1. Letter via a courier to Ul'dah Dear Cici, I write you now from Coerthas. Still as cold as ever here, despite the change in seasons. I have taken up a job to accompany a lumber group to harvest some trees in a remote region that did not wish to go without support. The payment is generous and will make a fine sponsorship for Sir Iron and was upfront. I am glad you told me about Lady Leanne and her concerns. I remember meeting her at the Grindstone as the lady archer who could fight well in close quarters. She was quite strong and quiet in her wounds when there were a lot of crucial ones to deal with; not only is she a smart fighter to protect herself well, but she can handle the hardship and pain that comes with it. She did wait for treatment after many others and held her wounds. For a bard, she is surprisingly quiet about herself as far as her concerns are. It brings me happiness to see her and hear about her adventures, but part of me feels like she wishes for more and cannot bear if her feet take her to somewhere unfortunate. Much as I would not wish it upon her; at the same time I do pray that she not burden herself alone with misfortune and the regrets of life. Sir Iron's tone is always full of warmth and care when he mentions her name and even the air of his presence calms upon reflection. She does have a sweet and caring nature about herself despite the outward look of aloofness that most bards carry for I can see why he holds her in such high esteem. The other night how she still cannot sleep. I have not noticed what she drinks of late, be it more coffee or other such foods, that she tries to stay awake anymore. Her words bring me discord that she believes alchemy will allow her a crutch from the pains in her heart. Has Menphina wounded her so? I do love and cherish you with all my heart, Cici, and I know how pained you were before. If anyone I know that could relate to what Lady Leanne's heart is going through, it is you. She seeks escape, she seeks such understanding that for some reason she was not worthy of love. My heart does hear it; my memories do recall times that I felt worthless and unwanted. That selfish part in my soul which realized that the value I gave myself in their eyes was for naught. I cannot accept such a mindset. Not anymore. Were two people to make such love happen. Much as I wish to solve all of her problems, time and being presence will let her heal by herself. May chance you can share your feelings with her, let her realize she is not alone in such thoughts. Then you will find more solace that you are not alone in yours. All my best, Jancis
2. Made an IC post about how your character can find out about the event. http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=5431&pid=122805#pid122805 If you would like to have some one-on-one time with your character finding out, please let me know. I have a few pilgrim NPCs that can accommodate or Jancis herself can encourage people to come. Touching base with all our performers tonight to get ready for the event which is this Saturday (no pressure) and very happy to have so many people to tell stories and share music. Eee so excited! And nervous, but mostly excited!
3. In the towns and roads of Eorzea, more than the common merchants and simple travelers can be seen. Groups of people in travelling clothes walk upon the roads and stay in the towns and cities. Some simple guards in white plain tabards without marks accompany them. Temporary tents and camps are set up at night for some, others stay with friends and family in the residential areas of the cities. The tone of the travelers is jovial, hopeful, and in good spirits. Songs and music can be heard from the gatherings. By-passers and onlookers are welcomed over to share in drink, particularly cider. "We make our way to Gridania in honor of Nophica." Most pilgrims say, though their reasons were all personal. "I wish for blessings for my crops." "We are newly wed and wish for blessings for a strong family and children." "I want to know more about the Matron." "I've always wanted to travel and see the conjurers. This is the safest way to do so." "My mother wanted to make the trek, but she cannot so I'm going for her." In La Noscea, Limsa and the Mist, the healthiest and merchant of the pilgrims still linger there. Elders of the town talk about Nophica and their own pilgrimages, encouraging the younger folks to go on their own. The docks and ferry have the last of the pilgrims making paying their way across. In Thanalan, Ul'dah and the Goblet, pilgrims stay with friends and relatives in their homes as the travel through. They shop and sight see the tall buildings and wares of the Jewel and share stories in the Quicksand. Upon the roads and towns workers and refugees welcome travelers and swap the news of the days and other generic troubles of life. In the Shroud, Gridania and the Lavender Beds, those pilgrims who make it early meet up with friends and relatives, staying together. Conjurers and botanists tidy up the city, preparing the grove by the Stillglade Fane and raking the fields by the Botany guild to make ready for gatherers and people to sit upon. Priests and devotees for Nophica celebrate in their home towns, passing out apples and small maps encouraging friends who are able to make the pilgrimage should go.
4. This isn't actually a story I was there for, but it was told for years afterwards in the guild I joined that I felt like I had been there. On WoW I joined a raiding guild on a role play server which was pretty good at the time in WotLK. Before I was recruited they had a holy paladin that had a shoddy record of either being a good healer or very bad. They were running Ulduar getting down the intro bosses, Ignis I think, and once again this paladin was playing sub-par. The group was working on doing the achievement so it had a fairly complex system to make sure the adds were handled properly and cooldowns were rotated to keep the tank alive, as well as one dps kiting for the achievement dps check burn. Suddenly during a fight, this elaborate post goes up in raid chat which through many re-tellings of it was quite sensual and detailed, clearly a long way into a heated intimate moment, miss tell that the paladin sent. Mid-fight. In progression raiding. For server first race. As I heard it, the rest of the raid (24 other people) pretty much stopped fighting at that point and let the raid wipe. Vent was quiet until the raid leader said "No wonder you suck at healing." Upon which the rest of the raid burst into laughter and the paladin logged out. After that I'm not sure if he changed names or changed servers or both. But his legacy lived on!
5. Can start spotting pilgrims in the cities time-to-time as they make their way to Gridania. Particularly in the NA evening. When I'm off work. Just as a coincidence. Doing a last check-up with the performers and I think the main event will go on a tad longer than Nald'thal's, because we have a lot of honored guests. Blessings: Those seeking blessings for abundance are welcome to come and speak. Apples: Apples will be available to all who come. Harvested rich and ripe apples can also be taken as a good omen for the body and a sign of abundance in life be it for family, friends, or oneself. Or for those who don't care for talk of omens... they're simply delicious. Screenshots and logs will be taken of the event and posted later on the RPC.
6. [20:42][7] ...Coat needs a big square helmet so she can be Mine Crofte.
7. Ever late with screenshots from events... Images from HoD's Masquerade Ball that was almost a month ago  Took me that long to recover from it! Also the poem I made up for it. Thanks to a certain someone making me enter the competition, I'm lucky I didn't have to go first so I could throw this together.
8. Working in retail a long time myself I understand that. In fact a lot of the best deals are typically the Sunday before Thanksgiving as opposed to Black Friday itself. Always buy what you really want, not whatever is "saving" money; always spending money in reality anyway. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Everything is coming together well and the venue has been cleaned of debris for the welcome of pilgrims! In fact some pilgrims can be seen time to time as they make their way to Gridania from their respective homes already. If anyone is interested in being an official dancer or participant in the celebration please drop me a line. We have a lot of honored guests speaking and performing, blessings to be given, I'm so excited.:lol:
9. Jancis prepared for the night in her room, removing the heavy robes she had dressed in. They had been not needed, but the cloak she had brought proved to be useful as a makeshift sheath. Unwrapping the cloak, Jancis hefted the sword. It wasn't the easily blade to manage, for her at least, and for the most part it was clean. She should take more care of it. A whetstone would be over the top for the circumstance; Jancis doubted it would be used soon. But to make sure it was utterly clean and oiled would be ideal. She didn't own much for metal tools and having oil wasn't something to keep in her space. Getting up, she went over to Iron's wardrobe and dug through it. Sure enough, he had some for his armor. It would do. Sitting on her bed cross-legged, she cleaned and polished the blade. She couldn't sleep yet. It was a dark night, the fog upon the shore clearly a show of comfort and protection from the elements themselves. The Twelve were close. She would have to return and check upon Sir Glacier and return his sword. The chaos of the house might fade with time; but Jancis was concerned if wounds would be tended to. Wounds that were not from blade or club. Most of the night until she fell asleep, she cared for the blade. Next to her a book of words and poems. You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space.
10. This WoW description sounds a lot like my own experience. Granted my raiding was on a role play server. Lalalalala I give you a thumbs up for only being halfway done considering how long Novus has been out! Sounds more like productive free time filler! I definitely use the wiki as a checklist for all the things I can't remember on my own. There are templates to take that make you ask questions and if you look at the Races, you'll see a list of people under those catagories so if you need some lala-inspiration, lala-look at some of them in particular. Also, please get use to hugs if your lala-man is extra lala-cute. Welcome aboard!
11. Letter delivered to the Sworn office for Lady Crofte via courier. Dear Cici, I do miss seeing the sun-soaked beauty of the Jewel and the desert. I did travel there briefly in the past sevenday to find Oscare, but that turned into a failed venture though I did meet up with Sir Aideron briefly. The seascapes of La Noscea give me a great wanderlust urge these days. For each time I recover enough to travel and train once again, perils ensue and I must recover once more. I truly dishonor Thaliak for not spreading knowledge well, for it goes unaccepted. My concern for Sir Iron grows. Would that he not ask for forgiveness so much, then do something destructive and continue the cycle anew. This sparring you walked away from was in the best of action, for not the next day did he do another one without having his wounds treated, then also left once more to fight. I dare think this lust for blood is a temporary reprieve from his true troubles. Yet letting his body go into such poor condition left us all burdened when the Leviathan threatened the coast. I have decided to take up some extra work in Gridania that I might sponsor and gift him with a place of his own, that he might make his own true decisions and feel comfortable that he will not lose what he has worked to gain. I wish him not to feel indebted to me, nor that be the reason for our correlation. Were I able to give freely and still be an active force in his life outside of deals, accords, and vows. Such oaths are diluted in the river of life when spoken too often. Going to Gridania makes me think of Lady Reinette, for what little she has shared about her adolescence speaks of the sights in the Shroud. She is truly a kind and patient woman. There is a curious connection to someone who has helped relieve pain and fixed what seems so terrible; such a gratitude that does not fade easily and is quite sincerely. Have you ever seen her hand? She is brave at times and will not wear a glove, but I feel a pang of sadness when I see it. Surely something bad must have happened to give her such a handicap and from my brief glimpses, for she blurs the sight of her hand skillfully, I do suspect that the damage was done over time. Was no one her healer? I wonder how much of her hand could be regenerated. I would offer such a service to her if not for her spoken unconscious disapproval for the power of regenerative elements. She is quite knowledgeable in the ways of wounds, but she has a great concern for aether poisoning and overuse. I do understand her concern; that I do agree with the majority of them. Yet her wish for prevention of over-scarring was quite burdensome the other night. Many suffered long into the night as we tended to wounds, Master Vann did wander off with his wounds in a drugged stupor. My work on Master Chuchukepa was unsatisfactory and Lady Meli was dismissed from helping after my ministrations to her broken arm and other injuries. I hold not illusions about what my body must undergo for such a life and the elements would not permit to abuse in such conjurations. I must find a better compromise to appease the lady, I would not risk her attentions and work to feel unappreciated if cumbersome. The Still Shore needs a better place to treat the injured and wounded. Would I able to give her a place to keep tools and supplies at the ready it would help everyone overall. I would most appreciate your words on it, I am sure the Sworn know much of medical places. I shall also visit the Goblet to observe and take notes from other doctors so I might provide a similar space. Be safe, I will come to the Jewel as soon as I am able once more, Jancis
12. Yay! The green blur! Plus that is so an ideal color. If anyone wants to be an official dancer please let me know. Also I'm willing to make cotton cowls in either a gobbie brown or a meadow green if people would like to be there incognito.
13. Jancis is more of a support role and is not an officer of the Maelstrom. She'd a medic. She'll answer the call and bandage up enforces and villains alike. Hehehe
14. Same with the falling back idea, in my FC typically a wipe or even one person death results in an 'injury' which is whatever the player decides it to be. A leg, an eye, a concussion, broken bones. It's been free form as far as the severity of the injury, some people use dice to decide where and how bad, some people just do it from their mind or what they were fighting. Another 'death' would result in either a different injury or compounding the first one and at about three it was usually the person was out of commission. Obviously it's all up to interpretation, but I would definitely go with the flee/fallback/retreat/push the person out of your way while you run for your life tactic.
15. "Is truly a foreign land to be thrown into, literally, Master Sigurd." Jancis agreed with Reinette. L'aenoh had a habit of doing rash things with seemingly good intentions, at least how the conjurer viewed it. It was a bolt and first instinct kind of mentality. Hopefully at the rate he was going it wouldn't make him lose anymore body parts. "There are rivers in the Twelveswood that are quite fierce in their current I learned to swim in. It different than the ocean in appearance, but the strength is still there underneath the white foam. Demands conformity at first, then after that is as if the water trusts. Forgive me, I do find water fairly fascinating." Jancis was gabbing until she realized what Sigurd had said before. He did not want fish. Pulling the bowl she prepared for him away back towards herself, she stared awkwardly at the studious man. A light smile came to her face, murmuring an apology before she tried to distract from her blunder and hopefully rectify her assumption. "What else would go well with supper?"
16. Jancis has not heard from Xydane or bumped into him in almost a moon, she'll surely be asking around for rumors of him.

18. How in all the Gods' names did you fit so much cute into such a tiny space? It's so right with the little ear peek at the end.
19. YES! I keep forgetting to ask when I come online. I get distracted I have my "to-do" list then it's all "Hello" and then "Oo, something shiny..." and then hours past and I doze off. :sleepy: After how long you stayed up for the last one?! Unbelievable! I was beyond honored  Yes it was.. 5AM for me when I left.. Something like that.. I slept up to 2PM the next day, I was completly tired.. But.. STORIES ! 5AM! :dazed: I don't know anyone who does that... certainly not me... the past weekend... because... okay I understand . At one point I thought you went off to bed, but then you were so kind and asked if the event was still going on.:lol: Thank you! I'm very excited to have it in Gridania this time around. I know my main goal is to travel around outside of the cities and do some open world role play, but the spot picked out is too peaceful and nice a venue to pass up.
20. What indeed. Not like someone is keeping a crazed murderer in the house... Iron isn't crazed... Neither is Franz. But who else is that crazy? Oi! We all need to be a little crazy. Just not Hnaba-crazy. Shall rue the day, maybe. 4Fc67yQsPqQ
