  1. I played 1, 2, and 3. After that, they started running out of ideas, the bosses got stupid, and I lost interest.
  2. Coatleque

    Chocobos

And I thought... they smelled bad... on the outside...
  3. A few examples of places I have found RP: The Observatory in Coerthas has been busy lately. They have a two-building inn with a bar on one side and a kitchen on the other. There is an inn at Camp Dragonhead, but I don't know how often it is used. Buscaron's Druthers in the Shroud has some activity. The Airship landing in Ul'dah is another sort of private bar and restaurant. Camp Drybone has seen its share of action. There is a Flames garrison, a bar behind the aetherite, an in-door store, and an inn. Whitebrim in Coerths has a garrison in the tower, a field hospital across the training yard, and a mess-hall on ground floor of the tower.
  4. I love your style. That it reminds me of 80's era anime may be a factor.
  5. I wear white after labor day. Socks with sandals. Sunglasses indoors. Fite me.
  6. NPC's 4lyfe! They will -all- talk shit about Crofte in hell eventually. Or be eaten by hammerbeaks.
  7. Know your voice set, and your emotes. Know them -very- well. Experiment with stacking them on top of each other. You can achieve some very good results to convey emotion or desires this way. I've seen many characters do this with powerful effect. One in particular named Thaliak's Axe never speaks. He's a large Roe that communicates with only emotes. It takes practice to do well, but the payoff is worth it.
  8. Giving a shout-out to Riven & Company. I know I don't stick around long, but Crofte's not in a very 'sociable' place right now. I don't even remember everyone's names, but I see you often enough at the Observatory bar.
  9. ... wat? I aint no roe.
  10. Coatleque is right on that edge now. So close to tipping over. If she does snap, I don't know if it would be Dark Knight as much as just fallen paladin. If there is such a thing in this setting. Her weariness at being taken advantage of is starting to trump her desire to protect others.
  11. Middle ground for me. I picked class at first based on the weapon only. I wanted to use swords, and GLD was the only choice there. Once I started playing the game I decided to go full paladin for RP. But Crofte has always fought without her shield, favoring a two-handed grip. So now I run around as DRK when not in uniform. She is still a paladin though (for now).
  12. (Tengri Moks) brb, gotta take the dog out (Coatleque Crofte) Refilling coffee (Tengri Moks) back, sorry (Tengri Moks) puppy is learning to go outside (Coatleque Crofte) Me to. (Coatleque Crofte) Erm... learning to go outside I mean. I've been back.
  13. Beat by 1 inch. It's a 50" Panasonic plasma.
  14. I have that exact flight stick sitting in the bottom drawer of my desk. You know... in case they ever make another Wing Commander game. I've posted this elsewhere, but here it is again. I don't do multiple monitors, I just do one huge one. And I have 5.1 surround. No crappy headphones. Cat included for scale. That's the computer off to the left.
  15. I am confirmed lifeless. Which only means I can never die.
  16. Y'shtola probably doesn't have a white mage's soulstone either. I can remember two instances in the MSQ where she shocks many people with the power she's obtained. They are called forbidden magics for a reason. But forbidden =/= forgotten.
  17. This site may help: http://www.w3schools.com/css/ What you're asking for is handled with style tags on HTML elements. If you want to change the entire style of your page, use a element to wrap everything. Page content here That is an over simplification but shows the basic gist.
  18. Or perhaps he didn't want your lack of commitment to tarnish the stone. After all, it is the holder's experiences that seep into the stone for others to learn from. Why would you want the stone of someone who half-arsed it before you?
  19. They're not, that's just it. Think of them like the cliff notes of learning a trade. It can help accelerate learning, but it's not the only way to acquire knowledge. {edit} In fact, Coatleque doesn't even -need- a soulstone anymore. She carries it now only for remembrance.
  20. I'm not so sure it was actually tainted so much as Jenlyns merely used that as an excuse to dispose of an 'illegally' acquired stone. But I could be reading into it. In my own RP happenings, Crofte switched her soulstone for one carried by a dead friend. Since their souls knew each other in life, I'm using it as a way to add some impulsiveness to the character. Their wills were fairly nearly opposed to each other, so it brings about interesting results.
  21. The PLD 60 quest touches on this a little more. You can find a video on youtube if you want to see all the dialogue, but basically it shows that soulstones have their own form of sentience and can even interact with each other. The relative power of the stone is proportional to the soul of the one currently wielding it.
  22. I treat this as I would in real-life. When I meet someone new, I'm not going to give them a resume or list of all her past accomplishments. Coatleque is going to act as she acts at this point in time based on her experience and mood, and if the person likes her perhaps they'll find out more about her as time progresses.
  23. The little girl peered down into the bucket of water at the monstrosity that circled within. The largest, ugliest sea bass she'd ever seen in her (to date) short lifespan. Also her first catch by coincidence. While her mother was busy preparing the stove for frying, her father came round to stand before her and look down with a smile. She looked up to him. "He's so ugly!" She remarked with an exaggerated shudder of disapproval. "Aye, he may be. Is that so wrong?" "Why can't bass be prettier, pa? I want to catch... an, an, an angelfish!" "There are many, many fish in te ocean, Florence. But ye cannae pick 'n chose the one Ralghr sends tae yer hook. What ye have tae decide is whether ye take it home or throw it back." "B'what iffn' I dinnae want this fish, pa? I shouldda just thrown it back." "Oh, perhaps so. But then ye need tae ask yerself - how long are ye willing tae go hungry before ye accept whatever bounty th Twelve already placed in yer lap? Besides, it mayn't look like much now, but once yer mum's through he'll be delicious. Understand, hon?" "I s'ppose so." Coatleque jerked back to reality when she realized something was tugging at her line. She responded with a quick jerk of her own to set the hook as her father taught her. The line was reeled in slowly and steadily, kept taut against whatever struggled from the other end. The reel locked suddenly and moved the pole from side to side, up overhead and down low to the ground. A sigh of frustration - it was snagged. She gave a few more quick jerks followed by one strong that broke whatever it was free along with the line itself. Her shoulders slumped a little after pulling the rest of the line in and she reached to the small box nestled in the snow by her side to retrieve another hook only to find she was out. "I suppose I cannae throw this one back just yet then." she muttered to herself.
