Oh yeah... I should, um... do that.

I think I've seen Iron around. Wasn't he following Edda as a bodyguard? Or am I thinking of another large, hulking Roe? I'm sure we'll cross paths eventually.

balmung Business Associates & Customers
Coatleque replied to ZindelloTarantella's topic in Chronicled Connections
As long as he continues to cooperate with official investigations, his business dealings are not the Sultansworn's concern. Those Brass Blades are another thing, however. -
balmung Seeking slavery themed connections
Coatleque replied to DreamedReality's topic in Chronicled Connections
Coatleque cannot personally condone vigilantes due to her position within the city. But if you read her wiki back-story, she does have a personal vendetta against slavers. I'm sure if she somehow caught wind of your group she may offer some measure of help. -
Coatleque rose from her seat and looked towards the door for a moment. She never was entirely comfortable walking down Pearl Lane. The chances of meeting someone from her past were too high for her liking. In her mind, she still hadn't admitted that she even needed this sort of free time for her own well-being. So she reminded herself that she was doing this for Aya, her friend. She smiled and nodded, straightening her dress. "I would love some tea." Together they headed for the door.

(( Franz wins, with The Canterbury Tales! yay! )) "Master Bellveil? I've not seen him around in quite some time? I do hope nothing has happened to him..." She tilted her head as if considering her own line of thought on the matter. "Anyroad, you had wanted me to join you under the assumption we would be going somewhere other than the Quicksand today. I am ready to follow as soon as you wish to go."
-
"W-waiting? Me? Of course not!" In reality she had been there just over half a bell early. "Today has started out quiet enough, let us hope I am not summoned away." She closed the book and slid it into the purse on her lap. "Oh, this? T'is a strange book I purchased from a man named Tarot in Pearl Lane. A compilation of stories it seems, all told by a group of travelers on their way from Ul'dah to Ala'Mhigo. Whoever told the best was supposed to earn a reward, I believe, but I don't think the book was quite finished..." (( OOC Bonus, 10,000 gil to the first person who PM's me the name of the real book I'm referencing. ))

Coatleque was sitting at a side table just below the railing in the Quicksand. It was one of the few days she was able to actually shirk duty for some personal time. Well, not shirk... though that's what she felt like it was when she awoke. She did not know what bell it was last night when she finally dragged herself in from the balcony to bed. The door were still wide open, though the sun's angle would never shine through from this side of the building. She had roused herself without an alarm as she was used to these hours now, and made ready for the day. She had worn her dress, of course. It was only proper to look presentable when company was expected. For makeup she used barely a hint of blush and eye shadow. Long obsidian earrings matched the black bow around her neck. Her hair she braided loosely, and decided to leave her beret behind. The bar was mostly empty at this hour of the morning still. She was reading the book she recently purchased when Aya had called out to her. Looking up she smiled at the woman, then waved back. "Miss Aya! I am here, as promised!"

Long curtains were drawn back from the thin, wood-framed glass doors. Coatleque slowly opened them and stepped onto the small balcony. There was a breeze tonight which caught her gown, blowing it sideways. The glow of the streetlamps below reflected off glassy eyes. To anyone who may have seen her silhouette against the darkness, she may have seemed as some mournful spirit high above. It had been over a week since he had left for Coerthas. Days since she had heard any word. She had moved her room at the Inn to the northern side, and also paid a little more now for the privilege of the balcony overseeing the gate below. It was a small overlook, with barely enough depth for one person to stand, let alone the small chair she had placed there as well. Upon this she sat as she leaned and looked over the ledge towards the gate until her eyes became heavy. Still no news. No messenger. Nobody came. Her arms crossed each other leaning on the ledge as her forehead met them in prayer. She offered her supplications on his behalf once more, as she had done each night since his leaving. To Halone, to keep the chill of Coerthas away from his heart. To Rhalgr, that his enemy would meet its end swiftly at his hands. To Menphina, that he would not forget her words at their parting. To Llymlaen, that she would guide him back safely to her. To Althyk, that she would herself be able to bear the toll of days. And to Nymeia that their story would not end here and now in tragedy. Not till she had finished did she allow herself to drift once more to sleep. Still sitting, vigilant, waiting for her love's safe return.

*ahem* Let me introduce you to a little Miqo'te named Natalie. *ducks* *hides* In all seriousness though, character names are the easiest things to work around in RP. You can always think up some kind of a lore-friendly way to explain it. And as far as conflict goes? Every time Coatleque is forced to say "Ser Mcbeef" in public, her blood pressure goes up. It's fun.

Aaaaahhhhh. *pinches nose* Mmmmmmm. *sighs* *taps foot, leans against bookshelf* Fine, I'll do it. I don't care what side, wherever a tank is needed I guess. Let me know when and I'll try to read up on the fights before then.

If Crofte goes, all Crofte can do is tank... ... Unless someone wants to help me P-Level BRD between now and then. She's 30 ARC, 4 PGL right now. I'm also confused. Is this for ST or Frontlines?

I wish I could give some advice, but I'm in the same corner as you. I like playing as the side character that others want to invite in to fill a specific role. I have ideas of my own but have trouble executing them to my liking. So I just drift in between plotlines and fill in the gaps with Tavern RP and random Paladin stuff.

Hmm, not sure what to do then. Hopefully and admin/moderator will be along soon and can make the change for you.

The above is quote from your post. Remove the code tags from the very top and very bottom, then click "Preview Post" to ensure it displays correctly. Once done, re-submit it.

You need to remove the [ code ] [ /code ] tags. These tags tell the site that everything between should be segmented as a block of code to be displayed rather than parsed.

Design your character's skill!
Coatleque replied to WanderingWordsmith's topic in Character Workshop
Improved Sword Oath Cast: Instant Recast: 2.5s (global cooldown) MP: 266 Range: Self Any shield is instantly unequipped on use. No shield-based skills may be used. * Increases potency of all Paladin attacks by 150 Removes all additional enmity generation from Savage Blade and Rage of Halone. Can only be used with specific swords designated as double-wieldable. * Shield is not physically removed, but rendered invisible until Improved Sword Oath is disabled, or Shield Oath is used. This is to preserve gear ilevel and allow new combat animations. -
*steeples fingers* Gooood.... gooooood...

But... I'm at work... Oh, alright, fine... /handover Natalie muahahahahaha

After the Calamity while Coatleque spent three years as a brothel slave, there was a Seeker girl named Sapphire who took pity on her. She saw that Coatleque had some measure of strength and decided to mentor her, teaching her how to survive in that environment. Sapphire taught Coatleque how to speak properly as an upper-class citizen, to hide her accent, and how to read and write. She also taught her how to present herself, apply various makeups, to pick simple locks, and some minor slight-of-hand tricks. Coatleque received her somewhat exotic name from Sapphire to use as a cover to protect her real name, but the Keeper mostly just called her "Red" because of her hair. She did all of this because she had her own faith in Nymeia that she would not forever be held hostage in that environment. It was this faith that was transferred to Coatleque, and is what made her the woman she is today. Luckily this faith paid off as Sapphire was able to escape the brothel after eleven long years, a mere few weeks before it was raided by the Syndicate. She revealed her true name to Coatleque beforehand, a sign that she was finally able to return to her normal life. Coatleque has not seen her friend F'Lierre since that night, and wants to assume she was able to return to her tribe in peace.

Any computer could be used just for downloading. You wouldn't be actually playing the game on it, just installing it and opening the launcher. The idea is that once the game is fully patched, you copy the install directory onto a thumb drive and copy it back down to your original PC and overwrite it with the now fully-patched files.

Law Enforcement and the Impossibility of Playing It
Coatleque replied to Melodia's topic in RP Discussion
I've actually seen an overwhelming amount of support for law enforcement in Ul'dah. The community always amazes me with the shared reverence they have in-game for characters with assumed authority (Sultansworn in particular). Limsa Lominsa may be a different story simply because of the reputation of it being a Pirate's haven. When the general populace is already built around a city of thieves, it will be hard to establish an actual police force. I would encourage you not to give up, however. The longer you stick it out the more likely others will join in over time. -
I tried searching for the error myself and every available "fix" suggested has already been re-suggested here. It looks like the problem is on Square's side of things, and the next most common suggestion is to just keep trying every 30 mins or so.

The most interesting addition is how they have three emotes that will now adjust based on the height of your current target. This is something I have never seen in an MMO yet. Finally it's starting to feel more like an RPG again.
