OK, then what about these? - "Win A Date With Merlwyb Bloefhiswyn" is not acceptable idea for a Maelstrom recruitment drive. - "FLOORS NOT AS STICKY AS THE QUICKSAND" is not a good way to advertise The Drowning Wench. - Similarly, putting on a white whale costume and bringing a mammet band to perform is not welcome at the Bismarck. - For twelves' sake, there is no Upper Limsa Lominsa Commerce Revitalization Corps, and even if there was I am not the captain of it. - Seal Rock is not the location of a "sick ass night club", no matter how funny I find it to tell people I'm "clubbin'" there. - "Have you tried turning it off and on again" is not a helpful suggestion when attempting to fix a piece of magitek equipment. - "See? That always works" is not a helpful comment after turning it off and on again works. - Goobbue are dangerous animals and nobody is benefiting from outfitting each one with googly eyes to make them look cute.

- The chief exports of Limsa Lominsa are not "rum and sodomy" - When Leviathan attacks it is inappropriate to summon your turtle mount and sing the Gamera theme song. - Sahagin and Popoto Chips are not a La Noscean delicacy.

I've always wanted to play an old knight. Like, someone way past their prime, but they make up for it with wisdom and experience. I don't know why I've never made a character like that. I guess one day I will. It will be very amusing to play a character like that when everyone seems to play characters that are very young.

"Wow Dogberry Himalspyr, rescuing those Orphans from that burning building got you a free ride on Santa's Nice List for years to come!" If by "orphans" you mean "prison guards" and by "rescuing" you mean "killing" and by burning building you mean "the jail you were placed in just before your execution for high treason" then uh, yeah. Nice list. Santa really hates the Maelstrom, apparently. "Iskierka Stormspeaker do you kiss your Mom with that mouth?! Santa puts kids on the Naughty List for cursing, and frankly you've got a mouth like a Sailor! Naughty List for you." C'MON SANTA SHE'S AN ARCANIST SHE'S SUPPOSED TO CURSE! IT'S HER JOB!

The Sexy Miqo and Futa Roe community are darlings compared to the Elin I used to encounter in TERA. I've yet to encounter anything like that in B&S, so fingers crossed, but I'm not exactly holding my breath.

I dunno I managed to make a really good looking old master style Lyn. You can do a lot with the character creator. Your Lyn looks very good, but it stands alone as a bastion of good taste against throngs of lolicatgirls.

That's why I wear this mask. But really... *Pop music is now more sinister, and the lyrics are in some creepy dead language.* Doesn't everyone wear some kind of mask?"

The Lyn/Elin creep me out, too. It really isn't the race by themselves, it was the players who gravitated toward them. The fact that I have to be one to play a Summoner pisses me off, too. It's such a terrible design decision.

This game looks really good! I'll try to get into the beta to check it out. Damn, I am really going to have to upgrade my PC. The graphics look so good!

Which are what, specifically? TERA billed itself as "God of War-esque combat in an MMO" and fell really short of that mark. I grew bored of the combat when it seemed more like WoW combat without auto-attack. Blade and Soul manages to come across much more like an action game, with air juggling and knockdowns, counters, and such. I was worried for a bit in Beta that the combat in B&S was taking a turn toward the TERA style, until something happened that blew my mind. Random trash mobs were using my own tactics against me. I had to start thinking about my battles instead of going through my standard combos and dodging when necessary. I had to put up a legitimate defense and come into a fight with a real game plan. Now, of course, these were just trash mobs, and beaten easily, but it's not a game you can mindlessly click through. Bosses were a real challenge, and I got my bell rung a lot when they pulled a combo on me that I wasn't expecting.

Gameplay that delivers on all the promises TERA made but couldn't live up to. I just checked out Age of Wulin, and it looks like it would have been really awesome fifteen years ago.

Yeah, the lore does seem really shallow. I was expecting the Cerulean Order vs. Crimson Legion conflict to play a much larger part in the lore, the main story seems to focus on the Hongmoon or whatever. I guess I never really got out of the "tutorial" part of the game, though. I didn't have much time to play this weekend. Dammit, I want a game that will indulge my childhood kung fu fantasies.

Wrestling RPG? That's... something I never considered. Huh. Let us know how it goes! I have friends who thought I was crazy when they heard I like wrestling ("u no wrestling is fake rite, lel") but when I explained to them that wrestling is a style of performance art that mimics an athletic competition and has elements of lost theatrical styles that are otherwise entierly niche in modern times, they tend to come around to my thinking. I wonder if they'd indulge me by trying out a wrestling RPG. Tomorrow night! Ring of Honor Final Battle tomorrow night! I hope Dalton Castle gets his boys back.

This is where I'm at more or less. I think the more compelling RP would come from a PVP war of role players. The world itself seems paper thin, so a lot of the PVE RP a lot of people do (myself included) will feel pretty hollow. But an IC war between characters? That would be a refreshing diversion.

I mean, you can say that about games like TERA and Blade and Soul, but everyone in FFXIV seems to have a story about Quicksand Futas. That's the kind of RP that's most common anywhere. But, part of my intent on posting here is to see if I could find people from this community, which I know is a decent one, who are planning on playing to make the transition a little easier. At least give us some contacts. And hey, if the game ends up being full of Kung Futas, it is what it is.

Gameplay wise I'm mostly interested in PVP. I've been watching 1v1 bouts on Twitch. I plan to bring bring my Wimp Lo Face-to-Foot style! Haha! I am bleeding, making me the victor!

The combat looks amazing. I can't say much for the RP, but I'm hoping to find a core of people I jive with. I am planning on going Crimson Legion, and have a concept for a clan for bandits and anarchistic political rabble rousers called Hēiqí Jūn, or Black Flag Army, modeled after the bandits that raided the French in Vietnam in the late 19th century.

He looks good when he's smashing people with chairs. I think the superman punch and spear are weak looking moves, and if he replaced them with actual wrestling moves I would be much more impressed. I want to like him. I really do. He just needs to be allowed to do his own thing and I think he'd be a really great star. I cut my teeth on the Attitude Era, and I get the feeling guys like The Rock and Stone Cold were given a lot more chances to break out and be their own people than the roster does now. The women's division is putting on some killer matches. Sasha and Becky put on a good match on the pre-show, and that super long commercial, on a service that I pay for, DURING THE CONTENT THAT IS THE REASON I SUBSCRIBE just pissed me off. But man, when they are allowed to to their thing for longer than five minutes, they put on awesome matches. The WWE has so much great talent right now. Management is terrible.
