The Final Moment It was dead quiet, and all she could feel was the cold. Her body was numb, and all she could see was white. “Kiht!” A voice rang into her mind. The voice was familiar, but she couldn't quite tell who's voice it was. Vision began to return to her. The white was clearing slowly as blurry shapes took form and danced chaotically about her field of view. Echos of sounds began emanating from the dancing forms as the numbness in her body began turning into a burning sensation. “Kiht, wake up! The Clan needs you.” The voice again. It was louder, and clearly from outside Kiht's own mind. It was the voice of R'shesha Otharn. Kiht's vision began to clear more as the forms in her field of view became warriors doing battle. Their opponents were Ixal and their wolves. Dashing across the snowy plain from the decks of their war balloons, the bird-men charged with no formation at a group of Miqo'te with one Elezen to their flank. Squawks and shouting filled the air as metal clashed on metal. The barks and snarls of wolves added to the noise, and were punctuated by the yelps of those who suddenly had weapons meet their hides. Moment by moment, Kiht's body began to rediscover sensation. She was standing - her muscles and determination had locked her into a stance as the ice tried to make her a statue. Her gaze drifted to the sound of the voice, and she saw R'shesha standing next to her. “Where am I?...” Was all Kiht could manage in a quiet, weak voice. However, from that moment on, a new blur returned as her head suddenly felt like it was going to explode. One of the Ixal war balloons was struck by a flying object or person, and its flight bladder burst with a loud, deep pop. The vessel plummeted from the few feet off the ground it was hovering then a burst of fire scorched the area. Ixal and wolves alike got set ablaze as a roar filled the sky. A large form abruptly landed onto the battlefield as the few remaining Ixal scattered. The sounds of it all suddenly became muffled. Kiht's momentary lapse into alertness was fading once more. There was shouting and more roaring. Kiht could not tell what was going on. It was like the battle she had escaped followed her. Were the Gods not done trialing her? Had she not suffered enough? She wondered. Suddenly, her body was overcome with pain. This was not from the cold, and no mere return of sensation. This was the pain of her soul being ripped to shreds. She could not even think about what was happening as someone or something was attacking her – it was killing her. No more noise, and no more vision; she only felt intense pain. She wanted it to stop. She wanted to beg it to stop, but she could not muster her voice, or perhaps she was too busy screaming. Memories flooded into her mind as if to occupy her from a pain she could not escape. Her mother, her first spear, her first hunt, being hauled off to Gridania, her first mentor Yvelont Navarre, sparring with Wood Wailers in their barracks, the Calamity, the Dusk Watch unit of Twin Adders, her first trek to the scorching Thanalan, a red-haired mercenary woman who would become a Free Paladin, a suave midlander man who helped her clear her name in Gridania, her first crush Kendha'to Burwani, her first Moon-sister Rinette Molkoh, her first lover Lyn Konge and a group of Hyur and Elezen gathered around her who were looking to her as leader. The memories were as potent as the pain, and her mind was able to hold onto them, but she felt her body giving out. The pain did not stop, so her mind continued digging for memories. Her first hunt with Sanja Polaali, her first real mate Rinh'li, various members of the Morbolvine Clan, placing a bomb collar on her neck to save someone she shouldn't have, being forced to join an attack on an Ul'dah gate, being saved from taking part in the attack by her cousin, training in Coerthas with Nheu'a Polaali and the founding of the Shroudwolf Clan. However, even her memories were beginning to fade, and a darkness soon overcame her. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It felt like mere moments later, but had actually been several bells time. The blackness was replaced by a brightness as Kiht slowly opened her eyes. She was in a room on a bed. Enju was sitting next to her feet and several members of the Shroudwolf Clan stood over her. Was it all a dream? She wondered. Their faces were heavy with concern and relief. Her body began to once again regain its senses. It was not a dream. It was all real, and the trial was over. Kiht was home.

The Au-Ra immgration: How is your character taking it?
Knight Kat replied to LadyRochester's topic in RP Discussion
This. People were already abundantly playing Au Ra even before Heavensward was released. Having Kiht show some profound reaction to them is exhausting by now. She doesn't know much about them, she doesn't encounter too many so she doesn't much care anymore. She's too busy to stop and throw racism at the horned-people. There are wars and instability everywhere, and she's got her crazy family and Clan to support. -
My alt Qara Hotgo is RP-ready, and I've been leveling her something fierce. Please add her to the list with the other Hotgo tribe members! ^^
-
So I just re-read the Hotgo stuff this was stated; Hotgo || A tribe recently massacred by the Dotharl. The only members surviving are those who left the tribe to travel on their own and were not present during the killing. The Hotgo were known for their vibrant face paints which members would constantly change depending on their current mood. My guess it would have had to be recent to current times. So maybe before the raze of Doma, but that's my general 'guess'. How did I miss that??! Thank you very much!
-
My first alt has been made a Hotgo! For now, her name is Qara Hotgo'kahkol as I was planning to make it so her parents brought her to the Kahkol tribe after the massacre of the Hotgo. However, I just realized something. The lore doesn't say -when- the massacre occurred. Any theories? I am strongly considering changing her surname to just Hotgo as I am growing more fond of the idea of her trying to find lost members of the Hotgo tribe. Anyways, yes, I would be open for RP as soon as the severs settle enough for me to actually get in the game during the day!

UPDATE! We are still very active, and now open for recruitment, but please continue to read! The FC council has set the maximum allowed number of active members to 20. We are currently at 18 active members. This means we only have two slots open for recruitment. It is a first-come, first-serve basis. If you are interested in joining, please see the "Join Us!" tab. I highly recommend using method one right now due to our limited slots available for new recruits. It will make sure you are noted ASAP as someone who wants to join. Please note that due to the recent release of the expac, no heavy RP will be happening until Friday's Story Night. Please be patient as we are all suffering from server issues as well. Please read everything on this profile before deciding to join, and I highly recommend visiting our website.

It'd make a interesting short story thats for sure. I think it would be pure chaos. I'd love it but so many people. :dazed: This would be an interesting project

Kiht would be an athletic student that is -very- invested in sports. However, she would be somewhat un-kept and unconcerned about her appearance and popularity... Which is a bit unusual for a High School student. She would hate bullies, and never be one herself. However, she would likely not be the nicest person. She would be frustrated, distracted and close-minded about certain things. For example, she would have higher values for her family's expectations of her academic performance, and far less value for social status with her peers. She would be introverted, but -not- shy. If that confuses some people, look up "introverted vs shy" on the internet, and do some reading. Despite her family placing pressure on her to get good grades, and that being important to her, her grades in the non-athletic classes would be average. The only exception would be History. She would ace history classes. Kiht would likely only have a few friends, and they would likely be students on the low end of the popularity scale. She likes to befriend those who she thinks need friends. As altruistic as it sounds, it is mostly due to her romanticizing of "under-dogs".

balmung Pilgrimage to the Twelve Stones
Knight Kat replied to Knight Kat's topic in Chronicled Connections
This is my concluding post. What I learned from this, and what others should keep in mind if they decide to take on something like this: 1: I tried to finish this in a few days by visiting three to four stones a day. That did not work out for me. Some of the RP scenes at these stones were hours long. The philosophical discussions were very intense and interesting. I would say two stones a day is all that can be expected. To visit all twelve stones without being rushed, the journey may take six days! However, your mileage may vary. 2: I found waiting 30 minutes to see if anyone showed up was the perfect amount of time. Never once did I get a tell from anyone saying they just missed me. 3: I planed to do the stones in a certain order, but that was changed very early on as I got PMs from people who wanted to meet my character at specific stones. I even set up times with a few of them. I would say that sticking to an order is not important. Just throw up notice that your character is at the stone with someone, and others are welcome to join. 4: I admit, some of the people I met were people Kiht already knew. It actually helped keep me at certain stones for greater lengths of time though. I still met mostly new characters. 5: I would advise a journey, not a pilgrimage. The whole secret thing did not work out. One of the people Kiht met at a stone needed someone to guide him through Ul'dah. Kiht decided to do that, and... She ended up in the Quicksand. 6: This journey was more popular than expected. 10 out of 12 stone visits had me RPing with other people! 7: Expect the unexpected. Kiht was attacked and injured by another player-character at one of the stones. Some of these stones are in areas that might be perfect for antagonists as they are rather isolated away from civilization. That is it! It was a fun project, and Kiht got to meet some new people. Kiht had major character development, and the RP was not as casual as I expected. The scenery at each of the stones is magnificent as well; a must-see for anyone who plays this game. -
balmung Tiger Tribe (Ni) in need of members
Knight Kat replied to Nikaj's topic in Chronicled Connections
This is awesome to see! Just wanted to add that my FC started with about 7 people too. It grew from there. We keep an LS for the same thing you are using it for. Out of curiosity, where is your tribe located in-game? Do you have a sort of "home-site"? -

Final stone is Nald'thal's, and it's inside the Thaumaturge Guild in Ul'dah. Kiht is now there. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Kiht is no longer at the stone and that concludes her "pilgrimage"! More info to come on my conclusion to this RP experiment. Kiht's question of Nadl'thal: "Is Ul'dah truly doing right by you? Does greed and death somehow relate?" Kiht's prayer to the twin Gods: "Nald'thal, please help all those merchants looking to keep their businesses alive in the face of this monetarist curse. Please guide all the dead to a peaceful rest. There are far more to come..." -

Kiht is now at the stone of Rhalgr, Southern Thanalan x19 y14. In Little Ala Mhigo, upper level. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kiht is no longer at the stone. Thank you Chiyo Hoshi for the RP! Kiht's question of Rhalgr: "When my clan takes up arms to fight instead of hide, can I truly stop them? Should I? Or should I lead them in destroying the threats they find worthy to fight?" Kiht's prayer to Rhalgr: "God of Destruction, gratitude for guiding me in the destruction I have needed to cause in order to survive. While too much destruction is oft a bad thing, sometimes destruction is needed for survival and further creation. I now see how you are more a part of nature's truth than I thought." -

I apologize to those who wanted to meet with Kiht yesterday, it wasn't a good day for me. However, today I am ready to finally finish Kiht's "pilgrimage". Starting at Nophica's stone, really easy to find. Right outside the Conjurer's Guild in Old Gridania. Will be there for 30 mins unless someone shows up. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Kiht is no longer at Nophica's stone. Khit's question of Nophica: "How does one maintain peace when the bounty of the land is more limited than ever?" Kiht's prayer to the Goddess: "Nophica, I know my patron Goddess is your rival, but I have naught but gratitude for the resources my family and I have been able to hunt and gather for generations." -

Waiting on Rhalgr and Nald'thal due to requests. That leaves Nophica and Althyk. I am totally out of order as I am now at Althyk's stone. Unfortunately, it's in a bad location. Groups of people near-by in queue to do AK. It is also a surprisingly tiny stone compared to the others, and you'd think the God of Time would have something more grand. Oh well, will wait here 30 mins in case anyone wants to show up. I am willing to join party to prevent trolling. South Shroud x23 y25. Right outside the entrance to AK. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kiht is no longer at the stone. Thank you Zagi'zi Kumai and Sahja Nepahl for the RP! Due to events that happened during this RP, I am going to time-displace the scene to make it the last in Kiht's pilgrimage IC. Nophica, Rhalgr and Nald'thal will be today, but ICly taking place before Althyk. Kiht's question of Althyk: "How does one endure hardship over a long period of time without breaking?" Kiht's prayer to the Gods of Time: "Althyk, I have seen this dusk that there are those who grow bitter with time instead of stronger. Those who cope by lashing out. Time does not heal all wounds it seems. Please give mercy to those who have had enough pain." -

balmung Pilgrimage to the Twelve Stones
Knight Kat replied to Knight Kat's topic in Chronicled Connections
Ok, continuing! At this point, not sure if this is a pilgrimage anymore, but whatever it is, I am going to see if I can get three stones done tonight. Kiht is at the stone of Byregot the Builder. Can he do it? He's Byregot the Builder, yes he can. South Shroud x15 y27. Just North-West of Camp Tranquil. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kiht is no longer at Byregot's stone. Peaceful visit, but no one showed after 30 mins of being there. Kiht's question of Byregot: "Must one always be the guardian of what one builds? Can such a legacy be passed on?" Kiht's prayer to the God: "Gratitude, Byregot, for guiding me in my skill with Leather-working. Also, if your hand was involved in the building of my clan, gratitude for that as well." -
balmung Pilgrimage to the Twelve Stones
Knight Kat replied to Knight Kat's topic in Chronicled Connections
*Sigh* Late start again. It seems I may have to pause the pilgrimage over Saturday and Sunday, and continue it Monday and Tuesday. For tonight, I'm starting with Oschon. Outer La Noscea, x25 y18. Be warned, ICly, characters may have to sneak past a Kobold Dig site. OOCly, just sprint past them, or use stealth. Don't try to Chocobo past them; they'll put a damn 20 second slow on you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kiht is no longer at the stone. I give thanks to Leanne Delphium, Malisette Moreau and Jullienaux Sintierre! I could imagine Oschon making an O_o face as the four went into a LONG discussion about things like wanderlust, duty, greed and zeal. That was some intense discussion. I only got one stone done tonight, but it was very worth it. Kiht's question of Oschon: "Can one find adventure, yet still abide by one's responsibilities? How does one find balance?" Kiht's prayer to the God: "My gratitude, Oschon, for my many adventures, and my desire to seek them. While I do find conflict between my duties to Menphina and my desire to be like you, I would not trade away my scout's spirit for peace." -
balmung Tiger Tribe (Ni) in need of members
Knight Kat replied to Nikaj's topic in Chronicled Connections
As someone who has successfully established a group like this, but in a Keeper of the Moon fashion, I can offer you advice if you are serious and dedicated to this idea. I like the idea, and think you should totally go for it. However, you -must- be ready to be -very- dedicated to it. IME this kind of thing is no walk in the park, but it -can- be done. Advice from my experience: Do not focus so much on the breeding traditions of the tribe. Do not worry so much about getting a Nunh(s) right away. Set up a linkshell (or FC) for the tribe. Make a Linkshell Hall Profile page on this site. OOCly and ICly make choices with a council of trusted members. Do not define traditions so strictly until you have a council. Set up a weekly tribe event as soon as possible. Do not try to expect characters to perfectly fill a mold. Be accepting of characters who deviate slightly from the traditions. Whichever characters ICly lead must be ICly reasonable. Know when to OOCly take control of things, and move things along. Allow characters to develop their own stories, but do not let any one character control the tribe's story. Be patient and persistent. I know it's a long list, but these are all things I have had to learn the hard way. I will elaborate on a few. 1> One nasty stereotype of Miqo'te groups is they are breeding-centric. Especially Seeker tribes. Break this stereotype. Make breeding tradition and choosing of Nunh something that is last to be developed. Maybe even keep breeding an undefined thing open to each individual's personal choice. I know, Seeker tribes need Nunhs, but anyone who plays Nunh of the tribe must be one Hell of a good RPer to pull it off well. The Nunh should -not- lead. The Nunh should not expect, nor anticipate getting a harem of player-characters. The Nunh should be a more developed character that has a deep story beyond just being a "breeding male". He needs to seem like he truly deserves the title. Maybe even consider making the tribe's Nunh an NPC at first. 2> My FC, which is a group of Keepers, we have a weekly Story Night that has become very popular. It's a simple, easy event that isn't hard to organize, but has gotten us attention and activity at least once a week. Establishing a simple event for your tribe will be important. 3> Many players don't often like to play a character made from a strict "lore mold". I'm sure you'll get Seekers interested in your tribe, but many may have something that slightly deviates from the typical Tribal Seeker mold. Give them a try anyways. They may fit better than you think. 4> The only Seeker tribe shown in-game has a Nunh leader, but game lore clearly states that Nunh are not always the tribe's leaders. I think a council would work well for a Seeker tribe. It's easier on the OOC leader, it's fairer for the members and it will make your tribe look more attractive to those who may wish to join. That is all I can think of for now, and I hope my advice at least provides food for thought. I wish you luck with this. You will hit hurdles, and some will try to discourage you. Don't give up if you are serious about this. -

Listen, Osric, I only count to popoto! Now back in order, and visiting the stone of Llymlaen. Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks, x7 y14, Anchor Yard. I like how the Limsans made a statue fountain out of it... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kiht is no longer at the stone. Thank you for another visit Riordyn Ashentyr! Kiht's question of Llymlaen: "Is navigating life like navigating the world?" Kiht's payer to the Goddess: "Gratitude, Llymlaen, for sometimes moving the clouds so that I can see the Moon and stars in the sky." -

On request, I am breaking order and having Kiht start with Azeyma today. Eastern Thanalan, x24 y29, Final Prayer. Now, this one is a bit tricky. Only two ways to it is through an Amalj'aa camp, or the Burning Wall. ICly, I think it's more likely for people to be able to sneak through the Burning Wall to get there unless they are capable of ICly defeating a horde of Amalj'aa alone. OOCly, the Amalj'aa are level 18, so it's actually easier to get past them. Game mechanics are funny... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Special thanks to R'shesha Otharn for the IC discussion about the Goddess who Kiht knew the least about. Kiht's question of Azeyma: "As the Goddess of inquiry, I will not ask you a question. Instead, I will always seek answers." Kiht's prayer to Azeyma: "My gratitude for the gift of fire and sunlight you give to this world. While I am not too fond of the sunlight myself, without it there would be no Twelveswood." Kiht has moved on. -

Not done yet! I'd spread these out over a longer period, but Kiht's vacation from the SW Clan is too short. In order to see all Twelve, I must do several a day. Not ideal, but better than nothing! Kiht is now at Nymeia's stone. Lower La Noscea, x26 y37. Any lovers of Fate and... Weaving?... It has a nice view! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Visit to Nymeia's stone is done! Thank you Ciceroix Allemonde for the interesting discussion about fate! Kiht's question of Nymeia: "Is every part of our lives woven by you? Do we have any choice that is truly ours?" Kiht's prayer to the Goddess: "Gratitude, Nymeia, for the fortune I have had in my life. While the misfortune I have had is not appreciated, it does not make me overlook the good parts of my fate." Aaaand I am done for the night. -

Kiht and two others are now at Menphina's stone. Coerthas Central Highlands, x22 y8. Walk-ups are still welcome. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kiht's visit to Menphina's stone is now over, and I thank Riordyn Ashentyr, Ysa Qishar and Enju Abbagliato for visiting with me! Two of the three are Keepers of the Moon. Once again, quite fitting! Kiht's question of Menphina: "Why does love get so complicated?" Kiht's prayer to the Goddess: "Menphina, my gratitude for all the love you have given me, and the opportunities to meet those I have come to love. While I still do not fully understand this trial that is love that you put me through, I will not give up its worship; not when love is what is so much more needed in the world right now." As expected, the Menphina visit got sappy, but the others made it fun! -

Alright, I plan to do maybe four of these today. Kiht is now at Halone's stone in Coerthas Central Highlands, Fury's Gaze, x7 y31. She will be there at least 30 minutes, but since I am having her meet with someone, probably longer. Walk-ups welcome. Will update post when she has left. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Halone's stone was a looong visit due to three awesome visitors! Thank you Martiallais Heuloix, Lautrec Krios and Riordyn Ashentyr! Your characters definitely gave Kiht guidance. I find it fitting that two of the three are Ishgardian characters, yet had two different perspectives... Sort of. Kiht's question to Halone: "Should one risk family in fighting for a just cause?" Kiht's prayer to the Goddess was: "Halone, gratitude for the will, strength and ability you have guided me to develop. I shall put such assets to good use." -
