  1. Oh, welcome! My main character, Amasandji, is on Shiva and he's a Dotharl too (although he has abandoned the tribe)! Even though I don't get to RP often with him, partly because I don't speak german, leading me to creating a RP alt on Omega, I've come up anyway with a story and everything for him. You could try sending me a tell, usually I'm around from 5 pm to 11 pm server time, barring emergencies and dinner time.
  2. First of all, thank you for taking your time to write your opinion. I had almost thought my topic would just go ignored, meaning I'd have to risk trying out a potentially bad concept for a character. My fear is that people might consider this character a special snowflake because being raised by a beast tribe isn't something exactly common... we have seen some examples of this before, like that Miqo'te whose name evades me with the Brotherhood of Ash. In the past few days, I've come up with a name that might fit this character: Shailja, an Hindu name meaning "daughter of the mountain". It isn't supposed to be her birth name, but simply a nickname given to her by the Vira (because she was born from two Highlanders from the mountains of Gyr Abania) that ended up becoming her name as even she came to call herself that way. As a surname for in-game purpose, I might go with Vira, taking as an example the way the Xaela have their tribe's name as a surname.
  3. So, after a long hiatus from RPing for various reasons, I wanted to come back to roleplaying in FFXIV. Sadly, it was the same week Balmung ended up being locked because of its very high population, so whatever, I decided to suck it up and see if with Stormblood Europe was finally going to get its own unofficial RP server, which apparently now is Omega. Neat. Meanwhile, I've been enjoying the new expansion on my non-RP main, and as I went through the stories and the various zones I realized I really like the Ananta beast tribe (partly because I've always liked lamia-like creatures), and even Lakshmi has become my favorite primal in the game. So I got this idea for a character, but I wanted to hear if I'd be breaking the lore or anything before creating such a character. Note that this is just a raw idea, I have still a lot of things to sort out such the character's name (it always takes me a lot of time to think about names), her personality and whatnot, and that's assuming I actually go through with this idea. That being said, my idea is a character who has been raised by the Vira Ananta, and as such has assimilated their culture, their beliefs, their arts, and everything). She'd be an highlander woman (most likely with a midlander model, though) whose parents belonged to the Ala Mhigan Resistance. They both died to the Garleans when she was still very young, though, and a Vira woman (we know the Vira are a small but definitely present part of the Resistance, unlike the Qalyana) who was closely acquainted with the two of them decided out of pity to raise the child as if she was her own. Fast forward some years later (twenty years, perhaps? I'm not sure since when the Resistance existed, nor do we know if the Vira were there since the beginning), she has grown up and has left the Vira village (I don't really remember its name right off the top of my head, I would check but I'm sitting on a thousand person long queue to login). Until now, she has lived as if she were a Vira for as long as she can remember (legs notwithstanding), and as such she's made their culture her own: she's a pretty decent goldsmith, capable of creating enchanted jewelry using magicks taught to her by the Ananta, she can put up a fight with an enchanted, jeweled rapier (like some of the Ananta battlemaid NPCs we see; it also means in-game her job would be RDM), and instead of worshiping Rhalgr or the Twelve as a whole, she worships Lakshmi as the embodiment of freedom like the other Vira. On the other hand, even if their culture is particularly dear to her, she has always known that she isn't actually an Ananta, and that's the exact reason why she has left the Vira: she wants to find her true self, and has decided to travel the world (or at the very least Eorzea, it depends on where all the RP's at) as a merchant of sorts, selling her own enchanted jewels and trying to learn more about other cultures. Aaaand that's about it for now. Forgive me for this wall of text and for any eventual grammatical error, but I wanted to get this idea out and write it down before I ended up forgetting it. Any feedback is accepted, if you think this is just me trying to create a special snowflake character or something like that then feel free to say it.
  4. I wanted Pokèmon Moon, but I greatly prefer the Sun legendary (rumor has it its name is Solgaleo), so... Pokèmon Sun it is. Those graphics... Now that's a 3D Pokèmon game. Also Hawaii-like region is nice. Character customization is finally back! \o/ I think I'm in the minority that hates Litten (fire edgy cat) and loves Popplio (funny sea lion). But I want Rowlet (swag grass owl) the most. Also, if you haven't done that already, I recommend seeing the japanese trailer. I almost cried.
  5. So... Sun and Moon are actually a thing now. Not even a trailer, though. But hey, now we can transfer Gen I Pokèmon to Gen VII.
  6. In my opinion he'll not die. I think he'll be hit by Murphy's Law (AKA everything that could go wrong will go wrong; I mean, that has happened like 5 times already so far.) multiple times until he has a breakdown, then he'll recover and do something awesome. Then, MAYBE he'll die, likely in an heroic sacrifice.
  7. Yeah... I was kinda joking there. Even though I was legitimately scared when I realized she drugged us.
  8. So, I was right about a lot of things. 1) Minfilia would come back as a Hydaelyn's reincarnation or something like that. = check. 2) Emmanellain would screw up. Badly. = check. 3) Estinien would be back, corrupted by Nidhogg. = everyone expected that, but... check. 4) The war wouldn't end that simply, because otherwise they'd have nothing for future patches before 4.0. = check. Also, that maid was just pure evil.
  9. Psh, by the time I get a healer to 60 it'll probably be fixed, I guess. What are the rewards for doing the Mentor roulette, by the way? Do you get tomestones?
  10. Oh, well, I was leveling PLD just so I could stop caring about DPS anyway, so eh.
  11. So, PLD has the highest potency attack in the game now. Goring Blade's total potency is a whopping 640 now. It doesn't really account for buffs, but... that's still impressive. It's even more than Chaos Thrust, and it's used more often.
  12. I only have PLD at 52, but is the barrier triggered by this ability directly related to the amount of healing received? If not then I can see slotting in Cure as an extra to this and enmity generation but... yeah, lol CNJ crossclass. Clemency (that even has a shorter casting time now) says hi. EDIT: And Divine Veil is a percentage of Max HP so it's a really good change.
  13. Isaulde: So I guess I'm a Light Knight now? ...Meh. Ume: Where's my reward for putting through all this shit.
  14. You're not missing much. I tried going online battling and the only pseudolegendary or higher I had was Tyranitar. -> proceeds to battle nothing but teams full of legendary Pokemon non stop. I haven't met one person online who battled with less than 5 legendary Pokemon yet. It's funny though because I can just imagine their rage when my Aggron ohko's they're Zekrom with a dragon rush lol. I thought most legendaries were banned from most online battles, or at least in-game ones.
  15. Dunsparse is a personal favorite of mine. Along with Smeargle and Shedinja. My other favourites are Barbaracle and Espurr. But on the other hand, I'd be hard pressed to find a Pokèmon I DON'T like. I think the only ones I hate are Rhyperior and Hawlucha.
  16. I don't really do competitive battling mostly because I just don't want to use the strongest Pokèmon or be berated for my choice otherwise. All my favourites aren't even close to being viable for competitive, mostly because there are other Pokèmon that are better at their job (example: Dunsparce is outclassed by Togekiss and Jirachi).
  17. On an unrelated note, even X and Y, the easiest games in the series, can become hard if: 1) You play them with nuzlocke rules. 2) No EXP share. 3) No grinding. 4) You can use only normal Pokèballs. The Team Flare arc left me only with Greninja and Yveltal, and I'm conflicted if I should use the latter or not.
  18. But they're cool. There's Rhydon, the very first Pokèmon ever created (I'll just pretend Rhyperior didn't exist). There's Omastar, AKA Lord Helix, AKA shitlord of memes thanks to TPP. There's Shuckle. You don't fuckle with Shuckle. There's Tyranitar. Everyone loves Tyranitar, it might even be overrated. There's Barbaracle, AKA "Machamp and his four arms clearly weren't hardcore enough so we try to one-up him by taking Machamp, making him an ugly barnacle, trasforming his head and legs into other arms, and adding eyes to each one of those."
  19. Oh, glad it wasn't just me! I immediately thought of Ramza when I saw him.
  20. Wait, there was a tank armor in there? D: WHERE.
  21. I'm calling it. Tank: Titan. Maybe Ravana? Healer: Shiva. Monk: Ifrit. Ninja: Leviathan. Dragoon: Garuda. Caster: Ramuh. Ranged: Bismarck...?
