Thanks for the quick reply. I have some ideas about that, but they kinda all hinge on what is acceptable, and un-acceptable in a RPers world. I know "my game play as I want" but I want to be taken seriously when I try to RP with someone. Maybe I'm just being overly critical..... EDIT: So a Miqo'te pirate isn't like a NO-NO or anything? Just curious, haven't seen to many Miqo'te playing pirate themes.

Hey guys! As I've posted more than once about being new to FFXIV and role-play, I wont spend much time on that, it should be pretty clear from just that lol. I'm having a really hard time building up a backstory and the motivations I want my character to have. I would appreciate it if someone pretty familiar to the lore of both the game and Miqo'te, would want to help me out developing a fun character to play, but yet doesn't offend the lore. Below I posted a few details about my character. I studied the Miqo'te names last night and as to my knowledge, the name is acceptable according to the lore. 1: Male Miqo'te. Keeper of the Sun. Name: M'iraak Nuhn. 2: Class is Archer/Bard and will be picking up a few other classes/jobs for a "jack of all trades" kinda guy. 3. Kind of wanting a pirate kind of RP. I love the water IRL and have my own boat and such, plus love to fish and I'm fascinated with Pirates all the way around. I don't know if this matters, but I've yet to actually role-play much with anyone, other than messing around in the Quicksand. This due in part to not knowing how to proceed with my character, hence feeling I was incapable with RPing with anyone. Hope this isn't to much to ask and thanks to those who have advice to give, thanks!

Okay I don't typically play a badass on the internet, nor do I consider myself as the Chuck Norris of fighting, nor would I intentionally splash someone with water from a roadside puddle.... But if.......if.....if someone where to throw something at my truck for splashing them, potentially harming me or a passenger, the only thing getting shattered would be there face. (or at the least, I would try to) That's how we would handle that where I'm from, and that's all I will say on the matter.

Oh another PS4 user! Welcome to the club! The in-game keyboard serves it's purpose, but only just barely.. to me it feels awkward and clunky, hard to use. Like most other in-game keyboards. What I would recommend is getting yourself one of those cheap $20.00 USB wireless keyboards and just using that. It's so much better and I would say close to a must, for RP gameplay. Newer myself but may be able to help with some "Newbie Friendly" advice.

I have to admit, being new to role-play, Final Fantasy and Miqo'te all together, I never really put 2 and 2 together when it would come to ears/tails/claws etc. Opens up new avenue to role-play properly, so I assume I will be doing that more often. Just not to the point where its like "OMG okay we get it, you have a tail....."

My Miqo'te character would make your heads explode, M'iraak Nuhn, and I am clan-less, harem-less, nor did I have to fight another for title of Huhn.... *mind.....blown*

I'm not sure if I'll even last till endgame, getting to 50 seems to take forever!

Thanks for the encouragement, but when I say scrub art, I really mean scrub art. I've only been drawing for about a week now.....so it shows lol.

Wow, these pieces are seriously amazing! I was so excited to see the opening line of "I don't art much". I was thinking "YESSSS!! Someone who probably has scrub art comparable to mine so I can now post my stuff as well without looking like I'm completely horrible at drawing" But alas, twas not the case.....oh well. *hides "art" back in the closet* Seriously, awesome work.

Weird, I thought Fire Emblem: Awakening was a military helicopter game & on the Playstation 2......

I don't do much dieting in the way of giving up certain foods or even that of following an actual diet. I'm the type of person who, once has decided to lose weight, simply just cuts back into smaller portions of what I normally eat. *flexs muscles* Works wonders:) hahah.

Welcome fellow newbie! I too, am just fairly new with RP and FFXIV. Wish you a ton of luck and a lot of fun to be had! Also, regarding the whole "Balmung Open" things, if you have the spare $20.00 I would recommend just doing a server transfer. I tried to get into Balmung for other a week until I decided to pay for the transfer. Best decision in the game so far.

Thanks for all the input and help from everyone so far. I finally just decided to jump into the whole RP thing last night inside The Quicksand, I would say that it was reasonably successful, though I'm sure I made a few mistakes. As much as I've wanted to try the whole RP thing for probably the last few years, I'm disappointed I didn't try it sooner, in just the few hours I spent, I could tell that RPing can bring a totally different breathe of fresh air into the game. Not sure but I've may of seen a few fellow forum goers there as well...

Noob question to be sure, but I noticed when examining other players, thwubhave a custom message displayed like "walk-up rep welcome" etc. I can't seem to find where to set that.
