  3. Shameless advertising!!!! <---- spelling error corrected! viewtopic.php?f=11&t=615
  4. Here is why I chose a female character: In an original story line I created, Nedral was one of the characters. He lived some 1,000 years before the main story line takes place. He was, considered by most, the father of Necromancy and the first to develop the use of Necromancy an an offensive art. He was killed in battle by a man named Fehl Nyx. During the main story line, the main bad guy, Damascus, finds an artifact that Nedral had created, the Necromancer's Clarion, and Nedral's remains. He searched the world for the only Necromancer that could use the art offensively and happened to come across a young necromancer by the name of Aixa Zyllel. After subduing her, Damascus proceeded to resurrect Nedral into Aixa's body. Although in that story, Aixa was not aware and could not commune with Nedral, he had complete control over her body and mind. Later, Nedral would replace Damascus as the main bad guy/chick. Why I chose Miqo'te: Because I love cats.
  5. Apparently I had access to the beta ya'll just finished... I just found the email, sent to my in July, buried in with a bunch of news letters from SE. But, I have access to the Beta Tester Site and forums, so I guess I'll some of you peeps tomorrow!
  6. Speaking of the 8 day head start...how are we supposed to get into that exactly? My local Gamestop didn't give me a CD-key or anything when I pre-ordered my C.E. Those who preordered the special edition will actually be able to go to the place they preordered it and pick up a box with, you guessed it, DVD's so you can install the game. So no worries on download times. Save maybe updates.
  7. That's one of the things I'm trying to work out. If I have to run it similar to a D&D game, I'll have to find a website, or a program, that simulates rolling.
  8. Does anyone know where you sign up for the beta? I'd like to put in yet another application. *goes to watch video now* ***addition*** Just finished watching that trailer....omg... I agree with Shamad; gots me some goosebumps x.x **edit** nvm, I found it. It's closed at the moment, but should open up in the next day or two. They'll probably wait until sunday, lol. http://entry.ffxiv.com <_<
  9. I wish some old friends from other MMO's I've played would join up and I could reminisce... Sadly that won't be the case. Welcome, Endi, to the RPC!
  10. Ok, for those of you who have been interested in my idea for an RP thread that has some sort of end in sight, it is officially in the planning stages and a story and setting have been set. Some of the area's are still under development, so I would like to get some feed back from you guys on various aspects of the thread from constructing the other three rooms, and on how to moderate it. This way we can all have a part in creating this and get that much more into it with our characters. For those of you who are just joining us in this, here is the link to the original thread discussing this idea: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=860 Now, onto the goodies. Here is the premise for the thread (note this is still under construction as well) The Princess of the Wastelands, Anne, has been kidnapped by the evil summoner Elidibs. He has brought her to his layer, the great winding caverns of Nogias that stretch ever downward into the Earth, and there keeps her captive to do his will on her. A ramshackle group of travelers (us guys) have been hired to search Nogias for the missing princess and defeat the summoner Elidibs and whatever treachery he's been planning. The travelers are aided along the way by the spirit of Elidibs failed master Krynthel, whom he killed to gain power. Krynthel warns the travelers that in order to defeat Elidibs, they will first have to defeat the mighty, and ancient, Gomerith. A Sub-Dragon that spent his youth swimming in the great oceans of lava during the world's creation many, many eon's ago. Nogias is comprised of four different levels, each wrought with it's own type of dangers. The only one I've come up with is the third level, the Chamber of Mirrors. (not really sure yet what this full dangers are in this level, but you can't use magic here because it will reflect back and ricochet throughout the tunnels/chamber) Now, as fun as this will be, it can get clustered very quickly if too many people join in. So I'm going to limit it to, at the most, 10 people and, at the least, 5 people. I'm reopening the roster, so any reserved spots that were taken in the original thread are now open. I will not include myself as part of the initial 5-10, but Nedral will most likely take part in this. Any idea's for the different levels, the enemies, sub bosses (should we decide to have one) or any ideas on how to moderate it, please share and lets build this thing together and have some fun doing it! Once it is deemed that the scenario is complete, or at least the first two levels, I will begin the RP thread for it and we can start. Thanks, I look forward to working with everyone on this that takes an interest!
  11. WHO WHAT WHERE!!!?? LINK PREASE!! WOOOO! http://psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64935

  14. Yes, that is correct. Also, a Fulm is a foot
  15. So this gives you 8 hours of combat time total per week before shaving off the XP. Does that mean it resets after seven days? **edit** I really need to stop speed reading through forums... Yes it does, per the posted thread at ffxiv.zam.com:
  16. Nedral smiled and took his hand, shaking it slightly. "And you. It shouldn't take more than a day, day and a half maybe, by carriage. And that's assuming we have water and food for the chocobo's. I didn't check when we got on."
  17. Nedral's ears twitched slightly and she tilted her head slightly, brows furrowing. "Dodge?" Then she realized she spaced his question. "Oh, no, I wasn't dodging it. Sorry." She ran a hand through her hair and stretched her arms out a bit. "Well, there's not much to tell, really. I met Luther roughly two years ago in Limsa Lominsa; he was in with a pretty nasty pirate who had Luther held captive. I come from Gridania, I spent some years in Ishard as well. Luther and I travel around, well he follows me mostly figuring he's in debt to me for saving him, but we have no clear goal or direction. Well, at least until now anyway."
  18. Nedral sat in thought for a long moment, seeming lost a few times, her lips moving a bit as if she were speaking very, very low. When she came to she studied Shamad for a moment. He appeared to be much more worse for wear than he did this morning. Stress has that effect, she mused to herself. "So what now? I know you must be anxious to go after this Shari group, but you're still not in any condition to fight."
  19. Nedral nodded then picked up the dying Lalafell, opened the door to the carriage and threw him out side, along with the empty vial. "We should get to Ul'dah as soon as we're able." She motioned to Luther who went back out side and sat in the driver's seat, and coaxed the two chocobo's to start moving again. "They probably do not know that it's been destroyed if they're after you. You think they'll stop if they know?" She asked, sitting across from him.
  20. Nedral froze for a long moment, thinking hard, trying to remember something fleeting and loosing it. She shook her head slightly. "Do you know where it is?"
  21. Nedral nodded. "She did." She placed a hand on Shamad's shoulder and smiled warmly. "It'll be okay for now. It will be a few days before this Shari group realizes you've slipped through their fingers. That gives us enough time to plan our next move." Nedral stood and moved to the other seat next to the doctor. She removed the vial of devils weed poison, uncorking it, then poured the rest of it down the doctors throat and left the vial on the seat next to him. "Now, do you know anything about this weapon he mentioned? Why does he think you know how it works?" She asked.
  22. She looked between the two Lalafell, sharing a quick glance with Luther then punched the doctor full on in the face, knocking him out completely. "That'll be enough, thank you doctor." She said then turned her attention back to Shamad. "Are you alright? He won't be able to answer any more questions, looks like you gave him a little more than he should have had." She nodded to Luther, who loosened his grip on Shamad.
  23. lol, yeah I thought I was going crazy when I couldn't find one of the threads I had started lol
  24. Yeah, if you can do something other than his back hand shit and the little twirly fisty thing. OH, yeah, one of the CHEAPEST things you can do with Zangief in SSF4 is do what I call the saftey jump over the other player as they're getting up from a fall and grab them, then rinse and repeat. It can be difficult to get out of that.
