Kudos to Kiht and the other members of CLAN I got to interact with last night at their FC house and to Kahn'a for setting up the rp. I have had almost zero rp with Traditional miqo'te and last night not only opened Askier's eyes IC about being a Keeper but mine to a whole new side of FF 14 rp I never really understood. It was a lot of fun and definatly one of my favorite rp's ever in this game. You all rock!

Terrorist. Not a noun Jin'to had ever expected to give to a member of his family. And yet he was now faced with the reality of not having to call not one, but two brothers that word. His little brother Jin'li, and this mysterious older brother he had never met, with Mergrey. The hot wind blasted Jin'to as he trudged up the massive sand dune slowly, his bare feet sinking into the fine sand. His tail twitched anxiously as he adjusted the board slung across his back. The board was a long, narrow thing with filed, metal edges, a waxed bottom, and a pair of leather bindings dangling from the top. His prized possession. How many years and miles had he lugged this thing across? Jin'to had never been to the sand dunes of Southern Thanalan before, but after last night, he needed to get away, to collect himself. Natalie had almost broken him. His time in Ul'dah had been stressful enough already. Forced to face the truth of Jin'li's atrocities. Cast under constant suspicion. And then Natalie had threatened him. Made him squirm. And, although she claimed he had earned her trust, he was still afraid it might just be words. Natalie was not the kind of woman Jin'to wanted to make an enemy out of. He had already done that by simply asking for directions. Jin'to shuddered as he crested the dune's peak. His golden eyes behind his goggles swept across the landscape, taking in the ocean of sand that danced before him. The beauty of the landscape before him was diminished in his mind as he thought back on that woman he had met in the bar. Hound she had called herself. And she had made is incredibly clear she would eagerly tear him limb for limb for simply being Jin'li's brother. Jin'to wasn't sure exactly what sort of relationship Hound had with his baby brother, but he hadn't thought it wise, or prudent, to stick around and find out. The look in that massive roe's eye. . . Jin'to sat down as he un-slung his board and went about binding his feet to the board, the leather bindings clicking as the buckles snapped shut. The sun shone hot and clear overhead in a empty, blue sky. The wind moaned in Jin'to's ears and he rubbed his face with both of his hands. For the first time in nearly seven years, he questioned the Twelve's purpose for his life. He looked out at the land, that sun baked realm of sand and considered what he was supposed to do now. Should he resume his wandering life, spreading the words of the Twelve, and laying the deceased to rest? Should he stay in Ul'dah and try to redeem the Epinoch name by salvaging what small good will he could with his sermons and services? Why had the Twelve chosen to curse his little brother with madness and let him commit such atrocities? Jin'to buried his face in his hands and was still. He thought back on the smiling little brother he had once known. That little bundle of joy, who, sick as he was, had always been such a kind and gentle soul. How many times had Jin'to held his little brother to comfort him? How many times had they laughed together? Jin'to's stomach twisted. What had happened in the seven years since he last saw his brother to make him into the monster everyone in Ul'dah viewed him as? Jin'to swallowed, his stomach in knots and his eyes were watering. He sniffed and then, with a loud scream of frustration, stood up and hurled himself down the dune, his waxed board sliding across the sands with alarming speed. Jin'to felt the rush as he sped down the hill, his problems and fears, his doubts and confusion falling away as the sense of freedom he always felt when doing this enveloped him. This was the Twelve's gift to him. This was his sense of freedom. The miqo'to sped down, pivoting his weight back and forth, digging in with first his toe edge and then his heel edge to regulate his speed and control his balance. Dozens of feet flew by in a flash and a smile creased the miqo'to's lips, his fangs flashing in the sun as he screamed in jubilation. In those moments of ecstasy, he was at peace. But, like all good things, his run down the dune came to an end. He reached the bottom and fell to his knees. Immediately, his worries and concerns slammed into him again. Jin'to's smile faded as he turned to look back up at the dune and the trail that marked his descent. His feelings of depression were slightly lessened. The priest figured it would take two more runs to ease his mind, three to ease the pain in his heart, and a total of six more runs for his optimism and faith in the Twelve to return. This was his therapy. There was nothing like it in all the world save on snow, and Jin'to had always had this to turn to when things seemed ready to overwhelm him completely. Jin'to rose to his feet, unbuckled the bindings, and slung the board across his back once again as he began the long climb back up the dune and the peace of mind he would find at the top.

Kudos to Natalie Mcbeef for an excellent rp. Nat brought out the bad cop and pushed me mentally as an rper as I had to respond as Jin'to, which is totally different than most of my characters and really helped me get a feel for him personality-wise. Nat made him squirm and uncomfortable. It was fun. Also Kudos to Kahn'a, Alexei, Hound, Nat, and all the others whom have rolled with me using an altered Askier model to represent Jin'to. Thank you. You make a free-time-starved rper's life a hundred times easier.

In the Shadow's of Death's Wings as another Episodic Rp event, and, possibly, my last for awhile. RL obligations are increasing on me and these events are immensely fun, but also rather taxing. As such, I will be drawing on those interested to help move plot along more so than before. This event will chronicle the "Cult of the True God" and their attempt to reanimate what they assume to be the mortal avatar of the god. Nald'Thal, which, is in fact, a dead dragon. The Cult of the True God is a sect of fanatic Nald'thal worshipers lead by "The Voice." They believe that reawakening the dead dragon will bring about Nald'thal's final gift and return all life to Nald'Thal's domain. They operate as both a legitimate business venture, hiding behind various fronts, and an assassin organization. These Assassins, these Crows, are reanimated dead gifted void powers and ordered to kill. The coin raised form these assassination funds the cults religious activities. As normal there are two teams. The heroes and the Cultists. At this time there are two primary investigations occurring concerning the Crows and the cult. Liadan Summerfield or Kage and Natalie Mcbeef's FC are both spearheading these. If you desire to get on the heroe side, speaking with them or sending me a pm is a great way to get rped into the plot! Also, PM Melkire, He's a Crow this time and loves to stab people. As for the Cult side. We always need npc cultists and npc zombies for event days if you just want to show up the day of the events and have some fun. If you are interested in being a Crow, shoot me a pm. There is a lot of back story we have developed on the Crows and need to fill you in. This event will occur in four parts. "Pages of Madness." Part 1 will be next Saturday, the 13th, and will be the attempt to obtain a rare book the cult needs for the ritual. "Virgin Blood" Part 2 will occur in Limsa. Five virgins, either pc or npcs will be scattered around about to be killed and it will be up to the heroes to save them. These sacrifices are to create Blood Stones needed for the ritual. "Need a staff with that?" Part 3 will occur in Gridania, where the cult shall try to obtain a staff needed to act as a conduit to reanimate the dead Dragon. Part 4 shall be based up on which side wins two of the three above events. If Cultist win 2, they event is "To Slay a Dragon" in which the heroes will fight both the Crows and a dragon. I have worked out how this fight will take place, though it is going to be a bit complicated and requires people have unlocked the leviathan fight. If heroes win two of the three events, we go with "With Strange Eons even Death Shall Die." This event will be the heroes holding off waves of cultists, zombies, and Crows as they try to destroy any artifacts the have obtained and forever prevent the dragon from being reawakened.

So. . . you know that thing I do occasionally? Round 3?
Askier replied to Askier's topic in RP Discussion
Thinking about doing event 1 this Saturday. Does this work for everyone? Cause I need to make rp event thread today and need feed back. -
As I went to work all weak and weary, in my mind there formed a query: Anybody else ever use their main as totally different character? And not as an npc, mind you. I mean a fully realized character? I, personally, do this. During my second event, I had a character, The Doctor, who was pivotal to the plot, never existed as his own character. Instead I just used Askier and dressed up up and cropped his hair. And plenty of people rped with me doing this. Currently, I have another character, a fully realized one, also sharing Askier's model, just with drastically different hair, attire, and face paint. I thought it would be interesting to see if anyone else does this at all and what your reasons are. Is it cause you don't have much free time to level? Is it cause you have vanity gear you can't get anymore? Is it cause server lock on Balmung? Or do you find this to be an rp cardinal sin and a huge rp no-no? Thought this could be a fun topic to discuss.

A Realm Reborn. . . Where the more worship a god receives, the bigger their boobs. I can think of worse reasons to want to convert people. Lol.

The inn at Black Brush station was eerily empty. The receptionist sat in a chair behind the desk as a low, howling moan filled the stone room. Outside a massive dust storm raged. There had been no guests all day. That changed in an instant. The door to the inn opened violently as the wind blew both the door and a robed and masked figure through the door. Sand swept and danced across the stones and the receptionist sighed as he rose and took hold of a broom as the new arrival shut the door and began removing his mask. Golden locks tipped with black hung around his narrow face as a golden goatee covered the lower part of his chin. His tail swished aboit excitedly as the miqo'te tipped his head to one side and used his left hand to knock the sand out of his ears. "Do you have any rooms, or a cot I could sleep on till storm passes over?" The sand covered miqo'te asked, his voice polite and he smiled as he realized how silly he looked when his eyes noted the receptionists face. "Aye" the receptionist replied , pulling out a large book and a quil. "Just need your mark on the page and the gil." "Certainly my kind sir!" The miqo'te beamed as he strode across the room, his one black eye and one gold eye gazing around the room as he approached the counter. He took the quill and scrim led his name on the page. "Don't suppose you've seen a short, white haired miqo'te recently?" The blond male asked as he finished writing. "Heard rumor my little brother was down in these parts and have come looking for him." "Your brother?" The receptionist asked as he thought. " Plenty of white haired miqo'te. What was the-' The receptionist looked down at the page and read the name the miqo'te had just written. The receptionist was still for a moment. As the receptionist lifted his head, he pointed towards the door. "Get out." "What?" The blonde asked with a awkward grin, raising his hands. "What do I-' The receptionist pulled a sword out and held it in his hand. The blond blinked and nodded. "Alright. No trouble wanted. I'm going!' The blonde stammered in fear as he backed away quickly. "You want your brother, ask a Flame." The receptionist answered darkly as the blond reached the door. The miqo'te nodded as he fumbled for the handle. Upon finding it, he turned it and raced into the storm, shutting the door behind him. The receptionist looked down at the page and and the name the man had written: Jin'to Epinoch. The receptionist tore the page out, crumpled it slowly and then let it burn over the candle Flickering beside him.

So. . . you know that thing I do occasionally? Round 3?
Askier replied to Askier's topic in RP Discussion
Fun fact: both of Askier's previous events caused, accelerated, or otherwise resulted in folks hooking up. So.. SOMEHOW... this is Askier's fault. Or... he's taking credit. Nothing gets people randy like awesome story arcs and intense IC drama! -
So. . . you know that thing I do occasionally? Round 3?
Askier replied to Askier's topic in RP Discussion
Warren and Coatleque. Accelerated. Askier and Ashwynn... Kahn'a and Sizzie.... Raven and Lellanie... Alexei and ((several significant others atm >.<)) ...I think there are more.... -.- And also, hello people! Have no fear, I will make an event thread probably later when I'm not lazy... Thinking next Saturday for event number one. -
No matter which one is victorious at the end, the Empire would just walk in and crush what remained of the defenses of Eorzea and win.

"This sucks." Askier grumbled as he drove the shovel into the earth again and again. The miqo'te was in a hole almost as deep as he was tall and just as wide. A canvas tarp flapped overhead, held aloft by four poles at the corners and a series of ropes. A hyur sat beside the hole taking a sip from a water skin. "What else should you be doing?" The hyur asked as he swallowed his mouthful of water. "Either a beautiful woman or building stuff in my workshop." Askier shot back, throwing a shovel full of dirt outside the hole. "Hells, anything would be better than digging a latrine in the middle of the desert." The hyur blinked and rolled his eyes. "Wasn't meant to be a serious question mate." The hyur replied. Askier grumbled and kept digging. Not nine bells ago, Askier had been extremely satisfied as he had left his room and Ashwynn in it. Then he had run into Kahn'a. Kahn'a who had waited in the Red Wings HQ lobby for him to come out. Askier had just wanted to get some tea. What he had gotten was an earful from his superior and a stern lecture regarding his recent behavior with his gun arm, followed by orders to head to Western Thanalan, to this mine, and report in for duty. So Askier had and here he was. Askier brushed sweat from his brow. He couldn't be angry with Kahn'a. Kahn'a was just an officer doing his job and giving orders. Askier was slightly annoyed due to the timing and how completely unprepared he had been for Kahn'a tongue lashing, but that wasn't relavant. Askier tossed another shovel load of dirt and sighed. "You sure I can't just use a couple explosives and blow a hole for the latrine?" Askier paused and looked at the hyur, who simply shook his head. "Too risky with all the mine tunnels around and below us. You dig like everyone else." Askier sighed and went back to digging.

...I'm going to blame Askier, of course. Note to self, quit writing AskierxAlexei slash and start writing AskierxAshwynn....... Wait wait wait. . . Flagged for terrorism? I don't know to be excited or concerned that I just ended up on a government watch list. Lol. Don't worry Alexei, AskierxAshwynn may be cannon, but you're the only emotionally troubled doctor in Askier's life. lol

You cannot truly destroy the Pillar, for the Pillar is a metaphor. The Pillar is inside all of us. Now when you say inside us all. . . Where exactly is it located? This is important. For science. Lol.
