  1. (Just going to post this in this section as not to clutter up the Lantern area.) Waterstrike Heir Still Missing John Waterstrike, of house Waterstrike, is still missing. Blood found at the site outside of Bentbranch has been aetherical comfirm to be that of Sir Waterstrike. As for the motive for the attack and kidnapping is still not been comfirm. So far, no ransom has come to the House and has left the family in limbo over if young Sir Waterstrike is even still alive at this point. As of this time, Master Thomas Waterstrike has issue a small statement. "It is my prayer to Nald'Thala, that our son will be return to us, save and whole. I wish to thank all that have sent offering and prayers to us." When asked how Lady Margret was dealing with their son, this reporter was told that she has been beside herself with worry. A reward has been offer to any that might have information or that saw the kidnapping of John Waterstrike. Please contact the Flames or Adder with any information.
  2. John yawn as he passes out of the gates of Bentbranch, making for the lake and the boat that would take him to Lavender beds. He had already made sure that Kit was back in her book and resting before he left Gridania. Hopefully, he would catch Titor and see if the linkpearl was fixed. Maybe once he had it back in his ear, then the oddness of the vibration of aether would go back to normal. When John was far enough away from any guards or any noise, they attacked. A small group of three Imperials sprung out at once, surrounding the Miqo'te. There was no time for an exchange of words, or anything of that nature before they would spring towards John. One would attempt to press a rag to his face with a sleep-inducing compound in it, while the others would move for his arms and legs to secure him. Maybe because he had been on edge, even in his tired state, he was able to draw his dagger from underneath the pack at his hip. He slam the hilt against the head on one of his attackers, not waiting to see if he had been knock out. He drop below the rag, sending an elbow into the others stomach. He felt a set of hands latch onto his arm, and he free the other dagger from the pack, wincing as he realize that when he drew it, the blade part ended up going into the one that was holding him side. He didn't have time to say anything he something kick him in the side, making him lose one of his daggers. He manage to get another couple of blows in before another kick sweep him off his feet, his head slamming down on one of the stones along the road. The man cursed as the dagger entered his side, the other two working more fervently to pin down John and remove the weapons from him. Once he was down on the ground, they tried to press the rag with the knockout solution over his nose and mouth. "You are going to pay for that, cat. Why are all you Eorzeans so stupid." He mocked, bringing his foot down on John's stomach when he was on the ground to knock the air from him. John cried out as the foot came down on his stomach, curling around the foot, and slamming the dagger into the other leg, again blood coating this dagger as well. He then rolled, holding onto the leg to throw the other off. His nose pick up the sickly sweet on the rag, though he was half blind by the blood from his own forehead that had meet the stone. Letting go of the other that he had flip into the other man, his fist slam into the face of the one holding the rage. 'I promise, Howl, I'll make sure that I'll leave them bruised and bloody.' He remember telling Howl that the week before. 'Looks like I'll live to see that promise.' A fist came at him, making his jaw ring as it hit. He stumble back, tasting copper from his lip. John's fighting continued to make the three Garleans angry, they began treating him rougher, and with more force and vigor than they had though of before. A few of them uttered strings of curses, while one shouted out orders to detain him at all costs. They moved to secure his arms first, the three of them working in unison to remove the dagger from him and begin to tie up his arms. "Just cooperate. No one has to get hurt here. The only way you will get hurt is if you do something stupid and fight, like you are. Just... sit there, shut up, and come with us. If all goes well, you walk away otherwise unscathed." Even as the dagger was taken, John still kept fighting. He manage to get another few hits in before he was cold cocked. Stuggling against the spinning world, the sickly sweet rag was finally pressed into his face, probably harder then was needed. He struggle for another minutes, though they slow down as the drug began to work on him, his eyes rolling back into his head as he finally sub come to the drug, going limp in their grip. "Good cat." One of the Garleans commented as John's struggling began to subside. "That was all you had to do, this whole time." He said mockingly as John went out cold. **** John had slip unconscious after the others had reassure him that Kit was nearby, not realizing that they lie to him so he wouldn't panic. His ability to heal was nothing as the binding on all of them seem to be aether-resistant. Before he had slip unconscious, he try to think how much healing would be needed, listing his injuries in his head. A crack rib, most likely from when the foot was stomp into his stomach. The caked blood meant that he had a head injury, a black eye, probably from the cold cocked he got. He wasn't sure what other injuries he had. He wish he had been able to talk them out of it but he had been given no time... or no quarter to try and sound an alarm to Howl, Warren, or even on Aethertide's linkpearl. He was sure Sir Tertius would realize that something was up, when he didn't show up in the morning to have him fix his camera. He just wished that he didn't feel so cold and empty because of the strange binding. Maybe if he had been better at fighting... would Warren and the others been proud that he try to fight them off. 'I want us to go home, sister...'
  3. Waterstrike Heir Missing and Presume Kidnapped Word came into this reporter as she interview a Twin Adder officer for another article, from Ul'dah. The heir to the Waterstrike House, young Lord John Waterstrike, was missing. He was not answering his private Linkpearl and was last seen leaving the Grindstone by teleport. Interviews around the area review that young John arrive at the atherite before heading out the main gate of Gridania. This reporter, following the adder that was sent to investigate, was told at Bentbranch that the young miqo'te was seen passing by the gate, heading for the lake dock and the boat that would take him to Lavender Beds. It was while interviewing the people at Bentbranch that word came in about signs of a struggle. Upon arriving at the site, several Adders and Conjurers were already on scene, and I could see the blood on the daggers that was collected along with the blood on the stone, as well as the rage left behind, the scent of a sleeping drug still on it. From the signs that this reporter has seen, it would appear that Master Waterstrike was taken by force. Is this an action to ransom the heir for some of the Waterstrike fortune? Or as is believe, that Garleans may have been involved in the kidnapping, as a way to hold sway over a Royalist family. We can only hope that Master Waterstrike will be return safely back to Ul'dah and his family.
  4. (ooc: Doing something slightly different with this story. It will be set up in journal form for John. Just a little short piece at the moment.) The book is fairly new, though there looks to be some pages torn out of it, and a couple of smudges of charcoal along the edge of it. The first entry is shakey, as if the writer's hand couldn't stay still. I guess Tanya is right that I have the best and worst luck in the world. Titor has also told me that I didn't need to do what I did but well, hindsight is 20/20 as they say, and I didn't think of the danger that could come from something that wasn't the void. I went to the Invisible City to field test the magiteck visor that Titor had made for me. Yet, instead of a ruin city with voidsent, I found the site of a great battle, and the bodies of several slain voidsent. After testing the vibration of the aether around the city, I found what appear to be wards around it. It was as I was going up the path that lead to the other end of Golden Bazaar, that I meet a hyur woman coming from that direction. Lady Vi Lindon is her name and very strong in the way of thaumaturgy. She also knew Sir Khyran. I was thrill over the fact that their seem to be someone else that would be able to make sure that he was all right. I explain a little bit about why I was wandering around the Invisible City. I'm not sure what I did after that but she asked me to do her a favorite. When I agree, she asked me to remove my gloves. I fear that Sir Shin will be upset if he finds out that I refused for the simple fact that I did not trust the walls around my heart to hold. This lead to her using a sleep spell on me and then I found myself 'Dreaming' her memories. She must have realize something was wrong because the 'Dream' did not last long and I found myself back in my body, with Lady Vi refusing to look at me and handing over my gloves. It was not long after that whatever was causing the issue with my linkpearl to get my position out to Mahv and Lady Canny. There was almost blood drawn and it took me a bit to get Lady Canny to not attack her. She was protecting her people after all, though I wish I knew what I must have done to make her think I was a threat. As for the issue with the linkpearl, Mahv's idea was that it was the visor might have cause it was wrong. When I spoke to Titor he said that it should have cause the interference. It turn out that it is a wire that was broke. He is fixing it for me but also asked if Khyran's group should be investigate. I do not believe that they are a group of evil but that I saw with the Wards might come in handy with us, in case with have another voidsent like the Siren again. I will try to get back to the bazaar the next day to see if I can talk to Sir Khyran. Now, if only I could understand why there has been a slight tenseness in the aether today. Maybe a storm is coming or Odin might be going to pop up again.
  5. One of the FC mates that use to be part of Zero Division was at the Grindstone last night. Her character overheard John and Howl speak but she was kind enough to send me this nice shot she took of us. IC: John was discussing with Howl about the tenseness of the aether that he had been feeling, that a storm was building, and there was a chance that it may well be a great danger. He gave Howl and Warren his private Linkpearl, in case it turn out to be as bad as he was feeling it in the aether. OOC: Just warning Howl of the FC plot involving kidnapping and Garleans.
  6. John settle on his bed in his room, touching the linkpearl at his ear to let his mom know that he would see her in the morning for the trip back to Ul'dah. He removes his gloved fingers from the pearl, before turning the visor over in his hand. Titor's mark on the magitech piece was there, how simple in design, but having full function in what he needed. "So much color," he said to himself, remembering the color and brightness of the aether he was able to see instead of feel. Still, he needed a place to test it, not only that had high aether, but also void energy. He set the visor on the table near his bed before crawling into bed. "Eastern Thanalan would be the best to test the visor." He pull the light sheet up, letting his eyes close. Yes, the Invisible City would be his testing ground for the visor. (ooc: little short but it's basic for a miniplot for John)
  7. Had another 3 inches hit yesterday but we were lucky as well with the ice so we still have power. But yeah, we have plow and sand truck but pretty much they only do the highways and main roads. Secondary and side streets, like mine, will never see them. Thankfully the sun came out and melted the stuff off the road but I'm still going have to gun my car out of the yard to make it through the 4 to 6 inches of snow that's behind it. And then I'll have to make up for the entire day of work that I missed yesterday because I was stuck inside. Eager to see your pics MBajihri, probably way more then I got here.
  8. Sorry I missed out on last week performance. End up with a 24 hour stomach bug. Going to try and catch this coming weeks through, depends on if I get to work tomorrow or not.
  9. That's he is and he owns the house, he just let us live there. A mere dusting for you but this is the south where a dusting has the city shut down in panic. I work the day before this hit and the store was slam pack. Couldn't keep carts in the store...so much so that customers were coming out to the parking lot to get them from us as we was collecting the few that was out there.
  10. Just took a few picture of the ice and snow that we got here. Thought I post them here. Taken from the front pouch. Sorry about the ice droplets on the screen. The street is a sheet of ice. Not sure if I'll be able to go into work tomorrow morning. Have to wait and see if the sun comes out enough to melt the road enough for me to get out of the yard. Taken from the back door. I think there are calling for more snow this evening/tonight. Bonus: This is my 10 year old boy, Safire. He was not happy with the cold and was wanting me to let him back in, even though he was the one to follow me out on the pouch in the first place.
  11. This sound so great and if it is possible can you add my Monk character into this. The character name is Kestlona Guhtgeiswyn.
  12. Was able to make it on Kestlona for the last one. Had a good time and would differently come back for this coming week. Have to wait and see how work schedule works out for this tuesday.
  13. Well, I almost had enough Seals to get almost all of the Flame Elite gear (400 short for the shoes). It was funny how John would probably die of embarrassment because of how much skin it shows. I will say this, I dislike the hood but I included the picture with the hood and without.
  14. This sounds interesting but I work tonight so I'll miss out. If I'm off work next week, I'll try to attend. Hope everything goes smoothly for you.
  15. Had a blast last night, didn't get into bed to almost 4 am. Howl bid on John to fight him, (much hugs to Howl) but John lost his second match to an elbow to the head. Looking forward to all future Grindstones to come. *hugs everyone*
  16. So, I hit ilv 130 last night with full upgraded Ironworks gear on SCH. I dye it midnight blue and got a couple of screenshots of it. I think I was mentally going for a blue mage style look.
  17. Hi, just wanted to let you know that we're still here. If anyone wishes to join just pm one of us in game. I'm usually on in the evening, though the LS is quiet for right now. Also a bump for the LS.
  18. Well, I already told Warren and some of the others that John could be throw out for a fight but that I doubt anyone would probably won't to fight him. He would trip over his own two feet most likely and land on his own daggers, which he hasn't gotten much practice out of them. *wanders off whistling*
  19. That's it, I need to get John to grab you for some nice friendship RP chats. We really don't get too enough. But on topic, for John, I'm worry over having him say something that might make people see him in the wrong light. I made him so...likeable, that even in times that he should lose his temper, I have him bury it just to keep people of ooc not liking me. Shoot, John ended up working on one person just about the entire GS, with characters that new the person yelling at each other and I had him yell at them to be quiet. The reset of the night, I then worried about them thinking that he had anger issue. As for Kestlona...well, I'm not on her enough to have RP partners. In fact, I kind of feel left off to the side in the FC she's in because of not being on her so much. The one time I suggest that I was interested in doing RP in the FC chat...I didn't have any takers. And I don't want anyone to think I just want my characters to be the center of attention.
  20. Hm...would he have been at the battle that was first fought to stop the device that was trying to bring down the red moon. John's sister's companions lost one of there first members to that battle. A Lallfell by the name of Micky. John's sister was killed at Carteneau but if he was at the other fight, before the White Raven quest then we could set up a meeting between John and Valen (since John was friends with all of the members of his sister's group).
  21. Yes, yes, I had a blast with that bit of FC plot that you came in to help with. Don't know if Titor has gotten back to you on when to start working on Nerva but we need to meet up again, if only for John to explain why and how he is going the route of a mind healer. And he very worried for Khyran, especially with the replace leg he has now and wants to be there for him. But I won't be on John tonight, planning to do some RP with Kestlona and Red Wings...*sigh* if I get lucky enough to be on when they are.
  22. Massive photo dump. The first few are for an IC Calendar that Zero Division is doing. Enjoy the peace and quiet... and thinking of the future as he looks at the cherry blossom. The warmth of the days and the joy of life. Also, he didn't have much luck on getting Safire a bath. These next set are of his room that he finally got around to buying. All set up to his liking and decorated for the Starlight Celebration.
  23. Hey, Doc, I'll take an invite to the LS for John Waterstrike.
  24. *sigh* Wish I could have Kestlona or John there to see it but I'll be at work until 4:30 pm and then Sis and I are going to grab a bite to eat at the house before heading off to see TSO.
  25. I kind of up in the air about your new look as well. It's nice but for some reason...that style makes Merri look way younger then I'm use to with some of your screenshots of your character. I think that's the reason why I haven't change John hair style since I started playing him. If you like it then go ahead a keep it, Merri. That's just my two gils on the matter.
