Figaro seems to be big for Eorzeapedia so far. I think someone already said we should strive to avoid that one though due to the griefers mentioned earlier.

If you have the time, you may want to start holding off on voting until tomorrow now. We already have over 20 votes in less than 10 minutes . Now's a good time to wait to see where the other communities are going first. So if you have time to vote tomorrow, that may be the best option!

As a reminder, please post the full server list in this thread the moment one of you finds it. I will then prepare the poll in the Assembly Room within about 10 minutes. I'll be camping the forums around beta start so I should be prepared. If by some chance I'm nowhere to be found within 20 minutes of the list being posted, a mod can post up the poll. Another note: I'm not sure how active these forums will get around this evening. We may get overloaded in sessions. Thus, if the forums load with an error message (usually an SQL error), you'll have to wait until the server resolves said issue before reconnecting. This can take anywhere between 5 minutes and an hour depending on how much stress is on the server. Just want everyone aware of this so they don't panic if it happens. We might temporarily break the forums during the vote :lol:

Since this thread is now ending on a semi-positive note, it's now the opportune moment to lock it before it somehow goes back the other way. The discussion was essentially over quite some time ago anyway. The server poll is being posted within about 24 hours now. The process is mostly final and nobody has spoken out about it since it was posted in the Headlines section quite some time ago. Nobody has spoken out against the minor changes I posted in this thread either and there seems to be overwhelming support for taking it down to a 24 hour voting period. If there are other proposed changes, it's a bit late now because of how close we are to kickoff. Thus, the bickering about proposals that aren't even being used is pointless. No point burning bridges between RPers already. It's to my understanding that Aion's RP community temporarily had a rather toxic environment during the voting period. Let's show that we can handle the situation better. Everyone just breathe and wait until tomorrow. When the poll gets posted up, I hope everyone will be as civil and supportive as possible. Remember that at the end of the day, we're all here for the exact same reason. In the meantime, go kick up your feet in another forum section, eat some pie and cake, and relax. That way we can all go into tomorrow's vote with a clear head and as stress free as possible.

Play nice people, lest you anger the forum god and incur smiting I actually didn't shoot down the idea per say. It's just too late to really change up anything so suddenly. The idea to have one person be chosen to pick the server is actually probably the fastest method available. However, there's just not enough time to discuss that and decide on who would do it at this stage. Had it come up much earlier, it could have potentially been a route to consider for the sake of a swift and effortless decision.

However, I want it all to be made public now so everyone can get a feel of how things will work in advance. Most of this is posted in the Headlines sticky but there have been some modifications and there may be at least one more before the poll goes up.

There's a huge debate about the vote in the Council Chambers right now about this. However, as it was basically stated there, a vote was promised. To take it away only about 24 hours from the actual vote would cause a rather large uproar. It would be different if we had time to discuss it more thoroughly but there is no time anymore. We've essentially been advocating the vote for months now and everyone has accepted that there would be one if server names were known before launch. And well, server names are about to be known 3 weeks before launch. The most I think we can do is just shorten the length of the actual vote, but not take it away at this point.

I'm going to call it. 7 days is way too long for a vote nowadays and we'll likely never have one that long again. And we really need our full attention on server selection for these next several days anyway. Plus, I don't see how it's possible for this to be voted down at this point. I'll put up the new charter to the main site in a bit.
