  1. Got a Keeper Kit named Mitzi Moui who loves getting into mischief and spins tall tales who would make a funny assistant to your reporter. Raised by a mob woman then taken away by Ishguardian DHS (lol not really, more like kit-napped and got away with it because spoiled rotten) elf who is pretending to be an inquisitor. "Mister In Quiz Sitter. She liked to collect 12 lizards because something about slaying dragons and preying to the 12 would make her fat chocobo doll turn into a real boy. (see how the stories get warped?) Anyway, adorable gullible child who dreams of being a super hero is ready when you are. If you attempt any hair brushing or grooming you will have to roll to not be clawed, bitten, or suffer the wrath of a tornado with a tantrum. Other character would be Aoi Usui, the future pharmaceutical overlord-ehem I mean brilliant doctor.. who has yet to finish alchemy training. She is working for some interesting people, are they good people? Who knows. She follows where the money is. Screechy voice, loud talker, flirty, smack talking au ra who perches on people and smacks them with her tail when she isn't getting her way. Need a doc? call Dr. Aoi. Main character would be Eyrigeim Thorskyltwyn, she's the poetic viking sea wolf with a love for good stories by the fire, a good brawl on the docks, and a huge roe breakfast. Step-dancing will ensue. She got issues with maelstrom,. military.. authority figures.. magicians of any kind. (summoners making tiny egi's of primals appear around her, parlor tricks of handkerchiefs coming out of a sleeve also gives the heebie jeebies to this superstitious sailor.) Full of stories of her people and songs of the northern seas. Trying to get her ship back from the dry-docks, looking for a crew but more importantly, trying to find her way after being landlocked for so long. https://wiki.ffxiv-roleplayers.com/pages/Eyrigeim_Thorskyltwyn Mostly I enjoy one-shot and slice of life however Eyri has been in combat a number of times due to people needing to challenge every sea wolf they see (only lost once to a maelstrom officer however she is not a combat character, she's just freaking big and rngesus likes her) good connections will be kept up with and whatever develops the story the best will be the direction we go in so pretty chill about rp, no pressure. None of the character personalities are the same and will not reflect the writer's opinions. Most times its whatever leads to the funniest outcome. :3
  2. As a tank, I prefer DPS to do the DPSing, I prefer my healers to heal. I watch the MP bar of the healer as well as my TP bar. If you WANT to stance dance, do it, I will adjust my style to match. I will not demand it of you because if you don't comfortable do that we will wipe. I watch the aggro list and when in higher level areas with a geared party I expect the DPS to be able to know what aggro is and to attack accordingly. (If you are a ninja and bumped your head and think you are a tank and run three rooms ahead while the healer has no MP and the tank has no TP you were not DPSing enough and you deserve to die by those mobs you just pulled, we will wait for you to respawn.) On my first pull I gauge how fast the mob was killed to base whether I pull larger or pace each mob. If you don't want to wait three seconds to go from one mob to the other, don't suck on the first pull because if someone waited 45 minutes to get in that dungeon and doesn't know their rotation or buffs I am not going to force them through larger mobs and wait for the pissing and moaning between players to start. I do notice healers don't quite understand why I will put up a ready check. If a healer died or others died and rejoin the party I will ready check before that boss fight so the healer knows I am giving them time to recast their defensive spells, I am shocked by how many will not cast protect on themselves because they think I will run ahead without them. This was appreciated by some but others would get upset thinking it was sarcasm. In all. I don't like to modify the roles we are playing because I won't blame people for failing at doing something they are not comfortable with, because I don't like being made into a role I am not practiced in. Such as being made a solo tank on Leviathan EX on my first time playing. Well why can't I tank the head and tail and the cluster of water bombs along with the adds? Hmm.. Maybe because this is my first freaking time doing this and I am the only tank in the party?? >< I've had enough instances with dps calling out healers for not DPSing in boss battles and either the healer taking blame and being confused or the healer knowing their shit and calling out the DPS for not deep-ing enough. It's this kind of stuff that makes me hover over the duty finder dreading to start that new funky fresh instance with a bunch of randoms. Let the tank tank, let the healer heal, and dps, do the dps. If you don't like that you aren't getting your way gtfo, because I can cue in seconds and the poor other people who waited almost a half hour don't deserve to suffer because someone isn't being a freaking adult. Some of us are working professionals who don't have the same free time as others and that time-slot for gaming is limited. Playing nice in a video game with other adults who are paying to play in their free time should not be rocket science. But those are my preferences and my opinions and nothing more.
  3. My best rp groups come from random encounters. If you ever want a group of random rpers that are into fun casual rp send me a tell and I'll pop you on the linkshell. All started with a meanie elezen picking on my child character (Mitzi Moui) and an Au Ra woman insulting him with the verbal slam of the century. One free dinner from said elezen later resulted in a custody squabble between the two of them and random people who happened to walk into the bar in Drybone. That has resulted in a modest group of 7 or so people who interact with the open world regularly airing out their comedy for anyone to join in. We're currently haunting Limsa Lominsa at the moment. Thinking of joining a FC but my worry is if I did join one, I'd be disappointed again, but also our rp would be bottled up in the houses, keeping us away from new people and new ideas.
  4. Mitzi Moui, did someone order an adorable mascot character? As for myself I've always been INTJ and sometimes INTP depending on the questions. Complete difference in my characters is that they don't reflect me or my personal ideals, they reflect archetypes meant to make stories more lifelike. I'd never have the energy, interest, or understanding of emotional/social situations to be them. :geek:
  5. Mitzi Moui is a Twelveswood born tribal Miqote child. 13th Namesday will be coming up on the 27th. She was the adopted daughter of a notorious yakuza-like leader. Mitzi is gullible, influenced easily and obsessed with bad guys being beat up by tough guys. Her best friend is a stuffed fat chocobo plush named Mr. Boco. He's had several operations and may need another facelift and tummy-stuff soon. She ran away from home due to in-house power struggles and violence of the adult members frightening her off. She wants to grow up to be a great matron who can solve all of the problems of her people but has no idea how to be a leader. She's very childish and innocent. Being unskilled in hunting and combat she relies on her ability to bring unlikely adventurers together for a common cause. Interests are fishing and culinary, she's a novice in both hobbies. Slight racism towards Seekers but unaware of what she is repeating. Naturally wary of Wood Wailers. Always up for rp, been looking for age appropriate friends. Feel free to PM, Mail or /Tell.
  6. Had a handful of health conditions that complicated overall health. Recovering and adjusting to life after surgery. Got sick again but I'm feeling better now for the most part. Should be stronger so long as I not miss treatments. And Thank you, always good to have well wishes.
  7. These are a little old and when I was sickly. I will take a new one after I recover from surgery and you can see a brand new healthier Mitzi 2.0!
  8. (Disclaimer, my typing may be off, not feeling well. If it's super incoherent I'll edit it later) Just have to say that is a beautiful example of how an overpowered character can really be worked well into the world of Final Fantasy. I had a character years ago not from the world of Final Fantasy who was what you would consider higher in the power department. He was created to help a friend who had an undead underground storyline. Most people were playing Blade-like vampires that ate npcs and had all of the god perks of said vamprism, even removing the negatives of the disease by use of magic, enchanted jewelry, or half breed or what-have-you. I really don't care for vampires, but he was a friend so I designed a Human.. since, there were NONE being roleplayed. I got inspiration from Father Anderson from Hellsing, mixed with the insane reverend from Half-Life's Ravenholm. He was a military strategist suffering from PTSD. He used IEDs, bowguns, whatever his money could afford him from check to check in order to keep the undead back. Alcohol abuse doesn't make the best marksman. I balanced his ability to get things done when a mini nuke was requested by the story writer, when the other characters got the hint they can't rampage and eat every human in the city without consequence it created a balance. My friend was the official OP and would not be able to be beaten by mine, but this was a mutual understanding and gave all parties reason to work together instead of soloing npcs all day. Eventually it let roleplayers who were too afraid to join in actually pick living characters, which picked the story up from being a dying forum to one that had to be split up for being so huge. It's that sort of teamwork that moves stories along. My favorite character was a guy who was a mummy with a chain smoking habit that would light himself on fire at inopportune times. His character was so hilarious it cut back a lot of the serious player's tensions. I try to strive to be more like him.
  9. I'd probably find it difficult to accommodate. Recovering from surgery aside, had I the ability and means to take in a cat/human/child I'd not know what to feed it, what language it speaks, or how to fulfill it's emotional needs. A keeper would be nocturnal, so if I were kept from resting I would have less patience for her. I'd also not feel comfortable touching or being touched so I can't say I'd even want to pet her. Eh... I'd like to be able to but it would a poor mix. OOC personality is very different from IC personality. If I had to meet any race I'd probably find an old sea wolf more interesting. We can crack open the 18 year Macallan, show them around the docks, military shipyard, and railroad. Tour the local breweries, and exchange stories of our ancestors while watching vikings on the History Channel before they leave.
  10. My question is simply what people like to play and why. Nothing more. I'm not interested in either example enough to invest more time than it's worth. I don't believe one is more important than the other, stated from the beginning both are integral to plot. If that managed to offend anyone I think they are reading into it with their own flavor. No need for insults over a simple topic. My only interest is what people like to roleplay and why. As someone who has rped multiple roles from both ends of the spectrum to balance out/ move story along I'm aware of how that works. My preference is playing the underpowered trope character whose entire role is to bring people together and make the people who are stronger more noticeable. I enjoy the simple connections, the long journey, not entirely what is at the end of the road. That is just my interest. Not everyone is going to have the same interest. There is no right answer. It's all preference.
  11. That was my aim. Extreme examples of roleplay tropes facing a locked door. I've been in enough forum rp to know each type is very integral for development. A room of potatoes equally powerful without a threat is boring. A room full of zeros without a bump in the road is equally dull. Both need each other.
  12. I see a lot of different types of roleplay. I was wondering which type appeals more to you. Do you like playing powerful characters? How do you keep it interesting? Or do you enjoy regular joes, how do you make mundane life interesting in roleplay? Both types are needed in stories It's what keeps things moving. More interested in which is more fun to play and why. There is a door in front of you, it is locked. Adventurer 1 is a powerful Captain of Everything, born half demon/ half angel/ half primal/ half key so they pushed the door open with ease. They see Ifrit, who says "Dear gods not again." Afterward they go to the quicksand and cant find a seat so they drink in a dark dank corner and brood while the other half voidsent/ half potatoes ask "Did you kill primals today?". Adventurer 2 is a young refugee with no particular skills in trade. He is attempting to break in to the room of a famous thief and prove himself to be worthy of his attention. He has no skill in lock picking and just realized the key was lost in the long travel through a freak flash storm. It was with luck a courier from Gridania had crossed their path, seeing as the boy struggled with the lock. "Just what are you trying to get from that shack boy?" The courier would only see the eyes of desperation. She took pity on the trembling figure who reminded her of her son at home. With a novice's understanding of carpentry she took an awl and mallet to the hinges of the door. A crack of wood, creak of rusted metal, the door found it's way to the floor. Beyond the cloud of dust was a small table with single wooden box. Inside, was the spare key and a parchment with a laughing face inscribed in charcoal. The spectacle caused the courier to laugh at the boy's misfortune. The thief was a clever one who would not be found so easily. She took him back to Gridania to fill his belly by the fire, in the company of a few friends who might have some meaningful work with plenty of room to teach in exchange for the boy's humorous tale of misadventure. In my opinion: Viva Adventurer 2, the bringer of laughs and endless entertainment.
  13. Oooh we should bump into each other, I play a no-powered kiddie as well. Lot's of good people to rp with. I find the ones who aren't super duper dragoon troopers eating primals for breakfast make the most interesting stories. Limitations and overcoming obstacles through cunning and wit make for the most meaningful stories.
  14. Erik is Bjorn Ironside, Dutch king and doer of badassery, nice. As I miqo I'm going to have a hard time finding anything remotely real so any ginger cat face down in a bowl of food would suffice. Yaaasss! It's Mitzi

  16. yuuuuuup that's what happens ugh then you just DON'T HEAR any and all alarms. i'll set three and nothing. I think I'd leap out of my skin if I missed work due to not hearing the alarms. I have multiple alarms as well, like when to wake up, when to really wake up this time, and when my feet should be heading out the door.
  17. that right there is another problem i have i get absorbed in something and then it's like 4am and i have to be up at 6:30 o____O;;; Yes! I'm on medical leave but when I work I'm up at 6 and will find myself saying "Hm.. I'll turn everything off at 11:30 and sleep like a good--OMG it's 5:30! HOW?!"
  18. :geek:Normally pretty tired as I recover from surgery. The medicine I take is not quite enough to keep me awake in the day, yet tonight I'm running on a low energy automatic. Perhaps I'm oversleeping in the day and messing up my internal clock again. I struggled with insomnia in my highschool and college years, it's so easy to slip out of routine and find too many partially interesting things to read instead of sleeping.
  19. Gluttony, she doesn't see it as a problem. Justifying overeating for a semi-hyper Keeper of the Moon child is as easy as a lalafel climbing a two foot ladder.
  20. I'm up for rp, My character is Mitzi Moui. Though she travels as needed, her home is and will always be the Twelveswood.
  21. Personal Profile Character Name: Mitzi Moui Gender: Female Race: Miqo'te (Keeper of The Moon) Domestic Profile Civil Status: Twelveswood native Place of Residence: Lavender Beds Occupation: Adopted Kit, being adorable Free Company: Morbolvine Clan Social Profile Runt of the litter, could not compete with her many sisters due to lack of noteworthy talent. Ran from home to make a new path as an adventurer. Realized she is not very good as an adventurer or providing for herself. Recently adopted by another Keeper Clan. She enjoys fishing and has a passion for appreciating culinary arts. Her stomach consists of a pocket dimension containing the Midgard Serpent, thunderous battles with the mighty Thor can be heard around lunch time... Or so the rumors say. Meta Profile Cheerful, playful, feral instincts when it comes to stalking inanimate objects such as menacing burlap sacks and unattended books. Easily distract-able, shy to new faces but easily swayed by offerings of food, toys, and shiny objects. Obsession with chocobos, crabs, fish, and the story of the legendary Crushatrice whom she imitates by stomping around and squawking. Thinks adults become adults when they forget how to play.
  22. I feeel like chicken tonight! Had fun running around Drybone with you guys.
