Massive kudos for an awesome rp with Liadan Summerfeild just now while I was on Atrium Crow. She let me get a feel for the character and also helped me figure out a lot about the Crows and how they work with aether. Was a -very- productive rp.

So. . . you know that thing I do occasionally? Round 3?

Hmm, this is true Nako. Its an interesting concept but a flawed one the more I think about it. Probably be better off and just dismiss it. Making it too complicated at that point as well and too easily prone to power gaming rp. So thinking we scratch silver idea. Yay brainstorming. -
Yay the boss is back!

So. . . you know that thing I do occasionally? Round 3?

Well Warren, here's what I'm thinking. Brainstorm time! Arc one will be a bunch if small scale rp events happening between people as they try to unearth the cult and learn what is happening. Once the cult has been unearthed we will shift to arc 2. Arc 1 at this time is of an unknown length but should be at least a week or two minimum. Arc 2 begins once we are set up and the full list of people.on each side is locked and cult is discovered. Arc 2 will be three big, once a week events. Event one will be the Crows trying to steal a magic book from Ul'dah's Black mage guild. Event 2 will be the crows and their masters in Limsa planning on sacrificing 5 people to make soul stone in 5 different places in Limsa. Event 3 will be the cult trying to recover a magic staff near Gridania. Now arc three is based on how things happen in arc 2. If crows win two of three events(we'll work out how the winning works later) then the big event is the cultists try to resurrect a dead dragon. If heroes win two of three, then heroes try to perform a ritual to destroy parts they took and Crows try to stop withzombie army. Either way, arc three has zombies. Lol. Thoughts and feed back always appreciated. Also, side thought, was considering that Crows, not the living.members of the cult but the dead assassins, can only be put to true rest by being hacked up with silver weapons. This would give a side plot of heroes trying to gather silver if they learn that weakness. Thoughts? -

Pfff... who did you think I meant when I volunteered above? ... How the heck did I miss your second post in this thread. :dazed: Glad to have you Roen. However you want to help is more than welcome to try to stop the Crows and their masters. or Making a Crow. or Spending the entire arc waiting to be a sacrifice to nald'thal cause you being in a cell during an rp arc is a meme now. Lol. Glad that this event is generating interest. I'll try to get a sign up ready once set up stuff is done. I'll try to have an outline for event this week. This event is a little easier to run since it involves mcguffin getting instead of loads of politics. -

Had a couple pm's about this so thought to post here. People asked me about details of making a crow. Honestly, I hadn't gotten to in depth with yet but figured a Crow wouldn't remember exactly whom they were while alive, just have personality traits and snips of memories. They have to obey the one whom returned them to the corpse and subdued colors of skin and hair was recommended to me in one pm and I think that's a good idea. So far, tons of interest in this one. I'll try to get more ready as soon as able. -

Currently at work but thought to post some brainstorm on idea. The cult will be serving a distorted version of Nald'thal. The cultist assume Nald and Thal are two halves of the same god and tattoo half their face with black ink. Half the cult is dedicated to the commerce half of Nald'thal and opperate in the business of death, selling out their "Crows" as assassins for hire for coin and to increase the wealth of Nald'thal's soul bank in the underworld while also excelling at commerce in real goods like wool. The other part of the cult is aimed at ending life on the planet and making the underworld, Nald'thal's domain, the only place souls reside, for this would make Nald'thal a monopoly on the soul market. (Hooray commerce and cults!) The idea of event is the "The Voice" of Nald'thal is trying to collect the needed parts of a spell to resurect what he believes to be the mortal coil of Nald'thal, a dead dragon, so that Nald'thal may use the dragon to kill and fill the underworld with souls. Cults...why can't they ever have nice goals. That's my idea right now. Figured cult would be easy to attract living people for its monitary focus and its "Crows" are actually corpses with dead souls infused back into them that don't rot due to magic. If anyone makes a "Crow", just make Crow the last name and have something related to a doorway or building as the first name. Example "Atrium Crow" Or if you want to rp a living member...just show up. They take all true believers once they pass the entrance ritual. Which requires the applicant murder someone. Yay cults! So that's all I have atm. Let me know what you think. Oh,if you join cult, half the face of the character who is a member has to be tattooed black to show devotion to the two parts of nald'thal. -
The elezen gazed from beneath the brim of his cowl as his dull eyes stared intently at the walking miqo'te. The elezen scratched his chin as he sent his will out and examined the aether flow radiating from the miqo'te. It was sufficient. It was not the best host for the soul he had chained but the soul was fading, death leeching away the qualities it had once had, the qualities the elezen had wanted in the first place. The hooded and brown robed elezen waved his left hand and two figures, dressed in ordinary garb began to follow the miqo'te. Both men we unremarkable save that the left half of their faces were tattooed black, just like the elezen's was. The elderly elezen turned and began to stride through the leaf covered street of Gridania. This miqo'te would serve as the perfect coil for his newest "crow." The elezen gazed around him as he went, smelling the scent of rot around him as he ground fallen leaves beneath his heels. His god was the god of death, the merchant of souls, and he was the voice and will of his god, the instrument that would return his god to its mortal coil and flood the markets of the underworld with countless souls when the time came. And death always came in time.

That you all for feed back so far. I'll start digging around and see if I can't work a cannon appropriate way to mix Verads idea with zombie dragons. Maybe something akin to the cult In Dragon's Dogma only mistake Dragon for incarnation of their version of the god in question instead of worshipping dragon itself. -
Well at this point, its safe to say we have enough images to make calendars for the next decade at least. Rofl.

Hello ladies and gentlemen. The hours of ghouls and horrors is upon us and may the heavens open and return to this shell of a word the judgement of our dark savior. Ahem. Lol. So my last rp event was a learning experience for me and i got to meet tons more awesome people to rp with. I also learned some good lessons, included how not to step on toes and that zombie combat rp can be hilariously awesome. So, was wondering, anyone up for another event, though a much more subdued sort. I'm thinking of a less Garlean angle and a more cultish angle. Not sure what the cult would be or what they would worship but resurrection of something and zombies would be fun. I'm sure Meta xi could enjoy killing some more zombies anyhow. Thinking that cult has to make a various number of sacrifices and collect certain things for the rituals. And, what I would like, is that anyone willing to help be a cultist could carry out missions on their own on case I can't make it, sort of how Larforet was able to help me when I couldn't be online during last events. As for cult members, they certainly don't need to be black mages, could just be normal individuals who are part of organization, which itself doesn't have to be terribly large and these events don't have to all take place in cities since cult could be all over. Also thinking this would be a more drawn out and slower event than last two to slowly raise the stakes with minor events happening such as theft of magical artifacts and law enforcement finding murder victims. So, my questions are these: What would be something that would make sense for cult to try to revive or summon? Dead dragon? Person? (Hesistant to make it a primal but is an option) Anyone interested in being part of cult? Feed back in general appreciated.

*Askier's ears twitch and he grins in excitement as he flicks the safety switch mounted in his left arm off before he turns his attention to Osric as he aims the gun barrel in his magitek arm at the scoundrel's chest* "What was that about needing to be shot in the chest?"
-
ooh had to think on these. Here goes: Strength: 12 This used to be higher but since he lost his left arm he isn't able to utilize his new, mechanical limb as well and reduces his ability to extert full lifting power. Dexterity: 9 This also used to be much higher but with the new, heavy metal arm and the munitions it, plus the fact he can't control the appendage very well or feel anything with it reduced this stat a good amount. Fortitude: 19 Askier's prime attribute. Askier's body is a tapestry of scars, wounds, and broken bones. He has been tortured, shot, stabbed, emaciated, and broken on numerous occasions and still clings to life like a mad man. Sure he spends a bunch of time in medical wings but he's still a tough cookie. Intelligence 18 Askier is rather knowledgeable about some things, especially explosives and magitek, but ignorant in others. But he is a fast learner no matter the topic being learned. Wisdom 8 Ahhh common sense. Askier's little failing. He is well known to take action before thinking and often makes choices many would find dangerous or incredibly stupid. He is still capable of some rational thought but the more excited he gets, the more daring and explosive things he decides to do. Charisma 14 Askier is surprisingly good at making allies when he wants to and whether it is is naive charm or is extroverted personality, Askier is able to endear himself to people with surprising ease. Now keeping them endeared to him once they get to know him is another matter.

Kudos to Crofte and Mcbeef for the fun rp last night as their investigations continue to ruffle feathers...mostly cause of the Mcbeef. lol We, the Red Wings involved, had some fun. And it's always enjoyable being grumpy at Natalie. Also kudos Ragnar for letting Ashwynn and I drag him around Ul'dah looking for dates and Delial and Edgar for the amusing dialogue.

((Repeat from Kage's Alternative Timeline writing prompt. Figured I put in here as a dream sequence and then write a new part about Askier's reaction to the dream when he woke up.)) Askier gazed at himself in the mirror, his brown hair slicked back behind his ears and his Garlean dress uniform was pressed. His face was free of scars and his bushy tail swished to-and-fro in excitement, though his face was covered in a calm smile. He had made it at last. Captain Mergrey of the Garlean Army, one of the few miqo'te to ever have reached such a rank, and an honor he never would have received if had not been for the political maneuverings of his father-in-law, Adin Adonis. Askier flashed himself a toothy smile then and stood straight. He recalled that moment, five years ago, when the Calmity had rocked his faith in the Empire's power. He had almost fled, almost given up his life here, run with his sister like a coward. But Adin's adopted daughter, Ashwynn, had talked him out of it. He had listened to her. And here he was, five years later, a captain, a husband, a father, an uncle to his sister's children, and well respected for his engineering feats in the realm of explosives. The miqo'te turned and looked behind him as the door to his office opened. Askier's office was richly decorated, with deep, mahogany desks and walls, thick, red carpets beneath his feet, and large windows overlooking the city. Askier smiled as he saw the white-haired miqo'te that stepped through the door. "Master Mergrey, my Master Adonis and Lady Ashywnn are here for you." "Jin'li." Askier replied, his voice polite but stern. "Please, let them in and then have a seat, you aren't looking well." It was true, the white-haired slave of his father-in-law was looking sicker and sicker each time Askier saw him. Askier felt sorry for the frail male. Adin had told Askier Jin'li wasn't long for this world and Askier would miss the white-haired servant. Jin'li was the most loyal person Askier had ever met, and certainly the most polite. "This slave is happy to serve, Master Mergrey." Jin'li said flatly as he then held the door open. Ashwynn was the first to enter. Askier looked at his wife and smiled as he saw the small bundle she carried. The miqo'te couple meet in the middle of the room and kissed for a moment before Askier looked back and gazed into her ice-blue eyes. "And how are the two of you doing?" Askier inquired with a grin, his teeth flashing. Ashwynn shrugged playfully. "Would be better if you were home more, instead of making me drag our daughter up her to see you." Ashwynn replied, feigning annoyance. Askier knew she didn't mind that much. Well, maybe a little. "Well, I'm sure she enjoys the traveling." Askier replied with a wink as he looked down at his little girl and felt his heart melt as the little face looked back up at him, her mismatched eyes fixed on his own. One of the little girl's eyes was gold, the other, ice blue. Askier held the gaze with his daughter for a moment and then looked back up at his wife and gave her another kiss. "Captain Mergrey!" thundered a voice and the couple separated as Askier lept back and stood at attention. A tall, elderly Garlean entered the room, a grey beard on his chin and wrinkles around his three eyes. The tall man wore the uniform of a Garlean major and marched straight up to Askier. Askier went to give the man a salute, but Adin wrapped the smaller male in a hug and laughed. "You should have seen your face!" Adin chuckled as he released his son-in-law. Askier gave a sheepish grin as Adin tussled his hair. "When you use that title, I'm not sure if you are addressing me as your relative or subordinate." Askier admitted. "Well, right now, this is to see my granddaughter spend some time with her father. I'm taking you out to dinner. Immediately." "But I need to keep working on the prototype weapon. If the operation against Ul'dah is-" "Ul'dah?" Ashwynn inquired. Adin gave Askier a disapproving look and then looked at his daughter. "We'll discuss it over dinner. I'll send Jin'li to fetch Saravena so she can join us. Shall we?" Adin looked at Askier. Askier knew he couldn't say no, even if he had wanted to. A free dinner was something he would never pass up. "Why not? No place I'd rather be than dinner with my family." Askier mused as he walked over and took his long, black coat off a peg and slipped it on as Jin'li held the door open for them to leave. "No place I'd rather be." *** Askier awoke and blinked as he gazed up at the stars overhead. The night wind blew, dusting his face with specks of black powder from the open barrel next to his head. The miqo'te grunted and sat up. Drumstick lay next to him, slowly breathing as the chocobo slumbered. Askier smiled at the bird and gently patted the animal's head. "Funny, only place I can sleep well is next to a bird." Askier remarked with a tender smile at the animal that had saved his life so many times. "Squawk." Drumstick answered sleepily as the bird opened his black eyes and blinked. Askier kept petting Drumstick as he looked up at the stars, the grass of Red Wing HQ waving in the wind. Askier thought back on his dream. The possibility of what his life might have been if he hadn't run. If he had stayed for Ashwynn. "Maybe I did cock it all up." Askier sighed, speaking to his bird. "Maybe I should have stayed. Adin would be alive, Saravena never would have been in a cell, and Ashwynn would still have a home. And I never would have been skinned alive." Askier shuddered despite the warm air. Askier looked around him. How much of the recent event in Ul'dah had been his fault? How much of the death and suffering had been related to his selfish flight from the Empire? How much? Askier reached over to his bag and pulled out a bottle of whiskey. The miqo'te took the bottle, and, with practiced skilled, pulled the stopper out with his teeth and drank a quarter of the bottle in two swigs. Askier coughed a bit as the burning fluid ran down his throat. He hadn't had whiskey since he and Roen had spent that time on the boat, but he needed it now. Drumstick looked at him and the Garlean pulled the bottle from his lips. "What you want? Some booze?" Askier grunted as he met the bird's gaze. Drumstick stood up and suddenly snatched the bottle from Askier's hands before the chocobo threw it off the cliff with a jerk of his neck. "Hey, I was- ack!" Askier was cut off as Drumstick suddenly flopped down on Askier and pinned the miqo'te beneath his body. Askier squirmed but could not free himself as the bird put it's head on his chest and went: "Squawk!" Then Drumstick closed his eyes and went to sleep, leaving Askier looking up at the stars and forced to think. "Ruddy bird." Askier grumbled as his right hand started petting the bird. "Least running away let me meet you. I just hope this all works out, you know? Is it too much to just want to be happy and carefree?" Askier sighed as he spoke to his mount as the wind moaned through the Goblet.

((Oh this sounds like a fun challenge. Alright, I'll give it a try. Askier if he had never left the Empire 5 years ago.))
