  1. Just so you all know (and so you appreciate this more), there was actually quite a bit of drama in the news room regarding the "tonberry." >.>
  2. Bleh. Just checked out Aion's RP server poll to compare. They had 248 votes compared to our 221. Find 27 more voters!!
  3. For future reference, how is Besaid actually pronounced? I'm sure it was spoken via voice acting in FFX but I can't recall >.>
  4. GDI. Why can't anything go right tonight lol. Should be working now. Accidentally deleted the image.
  5. All of you shut up for five minutes and go to this thread: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1291 :tonberry:
  6. In light of all the heated opinions of the server vote, it's time for something everyone should enjoy. The journalists have been hard at work in creating the IC newspaper that will come out every 2-3 months. Meant to enhance the RP community while entertaining the non-RP community, the paper will essentially be the new version of FFXI's Vana'diel Tribune. I should note that Tadir is now the Editor-In-Chief of this paper. All inquiries should be sent to him. Without further delay, we're proud to present a teaser for the RPC's official IC newspaper, the Tonberry's Lantern! :tonberry: http://www.ffxiv-roleplayers.com/lantern Note: The format will be slightly different with the actual paper. This is just a flier (an IC one that your character can stumble across).
  7. 3 and a half more hours. Just 3 and a half more hours... :frustrated:
  8. I gotta admit. For a short 24 hour poll, it seems to be lasting an eternity. I just can't wait until it's over.
  9. I personally don't care one way or the other whether we end up on Lindblum or Besaid. And regardless of where this poll stands in less than 5 hours, I hope everyone will be 100% supportive of the decision. The entire purpose of the RPC is to unite the RP community. So please keep that in mind tonight. If Besaid happens to win and you're on Lindblum already, you can hold off rerolling until release and just create an alt on the server to hold your name or something. That way, it's not overly inconvenient to anyone to stop what they're doing and go through the character creation process yet again. Bear in mind though that all character data will be deleted at the end of beta (save names).
  10. The vote will not be thrown out in any way, shape, or form. No need for worries or debate on that issue. The allowance of changing one's vote is meant to be the middle ground that everyone should be content with. If Lindblum still wins, it wins fair and square. We'll just have to deal with the overpopulation problem as it comes and strive to keep the RP community united despite it.
  11. Oh wait! I think I have to change forum permissions first! Dur...just a second.
  12. Uh...I'm getting reports that you can't change your vote. There should be little white dots to the left of the blue bars that you can select. The system must only let one change their vote if it's submitted AFTER the poll setup is changed. Long story short, anyone who voted before now may be screwed >.>
  13. I can't help but laugh. I originally wanted the results hidden the entire poll. But nooo. Everyone wanted to see. I originally wanted the poll to last 3 days so we'd have a better grasp on other communities. But nooo. People wanted it all done quickly. Tsk, tsk. Never doubt your forum god for he is all knowing  I'm of course just messing with you all. Sort of.
  14. The idea behind an overflow server is to just provide a temporary solution until something else can be worked out. I wouldn't expect it to remain an "overflow server" for long. The population of the game is likely going to drop within the first few months and servers will likely level themselves out. I'm sure quite a number of people will quit after their free month is up and they realize this isn't the game for them. The fatigue system may work to our advantage in that regard
  15. If the Lindblum disappearing act was just a glitch and has been resolved, someone needs to check how many chocobos it has (indicator of population). For now, our best bet is to continue on with the poll as is. Although there's now a tiny possibility that we won't be announcing it to the fan sites yet. We'll have to see how it goes in the next few hours. If not though, we have the newspaper teaser pretty much ready as a "consolation prize" for the fan sites >.> Depending on the circumstances, we can always reevaluate everything before final release. Character data gets wiped anyway and name theft is near impossible unless someone is intentionally be a douche.
  16. To be honest, only having 10 servers available for OPEN beta was a dumb decision on Square Enix's part. They should have at least had 15. I'm willing to bet that they'll be adding several more very soon.
  17. According to reports, Lindblum is the largest populated server of them all, followed by Mysidia and Figaro. People who haven't voted yet are urged to vote for something else, though I'm unsure if it matters at this point >.>;
  18. Please try to stay semi-on topic everyone. The forums are very difficult to keep up on right now for everyone. So spamming posts about favorite heroes/villains/games/etc in a major thread like this just makes keeping up on everything that much harder. Let's also try to mobilize more voters. We're almost to 200 votes now!
  19. Awww. Thank you everyone  It's wonderful to see everything come together like it is after all these many months of discussions, debates, and tail chasing. So thank you for being such an awesome community :approve: Can't wait to RP with all of you in game!
  20. Lindblum appears to be a fairly "safe" choice. Doesn't seem like too many large communities are heading there. Core is pretty well split between about 3 servers it looks like. No reports of the any major potential griefing communities heading for the server either. This is of course assuming that Lindblum stays in its current lead. There are still quite a number of people who haven't voted and we could still be surprised. But it's slowly looking like Lindblum may become our home server at this current rate. Besaid is looking like the overflow server so far.
  21. First 100 votes are in! Nice turnout so far. Lindblum and Besaid seem to be battling it out right now. That said, I'm going to bed. I hope the moderators who are still awake can keep everything in order, though everyone is behaving quite well so far. To the many new registered people, I'll get to you in the morning >.>
  22. Yeah, Core isn't very RP friendly. Though their staff supports us, the members don't care about us in the slightest. Edit: Besaid takes the lead with Core now.
  23. Yeah, so far Core seems to have a very similar voting pattern as we do. As to why to avoid? Because we're trying to avoid getting on an overpopulated server. RPC is huge enough as is and another major fansite could cause for too high population, thus locking out future RPers.
