  1. If you prefer a laptop, by all means get a laptop of course. I've run FF XIV on a Surface Pro 3 already just to see if it could. I for one wasn't trying to discourage purchase of a laptop over a desktop, I just don't want to see someone drop $1500 with high expectations only to be sorely disappointed the next day.
  2. I use quotations in say to denote that it's an in-character message. If I'm standing around the mist talking to someone in my FC, I'll forego the quotes.
  3. Coatleque impaled herself at the bottom of the staircase to the Hustings Strip to raise the alarm rather than lead assassins into the palace. She would have bled out if healers did not hear her scream over the linkpearl.
  4. Coatleque is the no nonsense, by-the-books ship's first officer that nobody likes.
  5. INNception. Get it? GET IT? Cause the inn is stan... nevermind
  6. You will never achieve this on a laptop or tablet device, ever. The laws of physics are straight against you. If you want it to be powerful, it can never be small because energy means heat, and proper dissipation means size. There is no such thing as a gaming laptop despite what advertisers may claim. There are laptops that can play games fairly well. They are not the same thing. Look for a laptop that has either built-in AMD or nVidia graphics. Do not rely on Intel HD - that's only good for office use and blue-ray playback. And if you want to save money get an i5 over an i7 because no games use hyper-threading.
  7. Prepare for more adorbs. Chibi Crofte? Lalaleque?
  8. Life is just a series of bad mistakes that end in death.
  9. There are two options really. Ishgard or Ul'dah. Ishgard's knights are the more traditional 'holy order' while U'dah's Sultansworn are this world's Paladins. Both are still orders of knighthood, but one serves Halone and the other serves the Sultana.
  10. Someone wanted a copy of last night's log file.
  11. I like Lost City of Amdapor's music the most. Reminds me of FF1. And after running so many hard-modes I came to like the battle music there. Posted this elsewhere before. When you take the resting and combat music and put them overtop each other, they line up perfectly:
  12. And the players can chose NOT to fund a game who's designers don't cater to their every whim. Why is this such a hard concept to accept? If you hate gated content, go play a game without it. I chose to stop giving Blizzard my money when they began bowing down to the player base demands. I will do the same when Square follows suit.
  13. "Naked ladies, Naked ladies, Naked ladies, Naked ladies..." (I should read slower before posting )
  14. ISTJ Introvert(91%) Sensing(41%) Thinking(59%) Judging(12%) You have strong preference of Introversion over Extraversion (91%) You have moderate preference of Sensing over Intuition (41%) You have distinct preference of Thinking over Feeling (59%) You have slight preference of Judging over Perceiving (12%)
  15. In the same way, when I do level 60 stuff I go as Paladin because I like having survivability and utility. Anything pre 60 I prefer Dark Knight for the dps and variety in cooldowns. I don't think it will ever become my main class though.
  16. Did they specify, is this a breakdown of current races of characters? Or is this statistics for NEW characters created? Perhaps this data does not include those who've used fantasia? Just a thought. Also, it is hard to look at the statistics objectively when we are a small fraction of the playerbase and have those in front of us as our only viewpoint. There are a lot of role-players who like Au Ra, therefore we will see a lot of them personally.
  17. Keep in mind that these stats are for all characters on all accounts most likely. So those people who have max characters and only ever play one? They're skewing the results a little. I found some things interesting, such as: - PLD took a bigger hit than WAR when people went to DRK. -15% vs -11% - Likewise with healers, WHM took a bigger hit than SMN, but only -9% vs -6% - Gender demographics were nearly evenly opposite between NA and EU - Race selection was fairly constant regardless of region.
  18. I just go with what's available. The sword hangs on the left, and I can't change that, so Crofte is right-handed. If there was some choice in the matter I might be more inclined to change it.
  19. Coatleque would be that girl. You know the one I mean? Yeah, neither does anyone else. That one student who was always nice, friendly, kind of interesting but that was never seen after school anywhere. Who graduated with typical grades then dropped off the face of the earth. When you look back in your class yearbook and find that one familiar face but you have no idea what her name was. That's her. At the 30th year reunion, she's the most successful person in attendance as far as yearly salary and stable marriage goes. It's also the only reunion she attends before dropping back off the face of the earth.
  20. [...] Jancis, Edda, and Ciel are celebrities. [...] [...] Unrelated, I generally feel like crying when someone asks me to RP [...] I am also intimidated by Jancis and Edda and often cry when they ask me to RP with them >_>
  21. Even as far north as Dragonhead it seemed that Dubious Distributions was making headway to the markets. Coatleque had been staying at the inn and was greeted almost daily down by the kitchens to another poster advertisement. Thankfully she was far enough away from Thanalan that nobody had recognized her. The thick, drab colored robes she wore may have helped with that. A hand rubbed the side of her face as she scanned from one ad to another, recognizing each 'model' in turn. "Oh... Miss Llorn, what have you done?", she muttered quietly to herself. At least her personal shame had now been lessened.
  22. "Wait, this is revenge for w-what? An energy drink poster? How exactly does this hurt Dogberry again?" (not complaining)
  23. Coatleque is definitely a print driver. She only works with one model on one specific OS. She resists any kind of change. Once installed, she's embedded for life. And RDS Redirected Printing will never support her host-based interface. I'm more like a graphics driver. I cruise along at a good clip, then crash on simple video playback during a cutscene.
  24. Character creation is a long process for me before actually using the concept - I created a Hyur because I wanted something human - I picked Highlander because she would be a fighter, and midlander bodies did not fit that concept. - I picked Gladiator because it was the only sword-wielding class - I later learned more about the paladin job and Sultansworn lore and loved the concept. I've played paladins and rangers in the past so I already had experience with the archetype. - I then realized her race didn't fit the lore so I had to create a backstory to explain how and why she was there. It had to be sufficiently good and bad to explain how she became who she is today. I didn't really get involved in heavy RP until all that was finished and the character was solid enough to stand on her own.
