  1. Abandons her family to go live with people who are taller than her and spend her days being mad about something she read on a flier.
  2. I did a little switcheroo, so my previous main, Hilven, now lives on Faerie. My Seeker, N'fenya, is still on Balmung. She's now my primary roleplay character.
  3. Is this Linkshell pretty active? It sounds awesome; I'd love to get involved with my Little Ala Mhigan seeker!

    Back Again

Thank you! I'm very excited. Also nervous. But mostly excited. And I'm glad to be back!

    Back Again

I was trying to figure out what happened around the same time as my last post on this forum, and why my commission progress ground to a halt. Then I looked at the date of my last post and realized that during that very same week, my boyfriend proposed to me (which was very much a surprise) and I forgot about just about everything else I was doing at the time, including FFXIV. Now I'm counting down the last couple of months leading up to my wedding and am blowing off wedding planning stress with some good ole' fashion MMO grinding and roleplay. I've since switched my main over to Faerie so I can raid with some real world friends, but I've left my legacy Miqot'e on Balmung. Now I'm just working on developing her backstory and leveling her up. Hope to see some of you in game! EDIT: Forgot to mention that I used to RP in SWTOR and GW2 prior to FFXIV. I played XI and loved it, and was fortunate enough to be in the Alpha and Beta tests of ARR.
  7. Sorry, my lovelies. I was traveling and then got curb stomped by a nasty cold as soon as I flew home. I'm back in action and will be picking up where I left off with the next commission.
  8. I love it whenever Alderique draws anything because it's always amazing.
  9. I'm away from my tablet for a couple of days, so it's pencil and paper again. Have a Hilven warmup doodle. http://i.imgur.com/1MssY9P.jpg[/img]
  10. I've used these! I really liked them - I don't know why I still use tweezers. Probably because I never think to go buy razors. I'm too set in my ways, even though my ways are bad.
  11. This is the kind of quality content I come to this site for. 12/10 would take all the art on a date.
  12. Just wrapped up my first piece for Flashhelix. DEM MUSCLES (which I apparently don't know how to draw without a reference.)
  13. Updated with a doodle for Arrelaine!
  14. Dibs! I'm at work so I only have paper and pencil again, but I wanna sketch one of these pretties. Roe babby. I tried to add some shading that would convey her skin tone, but that blew up in my face and I lost some of the details when doing damage control. D: http://i.imgur.com/uz59kHe.jpg[/img] Aaaaand Hilven refs.
  15. I got the fancy knife shirt and hot pants for Hilven. Aw yiss.
  16. I ended up moving and deleting my RP characters from Balmung, leaving just an old legacy character. The main reason was a lack of diversity. All FFXIV Worlds are skewed against certain races, but Balmung takes the NA average and completely inverts it. Based on December Lodestone data, 32% of all characters >Lv20 are either Miqo'te or Au Ra females. That's one in three... among almost 30000 characters. While I grant it's a fantasy game not fully tailored to Western sensibilities, and it's a flawed game that is nonetheless fun to play in many respects, the demographics of Balmung made no sense in the context of Eorzea's lore and were so boring to me that I tired of seeking out the kind of content I wanted. Judging by your avatar, this is not a problem for you, but it is a point some may want to consider. In any case, best of luck to you. I'm putting the blame on Square for the Miqo'te population. If you're going to declare in the lore that a particular race is uncommon/rare, don't make it a playable race. You can't expect players not to roll them, especially when that race was designed to have such a high appeal to the target audience. You also have to account for the non-RPers who make up a good chunk of that population and are going to roll a cat girl/boy regardless of what the lore says. So there will be lots of them running around. It's unavoidable, so I really don't take issue with it.
  17. Ok wow I was not expecting this response. I've got a vacation coming up next week, so I'm going to add two additional slots. And because I'm an idiot and ought to have thought about streamlining the process, please send a PM if you're interested in grabbing a slot. Posts are awesome, but I will probably miss someone. D:
  18. Alrighty. You will now pay me in haikus. Also, all spots are full up! Thanks!
  19. I haven't done this in a long, long time, but Burd needs to draw. Back when I played GW2, I occasionally took commissions from fellow RPers. I wasn't very disciplined - and honestly, I'm still not - but I like to think I've improved since then. Due in no small part to much more frequent practice. So I've decided to try this again: I'm opening up a few slots for commissions. First come, first serve. My style has jumped all over the place since I first started drawing, and frankly, I don't have a specific method that I use for every piece. Check under the spoiler tags below to get a sense for the styles I've tried and failed at. We'll talk $$$ in a bit.
  20. dead, your Hilven was fantastic. It captured her personality perfectly.
  21. B'aww :3 You are so welcome! It was a lot of fun! (And omg your fill was fabulous. I love everything about it.)
  22. Aaahhh, yeah that makes sense. I heard that if you can at least brace your elbow on something, like the sink or counter, it can really help steady your hand. Works for some people, I guess!
  23. Did you use a brush & well liner? Or felt tip? I gave up on liquid liner until I discovered the Sephora felt tip eyeliner. Now I wear it pretty much daily. Dem wingtips, man.
