  1. Scrapped the original Momoto! Didn't feel like replicating the reference I was working with.
  2. Solo emoting is a great way to show people that you're down to RP! It's a sort of social display. I think people nearby may make more of an effort to include or approach you if they see that you're roleplaying. If you're emoting to make your character appear antisocial or unapproachable, that could get in the way. When in doubt, keep an eye out for other people who are into RP and don't be afraid to send a tell to someone who's open to it! Many people say "tells welcome", and I've had a few Quicksand interactions that started with me OOC asking someone if they're up for RPing, or if they would mind company at their table.
  3. I love my dorky smiles. Dandy Rubh'a Valor and Arthurioux
  4. Haven't been drawing much FF14 lately, but decided to do some drawing in photoshop earlier. Here's a Momoto in progress: I'ma creep around the lodestone from time to time for reference, so ya'll been warned.
  5. I have joined the bandwagon alongside an old friend who has started building models and watching some of the series. So far I've built a Build Fighters Try R-Gyagya, and a Gundam AGE Baqto. I've seen Wing, Build Fighters, a portion of Build Fighters Try, and most of 08th MS Team. Will probably watch more in time as I continue to hang out with these folks I've built them with, but it's an enjoyable activity and genre.
  6. So my soundtracks in my head, it's hard to narrow down. For Okhi I'm going to select this track from Legend of Mana for having a kind of lighthearted feel, but also a bit adventurous and forward-moving, maybe? 2QX5UeM-ZzY
  7. Answering for Alderique, I got: ESFP Extravert(31%) Sensing(3%) Feeling(41%) Perceiving(50%) I'm INTP in the real world. It's a little hard to answer the social questions without letting your real life bleed into your character life (i.e. large RP events are draining to me IRL, and I often end up wallflowering more than I imagine he would IC). It seems.. Accurate enough? A little more focused on social activity than I imagined, but part of the challenge of answering for a made-up person.
  8. A night in Coerthas. This is what I run around in during HW content.
  9. This is one of those subjects I avoid as much as possible IC, because it's really difficult to tell the value of anything. I tend describe my gil use in generic terms, like: a handful of gil an amount of gil enough for a modest meal and a night's stay at an inn enough gil for a drink and a tip for the barkeep It's vague, yes, but I think everyone's going to have their own ideas of what gil is worth, especially since financial RP can be exaggerated by characters who are either playing very rich or very poor.
  10. Just one, from me! I need to lurk around and take more screenshots, and in first-person.
  11. Moon Faire hot springs Grindstone spectators
  12. Welcome aboard! I'm a fan of frequenting the RPC to chat a bit and keep an eye on upcoming events. Hope you enjoy it.
  13. Good luck with the wiki! They can be super helpful in getting people to engage with you, and learn a little more about your character. My character has a history in Gridania when he was a child and a teenager, but visits from time to time, and may be visiting more. If you find yourself wanting for connections, feel free to let me know.
  14. Welcome! The forums can be a good place to ask questions about lore as well as scope out what other people are talking about. There are some very knowledgable folks who keep track of all sorts of things.
  15. Edits to the original post with current updates! Thank you everyone who has reached out to me since then, whether on this thread or in game.
  16. Updates to body text and linkshells to match what's going on at the moment!
  17. "Haha, holy crap I can't believe she's actually doing it. Students never fall for that."
  18. Thanks for hosting a cool event! I even got a little gil out of it.
  19. I am guilty of internal monologuing a lot, and I'm glad to see this comment posted! I always wonder if it annoys people. I do it for a few reasons. It's a way to me to explore my character's thoughts by getting something out into writing, rather than letting it swim around in my head. Sometimes a situation doesn't call for speaking or acting, so I want to show that I'm engaged in and aware of the situation by contributing a post. I don't mind that it's revealing anything, because to me it's similar to how you'll see cutscenes of a part of the story that you're not physically present at. It's a snippet more for the player than the character. I have have a bias in favor of characters with traditional names, appropriate to their race. I know there are always exceptions, so the execution of any deviations is very important to me. It's one of those things I accept for the sake of getting along and roleplaying. I don't like in-character race changes, but accept them for the sake of getting along. I would prefer if someone retires their previous character concepts and creates a new one. I am into ERP, and I get pretty anxious about it. My anxiety is mostly about what other people will think, and not actually having any personal problems with it. It's not something I try to pick up quick flings for though, and prefer it with some in-character build-up, or at least an opportunity to get a feel for how the other player roleplays and writes. I am fine with a mean/bitchy character who is played by an agreeable player. I am turned off by mean/bitchy characters who are played by mean/bitchy players. My roleplay is social time, and I like to spend my time with decent people who I get along with. I'm not here to entertain jerks.
