So you Think you can Dye your Chocobo
Austratus replied to W'seckhi Asah's topic in FFXIV Discussion
I fed 15 plums only and was able to get Snow White. -
How Does Your Character View Names?
Austratus replied to Unnamed Mercenary's topic in Character Workshop
Kroemgarr is very proud of his own name, and of traditional Roegadyn names in general. He prefers people call him by his given name, but when he recognises someone who has trouble with the Roegan language, he'll begrudgingly allow them to call him something easier. He'll, in kind, do his best to refer to anyone my their given (formal) name at any time, though he does have trouble with Miqo'te conventions-- he'll usually forgo the tribal prefix of Seeker names and the numerical suffix of Keeper males where he has trouble fluidly pronouncing them. -
Aaaand there's another one~ Welcome to RPC and the world of Final Fantasy! And as mentioned in a recent intro thread, there's more than a few old hero veterans around (including myself)! Good luck getting into Gilgamesh if you haven't yet, though. It's one of the few servers that tends to be capped because of its activity level, but it does become available in the mornings when traffic is down.
-
Hallo, Banquo, and welcome to Eorzea! Hope you're settling in well. (Psst. Is it just me or are there more heroes coming out of the woodworks recently? I totally mean this in jest, of course-- I'm another one of those CoH veterans people keep mentioning.) Hope to see you around Gilgamesh server~

Keep in mind that, while the Ixali BTQs are unlocked at the same time as the other dailies, you can only initiate and turn in the missions as a Disciple of the Hand. Luckily, you only need to *start* training in a DoH discipline to run these quests-- there's facilities across the North Shroud for use by any crafter regardless of EXP level. However, you do need to make sure that you're attentive to when you should be in crafter's gear and when you need to be ready for battle-- I've already walked out of Fallgourd as a mid-teen Armorer and got slayed by a wild Lv37 Dryad. Don't make my mistake.

Head to your nearest Lodestone right now and read what's on the block for Eorzea's latest developments! [Defenders of Eorzea: Patch 2.35 release notes (18th August 2014)] Including: * Introduction of Ixali beast tribe dailies. Keep in mind that these are different from regular BTQ, in that they focus on delivery and crafting as opposed to battle objectives. * Allied beast tribe quests have been added for those who have completed the main objectives for each tribe! * Chocobo coloring has been added! * Skywatchers have been added. These will tell you the current weather in a region. They are located in Ul'dah, Gridania, Limsa Lominsa, Coerthas - Camp Dragonhead, and Mor Dhona - Revenant's Toll. * Changes made to the Hunt system. * And more...!
-
Whew. I just decided to follow your character page on Lodestone, but I suppose I might send an FR as well-- at some point today. Could be now, could be in the evening. As for Kroemgarr, he's... hither and tither across the realm for whatever random reasons (training in martial disciplines and the like), but makes "home" in Ul'dah and the Goblet.

Even that list isn't entirely exhaustive. I know that despite the FC closing down (well, more or less), Driftwood Coast's shell is still going and active-- I'm not sure if they're handing out pearls actively, though. I know that I found my first group of people to RP with on Gilgy (... being Drift, actually) by scouting the housing areas for RPFCs. More than a handful of 'em have guildhalls.
-
Yeah, I'll speak to the fact that Gilgamesh is more of an FC-focused roleplay server than Balmung is, but it does exist. Gilgy is also home to more communities than just RP (it's also notably the "unofficial Reddit server" IIRC, which might be part of the reason why RP is more privatized here), while Bal has a well-spoken RP population that's more established due to Legacy and whatnot. While I really do hope that more people give Gilgamesh a chance (server space permitting), if you find a good server to call home it's all the power you need!

I'd assumed it to be a dye since it follows naming conventions for one... at least in English. (The Japanese site lists it as レルムリボーン, or just "Realm Reborn" transliterated).

"Ugh I need to update my character's Wiki"
Austratus replied to Berrod Armstrong's topic in RP Discussion
Started Kroe's a week-ish ago. I've got more than enough wiki experience, so I don't need too much help, but darn does it need to be worked on. (Like half the others I need to do for certain other OCs.) -
That's Some Nice Gil Y' Got There... (Balmung)
Austratus replied to ZindelloTarantella's topic in Welcome Desk
I know who you are~! -
For Gilgamesh, I think the Black Sails might qualify. I'm not in it, but a former FC mate is. Their address is Goblet 3-15.
-
I have no experience with Balmung, but there's a much stronger presence of players from that server on the RPC, considering its history as an RP server goes back to 1.0-- and you'll find that because of this comments seem to lean towards there as the more established / better server where it's easier to find players that you can just walk up to. (Not that I'll dispute any of them. I have some of my own friends bugging me to join that server!) Gilgamesh is more of a melting pot of communities that happen to include the RP sector. The conception with us Gilgameshians is that players prefer to join companies or linkshells and play with them rather than out in the open-- but with that said, walkup isn't exactly a bad thing. Just be sure to ask first! (But that goes with any server! I've done more than my fare share of "ambushing" at a bad time.) And, no matter where you go, I hope you end up enjoying your time in Eorzea!
-
Yes, Gilgamesh! Yes, more Roegadyn! I'd definitely like to look out for you, though I'm not knowledgable of too many LS (except the ones for my former and current companies... and my solo LS I'm name-camping for ). Keep in mind that it's the Free Companies that are the equivalent of player-run guilds, while Linkshells function more like global channels. Feel free to PM me here or look me up in game if you have any questions about mechanics and some basic lore stuff. I'll do the best I can.

Hello! Greetings and Salutations! Am I doing this right?
Austratus replied to Kou's topic in Welcome Desk
Welcome to XIV! I'll throw in a word for Gilgamesh, and say with it that it'd be nice to RP with you if you come over here! Also don't look at my wiki, it's not done. -
Welcome, welcome! Gilgamesh is still an RP server, but it's also one of the ones that tends to be full most of the time.And... I'll admit there's some truth to the fact that Gilgy RP is less public than Balmung's might be. No matter which server you choose, I hope you enjoy all FFXIV has to offer.
-
Hopefully it's not too late! Gilgamesh needs more love. Hmm, if I catch you around in game, I might be up for initiating some conversation! I'm not around as much due to some other MMO commitments, but I do try to keep some kind of regular "schedule" of sorts.
-
I want to extend kudos to Loetzoeng Barabhir(syn) for the launch of his Free Company, and to Desmond Aryll for opening the door of his own to me despite how part-time I am with XIV at the moment. Gilgamesh represent, yo.

Have a look at what came in my mail today! The only issue with it was that some of the inner part of the jewel case was broken-- and I have no Blu-Ray device to actually play it on right now-- but everything is in order (and I even redeemed for the Mammet Bahamut already). I might be tracking down Before Meteor as well, but it is considerably rarer, and unless someone is hoarding a first-run copy I won't be getting the Dalamud code. We'll see, though.
-
As far as I'm concerned, I'm happy enough just getting my Wyrm gear. But! That is a sweet armor.

I like looking through nonsense threads like this sometimes, so bring it on! EDIT: I'd probably suggest a stickied thread for general character concept brainstorming.
