So this is Gerik's idea, but I ran with it. I think this is fun. The rules are you have to draw your character in MS Paint with a mouse only. Then, post it here! Here's Alothia:

We've had a couple of people who play ex-Garleans, or had the intention of playing a Garlean spy. Just keep in mind that if you are outsted, and people find out, there will be little to no RP for your character simply because everyone else knows that they should stay away from a spy. It's fun to be the bad guy, but it can also be awfully isolating at times. Just be prepared if you want to walk that bad guy line.

Welcome! I just wanted to say, don't worry. This was my first FF game as well, and I can't be happier that it is. The community is great and most linkshells (Corvus Cinis being one of them~) are really welcoming and helpful to newbies. I've been playing since release of 1.0 and I absolutely love this game. This was also my first MMO and my first experience RPing, so we have quite a bit in common! If you guys who are new to the scene have any questions for someone who comes from the same place you are, feel free to shoot me a PM. I'm more than happy to share my experiences and point you guys in the right directions!

Let me also say welcome, and piggyback on Xene's post. There's a whole gamut of RPers. There are some that do exactly what you don't like, and there are others who just RP normal characters. There are good and bad in all games. I think, for the most part, the XIV community has a good smattering of both. Don't feel shy about asking us specific questions. And please, peruse the wikis. It might help you understand who it is you'll be RPing with! Anywho, welcome, and keep the questions coming!

Guys. Both sides are in the wrong here. Knock it off. The survey asked if we would use it, not if we thought it was a good idea. We voted. That's the end of it. I don't understand why there's so much hostility over this one issue. If I was someone who was coming to the RPC and saw this mess, I'd probably turn right back around. This is getting out of hand, and over what? (RHETORICAL QUESTION) Please, can we all just gather round the fire, sing kumbaya, and call it a day? There is no need for this. And people, a good word of advice is to THINK before you POST. Re-read what you've written before you hit submit and ask yourself if it's incendiary. If it is, edit it. Take the extra minute and don't write while you're miffed. /rant

Alothia would classify herself as heterosexual. She tends to admire the male form and generally have emotional connections with males. Now, I wouldn't put it past her to consider a female were a connection of that nature to be established, but it hasn't happened yet, and I think the chances of it happening are slim to none. So Alothia is heterosexual.
