  1. It seems to me they're trying to think a bit outside the box on job classes for 14. While there are a few similarities in job classes between 11 & 14 I don't think things will be the same again. None of the jobs will be called the same thing or work the same way they did in 11. While I'm sad to see Red Mage go, I think now is the time to try something completely new.
  2. I'm probably going to get murdered for this, but I hate older cards. I actually loved Zendikar and I have a red and green allies deck :lol: It was my very first deck so I didn't have any other cards to worry about try to fit into the deck though. Of course, all my decks are standard legal except my block specific decks I use for tournaments with my friends. I could see that being a bit of a pain for people who have been collecting a while but to me there is nothing like laying a bunch of 1/1's in a multi-player game, getting ignored by everyone, then putting something in that buffs all those 1/1's to 16/16's and using overrun. They never see it coming I only think it's fair to warn anyone and everyone against Odyssey by Vance Moore http://www.amazon.com/Odyssey-Cycle-Book-I/dp/0786919000. This was a horrible, horrible book and it makes me want to cry every time I think of it. It's battle after endless battle and it takes these wonderful characters and ruins them. If you ever want to lose the will to live and die horribly then go ahead and pick it up. However, the other ones look awesome! I haven't read Wrath and Storm yet but it looks so good!
  3. Every week at Final Fantasy D&D everyone asks when the mysterious Dyterium is going to show up. We'll have to order 150 chucks wings when you come down here. Maybe when Sera is older we can take a trip up to CT because I've heard good things ^^. We actually have a ton of friends from LoA that live between here and NYC so maybe we can make a day of it. I'm just determined to see central park so I hope the wing place is close Back on topic... I actually use to hate spicy food and would never try any kind of hot sauce before I met Zane. Now I have to have it on my tacos and wings or it's just not acceptable I also hate it when wings end up sweet or when the sauce is awesome and the meat is gross. Nothing like biting into a fatty, burnt or bloody wing :cry:
  4. There was talk of this a while ago but it was decided ventrillo might be a little expensive. I'd be all for it if there was a server for it. My linkshell in FFXI uses it all the time but it seems like 4 or 5 people dominate the conversation and doesn't let the other 20+ people on vent get a word in edgewise. No idea how to use Skype though >
  5. My friends and I play Magic once a week and then we have theme tournaments. I came in second in our Ice Age block 2 weeks ago and I'm hoping I do well in the Mirage block coming up. I have a blue and white levelers, blue and green landfall, red and green allies, phyrexia vs. coalition decks, and some random ones like ice age and mirage floating around. The main decks I'm working on at the moment are based on my Final Fantasy Dungeons and Dragons characters: Seraphine: angels/knights/solider pure white deck. Amelia: vampires pure black deck. However, I've played Lord of the Rings, .Hack, Yugi-oh, and Pokemon in the past. I'd play WoW but I just don't have the time and I'm mad they made it so you don't get the mounts/pets/etc 100% if you get the card. RMTs ruin everything :cry:
  6. Ugh! It's like Zane's hot sauce obsession. He goes after the hottest sauces he can find and drinks bowls of it. Literally until his lips and tongue are white and tears are dripping down his face >< I get a stomachache just watching sometimes.
  7. Everyone knows the only car that will start during a zombie invasion is a volvo since they start no matter what. You're all falling victim to the classic, "Oh no the car won't start!" blunder. You really don't have to worry about making noise if they're already chasing you. The one thing I didn't like about the Left for Dead series is that it broke the lore of zombies being really slow. Okay, sure it gave more excitement and panic but zombies are known for being slow. It's like having vampires that sparkle in the daylight ; ;
  8. Everything you need to know right there. I read that once while I was sitting in a Boarders waiting for Zane to get finished at his work across the street. I actually have tons of zombie dreams and they totally freak me out but after reading this I'm confident I could beat up any zombie - even Micheal Jackson. Just remember to always carry a spare bullet in your pocket!
  9. It looks like the thread is winding down a bit so I encourage everyone to get in whatever last minute RP they'd like to do and I'll be ending it by tomorrow at this time unless something interesting happens. Thanks to everyone for joining in! :cheer:
  10. Cassondra smiled at Seraj and the red-headed Elezen, "Thanks for the compliments!". When Seraj presented the gold leaf as payment, Sondra's green eyes would widen to the point of nearly falling out of her head, "Wow! That's so pretty! I really love it, thanks!" After affixing the brooch to her dress and filling Kima's glass she sat down in her chair and began her sketch of Sass. Every so often she checked over her shoulder to see if the old woman had noticed her portrait.
  11. Go ahead! I think it's a awesome idea and I can't wait to see what you come up with. Take your time ^^ Also, I forgot to answer your question about making her in game. The $3 a slot is kinda killing me at the moment as I tend to make a lot of characters. This time around I think I can only afford three so I'm trying to figure out which ones stay and which ones get the boot. Right now it's Crystal, Cassondra and my FFXI main Seraphine, but that's three female hyurs so it might be a bit boring. I've also had the urged to remake my mithra character but her background has more holes then swiss cheese so maybe not. Sadly Cassondra is first on my boot list but she's grown on me a lot.
  12. I'm glad I was reading your character correctly and I wasn't just making assumptions. Now if only I had any real artistic talent in real life I'd actually draw the pictures. I'll just have to be content with my lame cut and paste photoshop work I could respond to everyone now since I think just about everyone has said something Sondra could respond to but I think I'm going to wait and see if Az does a response to her picture before I move forward. And what is our local baddie doing in the corner? - Vials of crack or people's souls?
  13. Okay, I just didn't want to come across as being rude or something :lol: I racked my brain for a good quote to use for Seraj. She's been so friendly and nice she brings a lot of energy to the group, but I'm not sure if that is just my interpretation of her. Of course she might be planning on lifting a few wallets before the night is through for all I know I think what most stood out in my mind was the fact she's a gambler and she has sort of won over the group without any explanation. Luck or skill, you decide I hope Az actually likes Sondra's interpretation of her instead of whacking her with her cane for making an assumption about her elders or something.
  14. (I wrote this before Sass posted his but I got busy with the baby. I think it still works though since her first paragraph ends by talking to Sass. Of course... it is 3:37am so forgive me if I'm wrong ^^ "I'll bring you another drink." Cassondra smiled at the woman as she placed her pencil on the table. Placing her left hand flat against one page of her sketch pad, she tore the right side free from the book with her other. Then she repeated the action with the page after that. Standing up from her chair she went to the table next to her and placed the first portrait in front of the Miqo'te with a smile, "As promised. I'll be back to settle with you once I get our other friend a drink. You're next, Sass." She turned again from the large table of patrons and back to where the old woman was seated alone. Taking the woman's glass she said quietly, "It must... be lonely sometimes having to deal with that by yourself. Treasure or curse I think you handle it better then most could." With that she laid the second portrait down on the woman's table and walked away quietly to get her a refill. (The picture of Seraj shows her holding up one hand with three dice, oddly all with 7's showing, stacked on top of each other between her index and middle finger. She is winking one eye and a slight glimmer in her other one. Instead of a smirk on her face she's smiling as if she is letting everyone in on a good joke and in the bottom right hand corner are written the words, "Good luck needs no explanation." The picture of Az shows her in a battle pose, wielding her cane as if it were a sword. While her face bore the same wrinkles as the woman everyone saw, there is the slight glimmer of youth and kindness in her eyes. However, instead of a frown, a grin that heralds a warning to those who cross her. Beneath the detailed drawing of the necklace were the words, "It takes courage to become who you really are.")
  15. Listed on Eorzeapedia as Seraphine. Already sent gifts to everyone on the list.
  16. Sorry to post twice in a row but when I was writing up my last post I realized I didn't have a chance to respond to Sass. I'm going to just assume she gave her name politely so not to break up the flow of conversation. Sorry to have to retcon like that. I just had Sondra go sit somewhere so she wasn't standing in the middle of the group like a statue while waiting for people to respond :lol:
  17. (Cassondra's character sheet: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=393 ) Marneus Lanviade, Cassondra made a mental note of the name as he spoke. The tavern has cleaned up a lot now it is being turned into an Adventurer Guild but every once in a while we get shady folks like him. I guess it comes with the job, but what a creepy guy! Cassondra looked toward the bar area as the barkeep prepared another drink for the new Duskwight Elezen female who joined the table. Let another girl take this one, Sondra thought, I'll handle the next round and it won't cost me too much. I'd better get back to my other job. Sitting down at the table with her art supplies, Cassondra picked up her sketch book and pencil once more. Turning to a fresh page, she glanced at the miqo'te at the table and began to draw the outline for her face. Working quickly and carefully she listened to the conversation at the table next to her in silence.
  18. I'm not the best a forum RP as well, but I think everything is working out alright. I think I'm going to let Cassondra go back to her art for a bit and see how things develop with Az. Tyriont's character has also added a bit of a new element for the group, I think and it'll be interesting to see how that will turn out. ... And I just have to ask! What is that thingie under your name Tyriont? I can't make out what type of smiley it is (if that's what it is) or it's meaning? Sorry to seem like such a noob for not being able to figure it out ^^;;
  19. Just checking with everyone to see if the pace of the thread is to everyone's liking. I've been trying to get everyone settled with drinks and allowing you guys to RP with each other so I can get to the portrait part of the thread since there is actually a point to that as you will all see. Hope everyone is having fun and we can get a couple more people in to join us
  20. Cassondra smiled at the red-haired Elezen whose name she still hadn't caught. Hoping it would come up in conversation at some point, but feeling too shy to ask she stated, "I wouldn't dream of saying no to a well meaning customer. Now you all have drinks I think I'll attend our door watching guest and be right back to do your portrait, Miss." She turned her back on the table and made her way over to the corner of the room where a duskwight Elezen sat flipping a small bone between the fingers of his right hand as if he were anxious or irritated. I'm not sure I even want to know where that bone came from, she thought to herself as she crossed the tavern room floor. She couldn't see his eyes under the hood, but the motion of his head seemed to indicate he was watching the door for someone to join him. As she approached him she smiled and said, "Welcome to the Drowning Wench. I'm Cassondra, or just Sondra, and I'll be your hostess tonight. We have ale, rum, beer, wine, spirits, and just about anything else to serve your palate. What can I get for you this evening?"
  21. After filling Kima's glass full of ale, she returned to the bar and brought a tray with a glass of milk, a plate of cookies and a bowl of bretzels. Handing the cookies and milk to Sass she smiled at stated, "I haven't heard such a simple request in drinks in a long time. Consider that one on me." Then she placed the bowl of bretzels in the center of the table next to the two pitchers of ale for the rest of the group to enjoy. Moving round the table, she leaned down to speak to the red-headed Elezen man, "I have a older sibling and we don't exactly... communicate very well. Be there for your sister and that's payment enough for me."
  22. I mostly liked this article because it broke the stereotype and I don't condone theft and threats. It was good to see the good guys win.
  23. "I've no need for a drawing of this old face young lady." The woman said, much to Cassondra's disappointment. It would have been fun to have drawn someone with such a intriguing aura about her. There was no doubt the woman in front of her had a tale or two in her somewhere. "Well, I'll return to fill your glass shortly. Maybe I will have figured out a way to convince you by then." She gave the woman a grin and turned her attention back to the tavern room floor. The spiked haired man and the miqo'te were entertaining themselves with some sort of card games when she approached. "You two seem to be getting along. This is turning into quite a party." Taking one of the two pitchers in hand and placing it in the center of the table she exclaimed loudly, "To your health!" Turning slightly, she glanced at the Elezen man who was tapping his fingers on the table in front of him and the young hyur man who was still fiddling with his belongings. Motioning to the table where the red-headed man and the Miqo'te sat she said aloud, "How about you two join us for some company, cards, art and a pint? - First drink is free of charge."
