being set up for individuals to attend and promote more RP. I highly suggest these events as well, they really help to flesh out the server. No pun intended for the beach bar nights. Vocal Community? That's a nice way to say it, but seriously I jest! You can find RP all over the place, perhaps not so much at the second since everyone and their mother is working on the HW expansion that just dropped. And I for one do not blame them. It is absolutely stunning and worth every penny I have paid just to play the content I have so far. Guilds. I'm actually guildless/FC-less/whatever at the moment, but that is by choice. The groups I have had the pleasure of talking with however have all seemed quite charming, and the ones found here under the tab Linkshells [here] are all quite full of promise and fun to a new face. Minus Aeon however, for they are sadly - but necessarily - moving to an invite-only model to keep their numbers tight. Features? Well there are a number, but the one that cemented this as my RP game of choice is the emote system. Seriously, in-game just take a moment to look under System, and go to the Emotes. you have Facial emotes, Persistent emotes, Stance emotes, as well as your always popular /em so that you can write your own story. Also of note is the Linkshell system, which are basically private channels that you can join up to eight, and which offer a plethora of entertainment and connections. Here at the RPC we proudly support quite the robust numbers well, such as the Hugs&Cake for OOC and The Whispervine for IC - just to name one of each, there are so many to be found! It really helps to get your character enmeshed in the world instead of being trapped in the paradoxical "Don't want to RP without friends but can't make friends without the RP" bubble. Sadly I was just looking to make a much-desired alt for a storyline that recently caught my eye, and of course it seems that won't be the case. I did some research and it seems like Balmung is not available - period - to make characters as they try to direct the flow of fresh faces into specific low-pop servers no matter the current population status of heavy population servers. I'll actually be using this method for the second time - I was forced to do this before - but I'll dip into my QoL budget. Thanks for the suggestion, for some silly reason I had already forgot I could do this!

I would give the crockpot a try Chacha. Toss something that sounds good in there, let sit while you go about your day, and then you come home to delicious, warm, and not microwaved food!

Eh, I would avoid the MRE. Those things were designed for folks who would be burning off a LOT of calories in a relatively short amount of time. Super easy to get absolutely bloated after consuming those for a week in a non-combat situation. Quick question: Do you own a crockpot? If not, it is an extraordinary investment, since you can make things like Eggdrop soup and something my GF calls "Poorman Sandwiches" for literally a few bucks and the meals can last a couple lunches/suppers especially for a single person. I can always hunt down her recipes when I get home tonight if you like. Yeah, but sometimes chef boyardee is what one can afford. It gets old eating them though. They aren't the healthiest but nor is ramen. You got the Chef in your MRE? ... That's it, where does that old quartermaster live!?

It is official, OP has to make this character. The OP as you call it is R'yue, lets set a shining example that Reddit will never follow by letting people keep their identity.

Hyur and Au Ra will soon own the world, Miqo'te just have a silly stigma surrounding them like the DerpGoons. You find way way WAY more Hyur than anything else, with some FCs actually buckling down on the number of Hyur while Miqo'te are free to come and go. And with the expansion, the Au Ra will be sure to lighten Miqo'te numbers for those seeking a more lore-backed tribal life. Now with that out of the way! I would definitely bring a character over for no better reason than the difficulty that you might face with making a new character right now. The data center is literally dying under the weight of just the early access folks, and you can bet it will be worse tomorrow. So chances are, to even have a shot in the server, I'd bring yourself on over. Plus HW comes with a fantasia if I remember correctly?

Very nice! Quite the necro'd thread you have going here, I would have suggested possibly making another but what is done is done! It's nice to see you returning to the community, and I do hope you find a way to stick with us for longer than a single subscription might last. Don't be. A job is a job after all, especially in this climate. I still say one of the most -fun- jobs I ever had was flipping hamburgers. The job itself is never something to be ashamed of. If I could actually survive on what they insist on paying for that job, I'd go back to it in a heartbeat. The closest I had to this was cranking when I was active duty Navy. I respect the heaps of drama you have to deal with working in this sort of environment.

I'd like to offer a formal apology for my little "explosion" yesterday, even if I kept it completely under lock and key as to actual word usage. Seems that the Chrysalis was hand-picked to destroy my cheerful afternoon as "Lets get to HW!" turned into "Lets teach pugs for three hours and wipe!" And of course Hugs & Cake was there with, well, Hugs & Cake.
