S K I L L S Abilities: Everill knows nothing of magicks or fighting, aside from using crude weapons like small daggers and pieces of wood. She can, however, run quite fast for having such short legs. Hobbies: There isn’t much room for hobbies in Everill’s life, but she does try to take care of Mouse as best she can while looking out for herself. T R A I T S Most Positive Trait: Resourceful. Everill has learned the hard way to take care of herself and what she can of her family. However, when things fall apart, her inexperience shines through. Worst Negative Trait: Pessimist. Though not entirely due to her own fault, Everill expects the worst out of everyone and everything. She lacks faith in people. Combined with her youthful naivety and immaturity, Everill isn’t the easiest person to get to know and often makes childish mistakes. L I K E S Colors: Purples, greens, yellows. Smells: Any food, florals, cinnamon. Textures: Soft, soft, soft. Anything soft. Drinks: So long as it’s clean, she isn’t picky. O T H E R D E T A I L S Smokes: No. Drinks: Can’t afford alcohol regularly, but she has stolen some gulp here and there.. Drugs: She’s never tried them. Been Arrested?: Yes, but she ran before she was officially incarcerated. All information is current as of 5/30/16. Author’s Notes: I have very few expectations for this character. I just want her to grow and experience things other than a tough life. Everill is purposefully designed to be a “diamond-in-the-rough” sort of character. She’s not glamourous, not experienced, and not exactly friendly all the time. But all that can change, depending on who she surrounds herself with. Slowly, of course. She is a lowbie, and will probably remain so for quite a while, so I cannot RP her everywhere in game. But I do have Discord available, if you would like to RP. She is a great potential kohai, if nothing else!

My main character Rhesh'ir has a few tattoos for this exact purpose. He has trouble tapping into his aether in general, except under some special circumstances. The tattoo idea was suggested to him by another PC a year or so ago as a way for him to do so more successfully. He got certain materials to create the ink, which is, as has been said, the way that arcanists make their geometries more potent, and such. The tattoos themselves don't actually "power him up" in any way, as they just make it easier to access what is already there. That is just how I've chosen to play it, but I am sure you could do something a bit different to suit what you're going for.

Hello RPC! Just wanted to make a post updating our status to: closed for new member applications! We have several new faces, and wish to let them acclimate to their in-game home. Thanks to all who applied, and see you in game!

Lots of good advice here! I may take a little to heart too. Having run an FC for a decent while now myself, I can say you mainly just have to keep your ear to the ground and try to gauge the pulse of what your members are feeling, both IC and OOC. It's great to have a plan, but if no one likes your plan, everyone's gonna have a bad time. Being flexible and open to change is I think the best mindset to have. If an event is running too long and people are losing focus, cut out a step and get to the 'boss' or plot point you need. Don't stick to the combat rules too closely--let your members free write it sometimes. Allow members to affect the plot as best you can. Let non-officers hold most of the spotlight after the initial scene setup. These are the things I have tried to adhere to over my time as a leader. Sometimes these can be hard--especially when you have a certain goal that you need to reach to proceed to the next step. But then it comes back to flexibility. Just balance as best you can, and cater to the types of personalities in your FC. Even if the plot is super dark and serious, having fun as a group is really the ultimate goal here. As long as you try to have fun and keep a positive attitude, people usually follow suit. I wish you all the luck!

I guess I will put myself out here a little bit. Who knows, maybe it'll help? :3 In terms of roleplay, I fear the spotlight. It's silly, really, just how paranoid and overthink-y I get when it comes to my characters doing something that some might see as showing off or being an attention hog. It has actually gotten so bad that I have almost lost my interest in roleplay altogether the past year or so. I have been fighting desperately to set up other things for my FC to do, along with attempting to participate in others' plots, only to find myself often giving up for lack of motivation. It's essentially like I've phased myself out due to my own fear. I've done what I've told countless of my members NOT to do--and that is get too invested in what others may or may not think of my characters or roleplay. I'm not involved in anyone's side stories, in my FC or elsewhere, and it is not due to other people's fault--in this regard it's purely in my head. Sure, I've had bad RP experiences, just like probably everyone else here. Plots going awry, OOC feelings getting hurt for IC reasons--it happens and I move through it. I'm not particularly burned in one way or another. It's just this constant, creeping feeling that what I am doing/writing is pissing someone off IRL in some way. As such, I am trying to get back out there, both with Rhesh'ir and my alt, The Wasp. It's difficult to overcome, even though I have sort of isolated the problem.

Yesterday I went through and tried to friend the folks that had piped up on this thread. A few of you weren't online, so I will try to catch ya soon! If you happen to see me running around, feel free to shoot over a friend request or /tell! And, also, I am still very open to more contacts and future RP partners, so don't be shy! ;D

@Valence - If your char needs something done, he can be anywhere potentially. :3 I am more offering his services to people's IC needs rather than trying to create hooks for myself, so don't feel too pressured. @Graeham - Sounds great! Please poke me. :3 I do events with my FC on Tuesday and Thursday nights, but most other days/nights are pretty open unless I have a standing obligation.

I'm down! The language barrier might be a fun obstacle to overcome. So long as the money is good, Wasp will do anything.

Hello FFXIV roleplayers! I just wanted to put this out there: my Xaela man, The Wasp, is an IC Bounty Hunter and/or assassin for hire to any sort of groups. Lawful types, unsavoury types-- whoever pays the best, he is ready and willing to earn that sweet gil/loot. [align=center][/align] Given that he is not my main character and I am not as paranoid about what happens to him story-wise, The Wasp is free for any sort of typical consequences a man of his profession would acquire over time. I am fine with him being shot, stabbed, incarcerated (temporarily at least) or being generally hated/despised for his actions. All that I ask is that he is not killed. At least, not yet! ;P I know that asshole/greedy characters like this often have a hard time with maintaining an RP presence in FCs and social groups, which can lead to stress on an OOC level. But I am actually excited to be a scapegoat! It will be a nice change from my sarcastic, but essentially big ol’ “do-gooder” main character, Rhesh’ir. Specialties: Guns/Ammunition Allagan/Garlean Technology Explosives Some Airship Types Weaknesses: Magick/Aether Close Melee Exceptional Strength Difficult Words (He does not speak common Eorzean well, so idioms and extremely intelligent conversations go right over his head, unless they are in native Xaela-Tribe languages.) Some of us got ourselves some fiery birds last night in our Ravana EX farm! We've been doing Bizzy/Ravana farms ever since the release of the new mounts, and I'm sure they'll continue until we've had our fill. Next Thursday, we'll be tackling Sephirot EX! This week we will focus on more Midas for sweet, sweet loots. Thanks to all that have signed up so far!
