Hyur Midlander just looking for rp and making some connections. I've been in and out of the game as of late. I just made it to heavensward last night (by the time I send this) but I still got ways to catch up with everyone else. But wouldn't mind making some connections along the journey to stormblood content. This is actually a monthly event, however, due to popularity it's becoming almost bi-weekly so this might in fact becoming a more reoccurring thing than planned...but we aren't complaining either lol. As long as people enjoy them, we'll keep hosting. Oooh... And granted, I jumped in on this boat not knowing it was a monthly thing. Hmm... Maybe I'll get another chance at redemption again... But more for the company, then having a significant other comes later.

Aww crud... I was out and hoped I'd be back early enough to make it to the event but the outing took longer than expected. I was hoping to come early since I didn't get much interaction when I came late compared to my first when I came early. Ah well xwx;;;;

At this rate, I'm starting to think this should be a reoccurring thing. Not that I'm complaining about it. I'll definitely see if I can go again.

The Making Connections forums might interest you to get you started into the RP scene~ To be honest, my favorite has to be the Quicksand because while I don't mind actually being part of the play, I don't mind just being part of the crowd either, watching and listening in on conversations too. Especially if the character explicitly does just that. Sometimes it grabs attention or two or just ooc chatter otherwise~ Although I prefer playing and posting at ease without risk of my post getting swallowed up, I like the popular ambiance the inn has and the crowd chattering adds to that. I could just hang there with the music off and listen to the ambiance... sometimes isolating pockets of chatter when you focus your ears on them. That one sigh or grunt or that single cheer that stands out when you do... But like I said, I like to rp comfortably l3 so even anywhere in the city-states will do like Gridania. It's a bit calmer there than Ul'dath imo. May the path you choose be filled with the light of the crystal!

I arrived at the Wayfarer's rest thinking today was the event... Nope. My genius self was a day too early for the event. Instead, I ended up interacting with the nice people who resided at the Rest. Apparently, they're known not only for the event they're having but also as a place for people to take a respite at or to stay over for the night or have a drink or two. I took up their offer for the respite since I was rushing thinking I was running late and had to find something to dye my clothes with (Not really a fan of red but it's the way to indicate whom I'm seeking).... So I was a little flustered and winded basically. Can't say it was all bad at least. I built up familiarity with both the place and the wayfarer members. I didn't get to talk much with the Miqo'te there since he had to take care of some business... The other two were sisters.... Mm, half sisters really. One was a pirate and the other was...raised by Slyphs I believe.... I still can't believe I manage to keep calm without fighting with myself not to stare at their chest due to the clothes they were wearing. Their clothes wasn't the problem, it's not that they were skimpy but... it has a particular jacket and top combination that exposes off the cleavage.... That's all I'll write about that... Least now I just gotta make sure to make it to the event on time...

Maybe see if going on Roleplay Events will help you in easy so that you don't have to feel like fishing desperately for rp without going too far out your comfort zone... Hello and welcome! Yeah Balmung's a pretty popular place for rp so kudos for getting in! By the way, if you're interested, you can check out the Free Company forum if you're interested. You don't have to do it now if you rather take a break from FC first. It's simply there at your discretion! Teaching you in the ways of tanking....... Hmmm... Aside from the Novice Network ingame, you can try checking out here too for game related stuff. I'm sure there should be a page or two in the art of tanking. Heads up, the game also features a unique duty cater towards your role (Tank, dps, healing) so you can check that out for some more basics too. And for lore stuff, maybe see if the Lore Discussion forums will help put you in the right direction, as well as the RP Discussion forums too. Oh, and if interested, definitely check out the Community Board to help with the lore immersion~ Another thing to add with the /em commands is using them in tangent with macros. That means that, for further immersion, you can create your personal emotes and combine them with expressions so that your character can "/em Ohlong Johnson nods with a stoic face" (by using the /yes emote with the straight face expression). One of the commands you can also use is a timer... I think it's /t #ofseconds well find it to confirm that of course but basically you can use the timer to chain different actions occurring at different timings for more complex expressions! .....Buuuuuut just take it a step at a time. That's if you wanna be fancy but you can rp with just /em and no emotes at all! Just go however you wanna go at it ^^ May the path you choose be filled with the light of the crystal!

Hello and welcome! As a follow up from everyone's suggestions, check out the Community board for things like about RP, the Lore, character development, connection requests. Along with the tumblr link Ruran provided, you can also use the Resources board for LS, FC, and Roleplay events too. Hello and welcome! I dare say you'll have rp opportunities aplenty here, in forums and ingame. Just watch out for how you get in Balmung if you're not in it yet. It's infamous for being locked but carries more of an rp presense (though don't let that stop you to try in other worlds of course!) Ahh, Chocobo the chicken~ Bu-kwek~ As for those other stuff... umm...pardon if I end up repeating anything... ahem A character transfer basically has you pay a bit... There's more about that in the lodestone but do note you have to have the character you logged as to have accumulated a certain amount of hours before it's considered transferable.... Which is probably why it would be a good idea to just choose another open server to wet your feet on the game itself. Aside from the suggestions here, you can check out the Linkshell page in Other, as well as Resources too. The only subscription to worry about is just to be able to play the game. But you certainly won't need a licence to kill rp of course. Here in this link, if you scroll down and find Service Fee, you'll see the options of how much you pay, how many days you get to play, and how to pay for them. Just in case you needed to be aware of that. If you knew that then never mind this part~ Well as answered before, leveling up just means you get to wear more clothes and access new areas. For example, if you have heavensward expansion, you'll need to progress through MSQ (Main Story Quest) to get access to the new area... but as far as I'm aware, plenty of rps occur in the city states, such as the Quicksand in Ul'dath (talking from Balmung perspective by the by) So look at it this way: If you can't get on Balmung, you have the option to pick a world and just do it for the gaming (and follow things like Roleplay Events and post/respond on Making Connections too) while getting the feel of your char and the world itself. You can use the opportunity to check out the Community board to study up and such. I suggest to check out pinned stuff first to get you started. Remember that one of the criteria you need meet for world transfer is to accumulate a certain amount of hours ingame for your char. Because once you do, its up to you if you still wish to do the char transfer to Balmung... or wait for maintenance to get into the world right after it is done. Sorry if this is all overwhelming for you. I wanted to give you plenty of info so that you can look through them all both at your discretion and pace! I hope this is enough to help you get started.
