  1. Do not mess with gamers. We spend all day training, learning tactics, and pretending to be heroes and villains. People call us nerds, accuse us of a lack of social skills, and take our lunch money... but never touch our Nintendo DS!
  2. The puppetmaster, Akah, won his first round so your cheers must have helped
  3. Sondra's eyes widened as the silvery pendant around the woman's neck began to emanate each time she... spoke? "Something strong, and in a very large glass. Roegadyn beer...what ever you have and it had better be strong." Came a soft voice but full of intent. The woman's green eyes then shifted to glance at the crowd who had gathered around the Miqo'te and the Elezen man. Quickly she turned her eyes back to Sondra who smiled at her before stating, "You're necklace is remarkable, if you don't mind me saying. I love jewelry but I've never seen anything that amazing and it suites you very well. My name is Cassondra or you can call me Sondra for short and I'll be your hostess. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to make you comfortable and I'll go get your order." Sondra walked away towards the bar a few steps, then turned around and addressed the woman once more, "Oh, I also draw portraits in my free time, " She pointed towards her table with the sketches and pencils laid out. "You have amazing eyes and I'd really love the chance to draw your portrait. The others over there are waiting for a portrait as well so feel free to join them." With a blush, Sondra turned back towards the bar feeling slightly embarrassed by being so forward. Taking a clean glass from under the counter once more she filled it with a type Roegadyn beer which had been fermented longer for a particularly potent effect. She placed it on a tray and then glanced around the room. Alright! Quite a crowd has built up! Maybe I'll have a good tip night if I can keep them all happy, she thought excitedly to herself. Taking two pitchers from under the counter, she poured it full of ale from the taps behind her. Lets see..., she thought to herself again, there is the spikey haired Elezen man who has a glass, the Miqo'te with the cute headband who has a glass too, and the elderly woman who may or may not join them who has her beer. Then a new comer Duskwight Elezen man with an intresting tatoo above his right eye and a youthful hyur man with white hair... and are those chocobo feathers... that both need glasses. Hopefully I can catch a few of their names so it's easier to remember. I hope I'm not forgetting anyone, she thought as she took the tray full of beer, ale, and glasses back out to the tavern floor.
  4. Gosh I wish I had that kind of talent! Great job on the details. She looks really pretty ^^
  5. Raising an eyebrow inquisitively, Cassondra turned in her chair to glance fully around the room. A hulking Roegadyn was working his way from the door through the crowd. He had a look on his face that made Sondra's sit back a bit more firmly in her chair. Knowing my luck he'll want a drink from me, she thought as she averted her eyes from his gaze. The elderly lady who entered behind him wore a frown that seemed to reach the ground. Cassondra watched her carefully as she made her way to a table alone. Something about her pretty green eyes still seemed to reflect a youthful vigor although it seemed the strength from her body was fading. Then a small, silver pendant caught the dim light and Sondra couldn't help but smile. Anyone who wore such an amazing accessory had to have some good taste. Well, it's the potentially mean Roegadyn or the frowning lady... I think I know which one I'll go help, she decided. "Thank you for the compliment." Sondra smiled at the Miqo'te. "I think I need to go pour that lady a drink, but you're such a pretty girl I'd like to do a portrait of you when I get back, if you don't mind." Turning again to the red-headed man she added, "Why don't you two take a seat at the table next to us, I'll bring some more drinks and we'll settle up the price of the picture when I get back?" Sondra stood up from her chair and ran a hand over her dress to straighten out any wrinkles. Then suddenly a stunned expression crossed her face as she seemed to remember something. Company policy to always give your name and extend any courtesies, she reminded herself before adding, "Oh, by the way, I'm Cassondra, or just Sondra, and I'll be your hostess this afternoon."
  6. (Jim Bob wears his trusty cowboy hat everywhere he goes. He feels it really compliments his purple flip flops. He has a nasty snarl on his face all the time, but that's just to compensate for his clown like multi-colored hair. He has thick rimmed spectacles and brief case stuffed to bursting with legal documents for his most important clients.) Yeah and Sass you can always just put at the top of the thread a brief description of your character like I did above. Just use the ( ) at the beginning and end of the statement to note a out of character comment, if you didn't already know that. Thanks for joining to the both of you :approve:
  7. Taking the money from the Miqo'te with her free hand and slipping it into the pocket of her white apron, Cassondra crossed the floor to the bar area. She took a clean cloth from under the counter and wiped down the Elezen man's glass before turning behind her and filling it at the tap. She actually hadn't planned on anyone wanting to buy her original artwork, although she could understand why some people wouldn't want their portrait hanging about. However, since it was a gift to his sister Sondra couldn't refuse. After all, when she was young she would have loved to have gotten a nice gift from her older sibling. As the last drop of light brown ale dripped into the glass, Cassondra smiled to herself and thought, that's the fair price! Cassondra filled a second clean glass full of ale and turned back to the tavern room floor. As she passed the woman who had told the story she giggled softly, observing the amount of men who had flocked around her. Perhaps the Elezen man had a point about her performance. "Here you go, friends." She smiled as she handed the glasses to the red-headed man and the Miqo'te with the cute white hairband. "Fresh from the tap. Now let me think..." She sat down a the table for a moment and drummed her fingers on the surface, "Ah ha!" she exclaimed as she picked up a red pencil. Holding the sketch pad close to her body for a moment to shield it from view she busied herself drawing, stopping only to switch to a normal pencil once. After a minute or so of sketching, Cassondra held the piece of paper out to the Elezen and smiled, "Now she has something to remind her of you. I hope she likes it, sir!" (On the very corner of the page would be a small picture of Renaise and the words, "Two great things you give your siblings; one is roots and the other is wings".)
  8. Thanks everyone! I felt like I was writing my life story there, but I'm glad I managed to get the point across clearly. This was stated from a purely legal, parental point of view. When I was a teenager I understood a lot of the world and the consequences of my actions and I feel like I could have handled a more mature guild. However, the law doesn't make allowances for maturity so taking on a guild member who is under the age limit without a warning or restrictions is really taking a lot on for the other members. Sad it's that way.
  9. Thanks and I'm glad we were okay too . Kinda odd that it's breaking out in a average neighborhood in daylight but apparently the gangs have been restless for a while. I am still really freaked out and we're going to be shopping somewhere else from now on and going outside as little as possible till it blows over. One of the shootings took place outside the hospital where I take my daughter, so we'll be changing doctors. I guess the point of the threads is to get to know each other IC and OOC so I don't mind casual chat as long as it doesn't totally derail the topic. Anyway, I left space for Kashemia to respond but if anyone else wants to order a drink and can do it without appearing too rude then go ahead. However, my character will probably wait for Kashemia before proceeding to fill all the orders. Feel free to take a seat and talk among yourselves
  10. With a giggle, Cassondra reached up and took the pin out of the picture of the butterfly. She stared at it for a moment and tried to remember what had inspired her to draw it in the first place. Perhaps it was from a dream? She placed the sketch down on the table in front of her and briskly rose from her chair, "I'll have to take a moment to calculate it's price. These things are subjective, you know. Why don't I refill your drink while I'm at it?" She reached out and took the glass from the red-headed Elezen man and glanced fondly at the Miqo'te, "Is there anything I can get for you while I'm up, Miss...?"
  11. Yeah, being a mom, student, girlfriend and end gamer isn't easy Sorry for the lack of posts but yesterday something odd happened My boyfriend and I were on our way to the grocery store when we realized a gang war is occurring right outside our front door. Apparently the leader of a big gang here was shot at a stop light here by a rival gang on the 15th and there have been a lot of shootings in this area because of it. On the half a mile trip from here to the grocery store we saw bodies, ambulances, and gang members openly flashing their colors. The grocery store had 5 police cars out front, and tons of them inside the store patrolling in bullet proof vests while fully armed. Needless to say it was the fastest shopping trip we had ever done and we ended up spending a ton of money so we wouldn't have to go outside anytime soon. Anyway, there were fights going on outside all night so it was a bit distracting for me having been raised in a upper class neighborhood in California I'm on my way to go respond now and thanks for joining in!
  12. One of my first end game shells had a average age of about 23+. There wasn't a lot of mature discussion on the shell because everyone was busy with end game events/progression and all the chat was focused around game mechanics. One of the officers decided that his 13 year old child was old enough to play FFXI and be in the linkshell. He definitely had his parents permission but it wore on everyone else quickly. He was constantly chattering, demanding people help him, and would have fits if things didn't go his way. During our first dynamis run with him he successfully tanked the entire run after ganking tons of gear from people who had earned them with "Oops" as his only comment >.> When the issue was brought to the attention of the parent, he refused to believe or understand why it was a issue with any of the shell members. He insisted that he would just watch his child more carefully, but it didn't help. Eventually rules had to be made just to accommodate this one person and it was frustrating for everyone involved. Conversely my end game shell has an average age of 26-27+ with several people who are well into their 40's. We talk about work, taxes, our children, game mechanics and yes, sex. No, we're not having sex at all but we joke about it and post image on the forums (like motivational poster kinda stuff) that aren't appropriate for children. Everything we say is just joking around and no one takes it seriously, but for kids it might be a bit confusing or misleading. We don't have an age limit and to be honest when people under 18 join the shell they normally get bored anyway. Who wants to hang out with a bunch of old people when we start talking about music from the 80's and why we hate our bosses? - Since the few teenagers who have joined leave, my guess is no one To make a long post even longer, I'm a mom and I watch my kid like a hawk. However, I know a couple in my linkshell that have a daughter who is one week younger then mine and they don't watch her at all. More then once I've heard about them yelling over ventrillo for their four year old son to watch the baby so they can keep chaining exp >.> It's really rough for me to constantly be having to watch her and never getting a moment to myself, but I'd rather myself be inconvenienced and know I'm being a responsible parent. Not all parents are responsible and would rather blame the evils of the internet and other people for their child's behavior. The rules are here to protect ourselves as much as the children (yep, teenagers are children no matter how mature they are). Age requirements are not a bad thing, nor does it mean everyone is talking about something naughty who join. It's just letting people know what the mentality of the shell is and to make it easy on hyper sensitive parents who aren't really watching their kid as carefully as they could.
  13. If it makes you feel better Kashemia even though I'm American I'm usually on at European times. Having a one year old means I sleep from 6am EST to 11am EST and if I'm really lucky I get a hour or two nap in the afternoon
  14. Questions, comments, and concerns may be posted here where they will promptly be ignor- *coughs* I mean, answered. Hope everyone has fun getting to introduce/progress their character :approve:
  15. A odd type of silence filled The Drowning Wench as all it's patrons had turned to face a lone red-headed woman with a green bandanna tied around her head. It wasn't just her reveling top or uncommonly pretty face that attracted the crowed, but her voice seemed to boom and echo off the polished ceilings. Nearly everyone in Limsa Lominsa enjoyed a good pirate tale and the woman who stood tall in the center of the tavern narrating had caught the attention of the crowd. Holding her hands up over her head, and bringing them down in a crashing motion she continued, "Water poured over the ship as it began to break up. The crewmen screamed in terror as they fell into the waves and disappeared. In a short time, there was nothing left of the ship or its crew, save one lone survivor. He had a strange tale to tell. He said that he saw the captain disappear into the sea and at that very moment he swore that he had heard the ringing of a bell; as though the Devil himself was bidding the captain, âWelcome!". She paused for a moment and began pacing around the room, meeting each persons glance with her deep green eyes. From behind the bar an Elezen girl with white hair dropped a glass and a few sharp breaths were heard as a few people became startled. As the woman turned a harsh glance in the direction of the bar the girl blushed and quietly picked the glass up. When all eyes had turned back to the woman she put her hands behind her back and continued pacing, "But even today, sailors will tell you that when the sea is rough, there are times that they can hear the ringing of a deep-toned bell. And when they look into the sky, they see a ghostly sailing ship with one solitary figure pacing the deck!" The tavern erupted in applause and laughter as the woman took a grandiose bow before her audience. Drink service continued as the barkeep began pouring drinks from the tap behind the bar as he cheered. Several waitresses sluggishly went back to their work and took the freshly poured glasses out to the tables. Men and women gathered together in loud conversation, each convinced they had a better tale that just had to be told at that exact moment. "Haha!" A man with a bushy black beard sitting at the table across from Cassondra slapped his knee and flashed her a toothless grin, "Now wasn't that a story worth the hearing, lass?!" "Most definitely." Cassondra smiled in return as she used her little finger to smudge a bit of pencil across the page to serve as a crude type of shading. Actually, it was a bit cliched, she thought to herself as she added a few more fine details to the sketch of the woman who had been telling the tale. The bearded man next to her reached into his pocket and poured a handful of gil onto the table. Cassondra's attention turned towards him as she observed him leaning on a cane to stand on a single leg, and hobble out of the tavern. Sondra looked at the pile of money, placed her sketchpad on her table, and began to move her chair closer when the red-headed woman began saunter towards her. Straightening up, Sondra picked up her drawing once again and began adding in a few more details. Sighing inwardly, Sondra watched as one of the other waitresses followed behind the woman to clear the table, leaving it free for another group of customers. The red headed woman placed her hands on her hips as she approached, looking down at the portrait in Cassondra's hands, "I'll take it, girl. How much?" "Here, have it." Cassondra put one hand near the edge of the page and gently tore it from the book. The woman had already cost her more then the price of the paper, but she smiled sweetly as she held out the picture and nodded encouragingly, "Payment for the good tale." Looking over the sketch the woman shook her head and reached into her breeches, pulling out a piece of fine silk white ribbon, "Fair enough, but have this. It's straight from Ul'dah and everyone knows their weavers make all the best materials." "Thank you. That's very kind of you," Cassondra smiled as she took the smooth white ribbon from the woman who promptly waltzed off to the bar to sit among a crowd of admirers. Now this is what I call a fair deal! Offerings of clothing and accessories from interesting places are always accepted, she beamed to herself as she looked down at her hand. Holding it tightly so it wouldn't slip from her fingers, Cassondra tied it around her blonde ponytail. A sketch of a butterfly, a lakeside, one of a pirate ship, and a mysterious looking man wearing a cloak were pinned to the wall above Sondra's chair. The table in front of her was filled with more sketches as well as various colored pencils, some of which were broken and past the point of needing to be replaced. At the edge of the surface was a small sign neatly written in black calligraphy which read "Portraits For a Price." Cassondra glanced at the small gold pocket watch she had in her lap and picked up her sketchbook once more. There was still time for a few portraits before her shift began. As long as the drinks remained full and the crowds weren't too bad she was allowed to sketch during her down time. Of course, the tavern took a percentage of her profits, but it was still good practice and if a customer was feeling particularly generous it was worth the payout. Clearing her throat and raising her soft voice as much as she could she called out, "Who wants to be next?"
  16. The First Day thread was quite some time ago and a whole lot of people have joined since then. I'd like to give everyone a second chance to mingle in character and have a nice group discussion. Feel free to come on in, sit down at a table and start getting to know each other The Rules: 1. Please adhere to the actual lore of the game and layout of the tavern as possible. Even I myself have not seen it, but it's safe to assume there won't be any clowns, demons, or a three story condo with a pool in the tavern. See the following if you have questions: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/#/world/eorzea/limsalominsa/guilds/the_drowning_dolphin Once a runâdown alehouse frequented by sailors, thieves and worse, the Drowning Wench underwent a defining change when pub proprietor and former sellsword Baderon Tenfingers declared the bar and the inn above it the Adventurersâ Guild. While still a popular venue for a pirate to drink away his illâgotten gains, the majority of the pubâs custom now consists of eager adventurers fresh off the ferries, seeking the quickest path to fame and fortune. 2. No bar fights. - If you start throwing punches (ect.) the navy will swarm down from The Coral Tavern and take you to the nearest prison. For some reason if your characters get into a spirited debate that might result in the physical harm of one or more parties, chairs or Drowning Wenches please take it outside. 3. No hijacking the thread! - One on one discussions are okay but... if you would like to get into an in depth discussion with one particular character and advance your storyline please ask old Tenfingers to get you a room in the tavern for your chat (IE start a separate thread that's just your conversation). Once you've said all you need to say you can certainly rejoin the group. 4. Portraits and Drinks - My character will be going between drawing portraits and serving drinks. I allow any type of drink to be served but because we don't know what food will be included in the game please refrain from ordering meals at this time. If there is a bit of a wait please go ahead and start conversations with the rest of the group - after all, that's the point of the thread >.> If you are having your picture drawn: 4a. Please Post Promptly - Be aware that when you sit down at the table with Cassondra you will be expected to respond relatively quick to posts. If you are absent for an extended time my character will feel free to serve other people and eventually assume you left without taking your portrait with you. 4b. Physical Descriptions - Please include a link to your character sheet with the physical description of your character on it discreetly using OOC brackets such as ( ) or [ ] at the top of your post when you sit down to have your portrait taken. If none is provided (or there isn't enough for me to go on) then I'll simply have her sketch for a bit and hand you the paper when it's done without details. 5. No Drowning Wenches. Again, please feel free to sit down at a table and begin chatting with other people. Feel free to ask questions either in a PM to Crystal or in the OOC Thread: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=792
  17. Honestly the last update to FF11 changed the game drastically. In 10 hours my linkshell got 600k exp in Abyssea which is incredible! Also the level you can enter Abyssea is 30. You need an alliance of 75-80's to kill quickly and get time extentions, boxes and chests appear with the time extensions, currency, additional exp, and the good treasure drops. After your first run or two of Abyssea you can purchase keys to open the boxes with the currency you get. Our group designates 1-2 low level people to join the alliance, buy keys and open the boxes for us so we can continue killing quickly without having to stop everything we're doing and open them up. When they're not opening boxes they're allowed to skill up. We had one guy get from 63-78 in just a few hours. Also a lot (if not all) of the missions are now uncapped so that definitely makes things easier. The new gear is purchased with Abyssea currency and you get enough from about three hours of exp-ing to get the entire set. From what I understand all the NM's for new weapons are popped. Cooks, carpenters, and people who make other consumables are making a killing with very little effort. The servers are a lot more full now since people are returning to the game so there are a lot of old faces popping up. It almost seems like everyone is quitting the game just as it's getting good! There are still a lot of adventures in FF11... but sadly the game will be ending soon. I'll be there even after FF14 comes out, but I get why a lot of people have quit. I don't blame them for it either since everyone plays for their own reasons. I'm not sure that people are so much anti-FF11 as pro FF14. *Ninja edited for grammer ><
  18. Seraphine (PC): Seraphine's faith renewed, and a new determination to stem the tide of darkness growing in the heart of the world, she embarked on her first mission as a soldier of Coneria - the liberation of Pravoka. With it's success, and Pravoka returned to it's former rulers morale is at an all time high within the country of Onrac. As the war rages on however, one thing quickly becomes apparent: Seraphine is the thread that will ultimately decide the outcome of this war, for better or worse. (Job: Pld/War) I think it's pretty funny Seraphine's faith is renewed simply because the enemy killed off the queen. "Thanks for killing of the witch queen I hated, now I'll kick your butts", is pretty much her attitude Seraphine honestly doesn't want any part of the tournament because she's pretty sure it's a trap. I think she's only doing it to get a chance at convincing Zarik to leave Shi* and come fight for Coneria instead since he's totally wasted in that do nothing country. Join the cool side Zarik! :afro: I'm hoping since Seraphine decides the outcome of the war she gets to throw Fuma in a fire :approve: I actually think it would be fun to bring in more characters but as the NPC's outnumber the PC's atm it's a bit difficult. Plus the "evil" characters are suppose to have the upper hand in numbers so there isn't a lot of room for good characters right now. Later on in the story I want to have Seraphine try and recruit more good guys and some of the Altepa bandits so hopefully Zane will add more characters. I'll add Az and anyone else who is interested to the list of Seraphine's recruits Who knows, maybe I can convince Zane to do a non-cannon online event where everyone can play their own characters one of these days I think the other guys in our group would think it was cool because they've only heard of you guys and they've been asking when Dyterium is going to join us IC
  19. 1 in 4 stalkings involve the internet. I heard that this morning on CNN and it made me laugh
  20. My daughter (Seraphine Rose, after my FFXI character) is 1 year and 5 months old. That picture was from last Halloween but it's the only small one I have online. Honestly I think it's kinda odd Zane and I met in a game, but whatever works I guess :: shrugs :: Honestly I don't mind people getting to know me irl from in game as long as their people I actually enjoy being around and have known for a while. However, if you show up at my house and I didn't invite you personally I do want you to know I have an armed ninja in my living room. Funny thing is I'm not joking
  21. Thanks everyone who complimented Seraphine. She's my sweetheart <3 I never assumed he was joking. As long as I don't have to see it and he gives all lamp posts a disclaimer, have fun Renaise
  22. I've been wanting to post in this thread all week but I've been busy with friends/family/FFXI every single day Nearly four years ago my current boyfriend and I met in FFXI. For the first week or so after we met IC we never said a word to each other OOC. We even RP'ed for 48 hours straight without sleeping, just going around RP-ing with our friends and helping them out with quests. Eventually things did wear on us because our characters were so close and we had so many different things going on in our real lives. I actually got upset with Zane over how much influence we had over each other in game and we broke it off IC for about six months. Oddly enough it turned out things were harder for us to be together IC and not OOC. Go figure. Obviously things worked out because we live together and have a cute little girl who I have to show off because she's perfect: However, I think when we decided to get together IC and OOC we ended up hurting a lot of people. I really wish I could go back and fix some of the mistakes I made back then. I guess people really don't get second chances though ^^;; I do agree with Castiel that there are a lot of pitfalls to playing with your real life partner. For example, I'm a pretty moderate RP'er while Zane is a very heavy end gamer. Today I really wanted to RP with TALE members, but I had to go do Abyssea with him and my linkshell. Yes, I had a lot of fun... but I am slightly disappointed I didn't get to do what I wanted to do. There are lots of drawbacks, but on the other hand, Zane is also my best friend in the entire world. Creating stories, RP'ing with each other, and playing together is one of the most awesome things in our relationship. After all my experiences with RP relationships I think the most important things are knowing what you want out of the relationship, knowing what your partner expects, and being respectful of each other. /rantmode "Off"
  23. And Meese. Canada has Meese, which we all know is the plural of moose. And curling... which is suppose to be a sport >.> I'm EST.
  24. Oh wow... this so reminds me of my mithra, Reiswind's "Intercourses" storyline I did for FFXI. She made a cookbook full of food that had innuendo in the title. It was inspired by Nanny Ogg's cookbook from the Disc World novels but roleplayed out it was better then I expected! Thanks yet again to everyone who participated, even though it was years ago it was still fun. Sometimes I miss my eccentric mithra Reiswind's Specialty Spotted Dick: To Be Shared with a Friend! Prep Time: 30 minutes Cook Time: 2 hours Total Time: 2 hours, 30 minutes Ingredients: * 115g / 4oz raisins * 55g / 2oz currants * 75g /3oz dark brown sugar * Grated zest of 1 unwaxed lemon * 225g / 8oz self-raising flour plus extra for dusting * 115g /4oz shredded suet * Pinch of salt * 55ml /2 fl oz milk Preparation: 1. In a small bowl mix the raisins, currants, sugar and lemon rind for the filling. 2. Sift the flour into a large mixing bowl; add the suet and the salt and rub together to combine. Add a little milk and using a knife cut through the mixture, adding more milk little by little until it comes together. Finally use your hands to combine into a soft, elastic dough. Add more milk if necessary. 3. Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and roll into a rectangle approx 20cm x 30cm (8 x 12 inches). 4. Evenly spread the pudding filling mixture over the dough leaving a 1cm/ 1/2 inch border. Paint the border with a little cold water. Roll up carefully from the narrow end. 5. Soak a clean tea towel or cloth napkin in boiling water for a few minutes, squeeze to remove excess water. 6. Wrap the suet roll pudding in the napkin twisting at each end at securing with kitchen string. 7. Steam the pudding roll for 2 hours in a steamer. Alternatively, wrap the pudding suet roll in foil and bake in a hot oven (200ºC/400ºF/Gas 6) for 1 hour 30 mins. 8. Unwrap immediately, cut into thick slices and serve in warmed bowls with lashings of custard.
  25. I play in the tabletop game Zane is talking about and honestly this is the only villain I have ever enjoyed playing against. At one point in the game, right before he was revealed to the world as the bad guy, my character was put against him in a non-lethal tournament. Although there was no way my character could have physically bested him, she wrote down on a piece of paper exactly how someone could beat him. When their match began, she made a speech stating that "X" was powerful and had the makings of a great leader. She built him up as someone the people should follow and respect, quietly made a comment about how he should endeavor to deserve such a position, and then gave him the note describing the weakness in his fighting style (which I came up with all on my own OOC and impressed everyone with the tactic. Points for me ^^). He took the note, read it with a straight face, accepted the praise from the crowd, complimented my character, and left the tournament arena... then put her on the list of people he needed to get rid of. I know that was a lot to read, but this scene was simply fun to do. I had an enjoyable time figuring out the strategy, a great time roleplaying this huge speech with just a hint of a politely worded threat at the end, and watching OOC everyone's reaction to the scene. It made it fun to be a good guy (girl) for once. Conversely I have a friend in the same game who god-mods, meta-games, pushes every single rule and tries to make his character infallible. A year ago my character won against his and he still goes on about it. Not only that but after that event all his characters disliked mine because he decided they got together and talked about it (some of those characters didn't even like each other beforehand). His character is just simply not fun to play against and lately he's mostly been playing a storyline on his own because no one wants to interact with him IC. Sorry, this turned out way longer then it should have ^^;; My whole point is that a good villain should be someone fun to play against and should be the kind of person OOC that everyone loves to hate.
