  1. I do agree that we've traded social interaction for efficiency. It was a pain in the ass to manually form groups in MMOs, but in retrospect I valued forming those relationships with people. Adding friends after a good dungeon run and maybe running with them again in the future. My network is currently RP based, and people that I would enjoy running dungeons with just automatically queue for their duty finder on their own. I wouldn't mind more premades with the friends I've made. I get very anxious when it comes to judgment, but I've had very few negative experiences in-game, actually. Most people have been really nice, and while I've had some bad parties, nothing's been to the point where I can't tolerate it. I've heard more negativity about dungeons on RPC and in Linkshells than I have in duties.
  2. The scholarly Ms. Isla Sahb. Comes with carbuncle and fat cat!* *fat cat not included
  3. If this is the case, I would look to conjury for some influence since it uses aether from the environment rather than from yourself. Conjury is also not limited to the three elements it uses in-game, so there's no reason you can't use fire, lightning, ice (i honestly don't even remember what buttons to hit for this ability), or shurikens(???). If I decide to include these mechanical abilities IC, they'll be conjury instead of ninjutsu, though I don't see myself using them heavily. I imagine the Domans developed their own ways, so if you're a practitioner of ninjutsu as described in the game, you can flash some gang signs and make it happen.
  4. I can't exactly comment on how people use their game time playing game content or not. I personally am a bit disinterested in endgame content and am more interested in my connections and relationships that I've formed, so I can't judge someone for how they use their game time. There are many times when people focus only on their own characters, with entire chats being dominated by "My character this, my character that", by multiple people, without really having a real exchange other than to talk about themselves? It has gotten to the point sometimes where I just check out of chat entirely when that happens. I guess I can understand that people are into and proud of their characters, but there doesn't seem to be any real conversation going on other than ego stroking? Maybe others are more comfortable with this than I am, but it's not terribly inviting. Also, the atmosphere isn't often inviting to new people. There are some people who are quite welcoming when someone new makes an introduction, and some people make an effort to answer questions, but often times you have to fight your way in to be noticed by other people. Even in my own experience, it took a long time of actively including myself in chat to reach a point where I was recognized by others. For a while I would chime in and get ignored completely. Unfortunately this is a common occurrence in RP communities, and I kind of anticipated something like that would happen from my previous experience. As far as relaying information goes, it doesn't really hurt to inform other people of events going on. Not everyone is aware that events that are going on, and it helps to strengthen the visibility of gatherings that people organize. Is it something everyone should do every time? No. It wouldn't hurt to make an effort some time, though. The "if people want information they can find it themselves" approach is a bit selfish to me. There are plenty of people that are looking for a place to RP at any given time, and sometimes relaying this info gives people an opportunity to get involved in something they may not have known about.
  5. This would be a fun thing to RP! I'd like to see more merchants and craftspeople in game. I would look at what items leatherworkers use to get an idea how you might progress. You could get an idea of maybe the power or rarity items hold. I can't think of anywhere it would illegal, but you might want to look into: Gridania and poaching. The Twelveswood has a sort of pact with the elementals and they are not the kind to take more than they need from the forest. This is to the point where NPCs will even say "I want you to collect # of this item for me, not a single more! We don't take more than we need." Tailfeather in Ishgard. They capture chocobos, but there's some quest material involving the slaying of them and their thoughts on poaching, but I don't quite remember how it goes. If I can think of anything else I'll let you know!
  6. Hello art sluts. Here is an elf boyfriend. Hint: it's me.
  7. Good luck! Hit one of us listed on here or in game if you're still interested when you're back on.
  8. I'll play! 1) South Seas Furniture 2) Music Boxes 3) Falconer Shirt 4) Company Tabard 5) Thavnairian Bustle 6) Fat Cat 7) Bathtub Happy Starlight :cactuar:
  9. A have a few NSFW ones I made recently. :3 Oh bebe. I wanna see some Cailean :cactuar:
  10. Is this your first FF14 piece??
  11. Oh, stockings will be stuffed, IFYAKNOWWHATIMEAN
  12. We've got our company workshop which is probably an IC work space of some sorts. We've got an airship, which we probably don't own IC, but it's there, and we're letting a mammet run off for long periods of time to pirate goods. In the mean time theorycrafting caster and crafter auto-attack DPS
  13. I'll share because you used the cactuar emote. http://marcotumbles.tumblr.com Semi-NSFW at times? I draw cartoony nudes of men, so there are dicks, but they're not overtly sexual or anything! I don't think. Thanks everyone! I appreciate the feedback. I'm usually a bit apprehensive because I feel that my style doesn't often appeal to people in game communities, but I'm having fun with it. Currently I'm thinking of taking /icam screenshots from events and redrawing them, because I love how random they are. But! I'm wrapping up a drawing for a member here, and I have to work on publishing a new portfolio website, as well as some art pieces to upload to society6.com to sell prints and merchandise of!
  14. Hey! If you're still looking for people, you can take a look at my wiki and let me know if you're interested. Alderique would be currently traveling in Ishgard, though I often RP in a timeless bubble due to events being in various locations. Traveling in Ishgard, but lives in Mist.
  15. I-I'll be over here, waiting patiently for the gender swap to happen.
  16. I would think this could potentially done? It's tricky! I've been doing some reading about Wildwood and Duskwight differences. Apparently in 1.0 the skin tones were much more distinct. Currently in 2.0 Duskwight. have access to more diverse skin tones, where as in 1.0 they were pretty railroaded into the more obvious Duskwight skin tones. I imagine that other Elezen would be able to tell your background, but it would be easier to hide with people who are not as used to it? Elezen tend to be a bit proud too, so it's probably uncommon for a character to try to disguise their background. I don't see why it couldn't be done, though! The only other physical difference I can think of is that Duskwight have keener hearing due to being used to living underground. I'm not sure if their eyesight is enhanced or not, though.
  17. Thank you Eyenigma <3 I do like conceptual stuff, and may eventually get into something like storyboarding, but that will take much more drawing practice (mainly just drawing such volume, and being able to portrait different character styles more easily). In the mean time I'm developing work in graphic design as well, and am interested in combining art/illustration/design. Time will tell!
  18. Same reason Ryu is in Smash, and not Chun Li or any other Street Fighter character. Cloud is by far the most recognizable and popular Final Fantasy character there is. I like Cloud... he's not my fave, not even in FF7, but I like him. ^^ It's just so out of place. FF7 was never on a nintendo console. I know there are some other non-Nintendo characters, but I didn't like them being added either. As was brought up in RPC chat, they could have done a FF character from 1-6 since they were all on Nintendo. Missed opportunity for a little black mage, or some kind of FF1 warrior of light tag-team character, like Pokemon Trainer in brawl. Black mage/white mage/(fighter or red mage), plz.
  19. Wha..? Why! I don't. Could have at least given us a Crono. He was on SNES at least ;.;
  20. There's potential for him to cause some trouble, but it could also just be him being lazy and not wanting to do anything as usual. With Artoirel having doubts about whether or not they should even be a high house given the nation's, maybe Emmanellain wouldn't want to give up their way of life and may end up supporting rebels.
  21. *pats* It's the whole "want something you can't have" ordeal, maybe. Ald looks absolutely cute with that hairstyle in your avatar, btw. <3 Thanks! And it's usually "Oh that one's cute! Oh he's straight." ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  22. Sorry, love. ;P There was a couple of fine Elezen gentlemen who aren't gay just on the page before: http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=14151&pid=228510#pid228510 Ain't it always like that. And naturally I find the straight ones the most attractive. It's like that IRL too, I don't get it!
