  1. I've yet to clear T5. I know what to do, I've simply been unlucky with duty finder groups and finding a raid community to join is difficult because they usually shun EU players even when my game time is fairly flexible. I've yet to clear T2. It's less about what you have or have not cleared and more about if you're shitting on players because of content they have not cleared even if they're months behind, you might not be a person I want to play with even if we are the bestest of friends.
  2. I think the problem is that mechanics-wise we're locked into Earth/Water/Air for CNJ and Fire/Ice/Thunder for THM (Ice and Air can be cross-classed, I know), when most of us would rather draw from all the elements when we're casting. For example, if I were to steer Kell into mage area, his connection to the elements should allow him to cast all of these spells. However, the way the game's done, he can't both mechanically without doing a weapon swap mid-RP, which would look quite silly, and canonically be part of all the guilds necessary to pull that off. So yeah.
  3. All of you saying you can't see Lalas being with Roes/Highlanders have seriously grandiose ideas on their bait and tackle.
  4. So, uh, my ex is flabbergasted about how anyone could not have cleared T9 by now. And I'm just sitting here like "uh... I haven't?" Grumble grumble.
  5. Yeah, Miqo'te would probably be the one race I'd believe the interracial thing would not work well with partially since their societal structure leaves no real place for outsiders. I don't think, say, a Hyur could take a Nunh title for example.
  6. Loses all meaning to your brain-stuff you mean? Welcome to the RPC. From what I've seen if you don't have a clear concept of what you want to do, it might be hard finding RP at first but I personally went that route and I'm having a blast. So don't worry about it none. I hear /telling people "You up for RPz?" works well, too. Never forget to have fun. Or else they'll come for you.
  7. I'd think among the City-States it wouldn't be all that uncommon that such romances would be attempted. However, attempts don't mean successes and I'd wager it'd be more common among adventurers than anyone else. The two races I could see have a problem in general with interracial relationships are Elezen and Miqo'te. Funnily enough, they're the two races who's two "clans" had direct opposition in their history (WW/DW feud over the pact with the Elementals, Keeper/Seeker thing that might have happened but I don't know Miqo history). And even then, you have societal norms to consider as well - I'd say there's more of a chance between an Ishgardian Elezen and Hyur to shack up together (all vs. the dragons) than the same combination in, say, Gridania. Lalas would likely be the race that have the least problems.
  8. It's also kind of reversed stereotype because it's the highlander who's getting all weepy about the Tonberries. Also could be more of a sign of Japanese sensibilities here than anything but still.
  9. I think this is just to show the players that the Tonberries remain not anything to fuck with, and it's really just because the Tonberries themselves did not expect that particular Mamool Ja clan to be hostile. Aka they got punked yo.
  10. I personally don't just in case the other tank goes down to his own stupidity (which in Syrcusmania, occurred way too damn often) so I need to build up threat enough that I can take over. That being said I don't fight for threat either. I fight for the kill.
  11. Here's hoping because right now we could replace them with cardboard stand-ins and nobody would bat an eye, except maybe we'd notice the cutscenes got a whole lot less useless padding for some reason. Seriously can we have Yda just never speak again?
  12. Advanced search / show posts / search "Sounsyy" if we hadn't made /sounsyysignal a thing this would not have happened! YOU ARE SPOOKED OF YOUR OWN VOLITION. That being said, hello new person! Enthusiasm will carry you far here! You'll find most of the community is friendly and willing to help get you settled comfortably in your character.
  13. Cid is pretty much the only one, the rest serve absolutely no purpose whatsoever, their role having all been stolen by... I legit forgot his name. I remember Alisaie, who only does Coil stuff and I've never done much of Coil, but not the brother's name. All I know is that every time he shows up I'm in for a headache. Urianger needed Moenbryda to die for anyone to care about what this old fart's up to. Papalymo/Yda/Y'shtola/Thancred (and the whole ZOMG THANCRED IS POSSESSED was weak as balls btw) are useless post level 10 and even then the only reason they're there was because they put a sack of HP that needed depleting. They could legitimately not be there and just be relegated to questgivers and the storyline would not change. Also bringing up 1.0 stuff at this point serves no purpose - nobody else can see that stuff, it's gone forever except for those who actually played the game back then.
  14. The lore supports violent, sassy, lewd, boisterous, and outright bonkers Lalas. They're growing (ha!) into my favorite race even if I want to punt 99% of them. That being said, I really love my own female Lala. Goes around town implying that Franz the Fair stuffs his subligar.
  15. I don't see the point in sticking only to the lore presented either. First, there's always going to be bias towards a certain part of the lore. Either because the creators really love certain parts and care less about others, or because certain areas need lore due to a product they're about to sell (aka Ishgarde in Heavensward), etc. In short, if you're not part of that part of the lore, you're fucked if you want good, comprehensive lore sources. Second, because rare is the time I've seen where lore went in direct conflict with something a RPer wanted to do. What you really should be railing against is people ignoring the blatant obvious consequences of their actions due to the lore (e.g. Nunhs who get challenged not caring, Lalafells who act like children getting treated like such getting mad that you are treating them like that, etc.) Hell, one of the funniest things I'd seen was when a Keeper male was hitting on Kell, there was another Keeper male trying to shame him for wanting to shack up with a non-Keeper, and even worse, a non-Miqo'te of the same sex. That is a genuine consequence of getting caught acting like a neko yaoi boi - and it made for interesting RP, allowing me to actually use that incident to improve my own reactions to shit happening.
  16. Y'know those lulls in the game that you don't feel like doing anything. I got one of those last night. They're pretty boring.
  17. BRILLIANT. Unfortunately, most Nunh RPers are extremely unlikely to play along, so it'll never happen, but still! I LOVE THIS IDEA. I'm going to be giggling to myself for a bit now. Hopefully no one notices. Same principle as the dojo smasher trope, only applied to something drastically different. See people, clichés can be used for good.
  18. Those aren't really applicable since it's level 50 so not exactly levelling content. IIRC you get Berserk earlier.
  19. Berserk into Overpower will take care of most situations, Flash twice when debuff occurs, then Overpower more.
  20. I've personally had no problems keeping aggro unless I stop Flashing in between combos. But then again my threat gen is stupid high from the fact that I always have top-notch gear due to crafting on-par gear at every level so yeh.
  21. I didn't play her yet, but the Highlander I made on previous maintenance was adopted by a Midlander couple. She's also snowflakey as fuck (think tattoos and heterochromic eyes) so I don't know if I'll actually play her or fantasia her into a Midlander woman... or anything else and pay for the name change if SE's gonna get off its ass and let me. Typically though I try to go with the lore in terms of racial portrayals and against common stereotypes. My Midlander isn't a precious jewel wanting for sempai to notice him. He's flawed but tries to do his best. My Roegadyn is fairly sophisticated and not the giant ruskie stereotype. My Lala is lewd as FUCK and is likely to ask she can oil you up some 'cause she wants to see you glissen, babe. Though I have said I'd never roll a Miqo, I'm tempted to make an asexual Tia going around challenging Nunhs for their rights to reproduce and just straight up taking them away. I have no motivations other than being a dick for doing this, so I won't do it, but it'd be funny enough to see him try.
  22. What happened is I think when I saw the differences between the screenshots is that I thought Godbert's seat was empty. If he's just covered and I didn't see a hooded figure then sure, no problem. It happened and Godbert voted against for his own reasons that we'll likely never find out (though I hope we do). The problem I have with introducing Hildibrand to MSQ is just because his tone goes against the MSQ, and more importantly, I fear that the MSQ would ruin him, like it ruins everyone I love. Seriously name one character that remained themselves and weren't ruined into completely helpless idiots or turned out to be complete villains.
  23. Except that's not what I said. I said we do not know if he was there due to two versions of the cutscene, not that he's not on the Syndicate.
  24. I did that on a midlander, except maybe not the height slider. Results are hot. That being said, acknowledging that miqo'tes have tails and cat ears every so often feels like such a minor gripe that I'd honestly call it superficial. This isn't straight writing - we can see they have such attributes. Why can't we trust our eyes? In so far as the lore is concerned, as soon as they release actual lore about not!Eorzea I'll follow it and adapt if necessary. Kell is an outsider, I'm not going to apologize for having literally no lore to fall back on.
