Anyone else getting into the newly released MGS V game ? No spoilers but I think I might be missing from FFXIV for a while I am curious if anyone else is enjoying this as well ! The only thing I try to tell those who ask me is that this explanation in the backstory is something you as a player may craft. Do not feel accountable to those who would thump you on the head because it is atypical ! Yes, is true my character is an Elezen and all around lore-bore, within-the-boundaries type. But I try so hard to make this exact point to ppl. Who cares what I think ?! I RP and co-lead FC with a person who RP's a Miqo'te Dragoon and they are amazing. I have RPed with another Miqo Dragoon recently by coincidence who was great too ! Live and let live ! \o /

If I'm not mistaken Dragoon is just a title for killing a 'true' dragon. To me, being make a Knight for Ishgard is a far bigger deal for a non-Elezen than simply scoring a kill. Should a knight kill a 'true' dragon, they would then be a Dragoon by title, but how one learns to fight all jump/stab style is still up in the air. As far as I have come to understand, being a knight has MUCH more to do with pedigree and bloodlines than dragoon. As a knight, I think the religious dogma angle is much more prevalent too. Exceptions are everywhere, but I know it would be difficult to have my character become a knight as a dirty brume girl than to become a fully sanctioned dragoon under tutelage of another or several of the order. MSQ talks about how Aymeric had difficult time being a knight as a 'low-born' man in 2.5/2.55. To my recollection which is dodgy, I dont recall ever hearing things spoken about dragoons having higher-caste or social barriers to entry like knights. I would imagine many dragoons probably rise from army regulars as shining stars when they kill dragon or something. Idk, just what I think !

Personally, I wouldn't do it, especially since: but it's entirely possible to just be a Lancer, or maybe pay someone from Ishgard for training in everything except what's in the spoiler box. The game then becomes "why would they train YOU," however, so it's still risky business. Speaking to your Spoiler: Miqo'te, pls. Kidding ! I agree; just because I haven't seen a certain race or nationality be dragoon in the MSQ does not mean to me that it cannot be so unless explicitly explained otherwise . . Or at least that is how I see it. I feel like there are one million different reasons, methods, ways that this knowledge could have been imparted to non-locals or those of exotic race. Ameline is/was a mounted war herald ! I have chosen to depict this by using glamours for Bard and Dragoon, though IC she is neither. She can use a lance, but she is certainly no expert with it - especially when on foot. On the same note, while she can use a bow and sing/play music - it was designed to be much more utilitarian like signaling advances, retreats, keeping morale up, etc: not for entertainment of other people. Sooo . . . DoW !

Ameline has a strong fear and distrust for healers and healing magick. She will not let them tend to her wounds under any circumstance. Even those few healers she has come to trust or befriend she would not allow to treat her for even the most minor injury.

Mirthful and boisterous conversation resounded throughout the stone walls of an icy barracks in the Coerthas highlands. As the assembly of intermingled hyur and elezen soldiers traded a slip of print from one set of hands to the next, the hearty cheers seemed to amplify. Ameline sat up from her cot, rubbing at her back as the noise woke her from a restless sleep. As she wiped at her eyes, a young hyur soldier beckoned her over: "Valtin, come! Have you seen this?" He extended the advert to Ameline to examine. Without taking it, Ameline looked on the photograph and allowed a most subtle and cagey grin to pull at her mouth as she nodded, "Ah. . Lady V'aleera!" The soldier looked quizzically upon Ameline and retracted the advert. "Wait. . /conscript/ Valtin knows V'aleera Lhuil?!" Ameline shrugged lightly looking away as the grin spread into a chortling smile. "Of course, compatriot. Everyone knows of V'aleera Lhuil." With that, she simply continued to stifle her laughter and sat back in her cot.

There are several men in FFXIV who are attractive: Nero Tol Scaeva - maybe there is something wrong with me but this villain was fantastic :blush: Estinien really did things for me both before and after 3.0 Ya ya how can I not say Aymeric, but. . . I would have to agree. Yda just always seemed to make me smile when she popped up in the story. Also, I went back and watched some cutscenes from 1.0 and she and Papalymo were like super heroes ! It was a lot of fun to watch.

** now that i have finished my shit posting about what bothers me in RP, I will say a few general ones: I would like to get into some of the bigger plots but I fear that I am operating on a level below the people who organize the big stories and get scared off. I really want to post IC character stories on forums, but I'm afraid no one would read it so I don't. This is a stupid thing, I know !
