  1. My mind has mixed Be Prepared (Lion King) and The Answer (Steven Universe) into a very very strange mash up. >< I blame Sounsyy for Be prepared and I blame myself for Steven Universe. XkU23m6yX04 I4pPT6Tg8Bs
  2. Welcome to Balmung and the RPC! If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Someone is bound to have an answer or be able to point you in a direction. If not, well we can blunder about together. You mentioned being European so I do want to say that there's plenty of European Roleplayers on Balmung. To name a few resources, there is the Europa Linkshell but it seems the current head didn't keep it updated??? There are also a few FCs who are mostly EU as well. The FC I am in is mixed... with a larger amount of EU players (French and German) than there are NA players! In fact I think I'm one of two Pacific Coast USA players... There is also this directory here ;3 http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=9233&pid=127019#pid127019 which I see you found
  3. May she and her children rest in peace. She had motor neurone disease aka Lou Gehrig's aka ALS. So sad Note that I do know the bodies' identities have not been released but it is..m well just not likely that it is not the first three who went missing.

  5. It's been a year and I'm a day late in reminding people. AGDQ 2016 is here. Jan 3 - Jan 10 If you have any interest in watching speedrunning or what not, check it out. If you have any interest in video games, check it out. If you have any interest in video games and charity marathons, check it out. Each year the amount of money raised gets higher and higher. TASBot is going to be on Jan 10 Usual Tyson's Punch-out! Blindfolded is in the schedule too.
  6. Uh, as far as I know this has only been made clear in the weeks since Christmas.
  7. Okay, but, it's been known for literally months that an FC Leader could do this. If they lock you out of the house, you can't reclaim your shit, if you can't reclaim your shit, you can't demolish your room. If you can't demolish your room, you can't leave the FC. This was known literally on day 1 of the patch that implemented private rooms in FC houses. The idea that a GM - a freaking Game Master - could simply be unaware that this was possible is, quite frankly, inexcusable. Do they not play the same game that we play? Are they stupid? Is support composed of three baboons sitting around playing with their own feces? How in god's name could they just not know? I mean, unless support is composed of blithering idiots? Edited to Add: I think it's a hell of a lot more likely that support simply doesn't have a tool built into their client that would allow them to take control of the FC and rectify the situation. Either that, or they're falling back on the old idea that the FC Leader literally owns the FC and everyone and everything within the house. But that would be dumb. What I mean is that a lot of people could not replicate the issue. Even though most of us have played with housing since it came out. No one I knew of could actually describe exactly what was the problem until after this situation happened. So yes I can believe them not knowing -then-. Just because someone says it has happened doesn't mean everyone knows how or what to fix. There were a -lot- of responses saying "uh we just did x y and z and we still were able to remove stuff just fine." "Did they actually even try?" If you have a room, no rights, you can still remove your furnishings, demolish and check yourself out. Even two months afterwards people still go "uh I replicated this myself by putting myself in a rank with 0 privs and had no issues removing furnishings are you sure they were actually locked in?" What I am pretty sure of though is that they didn't have any such tool that would actually remove a leader or change leaders. I have met a few FC leaders who do view the FCs as "theirs" and all the members' accomplishments as theirs when they have done nothing to receive such praise. /salty I've spoken to a few GMs over harassment issues and a few of them (because I can't remember the names of the ones I've spoken to just that they have been different before) have spoken as if they've played the game a bit. But the GMs aren't QA.
  8. *slams palm down on an agree button* I have not thoroughly had the time to RP with Baby Hands but I have loved every interaction! It's been a pleasure each time!
  9. It's very possible. Also possible that the 'public outrage' on the Balmung PF when RareX reporting caused them to change their policy.
  10. http://xivdb.com/item/12825/Stupendemys "If a flying crystal-shelled tortoise cannot be seen as stupendous, nothing can." People have been asking for a flying turtle mount and they did give it to us. http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/246971-Letter-from-the-Producer-LIVE-Part-XXIII-Q-A-Update-Thread?p=3128932&viewfull=1#post3128932 In regards to fighting companions, you realize that there are some people who will want entirely new ones to make their mounts 'special'? 'My drake needs to do more than just breathe fire.' 'My griffin is 5000x better than the regular mobs and it needs to be set apart.' And calling out white knights are the most idiotic and nonsensical thing to do. If you want to 'constructively criticize' then I am just as allowed to defend or counter your opinions. Because that is all they are, opinions. If you want, you are free to join in any of the Official Forums threads to make your complaint heard. At least then your voice is actually heard. Or Reddit. You are also free to continue here, but again at least your voice will be heard there. Here I am free to defend what I like just as much as you are free to dislike and voice it.
  11. There is no "all logic" being thrown out for a tortoise flying. It's in the fucking game that there is a flying tortoise. Per Companions fighting, they already said this shit in a live letter. If they do it for one companion they have to do it for -every single mount-. They have to make now more unique animations for -every single mount- to do battle with. It's not feasible for their team. If you read one of the interviews you can see how poor their staff is. They can't even make new 60 fights for the level 50 primals because the only people on their staff who can are working on, get this brilliant idea, -future content-.
  12. Moving towards a finale does not mean the finale is here. But it sounds like the Heavensward / Dragonsong storyline will be coming to a close considering they have plans for the Ishgard ward in the future.
  13. Additional wards are planned for 3.3 Sometime after are apartments and then isghard wards. Problem with wards is that there is a lot of gil in circulation that even the max price non-devalued houses can go very fast. 5mil, 35 mil, 70mil ranges. It should be noted that people are now receiving warnings for their public sales on PF given enough reports (don't know anything about WTB pfs).
  14. here is the translated New Year Post FFXIV Producer and Director Yoshi-P here to wish all of you a Happy New Year! On behalf of myself and the entire team, I’d like to thank you all for your continued support. Last year saw the release of FFXIV’s first expansion, which was something we wanted to do since the early days of 1.0. The launch of Heavensward made me feel like we are now on the right track, nearly five years later. We announced the development of Heavensward at the Fan Festivals to end 2014 with a bang, and we traveled around last year to build momentum for its release, from the Nico Nico Chokaigi, all the way to a castle in Nantes, France. We also held exciting events in the months following at E3 in the United States, China Joy in China, Japan Expo in France, gamescom in Germany, the Tokyo Game Show, and finally G-Star in South Korea. Looking back on 2015, and how I was able to meet all of you from around the world, I must say it was a very fulfilling year. So as of August 27, it has been two years since the release of A Realm Reborn, and five years since the release of the original FFXIV. In a way, our game is already well into its lifespan as a MMORPG. But it is my hope for 2016 that we remember how it feels to be a new player, and I want to keep this in mind as we move forward together. As I mentioned previously, we expect to hold our second round of Fan Festivals starting from October 2016 and moving into 2017. I can’t wait to interact with you guys again on this worldwide tour! We are already planning lots of exciting announcements, events, and attractions, so please wait for more details for joining in the fun. We will kick off 2016 moving towards the finale of our Heavensward storyline with Patch 3.2. The development team is still working hard for its release in February, but I’ll give you this sneak peek of a new feature for the new year: Now what could this possibly be? I guess you will have to find out in the upcoming announcements! And, as per tradition with my New Year’s greeting, I would also like to share this with you... We discovered this passage on the final page of the diary of the late Archon Louisoix, savior of many during the Calamity, and grandfather to Alphinaud and Alisae. It seems he felt there was a need to translate and preserve these lines. But what are the Gerun Oracles which he refers to? Could they be connected to the fate of Eorzea!? Let us find the answer together this year! FINAL FANTASY XIV PRODUCER/DIRECTOR Naoki Yoshida
  15. I am 99% that everyone who wanted a flying mount thought of Gamera (Godzilla etc) (Dragonball even references it) So I think SE is doing a reference to it

  17. From the JP PR blog... here's a sneak preview of one of the Triad.
  18. MWAHAHAHAHAHA (Taken from the JP blog until it appears in english http://jp.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/topics/)
  19. Pardon my ignorance, but how can someone lock you in an FC house? Can't you just teleport away or log out and back in to re-appear outside the estate? I can understand being locked out, but not in. FC members can be locked out of their house, which means if they have a personal room, they can't destroy it, effectively being held hostage in the FC. Oh goodness, I feel stupid now. That makes sense. I do have to ask, how did the event turn out? I hope that FC leader is kicked or out of the game. Nope. They're still playing, still own the house, no punishment whatsoever. GMs didn't do shit about it. The only reason people got out was because the player that lead in their absence gave into their demands for furniture/gil. I was one of many that reported the FC leader for harassment, the GM said they could not accept reports made on behalf of another player and even though we said Allegro was right there in front of us, waiting for a GM to speak to, the GM said they could only address Allegro in the order the tickets were received even though they sent one long before any of us did. GM support in this game is a joke. The FC leader in this instance is one of those I honestly would not mind naming and shaming on the official forum or here but alas. Unfortunately, in this instance, I do not believe the GM even knew what the problem (what kept everyone from just leaving) is or was. They didn't have the power to do anything about the housing keeping them locked issue (I'm at work but I've read a few things here or there about what usual powers GMs have and don't have.) but they really should have dealt with the issue involved with the FC leader griefing people. Tiergan, with Tiergan's FC help, was only able to recreate the issue in a -very specific- circumstance. Guest Access to the Estate must be turned off. The GMs, most likely as most of us didn't know, that people couldn't remove furnishings if they have 0 privileges, No Estate Hall Access -AND- Guests cannot enter the estate.
