I think unnamed pretty much said everything I was going to say. But welcome!! The community here is pretty nice. And yea as long as you don't godmode or over slaughter the lore, you should be good. Though some people are really uptight on lore benders..if you find that issue, don't get discouraged. Just learn and maybe just find a different person. Everyone/ diff groups have their own style. I found there is a spot for everyone.

I myself never fully know what I'm going to do with my toon but found creating a small 'vauge' rp base then rping a ton with people gives my toon life. It's more fun that way, BUT that is my method! You can add my guy Minox Moks for the Moks members. My guy friend will be playing Minox's brother though I'm unsure what his name will be(just yet), just his 'nickname'. And we are still debating what 'tribe' we believe we are actually part of ..we may just wander then IC 'join' a clan that will bother with us. (I'll just keep studying my lore while I decide our route.)

WELCOME! I have played mmos for a hell of a long time and can tell you ..this game feels like it has the most lore ever..when I think I know it then I know nothing! (Or it feels to me). There are tons of threads and wikis on lore. My best tip is lore is in the least places you'd think! There are a ton on items, in game during quests and even on the fish I catch.

Since I returned I really haven't done to much but practice using my programs. Ah! Thanks for the tip, that's just what I'll do then. Either that or there is a small 'window' ..usually Balmung/ Gilga are unlocked during the week only and for me its as early as 3 or 5am EST ...the trick is to find the 'window'. BUT usually in the morning or JUST after maintenance.

I'm trying to figure out what rank Thel might be, she is a combat officer, not an NCO (non combat officer).'' Is there a write up on the basic timeline of FFXIV that I could look for somewhere? Just something to get me started. Finally, are there any linkshells / guilds out there? BUT in the end its usually pretty good and very passionate folks from every walk of life. Usually never boring. But that is my opinion *cough* LOL hmm been gone for a bit ..BUT my old toons were villains (not garlean but supported them..and everyone else really..and maybe I might make this guy neutral..probably)...I found simply not talking about it unless the other player slipped claiming they were interested. There are so many takes you can take on it. You can look into joining neutral or villain FCS.
