  1. Welcome! You'll enjoy your time on Balmung, I know I have. I was new to MMO RPing but not totally fresh. I literally sat in the Quicksand to get my bearings by reading open RPs going on. If you see Lyrik around, feel free to grab her for RP. She's very friendly!
  2. Please add Lyrik Muse next time you have a chance. This sounds great!
  3. More Miqo'te friends! My half Miqo'te/half Hyur raised more do like the latter would live to meet anybody your Miqo'te. She can wear on more mature character's nerves with her youthful, over-friendly nature. Thankfully for us all she's currently in the company of a very tribal seeker nuhn and an proper elezen lady and starting to learn what is appropriate and expected of her.
  4. Lyrik is a young one who has a Keeper mother and a Midlander father. Living out adventures beyond her skill as a budding conjurer, she's managed not to be mugged, killed or worse due to her friendly nature and petite stature that seems to incline the more experienced to look after her. Protective father that sheltered her from the mean nature of full blooded children and the scorn of adults had produced a happy girl with ambitions and dreams without any real concept of the real world and it's dark corners. Raised on a farm, Lyrik's knowledge mostly lies in herbs and wildlife. Currently excited to have learned beginning healing, she's earnest in her will to help. She was not taught discrimination to any races or creeds (she was also not taught much about her Miqo'te roots). I purposely made this character young and impressionable as I am learning along with her about lore and different destinations. I'm letting her develop and grow completely through RP interaction, though I suppose most people do that. I can see her greeting and engaging with either of your new Miqo'te if you are at all inspired. ^^
  5. It was me~ I believe Lyrik had crossed paths with Steel Wolf once in the Quicksand with L'oki. We would love to see her again. ^^ I've forum RPed the same universe and characters so long I feel stuck in megapara mode. Writing on and on! I'm learning to condense and simplify, not everyone wants to read my wall of text. In game I can only /emote so much, it reminds me haha. I'll add Cliaux as well! As for haughty Reilan the Ishgardian, Lyrik can handle him more likely than not. She's fairly useless in battle but makes up for this in congeniality. Or so she hopes.
  6. I try to focus on the body language I feel would happen naturally with Lyrik since she wasn't raised around other Miqo'te. Certain learned signals like hissing or purring are not something she would have learned. More so, small motor movements like ear rotation, tail twitching or fur standing up that are reflexes are included in her emotes. I chose to play a Miqo'te because I work with animals and have a very clear understanding of cat body language. It's fun for me to bring that knowledge to a character that is not very in touch with her "feline" side.
  7. Aww, you are so sweet and I completely understand. My main is on a different server and I wasn't in love with the game per say. Once I finally got Lyrik onto Balmung, I'm starting to form an addiction. Welcome! Feel free to walk right up to Lyrik, she's very friendly. Add her if you like as well. Happy RPing and I'm so glad you got on the server at last! It's an accomplishment in itself.
  8. I have a new main! Feel free to walk up to or tell Bahati just the same. ♥
  9. I can't imagine Balmung would be as enjoyable and interesting if every Miqo'te had a tribal upbringing and lifestyle. My main is intended to be bred from a Seeker and a Midlander. Even then, I would not call Lyrik a "cosplaying hyur". Her ears and tail are brought into her expressions when needed. I enjoy the challenge of Lyrik being reared in an urban setting by a Hyur... and yet she is still part Miqo'te and struggles to understand what that means. Why some instincts, mannerisms and aspects of her are simply different. Aside from physically (which is the least of racial differences IMHO), different hearing. Different instincts on occasion. I am fortunate she's ended up under the wing of a very tribal Miqo'te and is currently learning to hunt out in the desert. Will Lyrik become more traditional? Will she stay very "hyur-like"? Either way she is still Miqo'te. Or at least partially. I'm looking forward to her progression. I expect an RP server to have variety and original ideas. Lastly on the subject of moral conflict regarding traditional breeding and the frequent "Nuhn" issues... well, it is what it is. Lyrik knows several Nuhn and most of them are serious males with their concern lying in providing for the females and leadership. Luckily for overly affectionate Lyrik, they seem to naturally tolerate the will of the females they consider to be under their care. I look forward to seeing a Nuhn strutting about like he's god's gift to all cats. There are males of all races attempting to lay with multiple women. All sorts of women who have the same ambitions. No Miqo'te is bound to "service" any Nuhn simply because of her race. I have no issues with anyone's sexual decisions. I rather enjoy the interesting female empowerment in these cat like individuals. Perhaps it's my animal inclined education talking but I really find it interecting even if I don't partake.
  10. Ah, this adorable boy! I can imagine all the questionable attention already. Lyrik is new and a youngin' but she's outgoing and not interested in any kinky activities. I've friended you, feel free to say hello anytime for some friendly RP.
