I'm a dude and for the longest time I exclusively played men. It was default. I like men, I like male persona, It all panned out. I wanted to play women but there is a stigma from men playing women who would be total creeps. There was also the idea of catfishing where people may think I was playing a woman to trick other dudes. I mean not my intent but the concern was there about if a character or my character showed interest in theirs there would be impulsive ic ooc bleedthrough where I would be considered a creep. It is only recently as a roleplayer that I have been playing female characters even making my main a femroe but I still feel worried about preconceptions from others.

As far as the magic dampening is concered I got it from the blurb on the Gilded Magitek Armor. A friend informed me it was there. As for her reasons those I am still working out. She initially started out hunting down lost and scattered pages of the Necrologos but I assumed she always differed in opinion on the topic of hands on scholastics. The concept behind her is Tomb Raider meets Van Helsing so she is definitely a see the world type. I was also curious about non-standard means of using magic. Like artifacts and items. A big concern I have is the attitude others might have toward a character who is not only Sharlayan but isnt a standard "Insert game class here." She uses things like clubs, rapiers, chains, utilizing aether to enhance her strikes like many other melee eorzeans but deals in magic items like a barbarian artificer or something. A real rogue scholar.

So I've recently started RPing a Roe named Rebel Yell (Yes I know after the David Bowie song.)) I've been crafting the story around her having been from the colony. She basically studied there, became a Sharlayan Conservator, and focused on the study and upkeep of relics and the elimination of Void-sent. She uses gilded alloy weaponry to dampen magic and chains to contain relics. I was curious about the lore implications and the possibility of more experience lore experts and the opinions of other roleplayers about gaining some tips and info on the matter of how I can better build on this character concept.

I'm reminded of when Omar Little dies near the end of the wire. The dude goes around town as this badass and when he walks down the street people yell OMARS COMING! But toward the end of the series Omar is killed off by this little kid while doing something simple like going to the store. I mean sure you've got yourself a master swordsman but the way I see it while you've got your own story going. While you're the master swordsman there is someone else who is up and coming and such a fight doesn't have to end in you winning just because you say your character is better. A character always has room to be surprised. Dice combat is the great equalizer between you and a stranger. Sure it is unforgiving but it is better than getting into an argument with everyone you meet on the street cause you simply have to have the best character. If you don't want to lose in dice combat then get with like minded people who don't mind your character beating up theirs all the time. I lose a lot of rolls, so do a lot of people I know who are older and more experienced badasses. Usually you try to let them have their moment to shine by making their victory as rewarding or interesting for them as you hope they'd make it for you. If it doesn't work out, whatever.

Whenever I see someone tag their character with "Trash" or more specifically "Trash cat/catte". It ain't one of those 100% all the time those people'll be an issue but I'm learning to just downright avoid that sort of thing and hope one day someone will surprise me.

Thank you! I'll read more about it soon. I'm looking for two other people as well! Syranelle ;-; thank you. I appreciate your support. Blake misses his older sister. I probably should have been more specific about that. I've been looking around on any lists I can find and reading up on lots of folks rules and themes. I'm looking for a little bit of everything honestly. I need a little bit of everything in my rp. Too much action going on becomes tiresome and very "Well what disaster is going to befall us this week?" too much slice of life and it starts to feel like I'm playing the sims. I'm trying to avoid companies that are more criminal prone. Vigilantism is fine but I'd like to avoid blatant criminal empires and voidsent. Companies who are out to do good are what these two characters are for. I've said it before but I'm browsing for two more people so that also has been part of my decision making process. Anything that offers adventuring, exploring, slice of life, and mystery solving works! Aster is a highlander red mage and was raised by a military dad. She has a strong sense of optimism and while is hopeful she is also practical. She can be perky until it comes to the mission in which her tone tends to become a bit less flighty. She joined her father's magic mercenary free company "The Laughing Ravens" For a time, but then moved on to actually trying to make gil for herself and find adventure. She enjoys solving mysteries and studying ancient relics and gushes over post flood findings. She also helps run her cousin's antique shop and runs her own personal mystery solving business. Blake Forester is a half raen (Hyur/Au Ra)Malaguld and former criminal turned good guy. He can be silly at times I know what with his current goings on with "Cloud Rider" But the character underneath is actually kind of a grumpy goat. He is very stern but passionate and can sometimes fall into periods of deep reflection and seriously doubt what he is doing. Overall his desire is to make up for his crimes in Othard by any means necessary and someday find a home in the Steppes again. Blake used to carry an axe, but has since abandoned it in favor of the fist as a part of his desire not to kill anymore.

Been a while since I've posted on here. I'm looking for some activity around Balmung. I used to play Doctor Ozerov but now I play: Aster Ozerov: Red Mage and owner of the "Ozerov Do Anything Agency" Blake Forester: Former criminal trying to live out a good life and help others live. I'm hunting for an FC that has a more "Neutral to Good" feel to it. I'm not sure what is active around here anymore so I thought I'd poke in and ask. I'm usually on in the evenings. I have some other folks who might like a home too. Please contact me if you have anything.

I've actually cancelled it. I apologize. :<

Didn't know you guys ran your own dodgeball tournaments. EHHHHHH maybe I shouldn't do this one then.

The first ever Eorzean Dramatic Spectacular Romantic Terrifying Life fulfilling GRAND DODGEBALL TOURNAMENT! You may be asking "What the hell is Dodgeball!" If you're asking yourself that then I feel sorry for you since you've gone your entire miserable Dodo infested life without the soothing feeling of hard plastic bashing against your face. A lot of balls will be going into a lot of faces come this tournament and we want YOU to join in. Registration? ITS FREE! Dodgeball is a sport recently being introduced by noted Medical Professional and Crackpot conspiracy theorist Doctor Kaisin Ozerov created for the sole purpose of alienating friends and loved ones as swiftly as possible at what was supposed to be a friendly picnic in the Shroud. The rules are simple. Each team will be comprised of three suckers participants. It is important that these teams come up with a unique team name to identify themselves! The Ref will toss up a ball into the air. The swiftest member of their respective team will be selected by their team-mates to grab for the ball. Choose wisely! The team with the ball makes life miserable for the opposing team. Chuck that ball as hard as you can at the opposing team by any means necessary! The faster and harder the better! Oh no! Those guys just chucked a ball at you! If you get struck by this ball then you're out! But, hit or miss, your team now holds the ball. Select your ball chucker and hurl it right back at those who has oppressed your people! Repeat this until one team is completely out! If anything the team does pops the ball in defense or offensive plays then that person is automatically out! The grand prize for this tournament of champions is 600K, split evenly among your team or, if your team so chooses, goes to a single teammate in a sudden death three way match between the three of you! The Where: Costa Del Sol The Why: Because The When: February 24th 8PM EST The Prize: 600,000 Gil prize. We will have booze, food, and whatever else decides to slither onto the beach! ((OOC)) The mechanics are still being worked on, but essentially we'll be working with rules seen in similar competitions such as the Grindstone or Spellguard. Each team of three represents a health pool. Each team takes a turn. Initiative rolls will be selected by their respective teams and will be labeled "The Ball Grabber" Whose duty it is to roll initiative for the team and grab the ball. Once in play, your team will chuck the ball in the direction of the opposition by selecting the victim target. Use any means you feel is necessary. Abilities, powers, and aether are allowed so long as they don't pop the ball. The highest roll in any defensive or offensive play wins and you either dodge or knock someone out respectively. We encourage you and your team to sign up here on the forums or to contact me, Doctor Ozerov in game with your team's name, teammates names, and that'd be it! Our hopes is that you're creative with your team names, come up with personas or gimmicks, and generally have fun with it.

I've been building towards Red Mage as a character concept for quite some time now so I'm pretty excited by this, and I know a friend of mine who is too. I'm also cautious because last time I was excited for a new job I got Machinist and it ended up being pretty bad right off the bad. I'm still going to level it right as it comes out but I think we should be ready for the job to be pretty underpowered right off the bat.

Introduction: "The greatest joke I think I've ever heard was that everyone had some purpose in their life, some deeper divine current that progressed their life forward and helped them eke out some meaning beyond that of just straight forward survival. You got so many people out there lost, looking for purpose, looking for that defining moment where they clutch their hand against their chest and say yeah, this is my time. I'm not here to promise you a future with glory, sunshine and sparkles and all the applause of the Grand Companies. I'm here to give you a leg up, a second chance, an opportunity to find your own way." "We here at Fool's Rest, we don't really got any better idea than you do about things like right, wrong, good, evil, the future, purpose, meaning, and all that other manure folks spread around all over the landscape. We just do what we can to do what we feel is right by others. Folks, they don't always agree with that. But we've made peace with that. I've got enough friends fighting in the light playing things by the books. We're just fine living in the shadows looking out for one another, and for Eorzea." OOC: Fool's Renaissance is a roleplaying free company situated in FFXIV's Balmung server. We're a Medium to Heavy RP company focused on overarching plots, personal storylines, and internal character conflict. Characters come from every walk of life, with a general theme of broken pasts and hopeful futures. With the eclectic cast of characters at our disposal, stories tend to waffle between occult horror, crime drama, conspiracy, film noir, and at times, yes, we even dare to do adventurer's tales. While we are advertised as a Vigilante group, our goal isn't to lock you into that. We welcome roleplayers from all walks of life who want to live on the cusp of such a theme, or even want a place to call home. Our time zones are primarily U.S. based. Rules: Please don't misrepresent the company and be respectful towards one another OOC. IC conflict happens; if we feel that the bridge between IC/OOC is crossed, we'll try to work things out. There are many common sense things we ask you to avoid, like ERPing in public and harassing your fellow roleplayers. Otherwise we have a very open view on RP and the lore but ask that RPers don't deviate too wildly from core aspects of the lore that are important not only to our internal players, but community players as well to establish a unified setting. While many of us participate in shadowy, dark storylines, be respectful if someone finds something you do offensive or rude. But also be mindful: character conflict can and will happen. If you find certain themes another player is doing to be not to your taste, you have a right to back out of a story. Leadership: Doctor Kaisin Ozerov: Occult Wahoo and tax dodger. Neheon Wolfsbane: Hunter, chef, and protector. Avigail Amaranth: Information broker, Airship pilot, and mechanic. Rosa Lindelle: Budding Conjurer and possibly the tooth fairy. If you have any questions please contact one of these fine folk and we'll line up an interview. We prefer to RP with people before we let them into the company. You can contact us via IG, contact me on the RPC under Ramen, or you can contact us at our tumblrs http://rhotano-rose.tumblr.com http://aura-huntress.tumblr.com http://olisnark.tumblr.com https://doctorozerov.tumblr.com

So hi. I thought I'd repost this here in "Connections" as this is what I'm looking for right now: The Cost of Magic: Prologue “Ever since I was young the subject of magic has always been something near and dear to my heart. It ignited a sense of wonder in me that despite my training for physical combat caused me countless lost hours of sleep delving into any books I could reach on the subject. When I got older and struck out on my own I started to really understand what Magic meant to me. But I also got to see what it meant to others. Over the course of Twelve knows how long I’m going to be focusing on the subject of magic. The benefits and the costs. I’ll be interviewing well known practitioners as well as discussing controversial areas of magic which some might find disturbing. I am writing this preface as a means of getting word out there that I’m looking for you assholes and either I’m going to find you or you’re going to find me. So make it easy on yourselves and find me. Doctor Kaisin Ozerov.” So I just want to say that I’m thankful to everyone who reads my blog and takes time out of their day to sift through my grammatical bullshit to see the humor or lessons that Doc may or may not pass on. But there is something I want to try doing now and that is writing a series on magic in FFXIV from an IC perspective from multiple IC sources. So I’m looking for several practitioners of the art who may volunteer to discuss their vision IC either In Game or Via Discord with Doctor Ozerov. You can contact me on here through the Ask system or on the RPC under the name “Ramen”. In Game I can be contacted under Doctor Ozerov or Blake Forester. Just send me a tell! Just a fair warning Doc is very much the kind of man he is in his blog and can be forward with his questions. But I’ll try to keep it within a realm of comfort for anyone upon request. My blog can be found here: https://doctorozerov.tumblr.com/ where I post IC Articles, journals, ramblings, art, whatever.

You know what is shocking Doctor Ozerov in this picture? Your lack of presence in ERP. Or he may have seen someone eat their own head. Very likely someone eating their own head. You should not eat your own head. You should join ERP. join the damn linkshell.

It has been a while since I've posted anything to the thing here. I practice a lot and rarely post anything to larger audiences. Sorry! Anyway here are a few things I've worked on lately. Lots of sketches and some concept work for a plot I'm working on.
