1. Kellach is always out there posting and engaging. We haven't RPed much, but I definitely remember the time we did! I also happen to love the yellow aesthetic. He really sticks out! You can't forget Kellach ^^
2. Welcome welcome welcome! Looking forward to seeing you at the QS sometime!!
3. A flicker of light told of the match-strike. The freshly lit pipe failed to add much to the already thick atmosphere of the basement lounge. Several figures sat huddled around a wooden table in the dim light, the entire area strewn with the untidiness of their rough trade. "So what are you suggesting?" came the voice of one of the dimly-lit figures. His voice was raspy, like the press of Thanalan sand. "If ye'd listen," replied the energetic brogue of the man who had just lit his pipe. "What I been suggestin' is that..." His voice was cut off by one with the telltale calm of authority. Rich, experienced. "...that we recover it first. Or at our earliest convenience." The sinewy pipe-wielder nodded, waving the lit pipe about a bit, as if to suggest the boss had the gist of it. "Bohanon," said the boss with a single hearty laugh, "You ain't half as dumb as you seem." The table erupted in laughter at the pipe-wielder's expense. He himself joined in with a self-deprecating smirk. "Well, boss. The pickin's been awfully slim as late." The boss nodded into folded fingers, resting his elbows on the table. "Tell me what you find out."
4. The blonde broke off another piece of bread with her fingers, giving it a longing taste. "Mmmm, this is so good...!" she added with an energetic laugh before drizzling on a few drops of honey. "I'm staying here at the moment!" she gestured sort of randomly around her, "At a boarding House, 'Beneath Leah's Branches'. Have you heard of it?" She added almost off-handily before taking another bite of bread, "Normally I'm in Ul'dah, though."
5. I'm with Odette! The brunette is very natural, warm, and welcoming. The white is unnatural, and for me off-putting. But ultimately you can enjoy both, it is very cheap and easy to change up your style!
6. I didn't see this when you posted it, I love it!! ^^
7. Unfortunately most of my screen shots didn't turn out very well. So much dancing with people! Alderique, and Chachan, and Howl, and more! One did turn out well though: Aya having a late-night blast with a mystery dancer!
8. This was so much fun I can't even tell you guys how great it was! I don't have the words! Thank you so much for putting it on!
9. Thank you so much everyone! This was a really wonderful event, and I enjoyed all of the creative poems that were shared! Thank you to Rinhi, and to the judges Here's Aya's Poem: A Spring Bird's Song O, dear little bird! Sit and sing now for me? Tell me what it is like? What it is you have seen? Just how high can you fly? Just how far can you see? Of where you have come? And what lies between. Of fresh breaking Spring, the fall of warm rain, Of lifting grey fog stirred over the dale, Of rising sun's light 'cross broad open plain, Of winter thaw's sound in deep river vale. Of oceans wide calm and rivers loud roar, Of frost's nipping cold, which drove your long flight From where you were born, learned to sing, and to soar. Now homeward you're bound, after winter's long night And here just to stay, to rest tired wing. So lucky we are, to hear the bird sing.
10. That's a great way to put it Warren and Zhavi! They're like an almost-IC thing whose main role is to contribute to immersiveness and our vision of the world and the characters we populate it with They do reflect on both the giver and receiver, but I wouldn't worry too much about seeming gossipy!
11. The amazing Warren! Although now he's known mostly for the silly punch-each-other contest he holds every week, before that he was already a pillar of our RP community spending his day, er, holding up a pillar in the Quicksand He has always been a treat to RP with, somehow managing the grumpy veteran with a shadow over his features while being simple fun to interact with. One of my first real friends from the RPC and a great part of our community! Love ya Warren
12. Yay! Welcome to Balmung and the RPC! :-D :-D
13. A Spring Bird's Song A poem written and recited by Aya for Wayfarer's Rest: Poetry Competition O, dear little bird! 14. Welcome to the RPC! And to Balmung! I hope you find the RP you are looking for
15. But the glomps were appreciated I bet! Blonde moments are a fact of my life I really can't escape them! :-D In-game I think this usually has to do with mis-tells, or sometimes not looking carefully enough at patrons in the Quick Sand :-X This last week Aya approached a group of three ladies and greeted them as "Madameoiselles and Monsieur" That sort of thing is really embarrassing!
16. Oh shoot Thursday at that time I already have plans and I'll probably be busy until after the event is over. For some reason I thought it was Friday. Edit: If I finish my new poem in time I shall post it here at least! :-D
17. If you give people a section in your wiki to! That's what I'm encouraging anyway I had a section for years until just a couple days ago. I removed it bevause it never saw activity and the big blank section made me self conscious. I was starting to think it was some vestigial organ part of wiki formatting that no one actually used. It can be hit or miss. Some roleplayers leave them religiously after any RP session, and some people only leave them when someone tags them first, and some people just forgot they have a wiki at all. The purpose of this thread is to encourage it Both leaving sections open for it, and writing them for others! Be bold! People will appreciate it!! And reciprocate :-D (often anyway!!)
18. If you give people a section in your wiki to! That's what I'm encouraging anyway
19. I've been planning to attend! Can we use an already written poem or should it be one we're presenting for the first time? I am working on a new one but I'm not sure if the right inspiration will strike me in time
20. Okay great! ! ^^ I am often looking for a place to drop in with someone to RP. I just don't want to feel like I'm invading someone's space! That's why I asked
21. Pssssssssst! Rumors are still one of my favorite ways to build RP community, and to "spice up" wiki pages with interesting and fun tidbits. Just wanted to encourage everyone again to open rumor sections on your wikis (and if you don't have a wiki, you should start one! Simple and short is just fine!!) and to leave rumors on the pages of those you meet! Every little tidbit makes the world a little more immersive, and makes the character a little easier to know and imagine!
22. I enjoy chatting with Okhi! She's always so eager and energetic :-D.
23. Freelance Wizard is the reason the RPC is so amazing We couldn't have asked for a better Captain to bring us into ARR! I haven't RPed with him yet, but I really should! Always so much fun to chat with and run with! Just always one of my favorite people around here
24. The massive Highlander stood at his full height. An imposing form that stood in contrast to the serene expression he typically wore. He listened fist to the half-agreement of the strange Lalafel smith, and then to the Dragoon's suggestion. The military, indeed the Dragoons themselves, were the most important base of customers for the Dunois smithy. For weeks they had deflected missive, after official missive, inquiring about the readiness of their armament orders. The mere mention of them raised the quiet indignation of the Highland Apprentice. Stubbornness and defiance were the very essence of the ancient inheritance that was his lineage. Distrust of a military that seemed the foundation of all of Ishgard's woes, seethed just beneath the surface of the man who longed for peace before all else. But, it was the Master Smith who's pride alone could answer the offer: "Truly Madame Dragoon," he replied with the best bow he could offer. "Your suggestion is replete with wisdom and sense, from the perspective of a soldier. But, with all due respect, lances and spears are not nails. They are not interchangeable. Your brethren know what to expect from one of our arms." He gestured toward Osvald with the pride of an adoptive father, "I have taken years to ensure that my apprentice's craftsmanship is up to the same rigorous standards that our clients expect. I have no doubt that your friend's craft is well honed," he stated with a tone of deep respect, adding a bow of his head toward Chachanji, "but I cannot take such word as proof when my reputation and commerce are on the line." Osvald nodded after the Master's statement, adding his own in more curt fashion. "Whatever your trade secrets, they are safe. We know our craft and have no need of theft. But you use our space, our tools, our forge. We shall watch that they are well-used." He lowered his goggles to cover his eyes as the slowly turning auto-bellows began to bring the forge fire to renewed life. Each mechanical hiss brought a fresh rush of heat and light from within its depths. His voice rose above the din of the fire, "If the Master Foreign Smith does not wish to learn how to make nails, then he can feed the fire. I have no doubt that young Claude would gladly trade the shovel for the hammer and tongs." "The sooner we finish. The sooner the Dragoons get their arms." He turned his attention back to the forge, while Master Dunois smiled with a warm expression to their guests, as if to excuse Osvald's outburst.
