Jin'li's ears twitched as he opened his black eyes and looked up at the ceiling. He was lying on a table, shirtless, long acupuncture needles sticking into his flesh and muscles as he spoke, his voice expressionless. "This slave has spoken to our masters and was instructed to inform you that your request is to be granted, but for no more than four suns, at which time you are to return to Ul'dah. Is that acceptable for your needs?"

Hey everyone. Kudos to all whom participated last night. You all are why I set up event number two in the first place! Makes me feel.good to know so many had fun. And wanted to say thank you all for rolling with the hiccups that happened. Meow then, Kudos to Kahn'a for running the hero side. The guy has honestly been working harder on this event than I have with all the rp he does and he deserves all the recognition for it. Please send him a /tell thanking him if you haven't Meow, Osric, you...oh you...thank you sooooo much running the baddie side while I posioned things. You have been a huge help and could not have done it without you. Thank you for letting me collar you also and get this rp rolling. Osric offered to keep things running should I miss event cause of work. Something that almost did happen last night. But I got away in the end. Lol. To C'Kayah and his FC and all the others who were cool enough to be NPC's to bolster Osric's ranks, thank you so much. I needed you guys a lot! Also, next event we need even MOAR npcs so if you want to come back, I'd love to have you all. To Laforet, kudos to being the best right hand man Jin'li could have. You saved Jin'li, you've been a brilliant master mind and you've done a killer job scheming and plotting and collaring people with zero overhead from me. You made my life Much easier. Again Kudos to everyone and thrilled for next Saturday!

I'm really glad everyone had such a blast! Course I didn't see 98% of eveNt I was to busy posioning water sources. >.< but I already knew that. I'll be posting the official update later when I get off work cause posting while on my phone gets tiring......may end up doing it via phone anyway. Lol. Anyhow summary. Fight was awesome, GREAT turn out, thank you so Much NPC's for helping baddie side. Will need event MORE NPC's next sat so start recruiting. Gonna be zombies! . . . . Well void send but close enough. For meow though, Jin'li got EVERY water source in Goblet and Ul'dah and LOADS of civilians be dying. For Jin'li, this event was a FLAWLESS VICTORY, even if Warren, Erik, Alexei, and Saravena roughed him up at the end. Also Warren, I loved you being at one of the water sources and delaying me with rp. Was awesome. You might have stioped me, If I hadn't used Jin'li's ultimate power. . . SUPER MANNERS! -

Blood on the Sands Episodic rp event (Rules for Event 2 in first post)

A good question I had not considered. For tonight let's say only in can heal, as if they are acting together as a single PC since its so close to go time but we'll work on for next event. -
"My Lady Crofte," Jin'li replied slowly as he blinked. " we were unaware that your were once a slave. You and I share a bond then and this slave is pleased to know such. Though I fear you misunderstand. You are not our hostage. Lady Crofte you are our implement, to be weilded and pointed by our masters as they see fit. For the present time, they ask only that you rest for a few suns, to become accustomed to the collar and to be mentally and physically ready for the tasks to come. This slave shall contact you when it is time and we shall meet face to face and I shall reveal to you your purpose at that time. We hope this is satisfactory. However, if it is not, we apologize for the inconvenience but we will use you as needed. We trust you understand obeying, as a former slave."
-
Jin'li's head rose slowly as Croft spoke back, her voice entering his left ear via the pearl that connected him to all the collars. The miqo'te's onyx black eyes stared at the wall dully, his face devoid of any emotion as he spoke, his voice monotone, never once changing speed or pitch. "Lady Croft, this humble slave owes you an apology. We were not aware that you had not been introduced to myself and my masters properly. Please forgive our rudeness. This slave is known as Jin'li, and I serve my masters most faithfully. I regret I was not able to meet you in person but matters prevented me from meeting youdirectly, thus why we dispatched our associate. We wish to assure that it was not for a desire to be rude or cowardly that this slave did not meet with you, he was simply unable to be in all the places I needed to be at the same time. We hope that this explanation is to satisfaction and you can understand. Now then, Lady Croft, you were chosen to have the honor of wearing that collar because of your reputation and position. You are said to be noble, righteous, kind, and a capable fighter. Someone we desired to aid us. You shall serve and be rewarded once my masters plans come to fruition. And my masters have informed me, you are to have a wonderfully important roll to play in the coming chaos. Does this please you Lady Crofte?"

Blood on the Sands Episodic rp event (Rules for Event 2 in first post)
Askier replied to Askier's topic in Chronicled Events
((The event will start at nine CDT. For event, both teams will begin meeting with their respective leaders. The villians will meet with Osric at the 'Coffer and Coffin starting at eight or eight thirty. Heroes will meet Kahn'a at the Flames Hall. At nine, an explosion will go off outside the city of Nald and the heroes will rush to see what happened and rp from there. There will be two parts of this event. The major portion of this event be taking place outside of the Gate of Nald starting at nine. Jin'li and a small group will be slinking around inside the city trying to accomplish something. At this time, no one knows Jin'li will be doing this. Should you desire to hunt down Jin'li instead of meeting Osric outside the city gate, we request that you turn name plates off and hunt for him and his group via identifying him that way to represent actually hunting him down in the streets.)) ((Update on combat rules. Please read over for event. Any last minute thoughts are appreciated if they are designed to make combat smoother.)) For combat we are tweaking the system slightly, in an attempt to make things run smoother. combatants will form parties with those they are engaged in combat with directly and all combat will take place in group chat between direct fighters to avoid cluttering up the entire chat window with tons of emotes going off at once and making it difficult to find the person attacking or defending against you. There are two categories of fights for these events “1v1” And “Groups.” Again, this all takes place in party chat. If a fight is one versus one, both players have 3 hp and combat proceeds exactly as described below. Combat will take place as a back-and-forth. Baddies always go first, making their attack (or attacks, if multiple attackers). To see if your attack hits, we will be using rollz.org and using 1D6 rolls for combat. Combat will be based on dice rolls with Attacker and defender trying to roll higher than the other. In the event of a tie, it counts as a successful block or the defender. When attacking, you will post how you want to attack and roll the dice, adding the dice roll to the post: Ex: -Tom rolls his dice and then posts in game : Adin draws his sword and lunges forward, trying to impale his foe with the pointy end. (( rolled 4)) It's important that your post says what you're trying to do, not that you hit, because the defender will roll and then post what happens. Ex: - Ali rolls her dice and gets a five. Since the result is higher, she takes no damage. Ali posts: Meera steps to the side and avoids the attack, grinning. ((Rolled 5)) Now that Tom's attack is resolved, it is Ali's turn to attack. However, in the likely situation of three attackers against one or two opponents, we will use the following rules: A party will be formed with up to three combatants on each side for up to a total of six party members, no more, and will function like something akin to Magic the Gathering. No one else may participate in this fight until one side or the other is defeated. Each side has a total of nine hp that may be split among the members of a side evenly based on number of players on the side. The baddies will go first, and will make all three of their attacks first. Once all three attacks are complete, we will shift to the heroes making their three attacks. Once their attacks are resolve, we will switch back to the villains and combat proceeds until on side is defeated. 1 player = 9 hp, 2 players on a side= one has 4 hp, the other 5 hp, 3 players = 3 hp each. Each side will also have a totally of three attacks that are split evenly. 1 player= 3 attacks. 2 players = one player gets 1 attacks, the other player gets two. 3 players = one attack each. This system is designed to put an outnumbered side on equal footing against superior forces since it is very possible one side might outnumber the other. Should a player want to come as a healer, they are welcome to do so. They will have to join a party as a combatant. All healers have a pool of two heals for the whole event. Once a healer has healed twice, they are out of heals and may attack normally. A player heals by, instead of attacking for a turn, choosing an ally or themselves and healing 1 hp automatically. He have limited the pool to two heals to prevent heals dragging out fights. In between heals, the healers will act as direct combatants like other players. -

What whaaaat!? Kudos to Xydane. You have now made Kage wear a collared leash for being the xth kidnap/hostage/attack attempt... Kage's never gonna be let out again ; ; *Looks over list of people in Ul'dah who now have some form of collar around their neck and blinks* I apparently started a trend when I collared Osric.....

((Ossy we miss you. And you say -my- job has rough hours. )) Okay quick little update: 1) Working on combat rules still, not sure when they will be done but there will be an overhaul for simplicities sake, should work better...hope so anyhow. lol 2) To all who are working for/ hired by/ enslaved by Jin'li for the baddie side, I'm going to have our side try to meet at the Coffer and Coffin by 8:30 CST to give us thirty minutes to get ready and have everyone filled in OOC'ly and then we'll go marching up to just outside the Gate of Nald, where the epic stand off will happen...hopefully. Osric has offered to lead the baddies outside the city while Jin'li does other things so he and Kahn'a will be in charge OOC and IC'ly for this event. 3) (I need to get meeting location from Kahn'a where he wants his side to meet and will edit accordingly) 4) I'm looking forward to this! 5) I'll have more stuff soonish, questions or constructive comments always appreciated. -

Oooo oooo ooo we need bad guys! Jin'li has so Mich he can promise . Lol. Seriously though, I'd be thrilled to have you rped in. Jin'li has had his ear to to ground looking for quality employees. Hook could be he has heard of your characters talents and approaches him to make an offer if you'd be up for it. I can do pm rp or in game, though my in-game time is kinda stretched and rp via rock is easier withmy work schedule. -
After last night, I need to give some massive Kudos to Kahn'a Od'hilkas. The fellow has been running the hero side of my up coming event and the poor guy has so many people flying at him wanting to rp and asking him things that I'm actually going to be limiting my rp on Jin'li in game for the next few days so I can be on Askier in game to help him out. He is an amazing roleplayer and awesome for helping me organize this event and deserves a round of appluase for all the help he has Been to me so far getting event set up. Also Osric kudos for you and Kahn'a as well for doing this last time. I had no idea how much harder to run the hero side is. 0.o Also, to Osric, Kanaria, and Leilani, you deserve props for letting me put those collars on you IC and basically complicate every rp you have had since. I am a right bastard as Jin'li and I swear they will be off soon for I am kind. Also, Erik Mynhier, was a blast to rp with again and kudos for having so much stuff thrown rapid fire at you last night IC wise and running with it so well. Thrilled to have you back. (P.S. you haven't made the women of Ul'dah weep yet have you? )

I'm actually running/about to run a fairly large rp event called Blood on the Sand under Balmung event thread starting this Saturday, though technically its already begun, and the bad guy side is in need of additional man power since the heroes side outnumbers the antagonists . Lol. If you would be interesested in participating as a bad guy, I'd be happy to work a way for your character to be involved.

Tiergan's Thread of Shameless Self-Promotion [No Commissions. Apologies.]

HOLY RE-FRIED BEANS BATMAN!!!!! iT'S AWESOME. -
(Based on rp between Raven and myself) The storm was howling, wind and rain slamming against the stones of Highbridge. The river beneath the bridge was swollen from the hours of ceaseless rain; and the nearby town of Drybone was no anything –but- dry. Lightning flashed across the sky and roaring thunder echoed across the land. A figure stood on the bridge, her clothes soaking wet as she stood at the railing in the middle of the bridge. Raven Gorehand’s lips were pursed and she was scowling. She was supposed to meet her contact here. She had information about what was going to happen to Ul’dah and she needed to pass the information along as soon as possible. Her hand was on the linkpearl in her ear and she was yelling over the wind and rain. “Alright, I’ll see you soon. Thanks for making me wait in this!” Raven’s voice was sarcastic and she turned around. Lightning flashed and Raven saw a second figure standing there. The figure was dressed in a black coat that billowed about the small frame wildly as water dripped from soaking, white hair. Lightning flashed and a pair of onyx black eyes stared at her calmly, a silver gunblade shining bright in the flash of light. The figure bowed and then spoke, loudly, but without emotion: "Forgive my presumption, but are you the Lady RavenGorehand? “I am.” Raven answered apprehensively, her fingers flexing as she noted the weapon in the figure’s hand. “Don’t I know you?” The white hair, the voice, the silver gunblade, why was it familiar to her? "Forgive me for not introducing myself, for you certainly do know of me. You served Askier Mergrey once, whom in turn served my masters. You are now considered a threat to our operations and I have come to handle you myself." Jin'li raised his gunblade and pulled the hammer back, thunder roaring overhead. "Any last word, Lady Raven?" Raven Gorehand smiled and shook her head. She had no weapon, she left them on her chocobo on the other end of the bridge. She sighed, her mind accepting her impending fate as she looked up at Jin’li and replied: "Death to the Empi-" Without emotion on his face, Jin'li pulled the trigger, sending the projectile straight into the woman's chest. Raven Gorehand 's body was sent flying backwards, blood spraying from her ruined chest as she toppled over the side and plummeted towards the swollen river far below. There was a flash of lighting and a roar of thunder as Jin’li turned and began walking back towards Drybone, the smoking barrel of his gun slung over his shoulder. Jin’li walked until he came to the edge of the bridge and looked back, his dull, black eyes gazing at the puddle of blood that was being washed away by the rain. Jin’li bowed and spoke calmly. "Please forgive me, Lady Gorehand, that was rude of me." Jin’li turned back around and resumed his walk. In the distance, Jin’li could see the distantglow of lights from the town of Drybone. Jin’li squinted against the rain and thought. He needed to reach his agent inside Drybone, to discuss a new development. Word had reached Jin’li that a man called ‘hope incarnate’ had returned to the streets of Ul’dah. A piece which might threaten his masters' entire operation. A man whom had made Askier nervous for his chances of success back when Askier had still served Jin'li's masters. A man named Erik Mynhier. A man Jin’li needed to meet.

Brainstorm for Episodic rp event ((Poll up for getting best of the week))
Askier replied to Askier's topic in RP Discussion
Welcome back! If you want to be on the heroes side, you need to speak with Kahn'a to get roped in IC. If you want to get free cookies and wear black clothes and be awesom...Jin'li can find you IC and recruit you. Happy to have you on board. -

Askier recently went through an injury blender rp arc and he is still feeling the impact and will all his life. I figured I'd cover three types of injuries and how I handle them. Normal injuries: cuts, flesh wounds, knife wounds, broken bones. These can be healed by magic at varying rates but normally a single rp session of magical healing fix these in my mind, while traditional healing take longer. Course scars and marks will remain if they are bad enough but these don't impact a character during other rp after they have been healed or at least been bandaged. Major injuries: these are injuries that require direct roleplay, such a missing limb, and sometimes cannot be healed by magic quickly, or at all. Askier currently is missing his entire left arm cause of an explosion and I rp that it cannot be regrown or healed. It has been a bit of a change rping him with one arm but the injury has developed him as a character and created interesting rps. Mental trauma. This is the kind of damage I do not think can be healed with magic directly at all. In my mind, this has to be rped out over and over to some degree until the character comes to terms with the trauma or memory.in a natural way. Askier is suffering from PTSD currently and I have one hundred percent stuck with him being a victimof the disorder as I have a few sessions where people work with him to help him but they knew going in that was the point of the rp session. I don't have Askier bring up the issue in his mind if the scene isn't about recovery for the sake of the others involved . Overall I think the important part is that, in the end, the amount of recovery time is appropriate but also let's you keep enjoying the character. If your character sees a healer and comes back relatively okay so you can rp again next time I think most people won't have a problem with it. Rp isn't a ton if fun when your character just spends all day in the sick bay. Lol.

Blood on the Sands Episodic rp event (Rules for Event 2 in first post)
Askier replied to Askier's topic in Chronicled Events
Roen, if you want to be involved you need not worry, for "I am kind" and can easily create a means through which you shall be dragged kicking and screaming into the the fire. . . Or you could just meet the Doctor again....which needs to happen anyway. Lololol. Also, when I gaze upon Osric now all I hear in my head is a little voice saying: "What have I done?" -
I love it! *rolls on floor purring*
