Description: Although the Starlight Festival has ended, the orphans of Eorzea are still in great need of assistance. Members of the public will be allowed to place bids on participating singles for a one time only date. But wait... already have a partner? - Well, no need to miss out! If you already have a partner, you may make a donation and your partner will receive a hand written invitation at the auction to go on a date with you. They will also receive a coupon book that will give them their hearts desire. Remember, all funds raised will be divided among orphanages across the three city-states. We hope to see you there! ================================== Participants: Weather you're looking for love or would just like to help a worthy cause, we are taking applicants to be auctioned for a single date with the winning bidder. Chaperons will be available upon request. This includes during the event and during dates. If you are disruptive you may be asked to leave. Although you are free to show a little skin shirt/body armor, pants/skirt, and shoes are to be worn at all times. No undergarments please!! Make sure to fill out an application. In order to volunteer to be auctioned you must complete the application provided above. Please speak in /say sparingly. Due to the fact the amphitheater is out of the way, /shout will be used by the auctioneer only to ensure people do not miss what is being announced. Please keep all comments in /say or /emotes. However, do not disrupt the other people attending by spamming the chat. If you need to speak with someone, move close to their character and "whisper" in /tell or /party chat. Each character is allowed one successful bid on a date. You cannot continue to bid on others after you have already won one date auction. Volunteers may also bid on dates, however, they must go on the date they were auctioned for as well as the date they bid upon. Chaperons may be requested. For everyone's safety chaperons can be made available if either person on the date requests one. Remember you are bidding on a single date. This is not to be constructed in any way shape or form of providing 'services'/erp. It's a date. D-A-T-E. Please be respectful of people's gender preference. For everyone's comfort if a character has specified a gender preference on their application, members of the opposite gender may not place a bid. Both parties going on the date must agree to the date, time, and activity. No refunds, even if the date is called off or random events due to acts of Cod. Bids will be handled with in-game gil although no money will actually be taken from your character. You may only bid with what funds you have in your possession. If you have made a successful bid you must come to the co-host, open a trade window and show the gil. You do not have to give up your gil OOCly. You will then be traded a flower to give to your new date. Lucky In Love participants and recipients will be announced at the event. The actual date invite, message, and coupon book will be PM'ed to your beloved on the forums. I hope to see everyone there!!
  2. That sucks but I'm glad it's fixed for you now. See ya in game
  3. I asked Zane and he's pretty stumped to. The only suggestion he had is to make sure the beta version isn't installed. If there is another version of the game somewhere on your computer that might be the cause of your issue. Hope that helps!
  4. Is our power level over 9000 yet? Congrats and great job everyone :bounce:
  5. Happy 1-1-11! People born today have an awesome birthdate >.> I went for in game content and more things for RP'ers. I mean, although I have faith SE will fix things, when they screw up you guys keep me smiling :cheer: ---- Which of the following issues you would like to see addressed first? Lack of in-game content What do you find most appealing about FINAL FANTASY XIV? Other Role playing with my friends.
  6. I usually like to make up my own stories for my character and stay away from the game plot. Of course, my character will have knowledge of an event if I've done a certain mission, but she'll never claim she personally did something. However, if someone wants to RP a mission/quest I'm not going to stop them since it's all personal preference. Unless it's having a negative impact on me, someone else, or is a blatant disregard for common sense, I'm not going to tell anyone what to do with their character.
  7. I always wanted to do this on Sylph but I only got to come like three times  Count me in on the committee!
  8. Hmm... I was having the same problem with Firefox but it seems to be fixed now.
  9. Thank you to everyone that came to this event! I know a lot of story lines were going on and I hope everyone had a great time :bounce:
  10. Last minute we'll have to change locations to Seraphine's home in Ul'dah. I was just informed another group uses the miner's guild on Wednesdays and we have a lot of people coming so we might not all fit anyway. Moving to the spot where Full Cold Moon was held. New Location: Milvaneth Sacrarium, between the Weaver's Guild Sunsilk Tapestries and The Mining Guild, Amajina & Sons Mineral Concern.
  11. Just a reminder to let everyone know to gather tonight at the miner's guild. Hope to see you there (^.^)b
  12. Just bring your snazzy self and all will be good. And yeah, you warned me about the heels but they were just so darn cute! How could I resist? Actually, someone left an AC adapter next to the bed with the prongs up. I turned out the lights to get into bed and stepped right on it.
  13. I had an accident last night and ended up in the ER with a nice puncture wound and a broken ankle. I'm hoping this doesn't put a damper on things and I still have plans to continue but I might need a co-host in case I can't stay for more then an hour or two
  14. Oooh! Hope that means you're coming then! Bring the pink coatee but you can wear whatever you'd like I guess. We can always go "change"
  15. The Full Cold Moon was an amazing event I know Oria spent a ton of time on. To be honest, I've never seen such an awesome event with give aways and everything. I'm just kinda throwing this together but I hope everyone will have a great time. I'm hoping Oria can make it so we can take our pictures together :bounce: And thanks for the compliment on the signature. Hope to see ya there!
  16. Are you kidding? - I think Romeo had a total bromance with Mercutio. That's the real reason he was so eager to get vengeance. I'd love to lend a hand but I'll have to see what the shared computer situation looks like  I'll let you know as soon as possible.
  17. o_o If she's talking IC, then five minutes in Eorzea is five seconds OOC time! D: Kidding. Hope you have a great time!! Hahaha! : Hello every-! : Great tale, now get off the stage. Yeah that's real life time which is why the ( ). It's just so people aren't giving twenty minute speeches or anything. Five minutes is a rough estimate, btw. I won't stone you if it's six but I might be raising my eyebrow if it's been eight. Also, if you think you can manage it songs, poems, dances, anything like that is welcome as well.
  18. "A Cup of Good Cheer" ((Hanging in the Ul'dah Miner's Guild as well as the three taverns.)) When: 22nd Sun of the 8th Umbral Moon at the Twentieth Bell. ((22 December @ 8 PM Eastern 5 PM Pacific 1 AM London)) Where: The Miner's Guild in Ul'dah ((Note: I'm not sure how big or small the crowd will be. If it gets too large the crowd will move to the Winter Estate in Ul'dah IC.)) Hosted by: Seraphine Winter Description: It's the season for holiday cheer and we've not had the chance to celebrate the Starlight Festival in the company of good friends and fine food. Therefore, I am inviting all to a night of tales, gifts, dining, and plenty of merry making at the Miner's Guild in Ul'dah. Casual or seasonal wear is encouraged and if you have any last minute gifts for friends this is the perfect time to exchange them. A toast will be given at the start of the event as well as the traditional story of the Starlight Festival to be told by Keir Loell. If you have a short tale of the season (no longer then 5 minutes) you would like to share with the group then please let me know. Hope to see you there! ================================== ~OOC notes~ Purpose of event: To spread some holiday cheer, socialize, and exchange any last minute gifts. Due to the fact this event was planned and announced last minute it is to be a just casual and fun event. Because during the week was the only time left I ended up having to pick a time that I know is very inconvenient for EU people. I apologize whole heartily for this since I am all for including everyone and I promise the next event I have coming will be at a much, much easier time for you all. I know a lot of people have plans (including me) this week so if you can't make it then I understand. Also, please don't go out of your way to buy any kind of special clothes or gifts for anyone. Bring what you have and only offer what you would have anyway! In case you would like to give a short story, please practice a bit before you present it and if you need help let me know! Please feel free to send me a PM or a /tell and I'll do my best to help out. Rules: 1. Because this event is open to the public I ask you to please keep your language/behavior appropriate for the general public. If in doubt, just don't say it. No mass food fights and leg gear (pants, skirts, tights, lederhosen, etc.) are to be worn at all times. 2. Please be courteous and respectful of your fellow roleplayers. 3. Fighting will not be tolerated. If you or your character have a problem with someone, please take it outside. 4. You may get drunk but please remove your character before any vomit/clothes hit the floor. 5. /say is fine unless there are a lot of people in the Miner's Guild synthing at that time. Depending on the amount of people that show up we'll either go into /p chat or move location. Thank you and hope to see you there! (^.^)/
  19. It's nice but I'm looking forward to some of the other things a lot more. I'm so excited about the new gear they showed on the Lodestone and the extra retainer.
  20. I only have the forums bookmarked and I never go to the main site anymore. However, it does have a lot of useful information for beginning roleplayers. As long as that information is kept somewhere visible to new people, I think the main site has outlived it's usefulness.
  21. This should be fun but I kinda wished SE would have come up with something original for FFXIV >.> The dressed up chocobo is just too adorable!! :chocobo:
  22. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope you're enjoying a great day with your family and friends. I always thought chocobo would taste more like chicken then turkey... anyone volunteer to find out?
  23. I'll be going for my birthday and I can't wait! I'd love to see it in Imax but for $17 a ticket here I'm not sure it's worth the price. Someone told me it sucked so I'm glad to hear a positive review since I've been looking forward to this ^^
  24. Sure thing! http://apps.facebook.com/knightsofthecrystals/ They also have a chocobo breeding/dungeon game: http://apps.facebook.com/chocobos/
